Whew, Brixx Did Not Come to Play!

Brixx was out here living life on his own terms, but meeting Reagan? That flipped everything upside down. I loved watching him surrender to love and make proving her wrong his top priority. Their connection was far from conventional, but somehow it just worked.

Now, I won’t lie—Miss Reagan irritated me a time or two, but I can’t deny her loyalty to her family, added so much depth to her character.

This story had me hooked from start to finish. The chemistry, the growth, the drama—it all came together perfectly. Loved it!

Worth the wait!!!

When I say this book was worth the wait....I MEAN IT!!! Brixx and those black Air Forces are standing behind every one that he loves. I LOVE his honesty and the way he loves and takes care of Regan, his mama and Spyro. I'm sorry to see this series end but I'm excited for Spyro's story. I would love a spin off about the new family dynamic (cousin, nephew, brother/bonus dad, sister/niece) that's too much mess/drama to not know how they navigate this new family dynamic. Hopefully Regan and Brixx will make some appearances in his story so that I can get my Brixx fix.

Loved it

This did t go the way I expected and that’s not a complaint. Very happy with how things ended but I have to say I think there’s something not quite right with Coco.

I just saw Spyro had his own duology so I’m curious to see how his story ends!

OK in book 2 things are starting to wrap up and the characters come together. Reagan is still childish, however. Brixx’s mom really showed up in this book and I was here for it.

It did get confusing with all of the children in this book, but overall it was a good book a good end to the series and I would recommend to anyone looking for an urban romance. That doesn’t have a lot of romance. It has a little bit of spice, but It has a lot of drama. hood drama, and family drama, and sometimes a mix of both Definitely kept me entertained the past eight or nine hours.

Ok so Reagan grew up some in book 2. She annoyed me so much in book 1 but this time I liked her so much more. Brixx loved so hard and even with him being unhinged he always put Reagan and his OG first. The only person able to get him straight was his OG and she didn’t mind using her Cain for assistance when needed. So many buried secrets came out and there was no need for secrets within the families. I enjoyed this series.

I enjoyed Book 2...this follow-up was necessary. I loved how Brixx came full circle with Reagan and his family. From finally claiming her and getting a bigger home to being the man Reagan needed, it was a good hood love story.

Ok so loved the series the only thing that threw me off was that Brixx was basically his brother’s stepdad in the end which was kind of odd. Then him & Reagan had a kid together. To be fair he didn’t know D’Angelo was his dad but still. I fw the HEA, but I still have questions lol …

Probably gonna be thinking about this for some days.

The final installment of this gripping series doesn’t just cross the finish line—it drifts through it at a breakneck pace. This conclusion brings the volatile journey of Brixx and Reagan to a head, delivering a story that is as much about the weight of the past as it is about the uncertainty of the future.

The narrative split-screens between two protagonists who are both fighting for their lives, albeit in very different arenas.

* **Brixx** is caught in a literal life-or-death struggle. The "full throttle" pacing described in the synopsis translates perfectly to the page, as he is forced to dig into "buried histories." This adds a layer of mystery to the urban grit, making his survival feel earned rather than guaranteed.

* **Reagan** provides the emotional heartbeat of the story. Her arc—balancing a high-risk pregnancy with a crumbling relationship—is raw and relatable. Her struggle for "liberation" serves as a powerful counterpoint to Brixx’s external battles, proving that sometimes the hardest fights are the ones we have with ourselves.

### Themes of Loyalty and Legacy
What sets this finale apart is its focus on **consequences.** The "buried truths" mentioned aren't just plot devices; they are the catalyst for character growth. The book explores how much of our history we can actually outrun and whether love is enough to bridge the gap when trust has been decimated.
---

### What Makes This a Standout Finale:
* **High Stakes:** Every decision feels heavy. From Brixx protecting his "prized possessions" to Reagan’s arduous path to freedom, the risks are palpable.

* **Authentic Voice:** The story stays true to the genre, maintaining a gritty, fast-paced atmosphere while leaning deep into the complex interpersonal dynamics of the lead couple.

