As always, Bre did a great job with this book. I always love her books. They are relatable. Jeremiah and Amberlee were perfect. I loved the story of when and how they met and then them finally being able to be together. It has some spice but it doesn’t drown out the plot. I love a good brother’s best friend story.

It has Always Been Us By Bre Rose, is the most common of forbidden love, we all may have experienced falling for our siblings best friend or falling for your best friend sibling. What happens when it doesn't work out or that person doesn't feel the same way. But a bigger problem maybe falling for your best friends sibling when there is an age difference but probably not the best idea when your best friends sister is 15 and you are 21.

Jeremiah is Danny's best friend he meets in the military and brings home to introduce him to his family when they both have leave. Instantly Danny's little sister gets a huge crush on Jeremiah. Amberlee thinks her crush is all one sided how could a 21 year old man see anything in a 15 year old girl. But Amberlee feels a spark, a connection with Jeremiah. One night when Danny and Amberlee's parents are on a weekend getaway, Danny's on again off again girlfriend from highschool brings over her friend Sylvia. Sylvia has made it known that she will do whatever it takes to get out of their small town. One thing leads to another and Sylvia and Jeremiah hook up. Amberlee stumbles upon them having sex and is of course crushed. Three months later Amberlee is ease dropping and finds out that Sylvia is pregnant and Jeremiah is marring her. Jeremiah's parents where not in love when they got married but ultimately fell in love and remained married until their fatal car accident. So he thinks the best thing for his child is marring Sylvia. Of course Amberlee is crushed, her worst nightmare has come true. Especially Amberlee knowing by again ease dropping that Sylvia lied to Jeremiah and said she was on the pill when she wasn't. Her plan to get out of the little town had come to fruition.

Amberlee goes on to graduate, go to college and earn a teaching degree. She has boyfriends but in her mind none of them add up to Jeremiah. In 7 years she kept her distance anytime Jeremiah was around. She also never paid attention to anything going on with him, if she heard his name in a conversation she would leave the room or change the subject.

Now 7 years later Amberlee took her first teaching job and is not really happy in the school district she is in. Danny who is now married with a little boy and living in North Carolina, keeps encouraging Amberlee to apply for a teaching job near him. He has an apartment over the garage, his wife will be able to get to know her better, his son will have his aunt who he adores close and Danny has a huge surprise that may make it just ideal for Amberlee to live closer to her family. So when Amberlee gets the job it all seems to work out perfectly, that is until she realizes Jeremiah is stationed in North Carolina too. As her brothers best friend she is sure to run into Jeremiah, Sylvia and their family often. Now all those old feelings come flooding back that is if they have ended at all? There maybe more than just Danny’s surprise Amberlee will find out when she gets to North Carolina.

If this is your first time reading Bre Rose this is the perfect story to start with. She is the type of writer that her charters have depth, the story is intriguing, there are surprises that you don't see coming, the chemistry makes the sex that much hotter and with all of these things and so much more there hasn't been a book that I haven't loved and had a hard time putting down till the last page.

Bre Rose is a queen of spicy, dark, twisted romance but after reading this in less than a day, she quite possibly may have become a queen of sweet romance that makes you cry as well.

I was rooting for Amerbelee and Jeremiah from the beginning. The age difference at the time may have made it impossible (well actually illegal) for them to have been together but without expressly knowing Jeremiah's feelings, I wanted Amerbelee to overcome that obstacle and hook him. Problem was that even without the age difference, her brother Ryan was going to be a massive hurdle to both of them and any relationship Amerblee could hope to have. Too bad for Amberlee that she catches Jeremiah hooking up with an older girl from her town and they end up pregnant, leaving her to forever pine after a man she will never be able to have. Things really get interesting when Amerblee accepts a job in North Carolina and ends up living with her brother for a few months while she gets settled seven years after her initial meeting of Jeremiah. Now she is going to have to work extra hard to avoid Jeremiah who also conveniently is always there and attempt to hide her feelings that have never gone away. Problem is, she isn't the only one with feelings and both her and Jeremiah are not the best at keeping this feelings a secret from almost everyone.

