Frozen Hearts #3.5

One Little Favor

Rate this book
This is teeing up to be the worst Christmas ever.

First, my parents win a last-minute cruise and ditch me for the white sand beaches of the Caribbean.

Then, my annoyingly sexy boss, Tom, needs one *little* favor—in the form of sacrificing my entire weekend to help him revamp his office space. Now I’m forced to spend the last days before Christmas with the very person I’m trying to avoid.

Some sort of holiday spirit must be in the air, though, because the more time we spend holed up in his corner office together, the harder it becomes to keep our emotions off and our clothes on.

I may have also agreed to be his fake girlfriend, but that part’s unclear. Mostly because nothing that’s developing between us in that office feels fake.

Then he springs a surprise getaway on me—effectively making all my Christmas dreams come true—and suddenly it’s impossible to remember all the reasons getting involved with my boss is a terrible idea.

But no matter how hard he tries to convince me this can work between us, when reality hits, only one of us stands to lose everything. And it isn’t him.

Julia grew up on the warm and sunny West Coast, but her first decision as an adult was to trade her flip-flops for snow boots and move to Boston.

She’s been enjoying everything that New England has to offer for over two decades, and now that she’s acclimated to the snowy winters and finally found all the places to get good sushi and tacos, she has zero regrets.

You can usually find her in front of her computer, but when she stops writing she’s most likely to be found outdoors, preferably with a pair of skis or snowshoes strapped to her feet in winter, or on a paddleboard in the summer.

-Christmas novella
-Office Romance
-Grumpy/Sunshine (but he’s a secret golden retriever)

Tom, the golden retriever in a grumpy coating. So, If you want alittle of both, it’s definitely Tom! I loved Tom so much. He knew what he wanted and he went👏🏼for👏🏼it👏🏼. He wasn’t going to lose Avery even when she was being dumb. He gave her everything she wanted without her asking. But Speaking of Avery being dumb, for 2 chapters I hated her! 😂 I wanted Tom to just give up and let her go. She was just being so ridiculous. She eventually redeemed herself but let me be clear, she isn’t what made this book. Tom is. Did I say I like Tom? 😂 their love progressed QUICK (probably bc they were pinning for each other for a year) and usually I hate insta-love (or super quick from start to "you’re the one") but this one was done VERY well. Maybe it’s bc I liked Tom😉🤣

Her dedication says it all. This is a hallmark movie with spice. The spice is done so well for a novella. It doesn’t overpower the story, instead it adds to the connection of the characters.

Go read this Christmas novella ASAP! It’s out Dec 2nd on KU.

• Office Romance • Grumpy Boss • Fake Dating • Surprise Getaway • Steamy Christmas Novella •

I love that we got a little novella for Tom & Avery! It’s a cute, feel good holiday romance that does have some drama but it’s rectified quickly and with good reason. Even though the timeline in the story is super short, it works because Tom & Avery have known each other for a year. They’ve both just been unaware of the other’s feelings thanks to Tom’s grumpy front and the fact that he’s Avery’s boss.

It’s short but jumps straight into the action and we still get smut! I loved it! It was beautifully written and the way the two characters improve each other’s lives is the stuff all relationships should be made of. And the “sleeper” plot that totally was not expecting in a novella really worked!

If you know me, you know that I'm a huge Julia Connors fan. So when I found out there was a Christmas Novella that was part of the Frozen Hearts series that I hadn't read, you better believe I dropped my current read to devour it.

I knew Tom and Avery ended up together from One Last Shot, but I didn't realize they had their own story, and what a whole freaking delight it was. Tom is absolutely perfect as a grumpy guy hiding a complete golden retreiver interior, and Avery is excellent as the PhD student turned administrative assistant who sees straight through that grumpy exterior. They have both pined for each other for awhile, and I loved them both so much. The forced proximity office romance was amazing, and their tropical Christmas getaway when they both end up alone for the holiday was perfection. Tom was an "I will do literally anything in my power for this woman" kind of guy, and Avery was the perfect "I didn't expect any of this but I love it just the same."

If you're looking for a Christmas novella full of swoon and spice, this is exactly the one for you. And while you're at it, check out the rest of the Frozen Hearts series, because every single book is perfect.

