Very well drawn.
Other than that, unnecessarily convoluted story that was really quite hard to follow. I thought a crossover could have been done in far more interesting way.

Overall the story was interesting, but it really needed more time to develop. Everything feels so rushed as we jump quickly around multiple plots.

I liked how they tied Ninjor into both universes, and Freddie Williams' art is top-notch as always, but the story was bizarrely structured and desperately needed some breathing room to let things develop and resonate. Tracking down the mini comics didn't help clarify the plot, either. I usually love crossovers, and this one should've been a home run for me, but it just didn't quite land.

This mashup of 80's legends you never knew you wanted gives you pretty much exactly what you'd expect from the title. It is campy, weird, occasionally funny and in many ways even feels like an 80's comic with its style and story. Both of them are from my childhood and when I heard of this I knew I had to give it a try.

The story takes on a funky cross-time caper where Skeletor and Splinter have joined forces and our half-shelled heroes team up with He-Man. As you can imagine, the story itself is nothing amazing and only serves to drive us from one action sequence to another. There are some moments of calm in the chaos but they feel a bit lost.

The main pull is of course the mashup itself and this is done fairly well. The characters feel like themselves, even if a bit thin. The action is over the top as it should be yet often feels too much as we move from one scene to another at a pace that feels like the author tried to cram in every idea they ever had into this one series. The way our heroes are treated is quite nice, whereas the bad guys end up just being comic reliefs.

Art is occasionally great, occasionally messy. Parts feel like you're reading Heavy Metal magazine with the style, chaos and occasional graphic violence that would never have been seen in the original series. Some of the character designs, like the turtles in MOTU gear, are lots of fun.

Overall I enjoyed this, but honestly was hoping for a bit more heart and soul. What we get instead is mostly a crazy adventure that is fun to read but you're unlikely to return to it or read it again. If you're old enough to have liked these back in the 80's this'll give you a bit of a nostalgia trip and if you are in that target audience you should check this out. What a fun way to end the year.

I was somewhat disappointed with Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe - from the same team - and kind of worried the same fate might be fall this crossover, but I was happy to say that wasn't the case.

A TMNT/Masters of the Universe really feels like peanut butter and jelly.

It turns out Prince Adam and the Turtles have a lot in common, and the book does a great job drawing on that.

There is a significant time travel plot, which kicks off in media res, with the Turtles already in Eternia fighting Skeletor, Shredder and even a mutated He-Man before circling back to the past to show what started this all.

It's all a bit complicated, but at the certain point you have to take the plot at face value and just enjoy the sheer fun of watching the TMNT, their friends and allies - including Casey Jones and April O'Neil - team up with the likes of the Masters of the Universe.

The art really works here, and all and all it's a super-fun was to close out the year.

The minute I discovered this crossover existed, I HAD to have it THAT DAY!!! I rarely invest such money into one book, and although the crossover did not hold up to my hopes, I am still very glad, tickled even, that this story exists! It's wonderful to see the two universes combine, and Prince Adam and the boys, especially Man at Arms and Donnie, get along very well, as fans might expect. :) Splinter has an awesome role and is very handled very well, something that no all artists/authors master despite his importance.

The writing was, at times, a bit simple, but that's often an issue with the TMNT comics. They seem to either hit hard to barely hit at all, and I fear this was one of the latter. My biggest complaint would be the Time Mistress, or whatever she was called -- we don't need more Mary Sues in the TMNT world. After all, we already have April!

The comic book is a hybrid medium; both writing and artwork must serve the story equally. Here both elements are doing just that. Writer Tim Seely and illustrator Freddie E. Williams II understood the assignment and delivered in spades. For my money, there's nothing better. Each of Williams' panels is a treat to behold; he revels in anatomy, taking up the mantle of the great Frank Frazetta. I had toys from both of these franchises as a child, and I once tried Shredder's cape on Skeletor for size. The combination looked great all those years ago, and it works great here, thanks to the hard work and care taken by amazing artists and creators.

The good news first. The art is fantastic with various perspectives and the coloring is AMAZING.

The bad news. The story is terrible. I have been a fan of Tim Seeley's writing since the early days of his very enjoyable Hack/Slash series. I have read other things he has done such as Moneyshot, Nightwing, Revival, etc. and liked them. This however, is waaaaaay to wordy and complicated for a small four issue miniseries. It is very disjointed and feels like it was meant to be double the size, but was cut down at the last minute causing the story to be rushed and missing sections.

The art delivers in the usual way, but I’m guessing this ties into the comics that came with the figures from the corresponding toyline, so the beginning was hard to follow. You get some context later, but Seeley shines here in the dialogue but the plotting could’ve been a lot tighter.

80s & 90s nostalgia at its finest

Sometimes mash ups of different IP work and sometimes they don’t. This one surely does. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. A great tale letting both the villains and heroes shine.

The artwork is great, and the story is interesting, but the dialogue and narration are often quite exposition-heavy. This means that you're either rushed through new ideas/events, or slowed down in the introductory scenes of issues #2 to #4 (the opposite of what great writing should do).

at first, thought I was missing something without the mini-comics. then realized it was supposed to be a little confusing, which all wrapped up nicely.

as far as MotU crossovers, not as good as the Injustice crossover.

I'm not sure I totally loaved the climax, but it was He-Man and TMNT at the end of the day.

Read as single issues.

Ja echt, ein Crossover... aber man hätte es alles ein bissl besser machen können.

Sowohl die Story, als auch die Zeichnungen. Dennoch 3/5 für ein seltene Charaktere, die drin vorkommen.