I loved the chemistry between both Jeremiah and Amerblee, especially after they reconnected 7 years later. There was something so sweet and genuine between both of them and it was really interesting to see just how it grew over the story. Amberlee is certainly guarded in regards to her feelings and isn't willing to necessarily let Jeremiah in, despite his numerous attempts to reconnect and get closer to her, especially when Sylvia, Jeremiah's wife, could be around the corner at any moment and she doesn't even hold a candle to her. I think that their path to reconnection certainly had some bumps they had to overcome along the way, especially with the secrets that are being hidden, but their path to finding each other was perfectly crafted that I really felt like I was living it for myself. Throw in Ryan and his incessant need to keep any man he knows away from Amberlee and I was crying, laughing and ready to throw my kindle all at the same time, especially with the bombs that were dropped near the end.

I loved this change of pace from Bre and while I will forever love her ability to write dark and twisted romances, I will forever be ready to read some of the sweeter stuff from her, especially if we get a story about Ryan and how he ended up finding his wife, Maddy. Something tells me that he didn't have an easy road with her and I for one would love to see just how they ended up as they are now.

Forbidden romance, Brothers Best Friend, Age Gap and Seomg Chance . Bre has taken so many of my absolute favorite tropes and entwined them in the most beautifully written and emotionally charged love story I’ve read all summer . From the second I started Jeremiah and Amberlees story I knew I was in so much trouble, I knew without a doubt I was was not getting much sleep and man was I so right . Amberlee has been hopelessly in love with Jeremiah since she was 15 years old , from rhe day she brother brought him home she was convinced he was her soul mate and her future . But the difference in age between them made it impossible for them to be together. Little did she know what Jeremiah was just as smitten with her as she was with him . Something happenes that changes everything and never amber completely heartbroken. It’s not until many years later that Jeremiah finally admits his feelings for her , but is it too late , or is there a chance at love and a happily ever after for these two . It’s Only Been Us is the type of Love story that has the ability to make you feel everything from being utterly speechless to yelling outta pure frustration and wanting to throw your iPad right across the room , you’ll smile , you’ll laugh , and you’ll sob like a baby all while rooting so freaking hard . It really was like being on the wildest ride at the amusement park . As per usual Bre has once again exceeded all my expectations and delivered another home run right out of the ballpark 💜💜💜💜

If you want a sweet military, brother’s best friend romance with a just a hint of spice, this latest book by this author is a one for you.

The story of Amberlee and Jeremiah has several detours to their HEA. Amberlee has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Jeremiah, since she was 15. He unfortunately was 21 at the time and saw her only has his friend’s little sister. That same year Jeremiah learns that the girl he was hooking up with was going to have his child and they married. There is also the fact that her brother has warned off any male who shows and interest in her.

Flashforward to the present time and Amberlee is 23. She has done her best to forget about her feelings for Jeremiah and has perfected the art of not being around when he comes home. When these two meet up again, the sparks fly. He is now divorced, has a child and the woman he married abandoned their daughter when she was a baby. The relationship between Amberlee and Jeremiah heats up fast but there is still her brother.

This story is different from what I usually read from this author, but it is just as good. While her previous stories involved morally gray anti-heroes and darker themes, this story was a nice change. The writing is just as good as her darker books and her FMC is still feisty and independent.

Brother’s best friend. Very small OW drama. This story follows Amberlee and Jeremiah. He’s her brothers best friend and they’ve always had a crush on each other. He was 22 and she was 15 so he never acted on it and plus her brother is very protective over her. A drunken mistake gets him in trouble when he gets the OW pregnant. Out of obligation he marries her and breaks the heart of the FMC.

Seven years later and she is moving to be near her brother and his family, but that also puts her close to the MMC. He is divorced but she doesn’t know that and does everything to avoid him but he’s hell bent on finally making her his. When she realizes he’s no longer married and has always had feelings for her, they decide to be together but telling her brother is going to be a battle. It doesn’t go well as predicted but he finally gets his head out of his ass to accept it.

All is going well until the OW shows up. She forcefully kisses the MMC which is seen by the FMC and she leaves distraught and gets hurt. Once the MMC explains everything, all is well again and they get their HEA.

This book was just okay. It was cliche and predictable and somewhat dragged and it’s a short read which is kind of crazy to have any aspect of it dragging. It was more so the same back and forth during the main characters POV. The writing was very basic. This is a maybe for me.

Bre Rose has written one of my favourite tropes – brothers best friend, and this story was so well written and done so well. I love that we get a background to our story told from the side of Amberlee, a sweet innocent teenager that fell on instant sight of Jermiah, her brothers best friend. In the instant that she falls her heart shatters the same night, seeing Jermiah with someone else, and not only that but the other woman ends up pregnant and Jermiah does what he feels is the right thing to do and marries her. Amberlee’s heart never heals and every man she encounters never lives up to the man who is the other half of her soul.