One of my favorite series. This installment may have been sort, but it was also steamy, heartwarming and frustrating (Mitzi did not pass the vibe check). Anyways, I love how well Tom & Avery got along and how he didn’t even hesitate to surprise her on Christmas Eve because he knew how bummed she was. Also loved how kind Tom was to Avery’s parents. 10/10 would recommend reading if you’ve read any other books in this series so far.

If you’ve read book 3 in this series, you’ve met Tom and Avery and were probably dying for their story. If you haven’t, no worries—this can be read as a complete standalone. Tom is a hot shot lawyer, and Avery is his assistant. They each have been secretly pining for one another, but it’s not until Avery volunteers to fake date Tom to help get his family off his back that their true feelings are put out in the open… and I mean that literally 😏

I just love everything I’ve read by Julia. We’ve got Christmas in the Caribbean, good spice, an MMC who won’t let the FMC self sabotage (always love that), mutual pining, and a grumpy/sunshine novella that is a perfect addition to your holiday reading lineup.

Talk about your whirlwind romance! I get it. It's a novella. The whole point of these books is to be short, sweet, and to the point, so I really have no complaints about the book.

I will admit that I thought the story would be a bit different after having gotten a glimpse into Tom and Avery's relationship in One Last Shot. I thought Alex played more of a role in convincing Tom to finally take the step and make a move on Avery. However, their relationship actually took off because Tom found himself in a situation that he needed help resolving quickly and Avery agreed to help him with this One Little Favor (good title *wink, wink*).

The whole story took place over 10 days maybe. Well, really, it was 3ish days of action, then a quick summary of a week, and then another 3ish days of action. As Tom says in the book,
When you know, you know
.

The mental image I had of Tom in One Last Shot was of an uptight, prude jackass that is super stuck-up. I didn't think he was going to be unattractive but I didn't picture him as my type when I conjured up an image of him. However, after reading this book, I see him as some talk, dark, handsome drink of water, and I am slightly envious of fictitious Avery being with fictitious Tom for the rest of her life.

What will you get from this book?
* A daughter who loves her parents and considers them essential to her life.
* A son who comes from a highly mediatic family who only knows how to put on false appearances for the public but loath each other behind closed doors.
* An almost fake relationship
* Some interior design work for an office space.
* A Caribbean cruise paired with a Caribbean vacation
* A super-fast relationship. As in, Day 1 flirt, Day 2 kiss, Day 3 vacation together, Day 4 I'm going to marry you after making all of your dreams come true.
* A bitchy and jealous co-worker (manager) that manipulates the situation to come out on top, and almost succeeds. Remember kids, karma is a bitch.

Tom is a lawyer and is best friends with one of the best hockey players, Alex Ivanov, and his wife, Petra. Tom can cut loose; however, Avery, Tom’s PA, has never seen it. She’s even dubbed him the Grump. Now, the book takes place mere days before Christmas, and Avery is due to go home for Christmas. But she gets a call from her parents saying they won an all-expense-paid cruise, a giveaway for disabled law enforcement veterans, and her father won. A whole week during Christmas. They tried to change the dates so she wouldn’t be alone. Avery told her mom not to be silly; she would be fine, and her dad needed this cruise, and so did she (her mom).

Tom overheard the conversation and couldn’t help but be excited for himself. You see, Tom had his own drama unfolding in his office that he wanted to make vanish and truly wished he was an only child. Because his brother, the condescending a-hole, announced he and his wife would be in town overnight. They booked dinner and demanded he and this supposed girlfriend show up; he had accidentally told his mother he had a girlfriend to get her off his back. Because they want him to work for the family business. Which will never happen. All of his family members are beyond dysfunctional, then add rich and pompous on top of that, and it is not a pretty picture. They need to make sure she is acceptable enough for his posh family.? Are they kidding themselves? The girl he wants is too good for them.

Then, the next morning the two will arrive at the office to meet him, to see if he is for sure a partner and not just being told that. At first, Tom tells him no because his girlfriend is going out of town to see her family. The brother just replies that he doesn't care and pilots a plane for her to take her at a later time so we can meet her and make it happen. This is where Avery comes in. His idea is to pay Avery out of pocket during her vacation to paint and decorate his office to make it more inviting, like her office, in a day and a half.

