I received this book from Hygge Book Tours in exchange of an honest review.

💖 First up, I really like the cover! Seeing Star in front of the tree with on the one side the nighttime and the other the day.
💖 Next up, the font! A special font doesn’t always work, but in this case I really enjoyed it! It really made for a better reading experience as it fitted so well with the pixie/fairy theme.
💖 I love reading about Star and her family. Her grandma and her farts when she drinks a certain tea (PRAPPPPP). Scavenging at night to find food. About their home.
💖 Star and her big big dreams. All Star wants is to check out day, but her mom has warned her multiple times that that is a no, because of the humans + that Star’s dad disappeared one day never to be seen again. I loved that despite these warnings Star was lured by something yummy (and seriously, I would have also be lured, haha).
💖 Seeing Rose and Star meet up and I loved that Rose wasn’t like most kids (aka try to tell everyone about her new friend) and that she helped out Star make her dreams of seeing the dayside of things true. Even if that meant a lot of chaos. I loved seeing them get closer and I just adored the friendship.
💖 The chaos! Seriously, at times yes, I was a bit annoyed with Star that she didn’t seem to listen or seem to think things through (I know she is a pixie, but Rose was pretty clear in explanations), but I guess it made for hilarious scenes with her, instead of going to the sink, taking a bath in the toilet… and all that happened there.
💖 I loved that Star knew that she had done something wrong and that she needed to apologize/help. That made me happy. That she understood that. Didn’t just go full on without a care, but actually thought about what happened and the consequences for Rose.
💖 It was so much fun how creative Star is and how she loves painting! I also adored that moment she saw real paints (so far she has had the materials of… a berry).
💖 How everything came together in the end. There were some exciting moments and then we get some revelations that made me super happy and tied it all back together. I won’t spoil anything, but I am sure other readers will also love this ending.
💖 The last bit in the tree house, does this mean a second book? Ah? Please? I would love more adventures with Rose and Star~!
💖 The illustrations in the beginning didn’t always mesh with me, but I have to say that I grew to like them quite a bit.

All in all, I had so much fun. This made me laugh! I loved the friendship between Star and Rose they make quite a good duo together. I would recommend this one.

What an absolute joy it was to read this gorgeous book.
One of my first book memories from when I was small was reading a book called Peapod The Pixie and I absolutely adored reading about the adventures this little flower pixie took.
I don't think I've seen anything like it since until now.

This was magical, mischievous and so much fun to read - and that was just for myself!

This is definitely a book for sharing though and I think it would be amazing to read this out loud either as a bedtime story or even for classroom storytime too.

I loved seeing the night pixies in action but also loved the big adventure that Star embarked on - tempted by chocolate cake! Wouldn't we all be!?
Seeing Star and Rose's friendship blossom and all the activities and misunderstandings were brilliant and I think any youngster would hope to meet their own little pixie to befriend one day.

The writing was easy to follow and read. Perfect to read aloud to your younger children - but I also feel that this would be a great one for the more proficient early readers too.
The short chapters make great pause points for those working their way through this one alone.

There were a few fun images dotted through the book which I loved!
They helped to give us a clear image of what was happening in the storyline and added some fun conversation prompts too.

A great set of characters and really enjoyable read.
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Star and Rose head off on their next adventure soon.

Here is my review for The Night Pixie by Hazel Knox

This was a very heartwarming and interesting tale of friendship and learning by Star, the night pixie and Rose, the young child staying with Aunt Mo at the top of the garden. The night pixies live in the oak tree at the bottom. Star had been warned on numerous times by her mum not to go out in the daylight as it was dangerous, it was when her dad had gone missing when she was young but there was a delicious smell and she was hungry so she disobeyed her mum and went on an adventure that took in so much, it was a marvellous day. She met Rose, although she was wary at the start and kept her distance from Rose by keeping the plate of cake between them. The cake was good and she ate so much of it, then they went to Aunt Mo’s house where she demolished the cake and made a mess of it and her! Rose couldn’t believe it, she took her to the bathroom to wash up but had to leave her there as her aunt called her. Star investigated on her own and made another mess which Rose had to take the blame for again so while Aunt Mo cleaned the bathroom, Rose and Star went to the Art room and did some painting. Everything was going well until Star got carried away and went too far messing up the floor, ceiling and walls! Poor Rose had to clean them all before she got into trouble again. The story is well written for young children to understand and there are brilliant pictures to look at as well. The pictures are well illustrated and I was well impressed by the detail on them. The story is enjoyable and captivating and I believe a young child would be entertained by it. It has a lot of different elements in the story. There is a follow up book which sounds interesting as well.

