Rate this book
But when she is rescued from execution by a harpy warrior and his fae comrade, Emira finds herself in the Southern Realm of the Fae Lands.

Here, she discovers that her previous master may have more influence and power than she originally thought. He enters her dreams, threatening her with death if she tells anyone about the secrets of his realm.

And as Emira grows healthy, the powers that she possesses as a siren and fae hybrid begin to emerge, and her heart begins to feel for another what it never has before.

Now Emira must decide if she will disappear silently, and escape the murderous eye of her previous master, or speak up and save those who need it the most.

But can she free the slaves that desperately need it, while also protecting her own heart?

Blade of the Siren is a fast paced fantasy romance about the power of overcoming trauma and becoming who we truly are.

I have no words… I just LOVED this book. My husband recommended it to me as he used to work with Amber Griffey’s husband. This is a MUST read. There were so many twists and turns, literally keeping me on my toes on what is going to happen next. The way the raw emotion between the two main characters was written, made you feel everything they were feeling. The arch of the main character being feeble to becoming a bad ass. Chef’s kiss. This is my first time reading a fantasy book with the fae people in it, and I am so glad it was Amber’s book that got me into this new world. I hope she writes more because she just made me a lifelong fan.

This book held my interest from the first chapter and never lost it. In the 331 pages, I never lost interest once. It’s packed full of action, romance, and delicious smut. The journey of the main character finding her strength despite her trauma was truly beautiful and moving. The author describes things so vividly it feels like you’re in the book. I honestly had a hard time putting this book down. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantasy, smut, and a kick ass plot.
I’m already impatiently waiting on the next book.

Half Fae 🤝 Half Siren
It's giving ACOTAR meets Aquaman and I'm here for it. What a fun concept with a unique duo. I loved the siren aspect because mermaids, DUH! Also, super cool how our antagonist was able to visit her in her dreams. I enjoyed that dark aspect a ton and actually would have liked more of it. The spice was pretty good, too. It wasn't over the top. It was just right.

Overall, you had a little bit of everything (character growth, romance, plot, and spice) to make it an easy read. The first half is a little slower as it's setting the world up and getting to know the characters. The 2nd half (around 60%) is where it really started to kick into full gear for me. I was hooked on what was going to happen next. If you're looking for something fast but still entertaining, then I would definitely recommend it.

Why not 5 stars?
It’s a solid standalone, but I did wish for a bit more depth. I wanted more background/personal stories on her master to intensify the fear in the beginning and more simple moments with Tallen to build up the chemistry. I also felt like everyone, excluding Vyrion, was too perfect to Emira. I was hoping for a little bit of dismay and conflict with at least one other character.
For that reason, I give it 3.75/5 rounding up to give it 4⭐️

***SPOILERS***

Five freaking amazing and devastating stars!!! From start to finish, the story was perfection! I cried. I sobbed. I laughed. And then I cried more. Emira is a beautiful complex character. She suffered so much at the hands of Valyerion, but she wasnt weakened. She wasnt broken. I adore her for it. She's kind yet firm. I love who she ended up being.

**SPOILERS**

Not only is she a siren/fae but the Queen of both realms. I was so shocked but it was so perfect. King Helland and King Ellis thought she was nothing. Treated her like she was nothing, yet look at her!! Ugh I got literal chills!!! So so good!!!

I found this stories, World different enough that though based on the usual theam most excellent. The main characters personality, through what she went through continues to grow and strengthen. There are violent triggers in this Story, that may upset or offend some people. Narrator does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline. I am very impressed with this book.

I need more of Tallen and Emira! I absolutely adore them and I need to know how their story evolves. I loved every character and how they made the story so cohesive. Well done Amber! My husband was at the bookstore and met her, got me a signed copy of her book, and now I’m super jealous that he met her and not me! Maybe one day!

Couldn’t put it down. This story dives into a thrilling adventure that’s both captivating and perilous—much like navigating a siren's lair. Following Emira, an escaped slave saved from a fate worse than death by a drool-worthy, morally grey winged harpy, this book is a whirlwind of non-stop, fast-paced action. The cast of characters is delightfully quirky, and their witty banter between our FMC and MMC had me giggling in anticipation with every page turn. Griffey’s vivid world-building immerses you in waves of salty air and danger, reminding you that the most alluring things can also be perilous—like that last slice of cake you know you shouldn’t have.
If you liked Quicksilver, or Daughter of No worlds this should be on the top of your TBR immediately.

Super immersive, amazing world building. I was also hooked from the first and second chapters. Fell in love with each character. The food descriptions were amazing! I liked the diversity of the different magical creatures, reminded me of Elfhame by Holly Black, but this was more mature which I appreciated.

If I had a pet peeve about anything it would be the crescendo towards the main battle.

But omg the ending had me in tears, I wish every MMC was like Tallen. Very Xaden and Cassian esq.

I choose ‘Iris’ by the Goo goo dolls for this book ❤️

Read this based on a TikTok ad comparing the MMC to another favorite MMC of mine. This one wasn’t great and the MMC was nothing like what he was compared to in the ad. It had good moments, but the writing style just wasn’t for me. There wasn’t enough plot development and it felt rushed at times. I hate being the kind of person who has to finish every book I read because I should have DNF’d this one.
