Ashland Pride #2

Loving Lachlyn

Rate this book
For many years, mountain lion Alek Fallon believed he was fated to be alone forever. But after meeting Lachlyn, he knows that he's found his mate in the sweet she-bear and opens his home to her and her second mate, were-bear Jericho. Lachlyn is a shifting dud and cannot transform into her bear self. When Jericho's father tries to force her into her bear form using a cattle prod, she nearly dies. Jericho's father swears to find them, and now Alek, Jericho, and the lion pride are working together to keep everyone safe. When the mountain lions' enemy interferes, it's not only Lachlyn's life that is on the line, but all of theirs.

This book contains plenty of m/f/m loving, two men who will love their woman to the best of their ability, interfering female lions who don't know when to give up, and a camper used as a honeymoon suite. Be prepared for growling, neck biting, ceremonial marking, and a lot of sweethearted male mountain lions who just want to find love.

Jericho knew Lachlyn was his mate, but he had always felt that something was missing before getting up the courage to ask her. When she unexpectedly disappeared , Jericho never understood why. Now that Lachlyn is back briefly, Jericho plans to not make the same mistake twice, until his father intervenes and puts Lachlyn's life in danger.

A bear shifter that can't shift, Lachlyn doesn't believe she will ever be worthy of a mate. When Jericho realizes that perhaps they are a triad and need to find their third, everything shifts. Keeping Lachlyn safe is the highest priority, but it doesn't take long the third to be found.

Alek Fallon believed he would never meet his mate, but he knows instantly Lachlyn is it. He had not planned on a third, but is willing to adjust to keep Lachlyn. Everything is not smooth though when Jericho's father seems intent on destroying Lachlyn.

Another great read from R.E. Butler. I liked this on a lot, it was the story of a woman who doesn't feel she is of value, except she is. I enjoyed that the relationship was an adjustment for all three, but it also was very sweet.

The second book of the series was as promising as i thought it would be.

Alek was broody enough in Callie's book and in Sam's book so now finally he finds his mate in Lachlyn and her other mate Jericho.

The twists and turns of the book were intresting enough and the sex scenes hot hot hot...though in this book i found it all happening too quick....chuckles...
perhaps its me cause i was so caught up in the book.

Finished it in one day and have to say that the only thing troubling me is that we already met the next books tri-mates and kind of read part of the story so i am just waiting to see how R.E will play out those three...though have to say i am happy its Micah and Tristan and just can't wait!!!

A great book and a five star from me.

Loving Lachlyn is R.E. Butler's second book in her Ashland Pride series. Each book can be read as a standalone book.

In Loving Lachlyn, Lachlyn is a bear shifter who can't shift. Her high school sweetheart is were-bear Jericho, son of her den's king. After Jericho's father nearly kills her, Jericho and Lachlyn escape and run to her uncle in Ashland. In Ashland, Lachlyn meets Alek Fallon, a mountain lion shifter who is also Lachlyn's second mate. Together Jericho and Alek do their best to protect Lachlyn.

Loving Lachlyn is an enjoyable read with interesting characters, hot romance, and lots of action. I also love how the reader gets to catch up with characters from previous books.

'Loving Lachlyn' is a great second book in R.E. Butler's 'Ashland Pride' series. For those who enjoy her work, you will not be disappointed with this one! Full of lions and tigers and bears. oh my! (Well, maybe not the tigers, those are in a different series!!)
It's got good bears and bad bears, lions who love with their whole heart and lionesses who are just plain bitchy.
Thanks R.E. for another great read!

This book may be the 2nd book in the Ashland Pride series but it can easily be read as a stand alone book....although why would you want to deny yourself the chance to read any R.E book?
I love shifter books and this one didn't disappoint! Strong independent heroine, and not one but two amazingly sexy, caring males! This is a wonderfully well written story that gives us a chance to escape into a world of romance and excitement but also has some very hot steamy scenes between Lachlyn and her men-Alex the serious, thoughtful lion & Jericho the rugged, powerful bear. Both men have a deep desire to give all they have to protect and provide for the woman they love.......who wouldn't want that? The story is action-packed with several evil characters that challenge our heroes and their lovely lady but the best part is the beautiful romance that keeps me coming back for more. And this one doesn't fail to deliver. Good job Ms Butler!

