Brody Lewis's latest heist is thwarted when the bomb he built vanishes. He's intrigued when he discovers the thief is Morgan Cash, a bored, reformed grifter with a spitfire attitude. Turning an obstacle into an opportunity, Brody extends an offer sure to infuse adventure into her mundane life. Their worlds are too different to coexist beyond this job, but the thrill of their audacious heist is nothing compared to the way Brody makes Morgan's heart thump.
After loving the first book, I was worried the second installment might not measure up. But let me tell you—Bang blew me away! And don’t worry if you’re new to this series—it stands alone perfectly. (Though, trust me, after this one, you’ll want to dive right into Morgan’s brother’s story in Hustle.)
The plot is fast-paced and packed with twists, keeping you flipping pages late into the night. But what really sets Bang apart is the characters. Morgan and Brody feel so authentic, like people you’d meet in real life (you know, if you ran in highly skilled criminal circles). The level of introspection Mary Cain gives her characters is phenomenal. Every choice they make—from casual breakfast orders to head-banging stupid decisions—fits their personalities and backstories perfectly.
And the chemistry? Off the charts. Brody’s charm and Morgan’s spitfire attitude make for a dynamic duo that’s just as fun to watch.
This book has it all: action, depth, humor, and a romance that’ll have your heart racing. I’ll definitely be rereading this one—and probably raving about it to everyone I know.
This series is so good! The chemistry is amazing and the spice is a lot of fun! I really loved Brody and Morgan and the slow burn of their romance was so well done. I’m just super curious how Morgan pulled off the diamond heist! Fingers crossed for a short story!
Would definitely recommend this series! This was a different type of romance from what I usually read and I really enjoyed it and might have to branch out! :)

Oh my freaking gosh! This was so awesome! I love Brody. Logan in book one was smooth, but Brody is another level of smooth! Whew. This man. Wow. That line about Morgan's dress was awesome! And the man was sick with a fever. You're going to love Brody!!! Trust me.
OMG I'm so in love with Brody and of course, Morgan because, who doesn't love a beautiful badass woman! I've read all of Mary Cain's books and have enjoyed each one by this exceptional author. Would definitely recommend this book to everyone!
Bang, the second book in the awesome Troublemakers and Heartbreakers series, takes everything I loved about the first, then brought the emotion. I'm goo. With an irresistible mix of city girl/country boy, opposites attract, slow-burn romance, and morally gray characters, this book delivers a captivating ride that left me hooked from start to finish.
Brody Lewis, a bomb-building farmer (yep, you got that right!), meets his match when Morgan Cash, a reformed grifter with a sassy attitude, outsmarts him. Their initial meeting had me kicking my feet and giggling, and when Brody offers Morgan a chance to escape her mundane life for one last daring heist, the tension between them ignites. These two are full of witty banter, simmering attraction, and a deliciously slow-burning connection, making this book unputdownable.
What makes Bang even better than the first book is the dynamic between Brody and Morgan. Their opposing backgrounds and complex personalities create a perfect push-pull, and watching them navigate trust, desire, and the dangerous world of conning is absolutely addictive. Both characters are morally gray, which adds depth and complexity to their relationship, and they both have baggage that needs handling before they find their HEA.
The writing is sharp and clean, the plot is fast-paced, and the emotional stakes are higher than ever. I loved how the slow-burn romance unfolded naturally. Brody and Morgan's chemistry is both electric and fun, and their journey as they figure each other out, is just perfect.
If you enjoyed the first book, Bang will blow you away. This 5-star read is a must for fans of enemies-to-lovers and morally complex love stories. I've heard book 3 is in progress and I'm here for it!
The banter in this book was amazing! Morgan and Brody were the perfect combination of stubbornness. The fact that she was slowly putting down roots without wanting to admit it was slow burn perfection! I love how he noticed all the little things and wasn’t shy about showing her what she deserved. And Bossy Brody come on! 🔥 🥵
There are no words to describe how much I love both of these books, and the novella. If you love clever, FUNNY, spicy, action packed romance, check these out!! I am a VERY picky reader, but I have become positively obsessed with Mary Cain's writing!!!
