War, like love, demands sacrifice. In the fourth book of The Garden of Beastly Delights series, shifter queen-to-be Natalie discovers that to save her people, she may have to sacrifice herself. And even if the war doesn’t kill her, love might.
When Natalie Damarand became Lady of the Eighth Kingdom, she leaned into the political intrigue of the other shifter courts, made alliances, and navigated her stormy mating bond to the secretive and seductive Raven King.
But it left her vulnerable to an enemy always two steps ahead. A mysterious cult working to diabolical ends who have their sights set on her for reasons she doesn’t yet understand. Although she has survived the cult’s attempts to kill her before, rising tensions within the werewolf court have escalated to war. Factions have formed. Betrayals are mounting. And Natalie must grow into her own power if she hopes to survive with her soul and her kingdom intact.
As the war rages, Natalie suspects that even her closest allies may be plotting against her, and love may just be one more weapon in their arsenal.
This seems like the never ending series, I’m so disappointed to have just discovered, upon downloading book 5 that it is not the conclusion! And there is no release date for book six! I’ve been disappointed in the MFC’s reactions to discovering every time Rav has lied and manipulated her and her willingness to overlook it, I mean I know most of that is his continued magical manipulation but still, not all….ugh. It’s just drug on to long, too much detail of every little war move happening etc…the heroine doesn’t feel like she’s growing into something better! At all. I’m not sure I’ll even continue with book 5 now! Knowing there’s no resolution in sight with no date for book 6 and not even knowing if that’s the conclusion of the series! So disappointing! Feel like I wasted my time, I read ALOT and I certainly don’t want to have to reread the whole thing once it’s finally finished to be able to know whole story. Ugh. I usually don’t read unfinished series until they’re done, but I didn’t catch that fact this time, my bad I guess. But it’s been moving so slowly that I was considering just shelving it unfinished anyways, even 4 freaking books in, ugh, I mean the story is good! But it just rambles on too dang much! It’s too long, and frankly any spice finally, just wasn’t that much, like a one on the scale to five. I hate to criticize or leave bad reviews but this was frustrating.
Love love loved this book. A beautiful installment in this series. Sierra’s writing is so captivating and descriptive. She gives us complex characters, with redeeming and infuriating and realistic qualities. I can’t wait for the next book!
My girlfriend and I have been reading this series together and couldn't wait to read this new installment when it came out. Literally, we ordered it the first day, got home from work and both went to town on it.
SO good. Awesome action. Prynne knows how to contract and expand her worlds so well. The last book was huge, went everywhere, and this one is "smaller" but doesn't feel like it AT ALL. Such great twists, but also really good build and foreshadowing. Plus, each character feels entirely real and entirely different from the next.
Also, no spoilers, but when the FMC starts feeling...different...I loved how it was written. That's really hard to write and still be digestible and Prynne managed it. Will def be reading the next one.
What I love most about this series is just how grounded it still manages to be despite the crazy fantastical stuff going on. I feel like I could walk in these characters' shoes (and I SO WANT TO). Great action. Really cool use of magical abilities. And I love the fact that the writing is so beautiful on top of all of that. Not to mention the cool little details. Like, not getting into spoilers, but just certain things have me rethinking moments from other books and AH! I cannot wait until the whole series is finished so I can read it over again knowing the twists.
OMG 😱 this was a a page turner and the suspense was intense. I were blown away it was off the charts. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. It was addicted. The characters were captivating and entertaining of emotions of feelings and intrigue. The love and passion between them was sweet and spicy with a deep of romance. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
Holy moly. I was not prepared for the tight, tense rollercoaster that is this book. The worldbuilding, as always, is immaculate. The romantic tension--10/10. So much intrigue. So many twists! And yet the entire time, I was SO invested, tweezing apart word choice and character decision to figure out what our Raven Queen would be facing next.
WHY DOESN'T THIS WORLD REALLY EXIST?!?!
Couldn't put it down. CANNOT WAIT for the next book!
I am speechless… I have so many emotions going through my head writing this review! Throughout the whole book, I was pissed, excited, hopeful and just speechless. I have NEVER been so invested in a book series! Natalie (main character) has grown SO much over that past 4 books and I just can’t wait to read the next one!
I dug this. Action packed and full of surprises, and I really appreciate how real the FMC feels, even with so much fantasy swirling around her.
This installment also has a really cool vibe to it--like, it's very intense, the stakes are high and the character is struggling throughout, but it's still so encouraging and uplifting. I was rooting for her the whole time.
Tell me why I sat down thinking I'd read this amazing story in chunks, and then looked up a few hours later bawling my eyes out at the end, realizing I'd read the whole thing in one sitting!
Absolutely unreal how well written and expansive this series is, and you get sucked back in (marvelously!) time and time again. Massive emotional cliffhanger at the end of this one, so very impatient for the next book. WOW, just…wow.
I hope we don’t have to wait long (doesn’t seem like we usually have to, which is amazing and kudos to you!) for the next one. Because what was that ending?! 😭 I love this series. Just when I think I know what’s happening everything changes again and I’m left thinking, what?
A phenomenal addition to this series! Sierra has out done herself again! I have to say this again , this has turned into my favorite shifters series. The characters grow with each book and the plot gets even more intense! I can't wait for the next book!
I am loving this series!! That cliffhanger was a huge unexpected twist!! Natalie is growing with each book…I love her strength…Jumping into book 5 now!!
