This book is seriously epic! Like wow! I was completely blown away by the magnitude of the story! I love the Greek pantheon & I am obsessed with this modern take on The Odyssey. Ellie’s character (the FMC) is so funny but also so vulnerable & relatable. The Found Family in Ink of Copper is beautiful & the resulting banter is *chef kiss* Evander is book boyfriend bae. He is perfection & I will not be taking complaints. I also really love Callassa & Liam’s dynamic. But my favorite character of them all is Valerius. That man’s comedic timing & bone-dry dark humor had me cackling just about every time he opened his mouth! I can’t wait to see more of his antics in book 2! The pacing of the book was medium. It’s a very long book, but don’t let that deter you b/c the story is so so good! The spice? Oooooooh eeemmmmmm gggeeeee. So. Freaking. Hot. Like wow. Hotter than hot. There are just so many reasons Evander is book boyfriend bae. The spice is very high in that list! There were many twists & turns throughout the book & I had fun following that trail of breadcrumbs! The revelation in cliffhanger is a doozy though! Overall this was a really good read & I can’t wait for the story to continue in book 2!

Today is the day. Today marks the release of a dream of mine that I have been longing for since the beginning of my book journey.

Ink of Copper by EM Meyer is finally out.

You wouldn't believe how excited I am. Some know how obsessed I am with Greek mythology. To have finally have a fantasy romance book that takes place in these fields that is this incredibly awesome is everything I've ever wanted. I've read a few books set in the same circles, but none of them have had the depth of character, story and sweep me away like Ink of Copper did.

Ellie is a very unique character that you can't help but love. With her wit and sass she draws you into her own story which is both funny, adventurous but also sad and makes you think about a few things. Her own self-doubt due to her trauma comes to the surface again and again. Nevertheless, Ellie proves that this doesn't have to hold you back and continues to move through the story with full commitment.

I don't want to say too much about the other characters because I don't want to give anything away.

The plot is so deep and well thought out down to the last detail. It's a real adventure that you can experience. There is also one or two or more spiiiicy scenes. And oh my god can EM write these.... 10/10.

The way the Greek mythological world is incorporated into this book is so skillfully crafted that even if you don't know that much about it yourself you definitely still have to give this book a chance. It's been a long time since I've read such a compelling adventure story. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy romance. This book is not only my top read this year, but also in my top 5 of all time.

Ink of Copper follows Ellie Whitmore, a newly divorced woman from Texas, whose vacation to the Greek Isles plunges her into a mythological battle between gods and monsters. After meeting the mysterious Evander, she is attacked by creatures from Tartarus and discovers she holds the key to an ancient prophecy that could either save or doom the Olympian gods. As Athena seeks to protect Olympus from a curse cast by Pandora, Ellie must unravel her true identity and decide whether she is a savior or the harbinger of the gods' destruction.

I really enjoyed the blend of Greek mythology with the modern-day adventure and I loved that this book had a protagonist in her 40s. I think this is only the second book I've read with a FMC above 40! It's definitely nice to read about a character who's already lived a life and isn't naive or bratty (my ultimate pet peeves!). Watching both Ellie's relationship with Evander and her confidence develop was lovely.

A lot of books these days seem to play trope bingo and shoehorn in as many popular tropes as they can, or even seem to start from a tropes list and build the story from there. With this book, I really felt like the author was just telling a story that was really important to them. It was all about letting that story and those characters out, and not about fitting in as many microtropes as possible. While the book does run long, the extensive worldbuilding and character development are essential to setting up this complex series.

There were some greats twists in Ink of Copper, and a really strong lead in to the next book. I'm really interested to see where the story goes next - I think the series will only go from strength to strength and it's perfect for fans of Greek mythology, readers who appreciate strong female protagonists, and anyone looking for a more mature and complex heroine.

Note: I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author, but this is my voluntary and honest review.

I am absolutely blown away by this story!