I loved this short kids story, aimed at kids aged 6+. I'm always really bad at knowing about young age ratings for kids so this had more words and story to it than I was expecting and I really enjoyed that. But this was a full story, albeit it short, with a few beautiful full page drawings dotted every now and then and some little ones on other pages which was really cute. And from the night pixie's point of view rather than the child which I thought was really cool.
I loved the fun adventure that Star and Rose went on together. So much happened in a small amount of both space and time and it was very funny seeing what went wrong for Star not knowing much about the human world. Some of the humour was definitely a bit gross but children will almost certainly love that!
When I reached the end it definitely left it as there could be many more adventures for Star and Rose and I was going to say that I hope there will be, but then I noticed it confirms it which is great! Kids will definitely love to read through all of their adventures and the mishaps that inevitably occur.

This is a fun story for little ones from author, Hazel Knox and is the first in a new series that will capture the imagination of little imaginations.

There's a great lesson in The Night Pixie to learn to listen before you act and to trust the advice/rules of your elders. Star our little night pixie doesn't do either of these and ends up in trouble (and chocolate cake) when she breaks the cardinal rule her Mum and Grandmother have given her - Day is dangerous.

The artwork from Chris White brings so much life and humour to the trouble our fearless little pixie, Star and her new human friend, Rose get up to. I can imagine many a night before bed checking for pixies in the dim light for little ones in the hope they'll find a magical companion hunting for something to eat in the shadows of a flower pot.

Expect giggles, groans and lots of joy when you're reading this at bedtime.. but keep an eye on that chocolate cake; you don't know what may find its way onto or into it!

The Night Pixie by Hazel Knox

Hey there! This awesome book is perfect for kids 6 and up. The dandelion farts had my little one and me giggling non-stop. I do feel sorry for Star at times as she is being introduced to loads of human concepts that she hasn't encountered in the night pixie world. It is such an adventure for such a little creature. The charming interactions in the book totally remind me of "The Borrowers". Star and Rose make such an adorable duo!
'The images are adorable and attractive for the younger children.

M aged 7: The pictures are very good and funny. I liked the one with the chocolate cake.

I'm reviewing this as part of a tour with Hygge Book Tours.

This was a charming children's book that made me smile from the start. The main character, Star, is a night pixie, and is told to stay away from daylight and humans, believing them to be dangerous. When Star befriends Rose, that changes everything.

I found this story delightfully funny and magical at the same time. I remember that as a child, I believed in things like fairies and pixies, and that you could see them if you looked closely enough. You can use your imagination to see whatever you desire, and that magic never truly goes away.

This is a fun, imaginative story with cute illustrations. It sparked joy to read it, and I know young readers will love it.

Thank you to Hygge Book Tours, and to the author and publisher, for the opportunity to read and review this.

Star is a night pixie living in an oak tree with her mum and gran. Life is safe and predictable as long as she doesn't fly above the fence or stray too far. But one day Star hears the sound of crying and goes to investigate, which is just the start of her adventure of meeting a human.

This is a super sweet story of friendship, understanding the world around you and navigating relationships and emotions.

It sees Star embarking on an adventure with Rose where she makes new discoveries whilst trying to understand the world of humans, most of which go wrong and she learns about herself and what it takes to be friends.

Whilst for Rose it's about having someone to confide in, being honest about her emotions even if they make her sad and about being brave and protecting those you care for.

I enjoyed reading this with my 6 year old and look forward to the next book.

Such a cute little story! We and my son loved reading this especially with the guilt cake! Yum!

I love star, she's so energetic and full of wonderful beans. Although she does need to calm down abit.. Granny is absolutely amazing! And I'd love her to be my granny! If she would have me that is.. lol..

This story has a lovely vibe, stars great adventure during the day. I absolutely love the illustrations as they bring the storyline even more magic!

Definitely a must read, especially for children who need to master listening and attention as well as just taking a moment to calm down before danger happens from being too excited.

Day is danger! But that's not going to stop Star the Night Pixie when she smells some delicious chocolate cake. Fearless and curious – Star goes on a wild adventure where she makes friends, eats cake, comes face to face with danger – and encounters hilarious mishaps at every turn. In Star, we have a cheeky new heroine to root for and I can't wait for her next thrilling adventure. Lovely illustrations by Chris White. Children will LOVE this story.

A wonderful new book introducing us to Star, the Night Pixie and her human friends Rose and Aunt Mo. The 84 pages are packed with Star’s adventure as she discovers the world outside her tree in the daytime. She goes from one disaster to another as she encounters lots of new things but she has her new friend Rose to look after her.

A delightful book, the first in the series, that all children will enjoy, as they follow the mischievous pixie when she ventures into day time.

This was such a cute, fun book. It's bright, eye catching and beautifully illustrated throughout by White - whose illustrations reminded me of Evil Edna from retro kids TV show Willo-The-Wisp.

Star was a brilliant character and her new found love of chocolate cake was a little piece of me. Throughout out the book Star learns a few valuable lessons which are written in a simplistic way for the younger reader to understand and for the parents to relay - to listen to what an adult tells you and trust in what they say - saving yourself from potential trouble and danger.

Guaranteed a giggle or two, The Night Pixie is an enjoyable and entertaining story that's perfect for bedtime reading.