At first, she tells him he’s crazy because she couldn't paint it by herself in enough time. He said no, but they could. All she could do was stare and blink at him. He tells her he worked summers at his uncle's construction sites, and painting was one of his many jobs. She said okay because she knew the money she made in two days she could send her dad to PT for the whole month. He was shot in the leg in the line of duty. So, she picked the colors and bought supplies, furniture, artwork, knickknacks, etc.

That extra time together made the right environment to be able to speak their truths to one another. Telling each other how much they have wanted each other since day one. Then Tom receives a call from his brother saying they won’t be coming after all. Their plane had been grounded due to mechanical issues, and once they reboarded, they decided not to take any chances. They can’t miss Mother’s New Year’s Eve Party.

Tom and Avery still go to what turns into a romantic dinner for two and into the start of a beautifully bumpy start of a relationship. They do get their HEA. No thanks to an evil madwoman.

Get you wintery holiday Hallmark on, but make it spicy 😉🔥

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One Little Favor, by Julia Connors @juliaconnorsauthor , is the perfect novella to read by twinkle light.

Avery's Christmas is not looking promising, which is only made worst when her grumpy boss, Tom, ask her to him revamp his office over the weekend. During which time Avery apparently agreed to fake date him and go on a Holiday getaway. The problem is things don't seem so fake, but Avery has a tendency to get in her own way.

Have your milk and cookies ready, because you'll be putting your spatula down to unwrap this!

•I love Connor's writing. It is real with no nonsense sugar coating.

•Tom's family is somewhat toxic, especially during the holidays and I felt seen!

•Hockey is part of the story and Alex, Petra, and Stella, from One Last Shot, make a full appearance and play a role in Tom and Avery's lives. - If you know me you know I LOVE hockey and I could reread One Last Shot 3X + OT + a shoot out!

Even the things that have a way of irkng me didn't because they were executed so well.

•Tom saying "Good Girl" to Avery, but having it make her feel validated, powerful, and in control instead of the opposite vibe it usually portrays was everything!

•The conflict was solved quickly, but that also meant I did not get annoyed by over miscommunictation or the desire to shake the characters.

•Novellas tend to leave me wanting more, but this didn't feel rushed or clipped. Avery and Tom both had depth and growth even without digging into why Avery has a need to care more for others than herself or Tom's family and work dynamics. I could feel it without it being there because Connor's writing is strong, real, and personal.

The bonus epilogue is a must! It helps round out the story and leaves you with cozy comfort feels.

Thank you so much for this ARC and for the personal "thank you" in your Acknowledgements.

Read this book! Available December 2nd.

Releasing December 2nd

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Julia Connors is quickly becoming one of my favorite romance authors! I love her Frozen Hearts series and this novella that’s part of the series was such a cozy Christmas read. It really got me in the holiday spirit as it was the first holiday book I’ve read this year.

Julia is such a descriptive writer. She truly makes the words on the page come to life. And, even though this was a novella, I felt the characters were so well developed!

This novella follows Tom and Avery. We saw glimpses of them in her last book One Last Shot since Tom is Alex’s lawyer. This is a perfect workplace, grumpy/sunshine romance. Tom is needing help redoing his office to impress his brother when he comes to town. He enlists his administrative assistant, Avery to help redecorate. While they are redecorating, sparks fly! Soon, a Christmas romance ensues as they split the holiday between New York and tropical St. Thomas.

Here’s what I loved:
🎄 I loved that this explained how Tom and Avery got together. We got to see them as a couple in One Last Shot, and I loved their characters. So I’m glad we got to see how they began!
🎄 The Christmas setting
🎄 Avery’s relationship with her parents
🎄 The St. Thomas location - I loved the aspect of adding a tropical setting in to the Christmas storyline. It didn’t take away any of the cozy Christmas aspect of a holiday romance.
🎄 Tom fighting for Avery with his partners.
🎄 Avery’s dad working to overcome his obstacles
🎄 The epilogue where we get to see Alex and Petra and Stella again!