Handcuffs. Nursemaid situation. Pet goat. Ya know, just your average slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance. 💥 BANG!
Mary Cain does it again in Book 2 of her Troublemakers & Heartbreakers series, bringing us another morally grey Cash sibling and a love story that’s equal parts fire, frustration, and fun.
Morgan Cash—the self-proclaimed screw-up of the family—is trying to stay on the straight and narrow after years of heisting and hustling. But when she finds out her beloved childhood casino is about to be demolished, she does the most logical thing imaginable: she steals the bomb. 💣
Enter Brody Lewis. Farmer by day, bomb-maker by hobby (because who doesn’t have one of those?). He’s a simple man… until Morgan crashes into his world, detonating every ounce of peace and quiet he had left.
Now she’s stuck out in the country—completely out of her element—partnering with Brody for one last “big job.” She’s the brains; he’s the bang-maker. And while they plan their heist, the tension between them grows hotter than Brody in that tractor scene. (If you know, you know 😏)
As much as I loved Logan Cash in Hustle, Brody might just be my new favorite book boyfriend. He’s loyal, patient, and completely gone for Morgan. She’s the bold, spitfire badass who doesn’t know how to slow down, and he’s the steady hand who helps her find her footing. Together, they’re explosive in every possible way.
Did I mention it’s a slow burn? Because this is the definition of slow burn. The tension builds and builds… until it finally ignites in a moment that is—no joke—the biggest bang Brody has ever had. 🔥
Once again, Mary Cain proves why she’s an author I’ll one-click every time. Her stories aren’t just spicy romances—they’re clever, character-driven adventures filled with humor, emotion, and a depth that keeps you hooked long after the last page. Every scene, every twist, and every perfectly timed bit of banter reminds you why she’s an auto-buy author. She pulls you in so completely, you feel like part of the crew (probably the one feeding the goat). 🐐
Bang can absolutely be read as a standalone, but if you’ve read Hustle, you’ll love seeing the Cash family chaos continue.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ ✨ Enemies to lovers ✨ Slow burn perfection ✨ Found family vibes ✨ Morally grey chaos ✨ Loyal cinnamon-roll MMC ✨ Sassy, spitfire FMC
Mary Cain + The Cash Siblings = a guaranteed good time. 💋
When I jumped into this book, I thought it was going to be like some action-packed Mr & Mrs Smith type story. Well, it wasn't, and honestly, I'm not disappointed. The character development for our MFC is relatable. Our MMF is a delicious, rugged, cinnamon roll that can make any girl melt.
If you love opposites attract, he falls first, spicy banter, family secrets reveal, and mental health representation, with some action both outside and inside the bedroom, this book is for you!
Bang is a delightful read that follows Morgan Cash, a badass thief who keeps everyone on their toes, and Brody Lewis, a sweetheart with a unique side hobby—making "bangs." Morgan and Brody have insane chemistry, and their slow-burn romance from enemies to lovers, is incredibly satisfying. While I would’ve loved a deeper dive into the diamond heist storyline, I still enjoyed the plot overall.
If you’re looking for a book filled with twists, witty banter, steamy romance, and heartwarming moments pick this one up!
Although Bang is book #2 in the Troublemakers and Heartbreakers series, it can easily be read as a standalone. I wasn’t even halfway through before I grabbed book #1, Hustle, to catch up with Morgan's brother Logan.
Thank you to Mary Cain for providing me with a copy of Bang in exchange for my honest review.
Having not read book 1 I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed Bang.
Morgan is a fun, feisty and outwardly strong FMC, but is actually hiding how emotionally broken she is. She goes above and beyond to prove herself to her family, sometimes not going to plan.
When she meets Brody, a gorgeous “bang” maker who is really a farm boy golden retriever type of guy who would do anything for family, emotions are exposed for Morgan and she’s not sure how to deal with them.
Fun and feisty banter between all the characters. Just wish there was a bit more about ‘the job’.
I’ll continue reading this series (and go back and read book 1), and book 3 when it’s released.