First of all, do not be scared off by the fact this book is chunky. Oh she's chunky, but she's full of everything you need for a fantastic story.

Meyers has successfully woven a fantastic story with a mixture of of modern day and mythology. Each of the characters are fully fleshed out, which caused me to really connect with the majority of them instead of just the main character as what happens with some books.

The overall storyline captivated me from page one. From start to finish it was an exciting journey, featuring many famous gods and characters from Greek mythology and history, and creating new and interesting ones based on such as well. It includes a prophecy that constantly keeps you guessing as you navigate Meyers' constant twists and turns throughout the novel. It also features some strong themes such as abuse and other stuff (see trigger warnings) but ti's done in such a way that involves our character(s) regaining their self worth, control and so on. It's extremely empowering to read.

If you like a slowburn and some spice to your reads, you will also love this book. It had me kicking my feet and giggling at some parts, like YESSS.

I felt myself connecting to Ellie in multiple ways and her journey throughout the story was so special to me. I absolutely adored the comarderie throughout the novel, the found family feels and strong themes of friendship. Meyers also managed to make me feel sympathy and stuff for certain characters, you wouldn't originally expect to feel that for as well. Morally grey has always been my favourite shade.

Honestly the twists and turns had me utterly hooked, I could not put this book down and the ending has left me speechless. I have so many questions that need to be answered, but the first one is: WHERE'S THE NEXT BOOK??

My thanks to the author for the ARC! My opinions are my own.

**I read this while recovering from a terrible case of covid, so my review is based almost purely on vibes. ** Normally for ARCs I try to do more in-depth analysis, but it just wasn't possible this time, and it was a struggle to finish.

A very long book, meant to be lived in rather than binged. The environment and feel seemed a lot more important, or at least a larger part of the book as a whole, than any plot or character developments.

Not really a book you can casually pick up and put down, as it does take some focus to sort through the arguments between and within the characters. Lots of vacillating between "should I could I" and "no I won't" for everyone.

Loved the disability rep, and I also feel like some key opportunities were missed with Evander.

Also loved the 40+ FMC, though there were moments when I wanted to smack her for being ridiculous.

Best part? Pegasus!

3.5, rounding up. This story could’ve been much shorter, as it felt like there were many moments when action would happen and then it would be a stretch of fluff in the story. I appreciated that Ellie was not an 18-24 year old FMC with 0 life experience which made her super relatable…AND she’s confident! Overall I love Greek mythology so that’s what kept me going, and I feel like the way everything ended was perfect for setting up future books in the series.

I wish I could accurately convey just how much I love this book. E. M. Meyers is an absolute genius when it comes to weaving together multiple story lines and gorgeous settings. IoC is a big girl, but take it from me, if it's in the book, there's a reason it's there!

Ink of Copper is the first book in the Legend of the Serathena series by E M Meyeres, a retelling of The Oddysey.

I don’t know much, if anything, about Greek mythology, so I cannot speak to that element of this book, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author writes a descriptive story that pulls you in with well-developed characters that you feel like you know at the end of the book. The book was long, but I was never bored, the twists had me gasping, I loved the relationship between Ellie and Evander and also that the fmc was older and still struggling with issues from her past, because if we’re honest, we all struggle with things no matter how old we are.

I read the first part of the book and then had to stop because of headaches, but once I was able to read again it was easy to pick up and carry on, I was right back in the story. I enjoyed this author’s writing style, especially how she describes the characters’ surroundings. I am really excited to continue this series and cannot wait for the next book to release.

This book was beautifully written. It had a dark story with a lighthearted twist with a ragtag group of warriors. It’s a VERY long book. I do think that it could have easily been 200-300 pages less and still been a wildly impactful story. I found myself glazing over the elaborate detail of settings and clothing. I felt more focus could have been placed at the end instead of the countless trainings and such. Ellie is not your average FMC so she was quite refreshing. All the twists at the end left me gasping but they were literally in the last 90%. Worth it though. Cover is gorgeous and a powerful debut.