Another great book! The Ashland pride is the family group we all hope to be part of. The romance is hot and heavy. The characters are outstanding. I've said it before and probably will say again, the worlds that R.E. Butler creates are amazing whether they are cities on Earth or on a different plane. I am excited for the next book in this seires. I have read all of her current books and would recommend each and every one of them.

What Is It About:
Lachlyn is a bear shifter that can't shifter. After Jericho's father finds out that Jericho wants to make with her and run, he takes matters into his own hands and tries to force her to shift with a cattle prod. They both manage to get away and they run to one of Lachlyn's relatives that lives near Ashland. Alek was starting to lose hope in finding his mate- the mountain lion males have begun pairing off to find their mates and he has no-one close to him. When he runs into Lachlyn, he realises that he's meant to be the third to their couple. But danger isn't far behind and both of their enemies will work together to get what they both want.

What I Liked and Didn't:
I wasn't sure how the plot was going to work with Alek joining an already established couple and I think that, for me, it didn't really work. I just felt like the balance wasn't right, Jericho had years of Lachlyn all on his own and he knows all of this information about her. The balance in the three of them just didn't feel right to me, I think I prefer it when the guys meet the woman at the same time and the relationship grows with a fresh start rather than this set-up. There were sweet moments in the relationship but with the men individually. Alek was sweet with wooing Lachlyn with the newness of their relationship, while Jericho was sweet by buying her favourite sweets and little inside jokes. Plot-wise, it was kind of like bookends. Jericho's dad was only involved in the story at the beginning and at the end. It's like they forgot he existed while the romance blossomed and that ruined the suspense of the story for me.

Final Thoughts:
This book wasn't a struggle to read and it was certainly entertaining. But I think that between this book and Sam's book, Sam's book is my preference over this.
Would I recommend it? Probably not.
Will I be carrying on the series? I think that I will out of curiosity for what's going on with the female mountain lions.

Ashland
Alek Fallon is a mountain lion shifter and deputy in Ashland. He never thought he would find a mate and the loneliness was getting to him.
Georgia
Lachlyn has been hiding out in Georgia since her parents sent her to college to be safe from the king of the were bears. He doesn't like werebears that can't shift and he does not want her around his son. When her grandma dies she has yo come back for one to handle things then leave for good. Only the werebear king gets her.
Jericho has always wanted Lachlyn. He doesn't care that she can't shift and he plans to leave the clan to be with her. When he finds out she is in dangerhe has to fight his father to keep her safe. He has no problem joining forces with Alek yo keep thier mate happy and safe.
Lots of action, drama, intrigue, suspense, betrayal, mystery and more. I couldn't put it down. It's even better the the first book!
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

Very Good!

Jericho & Lachlyn are on the run from his father; they’ve always been fri & lovers but never mated as they both felt that something was missing. When they stopped at Brio’s house they found out that Jericho’s parents had at 1 time been a triad & he suggested to them that maybe they were too but hadn’t met their 3rd yet.

Alek, after seeing his relatives get mated has been feeling not quite left out but more like he’s been missing something. When he & his family went to dinner at a friend’s house Alek found what he’d been missing; he found Lachlyn & Jericho.

Now you’ll have to read the book to find out what happens in their story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!!
Alek, Jericho, and Lachlyn’s story is intense in all the right ways! Lachlyn’s situation is so heartbreaking—stuck between her bear form that won’t shift and the oppressive forces trying to control her. Alek and Jericho are the epitome of protective mates, and watching them navigate the dangers and chaos surrounding Lachlyn while trying to prove their love is thrilling. I loved the blend of tenderness, sizzling romance, and suspense as they protect Lachlyn from threats. There’s also a wonderful sense of camaraderie and connection between the trio that made me root for them the whole way through.

