DNF.

I just can't with this one! First we learn heroine became a ho during the separation (she slept around A LOT), then we have a Hero who is a momma's boy and a wimp (every time heroine gives him the stink eye, the cold shoulder and whatnot, he runs away like a wounded animal to go sulk and comes back for repeats). I got to 30% or so before I gave up because both MCs are unlikable, have no chemistry and besides a horny heroine and a Hero playing the martyr as the "good son", there is nothing remotely interesting to keep my attention whatsoever. Awful writing BTW..

At 30% or so we still don't know the reason for the breakup but it is hinted that H's mom had cancer and was/is gravely ill and he may have stayed home to take care of his mom and didn't want to tie down heroine to his problems. In the present, he is still hiding the fact that his mom is sick and they haven't even discussed the reason behind the breakup, nor do we know if he has been celibate or not but at this point I don't give a flipping care.

3.5 ⭐️ This story was actually pretty good. The only thing that I would have appreciated was to have Blake’s point of view. I think reading his point of view during the story would have taken it to another level and made it 4 or 4.5 star read for me. Also I was a little confused about their ages. Chris was the older brother and Blake was his best friend so I would think they were the same age. How would Wren and Blake have been applying to the same college at the same time?? Shouldn’t he have already been in college at least a year by then if not more? Maybe I missed it but the age gap seems off.

✨️I'm not usually the biggest fan of a second chance romance, but this was written well. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the two main characters. I loved reading about their childhood and relationship before, and wished there were more flashbacks. Overall, if you love a sweet, second chance romance with the banter and some spice, give this book a read!

Homesick was excellent. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Second chance romance is beautiful. I always love hearing real life stories of people who were in love as teenagers and then reconnect later in life. So touching and heatwarming. Which is exactly what this novel was. I loved Wren and Blake and their reconnection. Their friends and family were great too. Wren's brother Chris was especially good at creating forced proximity for them! The novel is written in first person from Wren's POV which I liked. Sometimes it simpler to read from one person's point. If you love second chance romance then I highly recommend. Even if you didn't I would still recommend it!!!

Homesick was a charming second-chance romance. Blake and Wren embark on the journey of rediscovery and reconnecting.

A quick read that is written wonderfully. The characters were relatable, and the story was intriguing. It included a series of flashbacks that brought the story full circle. I enjoyed the witty banter and the sexual tension. The spice was on point.

This was a great quick read, full of tension, banter, and some spicy scenes.

I do love a good second chance romance, and this one was done really well.

Wren, who was heartbroken, spent years distancing herself from her life and family when Blake broke things off with her.
When suddenly her life took an unexpected turn, she found herself back in her hometown and forced to work alongside Blake.

It was cute, fun, and very entertaining, definitely one I will read again.

My second amazing read by this author & I was not disappointed! I love the small town, brothers best friend, highschool romance feels between Wren & Blake. There was so much emotion between the two of them, and great chemistry & spice! I loved the emphasis that we all think leaving home is going to be what we want and need, but really sometime home is the best and only place we truly should be forever.

Homesick is a delightful second-chance romance that completely won me over, despite usually not being a fan of the trope. The story centres on Wren Campbell and Blake Fisher, childhood sweethearts whose relationship didn’t survive the challenges of long distance. Now, 6 years later, they find themselves back in the same small town, and the undeniable pull between them is stronger than ever.

The chemistry between Wren and Blake is electric, with just the right mix of rude but cute banter that keeps things interesting. There’s a bit of spice in their interactions that adds an extra layer of tension, making their eventual reconnection feel all the more satisfying. The dialogue is sharp and engaging, and you can feel the history between them in every exchange.

That said, it’s important to note that *Homesick* does come with some trigger warnings, including sex scenes, sexual harassment, alcohol consumption, and profanity. These elements are woven into the story in a way that feels authentic to the characters and their experiences, but readers should be aware before diving in.

