A familiar name. A hidden past. A chance to rewrite her future.
After losing her best friend, house, and café, Carmel Summers is finally starting to settle in at the Folly Beach Inn.
But things get messy fast when a strange couple shows up, and Carmel’s ex-husband pressures her to sell the Inn to buy back her café.
At the same time, her father’s memory is fading, and the stories that he used to tell aren’t making any sense.
Carmel leans on Mac for support, but then he drops a he wants the Inn for his mother, Sandra. What unsettles Carmel even more is the name he mentions—it's the same as her late mother's.Could this just be a coincidence, or the key to unlocking the past?
The sisters meet at the Attorneys office with Maxwell Henderson. Coming face to face with Mac. Carmel is upset and feels like Mac has set them up, only to find that Mac was also raised by their Mother Sandra. Were they related???? She was falling bigtime for him. OMG!!! His offer was to be a 1/3 owner of the Inn, but he would pay all expenses to remodel and get everything up and running, as he felt he owed it to Sandra, as his father was also abusive and she protected him. Carmel had to find out the truth. Was Sandra Mac's mother ,too. Why did she leave her girls??? Geeze C.K. this is crazy. But a fantastic story. Get me to # 3 quick. I received this ARC and am leaving my honest review.
Broken Ties at the Folly Beach Inn is the second book in the Oceanside Series which continues to follow Carmel, Missy, Annie, and Hank as they work on getting the Inn functional and financially soluble again. Mac has proposed a settlement to the ownership crisis while there are still numerous issues which need to be addressed to resolve the various health, relationship, ownership, safety, and divorce problems. The book ends in a cliffhanger.

This story has many twists, complex relationships, and takes a realistic look at what it is like to deal with a parent or relative in early stages of dementia. Not thrilled with how mean the sisters are to each other. But I also can’t wait for the next book!.

This story keeps you on your toes, trying to figure out what is going on. The story is true, suspense, not knowing if everything is on the up and up. Guess we will just have to read the next episode to see if Mac and Caramel are half brother and sister.