4.5 rounded up. This was an amazing debut. Sometimes, I find books that mix modern with fantasy can be awkward, but i felt it very natural in this one. I already enjoy greek mythology, which is kind of what drew me to read this in the first place, and I really enjoyed all the history and reading about all the gods and goddesses and lesser known. Typically, I can struggle with super long books, but I found I was really interested in the story. Anytime I was able, I was reading it, but I did get a little antsy around the 80% mark because It is a hefty read. I think the only reason it wasn't a full 5 stars for me was because of the length (just personal preference), and Ellie did start to aggravate me just a tad with the constant back and forth with Evander. Sometimes, I was just like, "What did the man do wrong?" Although when you think about it, I understand that Ellie has gone through a lot that has crushed her confidence, so it does make sense for her to slip up from time to time. Outside of this, I thought it was fantastic, and I did not see that ending coming. Honestly, everything you could want was in here. Action, romance, history, humor, etc. Definitely would recommend it. I did receive this as an advanced reader copy. However, my thoughts are entirely my own.

Can someone point me in the direction of a greek warrior with wings? 🥵 Thanks

"Because I am tired of duty coming first. You have power over me, and I'm helpless. I don't want to fight it anymore. You will be my destruction, Ellie, but I'll gladly give you the match and watch my world burn to ash."

Overall Ink of Copper is an excellent debut by E. M. Meyers. While not perfect, I found the overall story very intriguing, and was never tempted to stop reading despite the slightly daunting page count.

What I liked:
- great use of greek mythology
- intriguing characters
- well written romance
- no horrible cliff-hanger ending (though it is set up for the next, I feel like the main plot points were wrapped up nicely)
- truly funny banter in many places, I actually laughed out loud at some of the dialogue :)

What I didn't like:
- I found some of the descriptive paragraphs a bit lengthy (think Lord of the Rings type descriptions), but this is more personal preference
- character behaviours were sometimes frustrating and motivations were not always consistent. I think this is where the debut nature of the novel shows, but overall this was fairly minor.

Overall a very strong debut. I have a feeling this will be one of those authors where the first book is good, but the next is great. Will definitely be looking forward to the sequel to see what happens next!

When you are immediately counting down the days to the release of book two, then you know book one is a must read. Ink of Copper caught my attention from page one and kept it the entire time. E.M. Meyers wrote one of the funniest, most relatable books set in a fantasy world I have read. The FMC Ellie is quirky and lovable, and every MMC has their own charm that makes you love them immediately. The relationships they all form are well written and make you want to keep reading to know what they are up to next.
If you love fantasy, romance, and Greek mythology then this is a must read.

If you love Greek mythology you’ll love this author’s reimagining of the gods and goddesses of Olympus and the Titian’s. A unique fantasy mixed with a modern FMC over 40 which was also refreshing to see. Ink of copper is about legend of the Serathena, an odyssey involving a prophecy, a curse and a mix of characters that bring you humor, forbidden love and fated mates. The book is on the longer side with a little repetition on fmc’s back story, but stay with it as the last 40% is hard to put down.

I don't often award 5 stars but this has become my new favorite book. I love it so much I was [aggressively] recommending this book in one of my romantasy book groups on FB before I was even done with it.

First of all, the writing itself is immaculate. Second of all, the world building is so beautifully done, there are several scenes I just want to paint on canvas because they just imprinted themselves so vividly in my mind.

There are so many aspects about this story that are just straight up refreshing compared to most everything that we have been used to seeing in popular romantasy. ✅ Greek mythology that's not focused on Hades and Persephone ✅ 40 yr old FMC ✅ Golden Retriever/Cinnamon roll MMC ✅ Genuine character development ✅ Plot > Spice ✅ relatable silly situations.