Overall, Homesick is a heartwarming and steamy read that had me rooting for Wren and Blake from start to finish. If you’re into second-chance romances with plenty of heat and a touch of sass, this one is definitely worth picking up!

This was a great read!
Some parts definitely hit home for me which made this book extra special.
I was giggling the majority of this book !
I will always love a second chance romance, especially when they are set in a small town and they are each others first loves (it is honestly perfection in a book).

This was such a cute story! I love a good second chance years later. I’m currently obsessed with cowboy romances, and ranch hands fall right into that category for me. The build up and the tension in the book was so good!

If you love small town, ranch vibe, quick reads, this is definitely the book for you!

We love a good second chance with childhood friends who fell for eachother!! Wren and Blake were so cute. Wren trying to not fall back for her ex and Blake trying his hardest to be her friend again. Second chances are so sweet and break your heart at first but then slowly repair it when the story is over and this on does that. It was such a cute and easy read, also who doesn't love a good cowboy romance.... also who is trying to be a vet. Just saying guys who love animals are top tier!! Watching Wren slowly try and find her footing but eventually get it and figure out what she wants to do, was amazing to see. I can't wait to see what else this author has in store for us!!

This has to be the cutest and realist second chance romance I’ve read to date.

Wren is too much like me (and I mean like too much and it hit hard) her distancing herself when everything felt like it was closing in, I get it.

And Blake finally opening up to her after all those years. My heart😭😭

i've had the pleasure of reading tyra lynn's first book as an arc so it was a no-brainer that i had to sign up for this one as well and i can gladly say i'm becoming a big fan of her writing!!

as you all probably know by now, i'm a huge small town lover, but throw in forced proximity with him being her brother's best friend as well? obviously i'd devour it!! it took me almost only a day to finish with how fun and easy to read it was, it basically read itself

wren and blake, being already in a relationship once before, had some unresolved tension between them, going from hate - mostly from wren's side - to fwb - to realising how in love with each other they still are. we also get a few glimpses of their past friendship and relationship that may result in a few of the present steamy scenes the book has to offer🤭

overall the book was highly enjoyable, filled with emotions and funny moments.. don't expect anything groundbreaking but a great time is guaranteed!!

Wren and Blake were wonderful, and I loved their story. They also felt super real and relatable, which is huge. From vulnerability and reflecting on the past to moving forward, from cuteness to steam, this whole book was great.

There aren’t TOO many characters in this book, just those who really matter. Even characters who are introduced quickly are likable. Chris is such a great brother, and I absolutely loved Sheila. I also loved that even though of course the focus is Wren and Blake’s relationship, you’re also drawn to wanting to know more about Blake’s education, Wren’s business, and the side friendships.

I read Tyra’s first novel Trinity Point as an ARC and loved it, so jumped at the opportunity to read Homesick, and Tyra did not disappoint with her second novel. I cannot wait to find out what she gives us in the future. I hear it may be Emma’s turn next!

This was a cute, easy read! I do love a small
town romance, they just make you smile. Wren and Blake were such relatable characters especially the anxiety rep, I was rooting for them from the start, loved them!
I would have like a little bit more spice if I'm being picky but that's just me.
I'm not normally a big fan of second chance but I enjoyed this, over all a great read.

Wren Campbell is lost in life. She has spent the past six years running away from the people she loves after her high school sweetheart broke her heart.

When she loses a job she really didn’t like anyways, she is forced to move back to her family farm and confront her past. Little does she know, her ex (and brother’s best friend) Blake Fisher is also helping out on the farm. When Blake and Wren are forced to run the farm without Wren’s brother, they have to decide whether to keep each other at a distance or admit they still want to be together after all this time.

So for the first half of this book I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to give it more than 3 stars but honestly it was more due to editing than storyline. For example in the first few chapters the writing was kind of repetitive and just felt “off.” Or sometimes the word choice made the flow feel strange, like when characters would say “however” when I feel like in real life people would just say “but.” But that’s just how I feel about that one lol.

