This little book would make a good program viewing guide for the show “The Chosen”. It outlines each of the events in the program and links each episode to biblical stories.
But I have a few problems with it. It is not “the forgotten teachings of Jesus”. It is all Scriptural. That is not a thing to be missed by the title of the book.
Also, this is also a good book for beginners, but doesn’t show deeper connections between the show and the Bible. That is not necessarily a fault in the book. It is just a primer and not a text, and one should know that going into it.
Overall, I’m disappointed in it. I think it’s a missed opportunity to stretch the spiritual life of the viewer/reader.
The Forgotten Teachings of Jesus unlocks some of the deeper and cultural meanings of the Scriptures that are depicted in Season 1 of The Chosen. This is a great book to read alongside watching the TV show. It is also an enjoyable and uplifting read!