I received this book as an ARC and I’m willingly leaving this review.
This is the 2nd book in the Troublemakers and Heartbreakers series. This book introduces us to Morgan and Brody. They are both complex characters with complicated pasts but they handle things in very different ways. Both Morgan and Brody have to overcome their issues while they are forced to be in close quarters. We get to meet Brody's family and see more of Morgans. I really liked this story but felt it dragged a bit toward the beginning. I did like the ending but some items played off book and wished we could read as they happened instead of after the fact. Overall the story itself was very enjoyable. I would really feel more comfortable giving it a 4.4 stars rather than just 4.
I received this arc from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Let me start off by saying I would LOVE a man like Brody 😻😻.
Now, Morgan she is a badass, skillful, intelligent. Starts off thinking she’s not worth it but ends up falling for him and having the life she deserves.
Brody, a man who loves a good bang! Haha. He is a man who knows what he wants, loves his family and ends up loving the sass and determination of her.
Coming together to be partners on a job, one a skillful planner and the other the one in charge of the big bang. Having to live together to plan, to getting caught up, straight to not talking? All to fall back together and finally give in.
I loved it all, the depth of the characters and storyline were just so well thought out.

Mary Cain does it again! I loved Bang just as much as I loved Hustle. I think for me Brody(MMC) and Morgan’s (FMC) relationship are very relatable in some aspects. I just love how Brody stands up to Morgan’s family but isn’t a complete jerk about it and he’s patient with her but also doesn’t put up with her crap. I also love that Brody lives on a farm in rural Maryland because I also live in rural Maryland, it was nice to see some odes to Maryland. I also love the Troublemakers series because the storylines are different from some of the typical romance novels.
If some of your favorite tropes are: Enemies to lovers Sassy FMC Forced Proximity Slow burn but with good amount of spice Ocean 11 Vibes
Bang is the second book in the Troublemakers and Heartbreakers series. This book follows Morgan, Logan Cash's little sister, as she and Brody plan a new heist. Although, the book is more focused on their actual relationship than the heist itself. Bang is a fun read, with witty banter between Morgan and Brody and their slow-burn enemies to lovers romance. You also get the city girl, country boy clash, but Morgan doesn't seem to mind the country at all. There are appearances by Drew and Logan, you learn about Brody's family, and some interesting details about Morgan and Logan's childhoods. The book is a good time, and it makes you happy. I'm looking forward to book 3!
I absolutely devoured this book! Brody is the perfect MMC! Of course, he has a criminal side and likes to play with bombs, but he is also so sweet and wholesome and will do absolutely anything for Morgan! I feel like the two of them were perfect for each other. Morgan is a sassy badass that doesn't take crap from anybody. Morgan and Brody were the perfect combination of stubborn! I absolutely loved the banter in this book and how Brody was not afraid to show or tell Morgan what she deserved.
The story flows so well with great character development and keeps you hooked wanting to know what it is next! The only reason I didn't finish in one sitting is because I actually had to be an adult and work!
Definitely recommend that you read this one! The title sums it up perfectly!
This book was the perfect enemies to lovers. Morgan is a badass female lead, who at times can be reckless. Brody on the other hand is a bit of a jokster and a flirt. I loved the whole cat and mouse game at the beginning. Both trying to be sneaky towards each other in retaliation for stealing important belongings. The character development was good, it's cute how protective Logan is of Morgan, even though he rarely agrees with the things she does. The spice was definitely spicing. I would highly recommend this book if you enjoy strong FMCs and hunky farmers.
Bang is book two of the Troublemakers and Heartbreakers Series.
The story kept me interested from start to finish. I was really excited to delve into Morgan's story and this one was amazing!
Brody and Morgan have intense chemistry. It was more of a slow burn but once we got to the spicy moments it was definitely worth the wait. There is a lot of tension between these two as they have to work together to plan a heist, but the story more focuses on their relationship developing.
This was a fun and enjoyable read. I can't wait for book three.
