Overall just a colorful, visual, gay little treat: a hot throuple, flirting in German, a lezzy roadtrip, a butch boi camping trip, a trip to Dykea, and looooots of strap and softball. [Alexa, play Christina Aguilera “What a Girl Wants”]

A beautiful end to the funniest books I’ve ever read. I love this trilogy. I’ve never laughed so hard. And it’s amazingly gay.

I can’t believe it’s over!!! 😭🩵✨💕💛🥹🩵 This book is every bit the ending this story deserves! 🥰 It has all the same camp, sauciness, humor and heart as the last two volumes, but everything comes to a perfect close with the Farewell to Babes tour. It really feels like the end of an era, and there were so many great callbacks to the first two books that brought it all home. It’s the perfect time for an audacious, joyful, unapologetically queer book to be out in the world and everyone must read it start to finish if you haven’t already!! 🥹✨💕💛🐺👑

For reasons of sheer queer inundation and also general, glorious tomfoolery, I think Grand Slam Romance is one of my favorite graphic novel series I've read. Somehow, it gets better with every book, and Farewell to Babes is a great capstone. I would throw this book at every sapphic I know, slutty or otherwise!

The series starts out so camp, and Farewell to Babes does NOT lose its absurdity, but it's heartwarming to me how FtB as a trilogy-ender settles into a narrative about, well, figuring out your fuckboy era and also your complicated feelings about your job, your home, and your relationships; finally sorting out all your homosexually charged rivalries and exes; learning how to deal with your Big Romantic Feelings and not run for the hills very far away from the thing you actually want, etc., etc. At one point one character refers to the main throuple as a bunch of "commitment-phobic U-Haulers" and I can't think of a better way to describe exactly what's wrong with these three LOL. (Yes I will build all this Dykea furniture for you while you're away doing Job Stuff, yes I will also actually try to fly through a door when I fear the object(s) of my affection might be getting Emotionally Intimate and Vulnerable with me.)

God what's not to love. I went back to count and there are no less than 82 instances of dyke drama that occur in a tidy 275-ish pages. I finally got the deep dive on Wolfgang that I always wanted. Wolf & Mickey's relationship also hit new strides that felt necessary and also, well, fun and horny. Beloved hated sidepiece Gina gets her day in the sun to be a moody, nasty disaster who listens to the hatefuck albums about her most detested rival & eventual There Was Only One Bed bedmate who she DOES kiss with tongue and YES, it gets WEIRD.

I'm not sure how to explain this book in a way that might get across the idea that it is, in fact, super fun, and sweet, and silly. It's the most serious of the three books but it doesn't lose its heart for it. It's full of dramas and dykes of all shapes and sizes just running amok, being messy and silly. It's a good time. A REAL good time. There are very small references to certain IRL dyke-y things that make me think, ah yes. The gays who put this together have lived a at-times messy queer life, and it shows. (In a good way.) I DON'T KNOW JUST SIT YOUR ASS DOWN AND READ THIS!

Okay it's time for a big review because I haven't read in the past three months due to mental health reasons, but the second this book came through on hold at my library I had to get it and I devoured it.

I don't know what it is about the series Grand Slam Romance that makes me so happy but it just does. I think a big part of it is the art, it's so gorgeous and the character designs are spectacular. Especially because so many women and nb people in fiction are portrayed as just one way, one body type, having a variety of women AND a variety of non binary representation was so cool.

I love Mickey, I will always love Mickey, they're just as much of a mess as they were in the first two and that is why they are my favorite. And their chemistry with Astra and Wolfy is off the charts this book.

And for a short series that didn't focus much on background characters it actually gave really satisfying endings to so many of the characters.

This series is one of my favorites, I have read the first two books countless times and no doubt the third will be the same because it was just as fun. Gonna be looking out for a collectors edition box set... a girl can dream ;)

This series is a game changer- a graphic novel series with magical powers that come from love of sports and QUEERNESS? I don’t like sports, but I actually enjoy the sports in this series. Aaaannd then it gets POLY?? Wow. The art and the vibrant colors keep me hooked, and there are so many details to take in. I adore the layers of humor, romance, tension, relief, and whimsy that are all over these stories. It was so beautiful to see Astra, Wolfgang, and Mickey all grow so much individually and as a throuple in book 3.

Kinda confused by goodreads telling me this book comes out tomorrow when it is very much already available to read on Hoopla ???

Anyway, the last page with all the pictures made me cry, I read through all 3 Grand Slam Romance books and I am completely in love with the wonderful story and cast.
And it's fucking funny!? I love that!

Also, huuuh, Gina Crème call me 👀👀👀

I'm glad all the people in these books have found each other. They deserve each other because they are all toxic partners, like they truly can only date each other, otherwise they would be breaking innocent's hearts. The drama and the mess and the little bit of softball make this volume and the series as a whole so entertaining.

Oh le big sigh! One of my favourite graphic novel series ever has come to an end. And oh, what love I have for it! Horniness! Silliness! Lots of sapphic goodness! And just so much love. I loved it so much. A true feel-good story for me for sure. I'm sorry to see it end, but so excited to see what the creators come up with next!

What an outstanding end to an outstanding series.

Maybe it’s recency bias, but this might have been my favorite book out of the three. It is hard to pick a favorite, though, because every book in this trilogy is beyond excellent. This has surpassed its title as my favorite graphic novel series and earned a place as one of my favorite book series of all time.

I cannot recommend these books enough. So underratedly HILARIOUS. So unabashedly queer. The art is beautiful. The characters are incredible. The love and care and attention to detail are present on every frame. The jokes are punchline after punchline after punchline. I rarely make it through a full page without laughing. These books are queer joy personified and anyone who hasn’t read them is missing out.

While I’m glad to own the complete series now, I’m so sad to see it end. I could stay in this world with these characters forever. I’ve reread the first two books in the series multiple times, and I’m positive I’ll reread this one (and the first two again) many more times as well.