I love that Ellie is more adult than most FMCs we get. She is witty and sarcastic, enjoys her solitude, and is learning to love herself after divorcing her POS ex husband. I love that whenever Ellie overstepped she was able to acknowledge that she did so, she didn't just brat for no reason. Even though her insecurities sometimes showed through, so did her growth as the story progressed.

Evander is the exact opposite of what I am used to reading about. He is sweet and doting and if not for the fact that he is in one of the highest circles of Athena's warriors, you wouldn't think this man could have a mean bone in his body. The downside to this circle, is that he swore an oath of celibacy, and if he breaks it, his soul will be destroyed. It did make me giggle that he thought his tastes in bed were so depraved and the worst he did was like a little light bondage. That man is like the softest dom ever, it's adorable.... But he has been out of the scene for like 2000 years so I give him a little grace lol.

It's a slow burn between these two (which makes sense given the stakes here) but there are other smaller scenes to hold you over from the other characters in the meantime.

The action is jam packed, the emotions are raw (I still have emotional whiplash from the last 100 pages or so), and the plot twists leave you guessing. Plus the cliffhanger at the end was killer. I cannot wait for the next book.

I am struggling writing in a way that truly shows how much I loved this book. Meyer’s writing is lyrical and beautiful, and yet still so easy to read. This makes for truly captivating prose that kept me hooked the whole way.

You can tell she did her Greek mythology research because everything had such DETAIL to it.

Meyer’s characters were complicated, flawed, and oh so loveable. Even the villains had me hooked! But none were so relatable as was our FMC, Ellie…

𝒮𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝒶𝓈 𝓁𝒶𝓉𝑒. 𝒯𝓇𝓊𝓉𝒽 𝒷𝑒 𝓉𝑜𝓁𝒹, 𝓈𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝒶𝓈 𝒶𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 𝓁𝒶𝓉𝑒. 𝒮𝒽𝑒 𝒽𝒶𝒹 𝓌𝒶𝓃𝓉𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝑜 𝑔𝑒𝓉 𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒 𝒽𝒶𝓁𝒻 𝒶𝓃 𝒽𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝒶𝑔𝑜, 𝒷𝓊𝓉 𝒶𝓃 𝓊𝓃𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒𝓈𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓅𝓁𝑜𝓉 𝓉𝓌𝒾𝓈𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓃𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁 𝓈𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝒶𝓈 𝓇𝑒𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒽𝒶𝒹 𝓀𝑒𝓅𝓉 𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝓇𝒾𝓋𝑒𝓉𝑒𝒹.

Ellie was an incredibly relatable character, with her love of books and crocheting. I just adored her sassy-ness and bravery (but even that bravery was flawed, which I adored reading.)

“𝐼’𝓋𝑒 𝒶𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 𝒷𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝑜𝓁𝒹 𝒶 𝓂𝒶𝓃 𝓃𝑒𝑒𝒹𝓈 𝓉𝑜 𝒷𝑒 𝑔𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓁𝑒. 𝒯𝑒𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓇. 𝒜𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝒹𝓈 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒹𝑒𝓈𝑒𝓇𝓋𝑒 𝑔𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝒶𝒻𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒶𝓃𝒾𝓂𝒶𝓁 . . . 𝒶𝒻𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝒽𝑒 . . . 𝒷𝓊𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊’𝓇𝑒 𝓈𝒾𝓉𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒. 𝒴𝑜𝓊 𝓁𝑜𝑜𝓀 𝓈𝑜 𝒻**𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝒹. 𝒟𝒶𝓂𝓃 𝒾𝓉, 𝐸𝓁𝓁𝒾𝑒, 𝐼 𝒹𝑜𝓃’𝓉 𝓌𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝒷𝑒 𝑔𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓁𝑒.”

As for the relationships? ADORE. There are so many kinds of relationship that develops in this novel and I am really excited to see where things go as it continues.

A truly incredible debut, and I can’t wait to read more.

