Good, But
I like the writing and the story. Couple things that annoyed me. One: the MC whining about having to be in charge. It is what it is. The repetition got old fast. Two: way too much detail in fights and dungeons. Especially dungeons. My own preference is for things to move faster. So, I began skipping pages to get beyond the drawn out stuff.
I plan to read the next.

This is the second in a Post Apocalyptic Earth, LitRPG series and it starts after Lochlan and his daughters exit their first Dungeon. They've all gotten stronger and leveled up and head to town, on their way to see if their home still exists and if there is any sign of Kelly. They meet up with a father (Peter) and son (Davis), on their way into Northwood, out scavenging for supplies. Davis was Harper's crush pre-apocalypse and she and her family help he and his Dad to level up and get stronger. They meet a lot of enemies getting to town, where they find more than 100 weak survivors in an poorly defended location, where people are dying every day. Lochlan has to decide if getting home is more important than helping the people right in front of him and this book is mostly the steps he takes to step up and help the people of this Vermont community to level up and survive in the System.
I liked the way the author turned a grocery store and clan home into a challenge, as it leaves for some interesting additional challenges moving forward. Also, the focus on how to live in a post apocalyptic Earth is interesting, but hopefully won't get too depressing as one of the aspects I've enjoyed in this was the wit and humor between the Brady family members.
Biggest complaint, Lochlan doesn't trust Cerie (the fairy) because she's not giving him every detail of the system up front, but she's the main reason he and his daughters have been able to get as leveled and powerful as they are. I think something needs to knock the chip off his shoulder (Or he could aim less less lingering resentment towards her.)
Overall, an action packed, thrill of a ride with compelling characters and forewarning interludes snuck in to warn of things to come. I'm looking forward to the next in September. I recommended this series for those who enjoy a solid LitRPG, Post Apocalyptic Earth or books with an Alien remade Earth system with a family working together to survive.

An Okay book that misses out on Good
The created world here is very interesting and slightly different. I appreciate and even enjoy what the author is doing here. What I don’t appreciate is the repeating of the same information, over and over again. It just becomes annoying when reminded of the same information chapter after chapter. What the author should be doing is showing us the character stats. The book got to 70% done before we ever saw the full status of the main character. I guess because these characters advance so incredibly slowly that it was thought to be okay. Self doubt and second guessing oneself seems to be a main character trait for everybody. But they seem to work their way through it and actually perform some amazing fight scenes. The way this is written, it could be a huge series, hopefully with better stat growth and displaying of that information.

A System Trying to Kill Humans for Earth
Being Connected doesn't mean you'll live without fighting for your life and for those weaker then you. With most of the humans killed off when the world changed, the survivors must get stronger. The only way is to get levels and the most common way is to kill monsters that are trying to kill you.
Loch and his daughters, Harper and Piper, have been put into very tough situations that they have to fight with everything they are and come out barely surviving, but still barely is still surviving. When they come across people they know that are worse off then themselves, they fight harder to save everyone.
Lock begins a Clan as the leader, but doesn't want the position. He has to rely on people he barely knows to help all the survivors to live and gain levels and abilities.
Life is not easy!
Long but enjoyable read.

Too much time in the dungeon!
I found the characters to be interesting and likeable, but not too bright. I mean, they never considered a wagon or maybe a travois to carry supplies. Battle and dungeon events went on way too long. The story is worth a read. I just speed read thru the overlong battles.
I hope that one of the characters invents the wheel In the next book! The youngest daughter has an incredible ability that is way underused. The MC needs to take charge and stop trying to be a nice guy.

great read but needs some editing
I’ve really enjoyed this series so far. The main character is a bit melodramatic at times, but overall the characters are developing well and are likable. There are some editing issues, things that happened earlier that the main character seems to have forgotten about happening. An example is finding a mitheril bar in the first book but pondering if the metal existed in the 2nd book. Overall a good read.

Very good continuation of the warbreaker series. The premise is what it is. System killing humans, meh. The MC is slightly annoying, complains too much, finds loot in the dungeon in an earlier book, specifically healing potions and they all seem to have forgotten about it. To the detriment of the MC friend and a few side characters. The fights are well constructed a 10/10. Also the MC does not trust his inherited slave spirit construct, and yet because of her, knows more than everyone else and yet he keeps playing the victim of lack of information - some reverse mind boggling jutsu here.

Didn't have the same oomph that the 1st book had for me but was still a fun and enjoyable read wish there was more status updates though some prolly get annoyed by the constant text but I enjoyed reading/seeing the xp gains and skill gains and most were kinda pushed to the side still has a good foundation though hope to see some better progression in the next book.

Very good read
The characters are evolving and learning to live in their new world. World that is growing quite literally. A Mc that just wants to keep his family safe, two daughters that are seeing more death than anyone should, and trouble all around.

Great series
Have enjoyed both books. The Connection makes sense and the World it is building. There is both Action and depth to the characters.

Needs an editor
Great story, but there are lots and lots of typos that really interrupt the pacing. Wait for a later update that's been corrected.

I liked this second in the series. Going to read more for sure. This is shaping up to be a pretty good series.