Here’s what I wanted more of:
🎄 I wanted to know more about Tom’s family, specifically his sister and her health.

This book releases on December 2nd and you can read it for free on KU!

Thank you to Julia Connors for this advanced copy!

Avery secretly has dreams about her grumpy boss, Tom, but knows she'd never cross that professional line. Until he asks her one favor, to spend the weekend helping him redecorate his office in preparation for his awful brother's visit. What will all those close confines do to the obvious attraction between them? What will she do when she discovers he's "gruff on the outside, but a total cinnamon roll on the inside."?

Tom's never opened up to anyone the way he's suddenly doing with his assistant this weekend. Suddenly he's doing things he never saw himself doing - envisioning a future, a relationship. Can he protect her job in the office, and have it all?

This is truly a sweet and heartfelt holiday romance. Though short in length, it's a complete story with two likable characters, some great side characters (Alex, Petra & Stella from One Last Shot make cameos), and enough chemistry to make this a Christmas to look forward to.

Title: One Little Favor
Author: Julia Connors
Hero/Heroine: Tom & Avery
Tropes: Boss/Employee, Grumpy/Sunshine, Workplace Romance,

TW/CW: Dysfuntional familial relationship, parent injured in the line of duty (off page),

THE GOOD 😀

After meeting Tom & Avery in One Last Shot, I knew that they had a story to tell, and it was such a sweet story at that. Also, who doesn’t love a workplace romance? I’m a sucker for them I must admit.
When a little white lie to his family ends up coming back to bite him on the behind, Tom enlists the help of his hardworking assistant Avery. When decorating his office escalates into them finally giving into their feelings, that’s when the story really picked up and I loved every bit of it.
Right from the off, Tom and Avery had some seriously intense chemistry and you could tell that they were hiding some pretty deep feelings for each other. I loved how Tom was a completely different person around Avery, he let his grumpy demeanour slip because he felt so comfortable around her. Avery, not wanting to risk her job for a fling with her boss, was initially hesitant, however I loved how she never let Tom take himself too seriously. Smart, sassy and quick witted, she definitely kept him on his toes and I was like ‘Yas kween!’
This spicy Christmas novella was an absolute joy from start to finish and I could have happily read more about this couple. This author has definitely cemented herself on my favourite author list.

THE BAD ☹️

Mitzi. I hate trash talking other women but she definitely earned herself a place in the bin. Vile person.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

After reading @juliaconnorsauthor hockey romance novel, One Last Shot from her Frozen Hearts series and meeting characters Tom and Avery, I was super excited to hear that they were getting their own little story called 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫 and even better, in a Christmas Novella! 👏🏻👏🏻

🎄

Avery’s Christmas plans go out the window when her parents win a competition and she’s left alone. Her grumpy AF lawyer boss, Tom overhears the conversation and asks her to use that time to do small updates to his office as he has some toxic family members coming to see him in the first time in a while. He wants them to see that he has some type of life and that his office resembles this somewhat.
He may or may not have also announced that he has a gf…. But he doesn’t actually have one. 🥴

In steps Avery to help him out. I mean what could happen? It doesn’t matter if she has always had the hots for him right? 🫣

🎄

I really enjoyed this one! It explained the hidden plot of Tom and Avery that we got a brief look at in One Last Shot and it was super enjoyable. Avery was a kind hearted and lovely heroine who has such a great relationship with her parents.
Tom was gruff and headstrong who hardly speaks to his family. But the surprise get away and gifts and adorable golden retriever vibes he gives out is SO cute.
The sexual tension and spice between them was *chefs kiss!

This would be a PERFECT Hallmark movie! 😍😍😍😍

****************ENGLISH****************

Oh how I loved it!!

For a book of this size, I was pleasantly surprised!

Positive points: I enjoyed following this story over a few days. There were no big ellipses in the book and I loved being able to follow the heroes in real time. Despite the small number of pages, the author was able to give us good adventures, good romantic scenes and an incredible desire to read more.

Negative points: Too short, we want more from these two endearing characters!! It is certain that these two characters would also have deserved a novel as big as the others. I might have liked the situation with Tom's brother to be a little more developed.