* **Satisfying Resolution:** It successfully ties up the "complicated connections" established in previous books, leaving readers with a sense of closure that is both hard-won and realistic.

> **Final Verdict:** A relentless, emotional rollercoaster. This is a must-read for fans of the series who want to see if Brixx and Reagan can finally find peace—or if the storm will finally claim them both.

The grip tightens.....

Ms. Lakia, you know how to keep a reader intrigued. I was awaiting how the family dynamic was going to work between Brixton and Reagan. You wrote this story like it wasn’t an awkward situation. Brixton stepped up and became the father figure that Kash needed in his life. He let Riley be raised by Dantae and his wife. Dantae finally realized that Brixton wasn't his enemy. Brixton really did Dantae a solid. Dantae just had to readjust his feelings and business plans. His new plan included Brixton, and it worked out in everyone's favor. The family dynamic worked, and everyone became one big unit. It was a plethora of healing taking place throughout the novel. Brixton's mother was able to gain her independence again with the aid of Reagan. Rio and Jaliah are still going strong and making waves. Chop, Dylan, and Armani are living their happily throuple life. However, I get the vibe that with the information we know about Spyro, some things are about to be shaken up again. Spyro is coming in hot, and I am ready to see what we haven’t learned about him yet.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to get into this series, now is the time. Ms. Laika knows how to reel you in and keep you there for the next masterpiece.

I so loved Brixx for Reagan even with Reagan having kids by father(D’Angelo) and son(Brixx). I like how Brixx got in running the Brooks empire, made his money, started legit businesses, and then got out. Brixx’s mom, Ms. Campbell was so sweet and I’m glad that she was finally able to gain her independence after Brixx sheltering her for so long. I was laughing so hard when Ms. Ranetta’s skeletons fell out of the closet of her sleeping with D’Angelo since she was always trying to be so judgmental of everyone else. I’m glad that Cyn left Spyro because he kept cheating on her so I don’t blame her for being done done. It’s crazy to me that Spyro dropped out of law school and now running the Brooks empire. I can’t wait to read his book when it drops.

a love story with a little hood

This was such a good read and I’m going need for you to bring them backkkkkkkk. You never used soul mates but that’s exactly what Brix and Rae was. It showed the family dynamic of dysfunction yet so much love. I smiled so much reading both books within 1 day. I love, love and positive interactions. I don’t have much to say about Rae because she was so young and immature and had no idea how to maneuver through life. I know her family loved her down bad and gave her so much grace because she was learning and growing trying to become the women she could look in the mirror and be happy with herself and decisions. I can go on and on but just know you did your big one.

Love a happy ending even for a Hood Story🤣🤣🤣🤣

SIDENOTE (aka “Don’t come for my stars!”):
Just a quick heads-up my ratings are based on whether I’d reread the book or add it to my personal collection, not the quality of the story itself. So here’s how I roll:

5 🤩 = I’m obsessed with everything the storyline, the author, and the narrators! I read it yearly and own ALL the copies: physical, digital, and Audible. I can basically recite this book. It lives in my private library.
4 🌟 = Loved the story, the author, and the narrator (if it’s audio). I’d happily reread it when I need a solid comfort read.
3 ✨ = Enjoyed the story, the author, and definitely the narrators. A great addition to my yearly reading challenge likely to revisit if it’s part of a series I need to refresh.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really liked how everything came together for Brixx, Reagan, & their blended families. The Brooks men were able to put all their differences to the side, and embrace Brixx into the fold. I also love how all the men in these two series (Brixx & Malice Matrimony) we’re stand up family guys. They all stood ten toes down behind their woman & always put family first. Not to mention, all the men in this book was book bae material. If you have not read the Malice Matrimony series, you should. Not only is it a great series, but it will give you the back story on Rio, Jaliah, Armani, Dylan, & Chop.

This story started off with Brixx in a very sticky situation not knowing how he would get out but Ms. Campbell was protecting her baby at all costs and pulled out some information about Ranetta causing g her to convince Chop and Dantae to let him go. Reagan's little secret was revealed and with D'Angelo out she was free to be with Brixx! A lot happened in this book but in the end old secrets surfaced, Ranetta and Dontae seperated, Reagan and Brixx fell in love and now have a new baby. What will happen with Spyro, Coco and the rest of the family, we will have to wait for Ms. Lakia!! Great read!

