I've been waiting forever and year to dive back into this world, so when I was given the opportunity to read this novella, I nearly jumped out of my shoes. I really do hope this means the author is gearing up to give us more books in this series. This novella felt like an appetizer, and though I loved reuniting with Evangeline and Verlaine, it felt a little rushed and left me starving for so much more! It was a novella after all, so I wasn't expecting Trussoni's usual deep world building, though I did find myself missing all the intricate details of this world and her usual lyrical prose.

Still, it was a joy to read and I'm looking forward to anything Trussoni writes in this universe!

There's so much to say and so much to criticise but so little I'm able to explain now.
If we never have a 3rd installment of this series, this will be a disappointing end to a marvellous story.
