The shadows in Heaven can be darker than the shadows in Hell.
At least in Hell, you know what dangers they hide.
Being a wildland firefighter in Montana is nothing compared to the shitstorm fate has made of my past. I’ve spent years chasing the flames so the nightmares can’t chase me. When I find myself trapped in a loop of disasters, I start to wonder if something more than fate is at play.
Until him, my mystery savior. What should have been a random encounter turns into something far more extraordinary, and completely unbelievable. He says he’s entangled in a cosmic war between Heaven and Hell. Bound by duty, he has one mission. Me.
I thought fighting wildfires was crazy, but not even my tragic past could’ve prepared me for him. I know I should fight against the pull, he’s the definition of forbidden fruit. The problem–resisting him is impossible.
My only hope? Unravel the mysteries and pray that when I step into the fire, I don’t lose myself to the flames.

Now settled in northwest Missouri with her husband and two beloved pups, Samantha has found her own happily ever after—an experience that inspires every word she writes.
Kissing Fire is one of those books which, to me, kinda has everything I'm looking for in a new read. I'm a bit of a sucker for a passionate romance with paranormal elements, so we were already off to a good start—but I honestly never expected to fall for the MMC as much as I did.
Corvus and Valencia are an intriguing pair and I loved their banter and budding romance as much as I loved the intrigue of their story. Perfectly balanced on a knife edge between the strength of a main character and the vulnerability that comes with human nature, I enjoyed being in Valencia's mind and I confess her chapters were a personal favourite to read as I found her so relatable. She remained very real to me throughout and I can't wait for the next release to revisit her mind.
This book is the perfect start to something epic and I loved experiencing how these characters interacted with one another. They also start to go through incredible journeys of growth and realisation and I get the distinct impression this will only continue as the series progresses, which excites me greatly.
I felt hooked from the very first page I read and, honestly, this read was such a pleasure <3
I was hooked from the beginning and needed all the answers! It’s a refreshing not full on fantasy, fantasy romance with a hot demon MMC and a totally badass wildland firefighter FMC. He’s possessive and gives off MAJOR who hurt you vibes.
I laughed, I cried you have the perfect comedic best friend side kick! I absolutely loved this book.
If you are a diehard romantasy lover this one may be a little different but for someone like me who is just getting to fantasy reads it was the perfect combination! It does leave off on a cliffhanger with a mostly happy ending. I am on pins and needles for book 2 and uncovering more pieces of Val’s puzzle and her significance to the Devil!!
Interesting troupe with a firefighter and demon, I was surprised how quickly I got sucked in. Ironically just finished watching the tv series Fire Country the book gave off those vibes with Supernatural twist. The slow burn was killer for this smut lover but when those chapters came phew 😅🔥 worth the wait! Lastly the fight scene writing was great, I was on edge and could literally picture the scene! Great work, now anxiously waiting for book 2!
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I think it’s important to note to really get through the first few chapters, I think it will be hard for a lot of readers in this genre because it is very different than what we are typically reading (certainly my first time reading about firemen and fantasy together). But it will pick up and it will suck you in, I promise! I think it is a great story, and I so appreciate how new it seems. I also really loved how the story was obviously a cliffhanger, but not so much that I am going to be in a death grip unable to read anything else until the next book comes out. It ends on a *somewhat* good note, much appreciated honestly. Overall, very new elements to the story that I enjoyed enough to give this a 4.75 rating (you know if partial stars were an option). READ THIS BOOK!!!!
I FINISHED BRO WTF!!! Who the hell is after her “no pun intended”
I NEED to know what her story is LOL
Love that the devil is a women. The smut was smuttyyyyyy btw
My favorite part was honestly the attack in the fire when she kinda became her true self even though she doesn’t know what it means yet! That was a big part for the storyline and you executed it very well! Also I love how I feel like Corvus has more emotion than Valencia. Like she feels things but I feel like he really feels things which is weird coming from a demon. Ugh I loved it ! 🥰
I would say that I have to give it 4 stars ⭐️ only because myself I shouldn’t have started this when I was in a slump, so the beginning I just had a hard time reading like it took me a week to get to 50% but that was because I just wasn’t reading , so not the books fault at all. I’m also I really hard 5 ⭐️ giver these days especially when I’m really not a huge fantasy girly. But I also loved that nothing was like hard to understand .
I loved the fire fighters theme also as my grandpa was a fire fighter and he recently passed about a year and a half ago so I loved that immensely.

Phew! This story had me hooked with intrigue and speculation. The constant state of guessing helped pull me through with some of the slower parts, though the slower parts were needed for both build up and explanation.
Aside from the questions, of which there are many, after finishing, I do have to comment on the characters themselves. For the side characters, they are rich with their own characteristics and emotions, and I feel as if they too have in-depth backstories that could be shared and explored. I'm hopeful for one specific character but I won't give anything away. The relationships that the main characters had, both Valencia and Corvus, showed the different facets of their personalities and I appreciated how true they stayed to those relationships in times of turmoil.
As for Valencia, she has growth potential moving onward. I never quite felt fully connected with her even though we did get some of her reasoning of why she is the way she is. I feel a big shift coming for her and wonder how she will respond with what comes next. Then for Corvus ... sweet, spicy, loveable Corvus, I too feel like he needs a deeper dive into his character arc. The ending put both main characters in uncharted territory, who knows what will happen next.
I really enjoyed this first installment of the series. The fire rescue element of the fmc is so different than any of my other reads it was a such a nice change. There’s still a lot of plot and mystery to uncover and the slow burn between the main characters is so tantalizing. I can’t wait to read the next one and try to figure out what’s going on.
Samantha did an amazing job grabbing my attention and holding it the entire book. She slowly developed the plot and the character relationships. You feel like you really know these characters. Need the next book now (but I know it’ll be worth the wait). HIGHLY RECOMMEND***
I’m not really into this type of genre, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and read it. I love how the author wrote her story line. I could not put this book down! I can’t wait for her next book to come out.
Loved this book, it’s original and keeps you engaged the whole time. Val is fierce and loyal, Corvus is intriguing the chemistry between them is off the charts. I can’t wait to dive into the next one.
I stepped out of my comfort zone reading this book and it was so worth it! The deep and dark romance stole my attention and I could not put this book down. 10/10 recommend giving this book a read! For those who are into passionate romance with a dark twist, you’ll love this book.
Omg. It was absolutely amazing, I couldn't put it down it was that good. Demon x Firefighter ....this was a combo I didn't knew I needed. So amazing I really really can't wait for book 2. I absolutely need more
I liked this book! Wasn’t too deep or complex, but I love the world building that is happening. An interesting twist on Angels vs Demons, can’t wait to read the next!
This book held me captive for two days! I couldn’t put it down. I kept wondering what was going to happen next, the romance, the sort of slow burn…ugh loved it.
