"I am truly blessed that Priscilla and Lisa Marie allowed me to share time with them. All loving relationships need permission and acceptance… I was blessed to enjoy the beauty of their soul’s silent whispers. I was with them through their best times before they both had to navigate the minefields filled with obstacles, challenges, fear, worry, doubt, anxiety, hatred, envy, jealousy, and greed."
Mike stone is considered a villain in the lore that is Elvis’ last years. Mike Stone’s autobiography is equal parts congratulatory reflection on his accomplishments and the A list he’s rubbed shoulders with as well as a surface level recount of his 3-4 years in Priscilla and Lisa Marie’s lives. When he was in their lives- Elvis was still on this Earth and in max power- around 1971-1974. Mike’s recount of that time is kind and compassionate. And the storm that ensued in both those women’s life after Elvis passed away- he treads gently on the choices they made but does make his opinion heard- and once again, he’s kind on Al accounts. Perhaps most surprising of all is his recollection and realistic expectations of Elvis. He never utttered an unkind word- but was honest about the choices Elvis made. That’s the best way to sum up the whole book- Mike Stone was kind about a tumultuous time in some key famous people’s lives.
