Reed Harrison is everything right and proper, a decorated soldier turned small town attorney. But he's also a man with a secret, and dark, dangerous desires. With his sight set on Cass Blakely, the best friend of his best friend's girl, sparks begin to fly.
Cass has lived her life by one motto, not to take any crap off of anyone. She's always bucked authority, but no one has ever issued the kinds of orders that Reed gives her.
But not everyone wants to see the odd couple have a happy ending...

Seraphina Donavan does it again with this second story in her Gresham County series. This erotic romance series has romantic suspense overtones and is filled with interesting twists and turns.
There were a couple of things about this story that I simply adored. For instance, Cass' self-assurance. Seraphina Donavan writes her heroines as robust women however Cass had no body image issues. That was so nice to see. I love how she set out to seduce Reed and how she gave it the full court press. I greatly admired that about her.
Another thing that I liked about this story was Crystal's craziness. Crystal was the antagonist in the story and she'g got it bad for Reed. The first stunt she pulled was freaking hilarious. The others ones... not so much. But you'll have to find out what she does yourself *wink*.
One thing that I particularly identified with was Cass' relationship with her mother. In fact, I perhaps identified with it too well - just for me it was my dad. I know that the author portrayed Cass' feelings perfectly 'cause they practically mirrored mine. I honestly can't find fault with the way that part was written. Like I said, I felt Cass' feelings as if they were my own. Especially when something happened in the story that actually happened in my life at the same exact moment. Let me just tell you, timing can be freaky.
The one thing that disappointed me about this read was the level of suspense. While yes it was suspenseful, it wasn't at the same level as the first book in the series.
Fun and sizzling sex scenes with just enough BDSM elements to make it extra spicy round out a great package. I advice toy to try this story. Or better yet, just grab the whole series!

A very nice short read I like this author's writing style. The character's are always well written even if the stories are short. The issue I had with this book was the formatting or something technical (i downloaded twice from the cloud thinking the error was in the download), but no, the format was still weird. The book needs a good editor, there were times when Reed could only have been the person to say something, but instead it was written as if Jackson was speaking, and there were too many similar instances in the book and so the book lacked flow.
This book had all the elements I look for in a book that I didn't know I wanted. I liked how Cass had NO body image at all. There was a mild form of bondage, spanking, & submission which in this case was done with love & with an agreement between the couple as to what was allowed. Just so captivating I have to say for sure & the total erotic wow for me. Then, there is two added crazies thrown into the mix who stir up pure mean Ass crazy trouble. Evie & Jackson are back so catching up was fun. I enjoyed this book.
I downloaded these books for free on my Kindle, and I have to say I was rather surprised. I really loved them both!!! Definitely will be checking out more of the authors work.