3.5 rounded up.
I enjoyed this debut from Meyers. I am not terribly knowledgeable in regard to Greek mythology, so I do wish there was a bit more background on some of the Olympians/god-like characters and who/why they are. You could remove some repetition of Ellie's backstory and insert that. I really enjoyed having a 40+ FMC who had already experienced some life; however, *slight spoiler* she was a bit frustrating with her distrust of her man. I get that she's been through a shit relationship, but she's head-over-heels and trusting this new man (as she should), but the bad guy comes into the pic, says a few negative things about her new man, and she's all "I can't trust him. Oh my gosh I believe the bad guy instantly!" - insert major eyeroll here. That was unlike her and a part I found entirely too frustrating *spoiler over*.
The characters and world were pretty cool. Some characters' motivations were hard to keep up with, but it wasn't a major concern. My biggest complaint is that sometimes events happened and it seemed out of nowhere. *Spoilers ahead* Like, why on Earth was there a random room with a bow and ACTUAL arrows that could be shot as decoration on a cruise ship? How did he carry a wounded woman across a ship without running into anyone? If people can feel magic, how can't the guys feel what's up? Why do they keep calling Ellie human when she obvs has great power and ichor in her blood? These are a few of the questions that I have *spoilers over*.
Overall, it was a good debut and an interesting read with a few twists that you wouldn't see coming. I do look forward to seeing what Meyers decides to do with the sequel.

Lovely debut book!

I first found out about the plot of this book through Threads and I was sold just from a fantasy/mythology themed story with a FMC being over 40. I believe I'm at the age where YA stories are not fulfilling for me unless I reread old favorites. I fell in love with author through her social media posts, but I promise not to be biased in my review.

This book put me through a lot of emotions. Most of those emotions were joy, laughter, and wonder. In the beginning, I really resonated with Ellies character. I even cried a few times in the first quarter of the book. Sometimes her character frustrated me with her decisions, but I think she was meant to grow by the end of it all. I love the disability representation and abuse awareness. The author even warns readers of all of the things the book will entail in the very beginning. I hope y'all have water on standby to prepare yourselves for all the spice.

I'm a southern girl as well and some of Ellie's phrases had me cackling while others made me wonder if things are different in my south. I ended up liking Valarius and Hades a lot. Evander was a great MMC. The burning denial between the main couple made me start to resent them. It felt like I was being tortured with the impatience of them deciding if breaking the vow would be worth it. Of course, that might be the point of those intense spicy build up moments. I was starting to root for Syren/Callassa in her mission so I could see how things unfold after the deed.

Overall, I enjoyed this book! The plot twist at the end was interesting and a bit saddening. But I definitely look forward to seeing how this series continues.

Holy Epic Story Batman! Like this gives me the feels of the ancient epic Greek Stories, but make it modern, add some deliciously wonderful spice and BOOM, you get Ink of Copper. I love the retake on the Odyssey and the change to all the classic characters and how the story wove together. There was so much going on that pretty much each person had their own agenda throughout the story but many of their ideas aligned with one another. It was very Game of Thrones for me (but so much better cause it was Greek Mythology 😉)

The FMC, Ellie, is awesome and real and relatable. I love an older FMC, she’s lived a lot of her life already and I love the sass she throws around. I love, love, love Evander. OMG he is definitely something! The mouth on that man makes me melt, e-v-e-r-y time! And I can forget to talk about my boy Liam. I love him just as much! The swagger that man has is off the charts, and I love the relationship he eventually build with Callassa. Beautiful!

OH, don’t let me forget about the banter and the innuendos throughout this book. I could not stop cackling like an old witch who found her spell book to suck the lives out of children (😉). Seriously, best banter I have read in a long time.

If you like Greek Mythology, banter, found family, wonderfully crafted storytelling, with a few whoppers of revelations revealed throughout, this is the book for you. Seriously, read it! She thiccck, but she good! 😏

Thank you E. M. Meyers for giving me the opportunity to read this book early.

