Lisa's review of
Restless Book 3 of The King Series
By Tawdra T. Kandle

I received a copy of Restless by Tawdra T. Kandle in exchange for an honest review.  I have one word SPECTACULAR.  Again Tawdra did not disappoint me.  This is a very great series about a girl by the name if Tasmyn who as the ability to read people's thoughts.  Now I know personally I think this would be a great gift to possess but sometimes it could be a curse.  Tasmyn is going through some troubles with a teacher she has been working with.  Her family, boyfriend Michael, and friends distrust her so she is forced to lie to everyone. Feeling guilty for this lie she feels the need to change some things in her life, but is this going to help her or make things possibly worse in this situation.  Tasmyn develops greatly in her gifts but warning after warning she may find out the reasons for it too late.  I can't wait for next book in the series I have grown to love all the main characters like Tasmyn, Michael, Rafe, and Amber, and even loved Nell.  I couldn't put the book down read it in 1 1/2 hours it was so good.   Thank you Tawdra for an excellent book and remaining true to the story through each and every book.   Must read on all three books so far in this series.

****Warning! Contains Spoilers!****

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dear Tasmyn,

I told you over and over again during the last book to stay in bed. Did you listen? No! How'd that work out for you? I'll tell you how it went. Bad! Very, very bad! You broke Michael's heart, put Amber in the hospital and almost found yourself forcibly exported to Romania by a psycho Chemistry teacher who seriously needs to get a life. I really hope you learned your lesson this time! In fact, I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the next book to find out.

Sincerely yours,

Somebody who really, really, really loved this book! (And has a little too much time on her hands.)

After reading the third book in this series, I am now convinced this is one of the best young adult paranormal series I have read to date. Things have certainly gotten a little darker for Tasmyn and Rafe a new rival for her affections also gives a new dynamic to the story. Some really great back round explored history and the villain who begins to show her true colors takes this segment to new and exciting heights. Just like magic I'm lured in!

This one really hurt to read. I still love all the characters and the story but it was painfully depressing watching her go through all these horrible things. I'm eager to move on to the next book so I can get the "taste" of this one out of my mouth.

There’s more going on behind Tasmyn’s desire to completely focus on expanding her talents. What exactly is Ms. Lacusta’s agenda? As Tasmyn gains more power, who’s really the one in control? This is a fascinating storyline interwoven with moments of heartbreak, angst, intrigue, and drama that is sure to keep you engaged from start to finish. Michael’s unrelenting faith in them as a couple will tug at your heartstrings. As will Rafe’s efforts to gain Tasmyn’s affections while he does his best to steer her away from Ms. Lacusta’s influence. There’s a lot in this tale to keep you turning pages culminating in quite an exciting climax. One that is not completely unexpected but with a surprising twist. Even after the excitement dies down, we’re left anxiously wondering will Tasmyn and Michael get their 2nd chance? You have to read it to find out. 😉

I started this one immediately after listening to book 2, Breathless. There was a lot I liked about it, though I had to remove myself from the story several times. I had to keep reminding myself that she was a teenager and wouldn't make the same decisions I would. I felt more and more anxious as the book went along. All of her relationships had boundary issues, which led to her being someone she wouldn't even have recognized 6 months earlier. I was thrilled when her actions finally caused her to see how far off the path she had traveled. I am loving that we are seeing even more of King's First Families. I want to see more of what everyone can do. I'm looking forward to the series finale now that Tas has a better understanding of her power and her responsibility.

OMG!!! Idk, IDK!!! I thought for a moment there Tasmyn was going over to the dark side. But what's going to become of Nell? She risked her life to save Tasmyn. Will she ever wake up?? Will she still be committed if she does? Will Rafe ever be able to get over Tasmyn and find a love of his own? Find out next on Dragon Ball Z....(I think only anime fans will understand that. LOL)"

A lot going on in this installment of the series. It's nice to see Tasmyn finally come into more of her powers. Feel bad for Nell though. But at least the big bad got put in their place by then end of things. I look forward to finishing the series.

So many stupid ways this went wrong. But I guess the ending made up for the majority of the book. I am hoping the next book is more enjoyable than this one.

I have read all of the King Series by Tawdra Kandle. It actually was one of the first books I wrote a review for and I have been following Tawdra around ever since. I love how her books are truly YA. There is nothing in them that you wouldn't want your teenager reading. In fact, other than the paranormal elements, everything is something that your child will see in school on a daily basis. It is a series of life experiences that nearly every teenager can relate to. Even the paranormal elements are things they can relate too without actually being able to perform magic. I can explain this better by telling you a little more about this particular story.

Tasmyn was pretty much forced to take an independent study with Ms. Lacusta at the end of book two, but what you learn is that she doesn't really feel all that forced into it in book three. Ms. Lacusta decides to teach Tasmyn everything she knows about magic. She sees potential in Tas as her daughter's magical twin (that is explained in books two and three). Tasmyn eventually decides that it would be a good idea for her to learn how much magic she really can perform. Rather than learning it on her own, causing potentially bad things to happen, she sees Ms. Lacusta as the better of two evils, a mentor. What she does not realize is that she will have to tear apart her life as she knows it in order to gain control of the magic within her. She begins lying to nearly everyone. She does things to her friends that she normally would never do. She starts using people. All of these things are what our kids will eventually run into in one form or another. For Tasmyn, they were all because of her desire for power over the magical realm. She must learn some valuable lessons that will have even you feeling a little guilty. It's a very emotionally charged book, and I am looking forward to reading book four, Endless.

Restless by Tawdra Kandle
Book 3 of the King Series

Rating 5*****

This book was provided free from the author in exchange for honest literary review.

