Had the pleasure of listening to and seeing Toosy share some of the brilliant ideas from this book as well — a must-read for anyone interested in oracy.
An absolutely fantastic read! The book is engaging, clearly written, and full of practical examples that make it easy to apply the techniques in real-life contexts. It’s an essential resource for teachers who want to develop students’ oracy skills, but its insights extend far beyond the classroom.

I loved everything about this book! I loved the layout, the readability, the practicality, and of course all the amazing ideas!
Biggest takeaway for me was how to fix all my partner talk moments. Teachers often have those issues where students aren’t fully participating in these “turn and talk” moments. Sometimes you have the kid who doesn’t bother to turn nor talk to their neighbor. This book has the perfect solutions on how to help train students using prompts and tools so as to engage in partner talk more effectively. Can’t wait to try it out!