Amberlee’s feelings weren’t one sided Jermiah had them too, but the problem was the age-gap and she was his best friend's little sister. For him she was always the one who got a way, the one he never stopped thinking about.

Fast forward and Amberlee has now moved to be closer to her brother which equals closer to
Jermiah. Both feelings are reawakened will these two get their second chance, their HEA.

This story entices you in from the start and you won’t be able to put this book down. Your heart will break and ride that rollercoaster of emotions a long with Amberlee and Jermiah. The realism in these characters and story draws you in.

A really beautiful story about misconceptions, an over protective brother and an unrequited love. Who hasn't had a teen crush on their brother's friend? I certainly did, so I can totally relate to Amberlee! But where as I got over mine, Amberlee's heart and soul was wrapped up good and tight and it wouldn't relinquish the hold it had on Jeremiah. Even though he was married. Even though he had a child. He was forbidden territory and the hole in her heart was real. She tried to move on, she really did, but the heart is fickle, it wants what it wants. Years later, Amberlee and Jeremiah cross paths again when she relocates and the tension renews big time. I love how Amberlee tried not to get close, how she tries to avoid him, but noooo, that isn't possible! And Jeremiah, he's always had a thing for Amberlee, except he never acted on it. Yeah, Danny boy nipped that before it even had a bud! I so enjoyed both Jeremiah and Amberlee, how their feelings threatened to overwhelm them and how it all came together, once the preconceived falsehoods were blasted out the water! A lovely story of family, desires and and a love that cannot be stopped.

Ahh this was such a sweet story. Like low angst, cotton candy sweet and enough fluff to have you giggling and kicking your feet. I love the fact that they each love each other so much. I’m a sucker for a short and sweet love story. Jeremiah knew exactly what he wanted (Amberlee) and he was going to get her at all cost. Also Amberlee’s SIL Maddy is a firecracker and made the wind-up so much better!

Amberlee has been in love with her older brother’s best friend Jeremiah since she was 15 yours old. But after a surprise pregnancy for Jeremiah results in him having a wife and baby, Amberlee gave up on her dreams of having Jeremiah as hers. After seven years she decided to move closer to her brother and hopes that the old flames she had for Jeremiah has gone away. Unfortunately that did not happen and it came back just as bright as before.Jeremiah has also not made it easy to avoid him as he has also been I love with her all these years (after divorcing his ex). The only thing that stand in their way is Amberlee’s brother who is very overprotective of his baby sister. Can they find a way to have their HEA?

Bre rose is an amazing author. This one was more on the sweeter side of romance with a little edge to it. First off Ryan and Jeremiah are best friends. They met in boot camp. Jeremiah came home with Ryan one weekend where he met Ryan’s sister Amberlee. Amberlee had a crush on Jeremiah but because she was only 15 and he was 22 she never said anything. He was also Ryan’s best friend. One day Ryan introduced Jeremiah to Sylvia and they hooked up. Ryan was with Maddy and they ended up getting married. Amberlee saw it and she was heart broken. Sylvia saw that Amberlee saw them together. Sylvia ended up purposely getting pregnant so Jeremiah had to take care of her and get her out of her small town. Well he did that and she decided she didn’t want that life and left. Amberlee ended up leaving their town and moved where her brother was. She saw Jeremiah but she kept avoiding him. It was too painful for her because she thought she would have to see him with Sylvia. She never knew what happened but he eventually told her. I can’t wait to read more about these characters.

The Second Chance/ Brother's Best Friend romance you need! First I need to preface by saying I need a Maddy in my life. Everyone does. She is straight fire. When the book begins we meet Amberlee at 15 and Jeremiah Dawson at 21. Their first meeting has "butterflies dancing in my stomach". Sylvia then enters the picture, gets pregnant and everything changes. Amberlee went through life and graduated, went to college and became a teacher. She tried to put Jeremiah in the rearview and never speak, see or think of him again but true love is hard to forget. We fast forward to 7 years later and Amberlee is back. All this time she has thought Jeremiah has been living a happy family life with Sylvia, but has he really? Are Jeremiah and Sylvia still together? Jeremiah loved Amberlee from the moment they met but circumstance kept them apart. Can it be different this time? Will Amberlee give him a chance?