If you thought book one was good, then you’re seriously going to devour this one! I will forever be a sucker for a good enemies to lovers story and this one did not disappoint. It grabs ahold of you and does not let go! I was utterly absorbed in this story and characters. But let’s not overlook the intimacy the author so artfully weaves into the narrative. It was sensual without being gratuitous, and it left me swooning for more. I can’t wait for the next installment—book three can’t come soon enough! Till next time Troublemakers 💋
You know the spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️ And the rating ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The story moves quickly, full of surprises that’ll keep you hooked and reading long into the night and am in my case. But what truly makes Bang stand out are its characters. Morgan and Brody feel incredibly real and easy to connect to. The depth of introspection Mary Cain brings to her characters is impressive. Every decision they make—from simple breakfast choices to the ridiculous, impulsive moves they make—feels spot-on for their personalities and histories. I love that with this book one get a little bit of everything such as romance, humor, action and page turning twists.
Bang, Troublemakers and Heartbreakers book 2 by Mary Cain really blew me away! I love how feisty and sassy Morgan is yet, has some real relatable issues and oh, how swoony is Brody? Brody is one sweet hunk of a man with some flaws of his own. I think they make the cutest couple. I enjoyed seeing Drew and Logan and I think Buster adorable! Can’t wait to see what happens in Score!
This is the second book in the Troublemakers and heartbreakers series, but unlike some other series that can trail off the storyline, this reels you in from the start. The challenges the two characters face, apart and together, add so much depth to the story. You just keep coming back for more. There’s the banter we love, slow-burn, spice, and edges that keep you on your toes. You’ll have all the feels reading Morgan and Brody’s story. Chef’s kiss!
Oh my goodness I am obsessed with Morgan and Brody! The banter and spice in this book had me hooked! These two go from enemies to lovers in the most untraditional way. From Morgan stealing Brody’s bomb during a heist to being roommates, these two bring you through all the emotions. Also the ending, ahhh I can’t wait to read more! Highly recommend!
What do you get when you mix a sweet farmer/bomb enthusiast + a fiesty safe-cracking genius? Smokin hot chemistry, fun witty banter & exciting surprises!! This book was such a fun read & that slow burn lead up was scorching. I loved learning more about Morgan & seeing a different side to her. Overall this was another fantastic romance by Mary Cain!
Very cute story. I really liked most of it! However, It seemed to have a little disconnect between the main story and the side story in which the MCs were supposed to be planning a heist. The heist plot seemed like an afterthought. I think if the planning of the heist had taken up more time rather than just the budding relationship, it would have been more exciting.

Finally got round to reading this gorgeous book not this is book 2 Hustle is book one and omg it didn't disappoint, Morgan remind me a bit like myself haha I just loved her character so much such a risk taker and so clear and such a brat at time but omg brody really has his hands full but best read so far absolutely loved it love the sass can't wait for next one.
I was sooo happy to see Morgan get a book! I loved her in the first one. I was nervous this one wouldn’t hold up to the high standard I expect after reading Hustle but it blew me away! Mary Cain has quickly become an “automatic read” author for me! She does not disappoint. These fast paced books suck you in and don’t let you go until the end.
I absolutely love Morgan! She is a mix of fire and ice and Brody doesn’t miss a beat giving as much as he takes! The hate to love energy is divine! I was worried with this being the second book in the troublemakers series there would be some let downs but that thought quickly existed my mind! Mary Cain showed up to the slow burn, enemy to lovers game and knew exactly how to play the game!
So let me tell you this if you loved Hustle you are going to be obsessed with Bang. I never thought I would like anymore more than Logan and Drew but boy was I wrong. Morgan is a firecracker( pun intended ) she is not scared of being independent and dare I say a better con artist than the original Mr.Logan him self. Let’s not forget Brody and his love for a good Bang, if you catch my drift. I cannot wait for a new book in this series. Until next time, be wild troublemakers.
This is the first book I read by Mary Cain and I can honestly say I loved it. The chemistry that Morgan and Brody have was my favorite. I loved the playfulness from them. I love that they care about each other's family. Absolutely adding to my list when the physical copy comes out.