Avery's Christmas plans just got cancelled. While she loves that her parents are going on a cruise just the two of them, it still stings that she'll have to spend Christmas alone. Well, until her boss asks for her help redecorating his office in preparation for a visit from his brother. Something must be in the air, because suddenly there are feelings they've both ignored coming to the surface and she's agreeing to be his fake girlfriend for dinner with his brother. And now his whisking me away for a holiday getaway that is making all her Christmas dreams come true. They may want this to work but in the end, she's the only one with everything on the line.

This was an enjoyable holiday novella, perfect for those that like a workplace/boss and employee romance. The pacing of this was perfect for the length of the story and the relationship development worked so well. I loved the secret mutual interest they both had in each other and I loved the way their interactions in the story progressed. The only complaint I really have is in regards to the third act conflict. I have no issues with the plotline itself, just more of the actions of the characters. Still an enjoyable story and did make me interested in the other books in the series.

I would recommend this one to anyone who enjoys the following.

✔️ Workplace Romance
✔️ Boss/Employee
✔️ Fake Date
✔️ Christmas
✔️ Grumpy/Sunshine Vibes
✔️ First Person Dual POV

4.25 Stars! 💚🎄

Having read the other books in this series I couldn't wait for more from this author! As soon as I found out that she'd be releasing a Christmas story I was so happy! I got right back into the Frozen Hearts world! I really enjoyed this story so much!

Avery and Tom's journey pulled me in right from the get go! When Avery's Christmas plans change and her Boss Tom asks for one little favor, will they cross the line and give into what's between them? Who knows what can happen during Christmas time. 😉

I was so glad that i got to dive into both Avery and Tom's minds. I really liked the different way these two were brought closer together and seeing how they'd tackle their feelings. The chemistry between Avery and Tom was undeniable and heat filled! I adored the way these two had me falling for them and feeling so much with them in the process.

With One Little Favor, Ms.Connors has created such a great Christmas read that was such a page turner for me! She brought the feels and steam for sure! If you haven't read this author's work yet, you so need to! Grab your hot cocoa, sweet treats, and curl up with One Little Favor this December! 💚🎄

One Little Favor made my heart flutter 🥰

Connors is a great character writer and she shines in this short story with Avery and Tom. Avery and Tom felt like real people and they complemented each other really well. I loved how they noticed little nuances about each other in their separate POV chapters. Like Tom knowing Avery saying Fine meant she wasn’t and that he could tell her mood by which mug she’s drinking out of. So cute ! I also found it adorable that Avery was so into Tom’s smile. These two were just adorable ok? Also, the mutual pining was so good too! They just wanted to be together so badly, how sweet.

The writing really drew me in. Both POV’s were great but I especially liked Tom’s POV chapters.

The story was a great holiday escape and I was so happy with how it all ended. One Little Favor is wonderful holiday read that left me feeling warm and bright.

Would recommend for those who like: office romances, employer/employee romance, forbidden romance, close proximity, mutual pining, Christmas in the tropics and steamy times.

I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC version of this book and I am so glad that I was. This book was so cute and a quick read. It is a novella so it's short, sweet, and to the point but Julia hit all the points to make this book as good as it was! It truly is a Hallmark movie with a sprinkle of spice. If you enjoy watching the Hallmark Channel during Christmas time for that feel-good easygoing love story One Little Favor is that in book form.

Tom and Avery were so cute! I like how in the book there's no miscommunication. They both realize that they have been pinning after one another for so long and don't want to miss out on another second. They are single, so why not go for it?!

The spice is there. The forbidden aspect is there (workplace romance), & the cute gifts/spontaneous acts? Check.

If you're looking for a quick read with these tropes I couldn't recommend this book enough.

4.5 Star Review One Little Favor by Julia Connors

Julia Connors is a relatively new author to me but what I have read I have enjoyed. One Little Favor is a work place romance between Avery and Tom and one that ticked the boxes for me and certainly got me in the mood for the holidays.

Although not a long book Ms.Connors packed a lot into it. The characters were well developed and I didn’t feel that the story was rushed. Avery is looking at a bleak Christmas after hearing that her parent have won a cruise to the Caribbean and wont be around.