OMG okay This is definitely the longest book I've ever read and it was so so worth it. Usually with books like these I worry that there's not going to be enough content for almost a thousand pages but everything was paced extremely well and the book thoroughly developed every single plot point and set up really well for the next one!

Every character's dynamic is eventually explained. I will say I was thrown off in the beginning by how quickly everybody was falling for each other but once you actually realize why later in the book it all gets explained really well.

The scenery and world building are absolutely beautiful and I love all the implements of Greek Mythology. Meyers did an amazing job and while I can't speak to how accurate everything is I can say that nothing was confusing. The gods act like you think they would given how they've been developed in this book and as far as prophecies and curses it was amazingly and thoroughly developed.

I will say some stuff towards the end is left unanswered but purposely so. Setting up for the next book and all. So just be prepared not so much for a cliffhanger but for some of your questions to be a bit left in the air.

I highly recommend this book especially if you like different takes on Greek mythology. It certainly is long but it flies by and I've never been more impressed with someone's world building and writing!

I loved that the heroine was not 17, and the Greek mythology setting was a refreshing scene change for me from what I've been reading. The sex scenes got in the way of the plot. Three (I didn't keep a close count) for an only semi-main character is yuck. I wish there was more emotional connection and innocent dialogue in the romance, rather than relying on sexual tension and shared current experiences. The most clever dialogue comes through during innuendos, which makes me feel like the characters were robbed in a way; the author has the talent for dialogue, but it's not generalized enough. It is addressed as a regret, having not asked more questions about their past, but it's a tough buy in for me.

I have so many questions unanswered, like what happened to her best friend? The museum curator friend? Any aspect of her mortal life? What happened to Pandora's book? Why are they so unconcerned about the Titans, like any mention of what they're doing in the periphery? At what point does Zeus step in? Where is Max in the end? I have conflicting feelings about the choice of ending. I expected something with any existing main character to continue the plot line, not a spin off. Undecided if I care about the upcoming books in the series.
I will still recommend this book to friends but with big disclaimers about the repetitive sex.

I confess, I had no idea how big this book was when I began reading it - I was too intrigued by a FMC character who’s 40 - but boy, is it ever THICC. Albeit long, nothing in this story felt like filler! Everything felt important to the plot, to the characters and didn’t drag out unnecessarily.

I don’t normally enjoy modern day based novels, but I found the blending of Greek mythology and modern day in Ink of Copper seamless and well done; creating a lot of charming moments, especially between our FMC, Ellie, and cinnamon-roll MMC, Evander.

Which leads me to my next point… There was a fair bit of will-they-won’t-they between Ellie and Evander which I gobbled eagerly. Their love story felt natural and honest - given the two’s previous histories - making their romance interesting to read.

Overall, I really enjoyed it! It’s interesting, spicy, full of lore and world building, and all the characters have complex/diverse backgrounds you explore throughout the novel. And I can’t get over how refreshing and original it was to have a fun, badass, age appropriate lead in a fantasy novel.

This book, oh my god this book !

First of all, it has been a while since finishing a book left me mentaly and physicaly exhausted and it has been years since a book left me staring blankly at my wall for a few minutes, mentaly asking myself "So, what now ?"

Yes, it was this good.

The plot is not a big chunky plot, no no no. It's tiny plots, intricatly weaven with each other. It is beautifully done. Honestly, I was *this* close to pull out my white board, and start connecting things with strings aha.

And don't get me started on the characters, good or bad, each and every one was perfectly written. I can't pick a true favorite, which once again is rare.

All in all, this book got me feeling a rollercoaster of emotions : Joy, sadness, disgust, anger and so much more.

I can't wait for the next book, I have many, MANY questions. And that cliffhanger left me floored and quite honestly screeching xDD

And last thing, the fact that I wanted to bash Athena's head on the nearest hard surface each time she opened her mouth was WILD !