A wonderfully sweet read with likeable characters and a good plot.
Lonely Alec gets his mates as his dad said he would.
Turns out his two mates are bear shifters with some serious problems.
Jericho and Lachlyn grew up together, but Lachlyn’s parents took her away from their den as she couldn’t shift.
The female mountain lions interfere again and cause problems.
We also get a female mountain lion named Melody introduced who is nothing like the other cruel females.
Read and reviewed previously but review missing.

Jericho and Lachlyn leave their former den after Lachlyn getting tortured by Jericho's Dad,the king of the den, because she couldn't shift and so they head for her Uncle Don's home.
By some divine fate, Alek and family attend a monthly dinner at the were-bear King Don's home at the same that Jericho and Lachlyn are staying there.
When they realize they are meant to be in tri-mating, they go home with Alek and get to know each other better.
Finally after believing he would never find his true mate, he has found Lachlyn and he is more than willing to share her with her other mate Jericho.
As they get to know each other and become closer, the bitch female mountain lions plot to destroy their happiness. But one lone female who is set apart from them escapes to hopefully get to the Pride in Ashland in time to warn them.

But the love and protectiveness of the Mountain Lion Pride saves them.

Lachlyn finally shifted to protect her mate.

Jericho and Alek claim their mate in all ways, and asks her to marry them.

Loving Lachlyn was touching, hot, sweet and romantic and very passionate, caring and sexy. It was a great book to read.

I am anxiously waiting for Marking Melody, so can't wait for it.

Loving Lachlyn is The Second in R.E. Butler's Ashland Pride series & follows the story of Lachlyn a Shifting were-Bear Dud who has been in love with  Jericho, Son of the Bear King, since they were kids, But things never felt quiet right between them.
After a vicious attack by the  bear king Lachlyn & Jericho finally escape so they can be together.
While on the run they meet lonely were-lion Alek, & Lachlyn realizes she's not destined to have one hot  mate but two  (the lucky minx!) to spend the rest of her Life, that is if those meddling female lioness stay out of  it.

description

As with the first book in the serious, loving lachlyn was sweet, cute, romantic maybe a little predicable at times but oh so naughty & action packed! & I was thrilled that sweet Alek finally found the mate he so desperatly longed for.
The writting flowed nicely & I loved catching up with the characters i feel in love with, as well as meeting new ones.
As with all of R.E.'s Book I'd defiently recommend it to lovers of romance, true love or anyone who just wants some good paranormal Lovin!

This was a great read, love the spongebob scene. This had great insight into the three main characters as well as a few others. Was great catching up with the Ashland pride again.

Jericho is a very caring, generous, accepting, protective thoughtful mate consodering how his horrible father brought him up and made him do. It was great for Jericho to find himself something to do that he was proud of even if it was hard work. He would also do whatever he could to make his mate happy.

Alek was a great balance as a second mate, hardworking, protective, accepting, generous to his mate and her other mate.

Lachlyn was a very warm person and was easy to love her, she was hardworking, generous, very caring even though she went through a horrible experience.

All in all was a great read, steamy sex scenes, funny moments and heartwarming monents.

We've picked up right where we left off in the last book but now Ms Butler introduces us to some werebears! I don't know what it is about werebears, but they really fascinate me. They seem so cuddly but so dangerous at the same time.

So Lachlyn is a werebear that can't shift and her on and off boyfriend is the son of the king werebear whose jerk of a dad can't seem to accept that the next king is mated to a dud of a shifter. So Lachlyn and Jericho move on but then they find the third in their tri-mating. Mmmm, shifting bears and mountain lions. And then we all get to live in the lion pride boarding house. Where can this go wrong.

But we have a little bit of drama with the bitchy female lions (they are like a bad penny!) and also with the king bear shifter (he's quite a jerk .

Off to #3!