When Tom asks for her assistance she reluctantly agrees but lines quickly become blurred as attraction build between them. When Tom asks Avery to be his fake girlfriend, she finds herself agreeing.

The chemistry between them sizzles and Tom is convinced that they have a future but as he is the boss Avery is concerned. Avery brings light into Tom’s grumpy life and that was entertaining to watch as their relationship developed.

One Little Favor was a sweet, romantic story that left me with a smile on my face.

One Little Favor is a Christmas novella where Avery and Tom spend a weekend together and realize there’s more than assistant and attorney going on between them.

Avery and Tom have both been crushing on each other, but between some miscommunication and Avery’s employment contract, a relationship is not for them. Until one weekend when Tom needs Avery’s help and Avery’s family Christmas plans are cancelled and she doesn’t need the time off after all.

Once their weekend office banter begins over the weekend, the two realize they've both had crushes. They open up to each other with Tom not being close to his family and actively avoiding them, to how close Avery is to hers and the sacrifices she's made to take care of her dad.

I loved how Tom was a caretaker of Avery after they get together. A little role reversal from the office. I swooned at the surprise Tom planned for Avery for Christmas. (Yes, swooned in a book, lol).

Good characters, fun story, happy ending. Grab this one from KU!

One Little Favor is a spine-tingling mesmerising must-read - this workplace novella delivered on everything I love in a romance story, not only is Tom and Avery’s chemistry sizzlingly hot, and you instantly connect with them, the underlining storyline is marvellous, how Julia Connors manages to pack so much in this short story is a credit to her writing skills, I fell in love with this author when I read One Last Shot and, now Ms Connors is fast becoming one of my fav authors of 2022.

Snuggle up and watch grumpy yet hot Tom and his assistant Avery finally get the chance to explore the feelings they both have been hiding from each other for over a year, it wouldn't be a great story without a little hitch in the road, but it is nothing that Tom can't sort out!

I loved these two in One Last Shot, and I was hoping that we'd get to hear their story. Here we are in One Little Favor, and it's their story!

I really enjoyed this novella. It's a steamy hallmark movie-esque story. From the workplace aspect, to the fake dating, to realizing that the feelings are not unrequited, it was all just so good.

Then there's the relationship that Avery has with her parents, and that just made me so happy. Plus Tom doing what he did for Christmas, that just won me over even more.

One Little Favor may be a novella, but by the end you'll feel as though you really know the characters.

I am falling for Julia's writing, and her characters. I cannot wait to see what Julia writes next. Once it's announced I'll be adding it to my TBR, I know that for certain.

🎄🎄Book Review 🎄🎄

One Little Favor by Julia Conners

If you are looking for a quick, sweet, sexy and sassy Christmas Novella One Little Favor would be a perfect read!
I met Tom and Avery in Conners previous book One Last Shot, and I fell in love with their wit and banter. I was so excited to read how their story began.
Tom always ran. He ran away from his family drama, from any serious relationships until he ran into Avery. She tried to stay away from him, until she couldn’t any longer. I loved to see their story develop, they let their guard down and went for it. Tom was just so sweet, patient, understanding and did anything and everything for Avery. Nothing like a good grumpy boss, workplace, forbidden, fake relationship story to keep the pages turning. Throw in a couple of hurdles, roller coasters, and a little angst and you have this great story. I highly recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed a complementary copy of this book.

Tom is the uptight grumpy lawyer, Avery is his friendly, different coffee cup to fit her mood assistant. When Tom's brother decides to make a impromptu visit, Tom enlists Avery's help for an office makeover.
Avery's holiday plans have gone up in smoke, so she has no excuse to say no Toms weekend office make over request. Except that she will be alone with her super, sexy boss who she can't seem to stop thinking about.
One weekend, one office, a boss, and his assistant, what could possibly happen??
Avery was such an awesome FMC. She displayed such composed, regal like vibes while in her assistant role. But once Tom peeled back her layers, there was so much hidden underneath. Tom he portrays such a grump, but under all that lays, a man who cares so deeply for Avery it's very endearing. These two are so hot and heavy sexually it's fantastic. Avery is such a kick ass queen in the bedroom, and Tom is totally digging it.
This is must read!