I’m glad I stuck with it though, because about halfway through we get the first proper spicy scene and I LOVED IT and for whatever reason the book really picked up after that point and became really good! Like if the whole book had been that way the book easily would have been 4.5-5 stars. The spice in the second half was perfect for what I wanted and we really got more of a story and got to know the characters’ personalities and voices a lot more.

I also loved the exploration between Wren, who is unmarried without kids, finding her way, and Emma, who is married with a baby, and the discussions it brought up about everyone having their own path and that it is okay to question your choices.

Wren and Blake were high school sweethearts determined to get through a long distance relationship until, one day, Blake broke Wren’s heart. Wren was devastated and spent six years running away from the place where her heart was shattered and hating the man who broke her. After a failed career in the city, Wren is forced to move home to the family farm and start trying to pick up the pieces of her life. Life becomes even more complicated when Wren is forced to not only see Blake every day at her farm but also work with him. Wren clearly is still attracted to Blake and can’t keep her eyes off him, but she also can’t stand the man and runs away every chance she can.
I love Tyra Lynn’s writing style. It is easy to follow and flows smoothly. I don’t ever feel lost in the setting, plots, or characters. There was so much heart between the two main characters. This book really captures the complexities of small town young romances. It shows how people grow, and sometimes hard changes have to happen in order for the growth to take place. It also shows how choosing love as a teenager can change later in life when the people have matured. Emma’s story reminded me of a country song (Reba’s Is There Life Out There) where women tend to get directed towards marriage and babies before they even know who they are and what they may want with life.
Most of the book was a love/hate battle between the characters and their own feelings. As with Trinity Point, Tyra’s first novel, I enjoyed seeing a mid-twenty year old not knowing what she wants to do with her life. It is such a realistic theme where many young adults are expected to choose a career very early on and not question it. I felt like I had been to Honey Grove by the end of the novel and knew the small town like it was my own. I enjoyed the ending as the characters still chose their dreams, but also how those dreams only existed with each other. Homesick is a testament to how love can grow, change, and shatter.

After eleven years of separate paths, I found my way back to my middle school/high school sweetheart, and we have since married. The book’s exploration of enduring connections and the idea that true love can withstand the test of time resonated profoundly with my own life story.

Lynn’s portrayal of the complexities of rekindling a past relationship, while also navigating personal growth and change, felt eerily familiar. Before starting with the review, I would like to thanks both the author Tyra Lynn and SunnyBabePR for the ARC. I provided my honest review after reading the ARC.

Wren Campbell is a bit lost. For the last six years, she's been avoiding everyone she cares about since her high school boyfriend shattered her heart. When she gets fired from a job she wasn’t too fond of anyway, she has no choice but to head back to her family farm and face her past. To her surprise, her ex, Blake Fisher—who also happens to be her brother’s best friend—is working on the farm too.
Now that Wren’s brother is out of the picture for a bit, Wren and Blake have to run the farm together. They need to figure out whether they’re going to stay distant or finally admit they might still have feelings for each other after all these years.
The book's first real spicy scene shows up about halfway through, and I absolutely loved it. The romance in the second half was just what I was looking for, and we got to dive deeper into who the characters really are.
I also really enjoyed how the book explored the different paths in life, like Wren being single and figuring things out, compared to Emma, who’s married with a kid. It sparked some interesting conversations about how everyone’s journey is different and how it’s totally fine to question the choices you've made.

For me this was a solid 4 stars and I really enjoyed it.

I didn’t really know what to expect going into this but I saw ‘small town’ and ‘forced proximity’ as a couple of the main tropes and I signed up straight away to this ARC… Plus the cover intrigued me too. I know, I know. I judge a book by it's cover!

