Festival of moments in a book

This delightful book introduces children to the meaning and traditions of Hanukkah, often called the Festival of Lights, in a way that is both engaging and easy to understand. It weaves together the historical story of Hanukkah with vibrant illustrations and fun activities that encourage hands-on learning, making it a wonderful resource for young readers.

What sets this book apart is the way it connects the traditions of Hanukkah with Christian faith, incorporating prayers for salvation and meaningful insights about baptism in the Holy Spirit. It offers a fresh perspective, inviting children to explore how Jewish history and Christian beliefs intersect. While the book does touch on Jesus as the Light of the World, this theme could have been explored in greater depth to strengthen the connection.

Ideal for young readers or as a shared family read-aloud, this book provides a faith-filled way to celebrate Hanukkah and learn more about its significance. It’s a wonderful addition to any holiday reading collection and a great tool for sparking meaningful conversations about faith and tradition.

I enjoyed reading Let there be Lights! Both children and adults will be engaged by this book which describes Hanukkah’ meaning and traditions, also known as the Festival of Lights. It depicts the historical story of Hanukkah in easy to follow language, illustrations, and then includes fun post-reading activities that serve to reinforce what was learned.
This book introduced to me the beliefs of the Messianic Jews who connect the Jewish traditions of Hanukkah with the Christian beliefs of prayers for salvation along with baptism in the Holy Spirit. This book is ideal faith-based holiday reading for older children or for reading with younger children. It opens the conversation to learn about Hanukkah's traditions and explore how Messianic Judaism and Christianity integrate.

A book about Hannukah

An interesting book about the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah. I thought it was informative and nicely done. The parts about Jesus were off putting however as Jesus is New Testament and is not a part of Judaism.