Tasmyn has gotten herself into quite the jam. With Michael still away at school Marica has managed to work her way in as a mentor to Tasmyn. In doing so, she has created huge rifts with everyone in Tasmyn's life. Rifts that have grown so large they may never be healed. Between the drama at school and the recurring nightmares Tasmyn has one heck of a senior year at hand......
This book I think is my favorite of the series. You watch this young girl seriously bloom over the rough teenage years if a young girls life. Learning to accept that she is different and to embrace that is so beautifully portrayed here. And guess what? Tasmyn isn't perfect! She screws up...a lot actually, just like normal average girls. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to see such well developed characters!!!!! The plot flows well and the dreams are seriously creepy, but still good.
This is one of those series you read and reread over and over. I would highly recommend these books to anyone looking for a truly entertaining series

The story is well crafted - so well, in fact, that it made me overlook my growing dismay at Tasmyn's actions. I definitely think she made some more decisions during the course of this book, but I suppose what counts is how she handles it after the fact.

If you can suspend belief long enough to accept what's going on in King (and, apparently, in Romania), things are quite realistic. Characters are dynamic, flawed, and confusing. Since the story is told only from Tasmyn's POV you only know what she can 'hear'. That said, as a teenager going through a rough time she definitely ignores a lot of what she hears. I definitely felt bad for everyone around her and had very little sympathy of her self-inflicted breakdowns. But, I guess she was well intentioned for most of it and without the wisdom of someone older or more experienced with life she did the best she good.

When all is said and done, a must read for those following the King Series. As with the previous book, I was a bit annoyed with Tasmyn the entire time, but I am excitedly looking forward to the conclusion of it all!

Fabulous Read!

Oh, Tasmyn! Could you not hear me yelling at you during this book? You need to start listening to me! I would have told you to stop lying, stop hiding, and pick up the damn phone when he calls!

What I liked about this book is that the author (Tawdra Kandle) didn’t keep everything neat and pretty – Tasmyn has issues. She is a typical teenager in the sense that she makes mistakes, they snowball, and she gets in over her head, but for Tasmyn it’s bigger than that. One lie after another, raw emotions, attempted kidnapping, and exploring more and more into her new gifts and abilities – Tasmyn turns into a ticking time bomb.

This third book in the series was much darker than the first two, but it was also packed with more action and emotion. My heart raced and ached while reading this book. Fabulous, fabulous read!

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This one was a bit difficult for me to read. I guess it is like the portions of our life that we would rather forget, when we make choices that we soon regret. That is this whole book.

Michael is a saint. Tasmyn . . . is not.

So, Tasmyn makes a series of very bad choices and is very blind throughout this book. She lies to just about everyone or uses them and though aware of some of what she is doing, she continues. It takes until the very end of the book before she comes clean and we hope she is back on track.

I did enjoy her actual learning to use her powers but kept thinking that there was someone else she should have sought out to teach her.

I have to admit that when she goes off by herself to confront and cancel her association, it seem just stupid to me. She should have learned her lesson by now.

I am looking forward to the next book to hopefully bring joy and happiness.

I've had the pleasure to follow along with this series from the beginning and each book keeps getting better. This one is one of my favorites as we really see Tas blossom from the scared, quiet girl and really come into herself.

However, there are major consequences to the decisions she makes. She learns that they affect more than herself as she rips apart lives, breaks hearts, and almost loses herself in the process. Can she come back from it? That is the question we're left with as we see her fall and make mistakes, but only time will tell if her restless behavior will be her ruin.

By far my favorite of the King Series, to this point. Kandle grabbed hold of a broken part of herself when delving into this novel and took those feelings for a very successful spin.

As projected, Tazmyn's emotions got the best of her, and Rafe proved to be the lovable trouble maker that always steals my heart. I was very impressed by the creative way Kandle kept golden boy Michael involved, and actually made me like him more. Which is not boding well for my bad boy fetish!

A must read (in series order, obviously) for all my paranormal lovers out there!

Wow.. Another great in this series :)
Ok, unfortunately Michael and Tas are no more in this book....
We get more of an insight into Rafe, and he's obviously more than interested in our Tas.
Unfortunately she's in deep with Marcia, and she can see the division within herself, the eagerness she feels about learning more of her skills but also the lies she telling.
Everything comes to a head and once again Tas is in trouble, but this time it's Rafe who has her back, even tho she's leading him down a certain path.
Again, no more details, read it!

I thought this book was well written. It continues from where the second book leaves off.

I saw there is a fourth book coming out soon to complete the series. I am waiting to see how it ends. This book get more into the relationship of Taysmin and Marica. You find out what Marica's agenda is and to what length she is willing to go to get it. That is all for a spoiler I am going to mention.

I finished the book in about 2 days so it is an easy and compelling book to read.

Very good story. It kept me hooked until the very end. This book was darker and more emotional than the first two, but in the end, everything gets better. I am definitely going to read the next one in the series when it comes out just to see what happens next. I received a copy of this book from Promotional Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED the first 2 books of this series. I'm not sure what the point of this third book was for though. Please don't get me wrong it was good, but it could have been a stand alone and it didn't really have a point, and left me some characters hanging. I feel the end of book 2 could have been the end of that makes sense.

Restless is the 3rd book in the King Series. Note: you should read them in order to get the full story. I enjoyed the story and sat on the edge of my seat for most of this book. All three of these books were great. I could not put them down!

My favorite of the series, though I very much like all of them! I don't really see the need for a fourth book, bit I imagine I will. After all, since when do I complain about more to read, right?