🪽 Ink of Copper by EM Meyers 🏺
ARC Review 🫶

Where do I even begin...

When i tell you I flew through the last quarter without allowing myself to even blink - this book CONSUMED me. Ink Of Copper had such a hold on me and I can't wait to reread this and find all the Easter eggs Meyers hid throughout her DEBUT NOVEL!

Yes this is a debut! I couldn't believe it. From the fantastic writing to the complex characters, the backstory, the love interests, the adorable (yet pesky) creatures - everything has depth, everything was for a reason and it all was soooooo worth the read.

Meyers also brings a type of representation for DV survivors that I had not seen in books until now! Ink Of Copper SHINES when it comes to healing from your past, growing into what you are meant to be and finding the people you should be surrounded by!

Meyers did a phenomenal job with this book and I cannot wait to see what is in store for her future works. I truly can't stop talking about how phenomenal this book is!

Now if anyone needs me I'll be sitting by the window waiting for book two!

I saw a post for this book that asked if I liked Greek mythology. Yep. That was pretty much enough to sell me on the book and make me want to read it. Then the post mentioned that the FMC was NOT the typical 20 year old we often see in romantasy series, but 40. The speed at which I, a 36 year old millennial, hit FOLLOW was too fast to even calculate going to hundredths of a second. I think it was seriously the fastest I have filled out an ARC request form.

I am sooo glad that I did. The world in which Ellie, our 40 year old FMC, finds herself after going on a cruise to Greece, is so detailed and well thought out. Meyers manages to take a world that many readers are already familiar with, and make it entirely her own. References to already established Greek mythology and epics, but set within a modern world.

There’s multiple storylines going on, in true epic fantasy fashion. Two amazing love stories. And some amazing twists and turns. I cannot recommend this book enough.

I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC of Ink of Copper!
If you like -
* Greek Mythology
* Forbidden Love
* Multiple Story Lines with an epic tie together
* Disability Rep
* Who Hurt you?
This read is for you! It is a chunky hunk of love (almost 1000 pages) but it takes the time to set up all the side parts to converge into the main story beautifully! This is the first in a series, with the next book releasing next year.

((The ending really deflated me. I didn't know it was the first of a series. It was all tied up (mostly) and then the last little part unraveled everything I had mentally invested. This was not the kind of cliffhanger I wanted. It felt like all the work with the FMC was for nothing. This could be a personal preference and I didn't want to take away from the rest of the book which was overall a good read))

The MMC is blond, but don't let that deter you.

The FMC is 40 and isn't a waif. For that alone, I enjoyed this. There was some good spice, and I'm a sucker for fated mates/soulmates.

There were twists in this that I thought were quite clever, and then others that were pretty obvious. I also was really disappointed when halfway through the story, Ellie just blindly believed the lies that a bad guy told her , making Evander have to almost start from scratch to earn her trust.

I could also do with a lot less Texas-is-the-best.

All of that aside, Ellie is very independent and feisty, but vulnerable ,too. Evander is quiet, brave and dedicated, and blond, but we won't hold that against him. I want to know what happens next!

I’d never heard of this book or author before getting it off a stuff your kindle day, and I’m here to say: MORE PEOPLE NEED TO READ THIS BOOK

this was a solid 5-star for me. amazing characters and character development (not just for the main character, although of that there was plenty), a really engaging plot, and a fun take on Greek mythology. the ending left me wanting more, even after 900 kindle pages, and I’m hoping that a sequel is in the works SOON. I will definitely be recommending this book to my friends, especially those who like romance, fantasy, and Greek mythology. SO good.

I really enjoyed this story! The writing was beautifully done and captivating. I was immersed into this world while reading. There are many characters intertwined which was great and kept the plot in-depth and twisty. The adventure, romance, suspense and mystery was well balanced and just felt right. The flow of this story was spot on. This is a very big read 900+ pages but don’t be intimidated by that because the story is worth it. You’ll be wanting more afterwards.
