Oh my gosh!!’ This was so awesome!! Richie was smarter than Claire from book one. Not that I didn’t like her, she just made some off the wall choices. Richie scared me for a bit. There’s lots of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages to find out what happens. And yes, just like in book one, there’s a moment I would have thrown this book if I had a paperback 🤣 which I intent to get by the way. And I’m peeved!! Where is Donavan? Running around in the background isn’t enough. I really liked Remi. And I loved the epilogue. Can’t wait for the spin-off books!! I highly recommend both books!

4 stars

I had been eagerly anticipating the second installment, and while there were aspects that didn’t quite meet my expectations, there were still parts that I enjoyed. The introduction of the drinking element with the main character felt a bit abrupt, as did the romantic development between Richard and Remi, which I would have liked to see more buildup for.

In the beginning, I struggled with the lack of character development, though the author did improve this as the story went on. However, I didn’t quite connect with the characters on a deeper level and would have loved to feel more immersed in their emotions, fears, and experiences rather than just being told about them.

That being said, the mystery element was engaging and kept me hooked – I finished the book in one sitting! Although one of the antagonists didn’t feel entirely convincing to me, the mystery was strong enough to carry the story. There were also a few loose ends, like the letters that were mailed, which left me with some questions.

Overall, despite these issues, I still enjoyed the book and give it four stars.

This book kept surprising me! I like it as much if not more than the first one. It kept me guessing, hooked me immediately, and continued to surprise me. The plot was always interesting and unexpected.

Narration was great. Christina speaks in a clear and pleasant voice. She does a good job of using different voices for different characters, I always knew exactly who was speaking.

The only reason I didn't give the book a solid 5 stars is because sometimes the actions of the characters don't feel/sound "believable" for lack of a better word. The excitement, fast pace, and narration more than make up for it though! I'll definitely listen to the next in this series.

My first thought, this would make a great movie!
Even though this is the sequel to Blackwood Manor, the way in which Richard, the lead character, discovers the truths about this story, almost make it worthy of a standalone as well.
This book takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that covers the entire spectrum.
And its it all here: drama, horror, humor, fantasy. There are several genres rolled into one, so you get quite a bang for your buck with this book! Even better than the first one, I must
confess. Highly recommend.

A glorious conclusion to a horrible haunting.
With the cliffhanger that book one ended on I was worried how book two would start and end. But Richard did the right thing going back home.
Almost being drug down by his own obsession, he manages to pull himself to the light with the help of those around him. Unlike his family he does not fall into the trap of the obsession that this place holds.
Finding out the truth of what happened to his family and loved ones will lead Richard to the end of the path. Is there light or hellfire at the end of the path? Find out for yourself.

a haunted legacy

Loved the spooky vibes, the way that history interwove itself into the present. It’s a great spooky read with so many wonderful characters that go through a lot of growth. There are little details in this that create almost a perfect storm of terror for everyone in different ways. Really enjoyed both of these Blackwood stories!!

Loved the narration of Christina Fountain, who brings the humour, horror and drama to your ears.

This book will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions .
Richard finds out what happened to family, leading down a path. But is the path full of light or darkness. We have drama horror and yes humour. A book that will keep you on your toes.

Much better than the first. Still had quite a few issues and several inconsistencies but easier to look past this time around. Gave RoseRed vibes.

This book was so worth the wait!! Ashley has knocked it out with another great suspense book ... couldn't put it down until the end.
Richard returns to hopefully find the answers surrounding the deaths of his family 10 years ago at Blackwood Manor, along with 3 of his closest friends but he also learns things about himself that helps him solve the mystery of what happened to his family and Blackwood Manor.