The second chance trope isn’t usually one of my favourites but I loved this one. Wren (FMC) and Blake (MMC) make such a cute couple who you are rooting for from the very beginning. The slow burn is written really well and the tension makes you want to read it in one sitting.

Its a great book that explores first love and how even though love should conquer all, time and life decisions can have a massive effect on a relationship that starts young. Yes, the characters are flawed and a little naïve at times, but these elements only make them more relatable.

I am interested in some of the side characters mentioned in this book because although I think this is a good read as a standalone, I do think there is perhaps an interconnected book for one of the other characters in the pipeline.

It’s a super quick read and acts as a good palette cleanser between heavier reads. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Homesick left me with a nostalgic feeling that I just can't shake. I went into this book after reading the tropes and seeing it was a quick read, not expecting to have a lot of feelings. I'm so glad I was wrong.

This was a quick read for me, but it was written so beautifully! I was sad to see "the end." I wanted more of Blake and Wren. Second chance romance books always have me by the heartstrings.

"I’m not letting you go again, Wren. I love you.”

We start the story when Wren has to move back to her family's farm after losing her job. From there, we learn that it's been six years since Blake and Wren's heartbreak. We see flashbacks to before and how deeply they fell in love.

Over the pages, we see them fall in love again (not that they ever really fell out of love!) And start a new beginning together. I was routing for them the whole way! (And while I was first upset with Emma, I quickly forgave her). I hope we get her story next!

Homesick by Tyra Lynn is a small town contemporary romance and it was such a cute, fun and quick read.

Wren’s heart yearns for the small town of Honey Grove, but one man has ruined her fond memories of home for the last six years. Blake was always meant to be Wren's endgame until he became the architect of her heartbreak.

I loved following along with their story as they try to navigate their not forgotten feelings and their new lives. There was chemistry, banter and forced proximity. The story was told from Wren’s pov and she was so relatable. I hope we get a story from Emma’s new found freedom. She Wren’s from childhood best friend and was there to pick up all the pieces

This is the first book I read from Tyra Lynn and I fell in love with her writing style from the beginning. It is easy to follow and it’s one of those books where you forget you’re reading. I will definitely be reading more .

If you like tropes such as Forced proximity, Second chance, first love, brother's best friend and secret romance. This book is for you.

I love me a small town romance, and even better when its a brothers best friend small town romance 🥰

Blake and Wren have a lot of history between them, which makes for a really heartwarming story. The familiarity and comfort they feel simply being in eachothers presence is so cute. They pick up right where they left off, with six years of growing up under their belts.

Such a cute small town, brother’s best friend romance 🥺 I flew through this book!! It was such a short & sweet read. One of those romance books you’d read on a gloomy, rainy day to make the day better 😂

I loved the true feeling of Honey Grove’s small town. The farm life, all of the characters are soo close & you really are able to imagine what this place looks & feels like. I LOVED the short & sweet banter between Blake and Wren. I did feel as though the “second chance” still felt a little toxic by the end of it? Although we knew Wren wanted Blake as much as she said she did…. It felt as if the vibes were still a bit off or she wasn’t 100% sure of her decision.

We also got a few spicy scenes!! I am curious to see if there’s will be anything more on Emma’s life if there are more books to follow Homesick 🥺
All in all, I would definitely recommend!

Homesick is a beautifully written, sweet small town romance which shows us that home is always a safe space to land. After FMC Wren loses her job, she is forced back to her small town, helping out on her family farm when her brother injures himself. As if this wasn’t enough of a time warp, enter her high school sweetheart Blake, who broke her heart six years ago. Instantly Wren is transported back to high school, living in her parent’s house with no job and no prospects to leave town.

I’m a city girl myself, but this novel had me wanting to jump in the nearest truck and go live out all the small town romance fantasies. The second chance romance between Wren and Blake is feisty, poignant and tragic and ripped at my heart in the best way. The story is really a love letter to the towns and loves we left behind and shows us there is always hope to find ourselves again after heart break.
