Angelina Vittori

Playing Gold Digger for a night is all fun and games until you steal from a mafia boss and get caught.

Thinking I could fool a man like Nicolai Leone and get away with it was my first mistake. He is ruthless and dangerous, but devilishly handsome. My second mistake was falling for him. Third mistake? Believing I'd be safe with him.

In what world is an angel safe from the devil?

Nicolai Leone

No one has ever fooled me and made it out alive, except her. I'll play her game, that is until she tries playing it with another man. That's where I draw the line.

Angelina was mine from the moment I laid eyes on her. Most people see her as an innocent little angel, but not me. I see all the dark parts of her that she keeps hidden. And when I'm done with her, people will see her for what she is.

I taught her everything she knows, but she got to where she is all on her own. I thought training her to be mafia would protect her, so how did I lose her in the end?

Mark my words, I will find her. For I am the devil, I will go to the depths of hell for her.

4.75 🌟 maybe even a 4.85. Honestly, I loved how fast-paced this story was. It wasn't overly wordy or slow in some parts like a lot of stories I read. Both main characters were strong and fun to read. The spice was good. It's not an overly long story that certainly helps nail it for me. Editing wasn't very good, so take that for what it is. I can overlook it when the story keeps me intrigued. My complaints are minimal, really. I thought some parts were slightly cheesy and a little rushed. But to keep pace and keep the book shorter, I feel like it worked. If you like angst, mafia, burn the world for her, then I think you should give this one a go. It's a fun ride. 🖤🎢

I found this author on TikTok and realize she’s local to my town. So of course I had to read it! I love supporting local authors!

This story is a quick read. It took less than a day for me to finish because it sucked me in. Nico is my favorite type of crazy. The story moves at 2x speed in the best way. It’s very spicy and has an easy to follow plot. It a great palette cleanser for those of us who love dark romance.

I can’t wait to see what she does with her career. All the little things that can be better come with experience there’s no lack of talent here. I can’t wait for Rosie’s book!

LOVED Paisley’s book! I finished the book in 5 hours, I just could not put the book down! Normally I do not read “spicy” books but there were so many surprising twists and Nico is just UGH. Definitely recommend! Can’t wait for the next book!

The story is good and it's a fast read. It was a little more spicy than I prefer, but good story once you get into it. As a first book it's good, although there were some word choices that didn't make sense (a-wall instead of awol when neither made sense and befriend when I believe the I tended phrase was either defriend or unfriend are two).

How does a book that centers around the premise that a sheltered 18-year-old girl can become a badass mafia boss in like a month get this many 5-star reviews?

So much about this was just unbelievable, and I know that fiction is about suspending disbelief sometimes, but come on.

There are just too many plot holes:
Angelina has been sheltered, kept prisoner in her own home her whole life. No access to technology, other people outside her immediate family and a tutor, nothing.
Yet, somehow
- she has a phone (and despite saying its secret her, dad texts her on it),
- manages to immediately click and become BFFs with 2 girls she meets randomly the one time her dad takes her outside with him for some reason,
- is able to communicate with those girls without her dad catching her (you want me to believe he isn't monitoring her phone?),
- manages to sneak out of the house several times and isn't caught because the security cameras aren't activated by motion just by lights? What kind of mob boss is this guy?
- is some kind of sex goddess despite being a sheltered virgin with no access to the real world.

Nico is an idiot who thinks he can turn the girl he JUST met into not only his partner, but also the top dog in like a month. They go through like 6 lessons on how to become a mafia boss and each lesson only lasts a day. Lesson 6 - shoot a gun 3 times; Got it! Lesson whatever - learn how to play poker, play 2 hands; Got it!
The fact that Nico is able to go out and get a tattoo (unplanned) the size of a baseball on his chest, all while Angelina is sleeping in, and come back home without any protection on that sucker might be the biggest unbelievable thing in this book. That thing would be oozing everywhere. And that bitch Angelina slaps his chest when she sees it. Rude!

Maybe I am too critical. This just felt like bad writing to me. All I could think about was how this is a perfect what not to do example of what we mean when we tell writers to show not tell. The descriptions were so bland, so boring.

I read this for a book club. I will not willingly read the rest of this series. I am honestly curious though how all those little old ladies will react to the fingerbanging in the club.