Beautiful hood love story!

I started listening to book 1 on Spotify, and once it ended, I had to find book 2. Brixx and Reagan's love story is unorthodox and comes with lots of confusion and drama, but they still manage to let their love guide them through the hardships. Brixx is rough around the edges, but Reagan accepts him and inspires him to grow. Brixx was in love with her from the moment he met her, and that love only grew with time and experience. I love reading their love story. It's gritty, erotic, romantic, and entertaining. I recommend it to anyone who loves the good girl/ bad boy trope.

This was a fun sequel to Brixx. Just like the first book, there were plenty of hood-tivities and drama! I feel like the first book had more jaw dropping moments, but this second book really built on the drama from the first one. There was still plenty going on, it just wasn’t as jarring. The sequel also spent more time building on the romance that was developing between Brixx and Raegan.

I’m not gonna lie…Brixx was a bit too hot headed for me. Everybody doesn’t need to be stepped to for any mild disrespect…even fictional men need to chill sometimes. But I had a good time regardless! Overall, I enjoyed this series. I’ll definitely be reading more from Lakia!

part 2 of Brixx and Reagan's story. enjoyed the read but this really couldn't been one book. after the first book, I didn't see how the author would redeem their relationship after learning the familial relationship between some of the players. I thought Lakia did a good job of normalizing the situation and taking the yuck factor out. now I just see them as one big family.
as with the first book, the writing in this book was good and the plot entertaining. worth a read if this is your genre.

This sequel raises the stakes and keeps the same addictive energy Lakia is known for. The romance is gritty but heartfelt, the spice is moderate yet meaningful, and the storyline packs enough drama to keep you invested.

Trigger Warnings:
Gun violence, street crime, off scene domestic violence, toxic relationships, and emotional manipulation.

Family Is What We Make It!

Lakia, I just love Brixx, this crew has gone through so much. They have found the weakest links, they have found who is real and who isn't. I still love Chop and his life. I love how everyone finally is on the same page. Something is telling me CoCo is gonna get more than she bargained for. To see so much growth in this crew was so great. Great read little one🤗🤗🤗🤗

My heart is full

Ugh! Lakia gurl I waited for this release. Like stalked kindle waited. This finale was right on time. The love I have for Brixton and Reagan is abundant! I knew their outcome was going to be forever. I wish we could’ve gotten into his brothers and that whole situation, but I’m taking whatever I get with this story. It was a great way to end this series. I hope we get a few spin offs tho 👀👀👀

Great series

This was a great finale. Everything worked out with the whole family. Brixx started off not wanting to do with his new found family but as time went on they blended perfectly. Reagan found her true soulmate and great father figure for Kash. I’m happy Ms. Campbell got her new independence and peace. I know there is more to Spyro story and I can’t to find out. But great job Lakia!!!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Lakia, thanks so much for this finale! Wonderful ending to a great story! Brixx is that dude and I was happy that he was able to let his guard down with Rio and Chop, eventually! The family dynamic s was very interesting and you need to pay close attention to keep up, but one thing for sure I was happy that Chop mama got hers, she was just messy! I want to see Coco and Spyro, because no don't see her relationship lasting with the good Doctor!

Great Ending

Brixx really stuck to his plan with the illegal business not being long for him especially with his growing family with Regan and I loved that for the both of them. Also, I loved that Regan spoke up a lot more for herself in this book BUT Brixx still handled the aftermath when Regan wasn’t around (or sometimes around) to still check that person. Great read and finale to this book!

All White Brixx

Mann Brixx definitely is unhinged and Lakia just had to show it at the repass and the double date just in case we forgot. He be soo serious and I think that is what makes it funny. I just knew Reagan was gonna go off in him at that repass but she knew how that man is. I am glad he kept his word on getting in and out of the game. Definitely gotta know what is up with Skyro and law school!!