Holiday must read! Perfect mix of Steamy and swoony.

Holiday must read! Perfect mix of Steamy and swoony.

I am super into JC’s Frozen Hearts series. So getting some Tom and Avery love? Well that just made my day.

I was all in with this couple from the start, I read their story in one sitting. I loved it!

These two are so stinkin’ sweet! When I met them in One Last Shot, I just knew their story was gonna be good. The two of them just radiate love for each other.

Reading the beginning of their relationship proved just that. Tom, oh man what can be said about this wonderful man. Too much that’s what.

He is absolutely dreamy!! The perfect mix of sexy grump, sweet gentleman and dirty lover.

Wooo that scene on the beach… Yowza!

You can read this as a standalone, but really get in on the series folks. It’s freaking amazing.Loved getting a little extra Alex and Petra up in the baby!!

ARC Review
“I’m pretty sure that this is either the best decision I’ve ever made in my life, or I’m about to get arrested for kidnapping.”

If you’ve been looking for the spicy version of a Hallmark Movie - THIS IS IT!

Tom is in a bind. He has family coming into town and needs to find someone to be the girlfriend he told them he has. He’s the office grump, except where his executive assistant is concerned. And now he needs a little favor from her.

Avery is competent and headstrong. She knows Tom’s a cinnamon roll under all the grinch and isn’t afraid to bring out that side of him. She agrees to help him out but as things progress, the fake begins to feel all too real.

But she’s the one who stands to lose everything, not him. It was supposed to be one “little” favor, but now…

This book has sarcastic banter, gift giving, Christmas spirit, spice, and an HEA. I highlighted so much of it - even two entire pages at one point!

For being a novella, it has well developed backstories, a complete storyline, and a satisfying ending. You meet new friends and familiar faces in the Frozen Hearts series. This is a definite favorite holiday read of mine and I will most definitely be reading it again soon!

To tell you the truth, usually office romance isn't my cup of tea but I've been curious about Tom and Avery since I read "One Last Shot" so I decide to give it a try.

Now about the book, at first I'm a little bit confused by its timeline but once I get over it, I enjoy reading this novella so much. If you think Tom is a reckless lawyer in a previous book, you're going to see Tom in a new light in this book. He is so sweet and caring for Avery. I like Avery. She is very effective in everything and she has had a crush on Tom for so long. Turn out, Tom has had a crush on her too. Of course, there is a little bit offcice drama in the book but Tom's reaction is very impressive... well, he is a lawyer after all. And if you can detect their chemistry in a previous book, wait till you read when they finally are together. It's just WOW and I think this novella is the hottest book of Julia Connors I read.

An absolutely perfect holiday novella with the perfect dash of spice. I couldn’t put this down. I loved these two so much from the Frozen Hearts series and couldn’t wait to read about their story.

Everything about this story was so pure and sweet. Tom is such a sweetheart and I love that he was grumpy to everyone but her. I would love to see more about Tom and his family but I really love that we got a little before peak on Alex’s sorry as well.

Avery is doing everything she can to support her parents after her dad had an accident. Now that she’s gotten a job that pays well enough for her to do so, she can’t let the feelings she has for her grumpy boss go any father than day dreams.

When he asked her for help she can’t help but say yes even though she knows it will be difficult.

When things change and her job is on the line what will she choose?

Are you ready for a delightfully steamy Christmas novella? Then you’ve come to the right place. One Little Favor gives you all the things you want in a office place romance. Tom, grumpy high powered boss man, and Avery, driven, accomplished, friends will everyone, executive assistant, are experiencing mutual pining that they both think is one sided, until they discover that it isn’t for either of them.
Sad that her parents will be out of town, Avery agrees to help Tom get his office ready for an impromptu visit from his brother (insert family drama here) and in the process of a weekend renovation discover they can’t resist each other any longer.
I really enjoyed One Little Favor and it’s the perfect read for the holidays! Did I mention there’s a tropical island involved? Also, it includes my favorite micro trope - only she makes him smile! Happy reading!!
