CRIMELLA cozy rom mystery

The prettiest villages make the best hiding places, and Nettleacre is hiding more than most.

Anna Wilde has created an unusual refuge for frightened locals: leave a note in the letterbox of her grand Sussex home, and she and her two closest friends investigate the crimes Nettleacre prefers to ignore. It's an unlikely partnership — glamour, magic, and old-fashioned police work — but it works.

Until the notes begin pointing to women who have vanished.

Women who are lonely, vulnerable, and far too easy for the village to overlook. Soon, the trail leads Anna, Lily, and Sadie to a respected local with something to hide, and to two new arrivals with dangerous pasts: one a charming stranger with a killer’s past, the other a crime boss in witness protection looking for redemption.

This is bigger than three women and a letterbox. As the case draws in a secret Mayfair crime unit and entities from the skies above, the three women must learn who to trust among the living, the dead, and everything in between.

Because if they fail, Nettleacre will add another missing woman to its list of secrets.

This book is a bold and exciting mix of crime, fantasy, and romance that immediately pulled me into its dark and edgy world. The story follows a rogue London based MI6 unit made up of ex-cons, hackers, SAS, and police officers who are unknowingly working alongside mysterious entities called the Fallen. These Fallen are not the typical angels you might imagine. They are rebellious, sarcastic, and completely uninterested in playing by the rules, which makes the whole concept feel fresh and very entertaining.

What I enjoyed most was how cinematic the story felt while reading. The action moves quickly, the dialogue feels sharp, and many scenes were easy to picture in my mind like moments from a film or a gripping TV series. The Fallen themselves are fascinating characters because they are flawed, wild, and morally grey. Instead of perfect heroes, they feel unpredictable and real, which makes the story even more interesting.

The romance also adds an intense layer to the book. There is strong chemistry between the characters and the emotional moments feel natural without taking over the main plot. Instead, it makes the story more engaging and human. Overall, this book felt like a thrilling escape into a creative world where justice is not always clean and angels are anything but innocent. It left me thinking about the characters long after I finished reading.

Book 6 of THE FALLEN ANGEL SERIES. Can be read as a standalone.

'The Fallen are ex-humans who agreed a deathbed deal to dish karma on those who evade justice. Admittedly, they're not your normal angels; they don't take life too seriously, dislike rules, have sex in the skies, kill more than they save, and upset their bosses, but you'll want one in your corner.'

The characters were very complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

The Fallen. Angels that work with the law to intact Justice. I loved the originality of this. These angels are perfect. They aren’t the happy beautifully white winged perfection that everyone thinks of when you think of an Angel. The Fallen are real, raw, play by their own rules. The spice is real with these guys. They are as real as it gets. It made this story so fascinating. Immersive abs not something you can put down once you start. The with building was fantastic. The description so vivid, it played out beautifully in my mind while I read. I loved the depth and how easily I was pulled into this story. Just such a fascinating read. I’ve enjoyed all of them so far. Very well written.