I love all things Bre Rose and I devoured this one like all the others! Amberlee is 15 years old when she falls hard for her brother's best friend from the military he brings home, but unfortunately her heart is soon crushed when he hooks up with a mean girl from their small town with devious intentions. From that day on, she vows to avoid all things Jeremiah, even the mention of his name. She goes to college and becomes a teacher but is unhappy with her job, so when her brother Danny calls with a teacher opportunity in NC and a chance for her to spend more time with his family and her nephew she can't resist. What he fails to mention is that a certain heartache from the past may be also there too. What happens when Amberlee has to come face to face with Jeremiah after all these years of trying to avoid him? This book is raw and emotional and will tug at your heart! It's a must read!!

I’m not usually one for a sweet contemporary read but with Bre’s writing she has once again made me enjoy a book that is typically outside of my usual zone.

Jeremiah and Amberlee were so sweet they could give you cavities. Understandably their love was not meant to be at the start due to their age gap and Jeremiah being best friends with Amberlee’s brother. as much as I hated Sylvia, her conniving did give us a solid basis for a bit of miscommunication and long term pining on both sides. Amberlee’s avoidance one very Jeremiah in the circumstances was completely understandable. But when Amberlee moves in with her brother and the two come face to face again it’s clear they can’t deny each other for long no matter how hard they try. Throw two insanely cute kids, an oblivious brother and meddling sister in law in to the mix and you’ve got a rom com absolutely perfect for a beach read!

Amberlee fell in love with Jeremiah, her brother’s best friend at 15. When he marries another, her heart breaks. Many years later, Amberlee received her degree in teaching. She gets a job where her brother lives and moves home. Jeremiah is there with his daughter. They are still close friends. Her brother has a wife, son, and twins on the way.

Amberlee believes he is still married. Jeremiah wants Amberlee, always has. Now, he hopes the vacation he planned with everyone will help him make it official. The only problem, the biggest problem, will be her overprotective brother. When they decide to tell her brother, things go awry. Can they convince him to approve of their relationship? Especially, before things really get out of hand when Jeremiah’s ex pops back up!

This was just swoon-worthy. Jeremiah is *drool*. This was such a wonderful second-chance romance. And who doesn’t love a brother’s best friend trope! Amberlee and Jeremiah have known each other for a long time, but when Jeremiah has something unexpected happen, his whole life is changed, which devastates Amberlee, who tries her best to move on with her life. Years later, Amberlee decides to move closer to her brother and his family, and, consequently, closer to Jeremiah. However, some circumstances have changed for Jeremiah and he’s determined not to let Amberlee slip through his fingers again! This book is definitely for those who love some sweetness, some family drama, some other woman drama, and of course, lots of romance!

A beautiful, sweet romance about an older brother’s best friend, misunderstandings and heartbreaking unrequited love. Amberlee’s character was every teenage girl growing up crushing on her brother’s best friend. Her heartbreak and love was perfectly portrayed. But it wasn’t only a misunderstanding preventing her from being with Jeremiah. It was also her overprotective (with good intentions) older brother. I loved Ryan’s protectiveness and love for his sister. I loved Jeremiah’s determination to get the woman of his dreams! I LOVED the tiny human characters in this book and especially Maddy, Amberlee’s sister-in-law. The whole cast of characters had the best dynamics between each other and made the story very enjoyable to read.

This is a brother's friend romance, as well as a military romance. There is a content warning list, not really a trigger warning considering, personally, I don't see it as dark. This book follows Amberlee and Jeremiah.

Amberlee is a teacher, while Jeremiah is in the military. Jeremiah met Amberlee's brother while in Basic Training, and then met her when she was 15. Jeremiah has a daughter from a previous marriage, which she signed her rights away from the child. Ever since Amberlee first met Jeremiah, she has had a crush, which was 7 years, that she just could not get rid of.

Amberlee was miserable at her teaching job, so her brother asked if she would like to move closer to him and he can get her a different job. She takes up that offer, knowing Jeremiah was there but nothing about the status of his marriage, and the crush gets stronger. Meanwhile, Jeremiah crushes on her as well and wants her as his.

"For all of us who love to see a hot body in a uniform!"

Sweet Second Chance 💕

It's Always Been Us is a super sweet second chance romance with brothers' best friend that will instantly get you hooked. I devoured this book so fast, and when I was done, I was begging for more. Bre Rose stepped out of her usual boundaries and comfort zone with this one and delivered such an amazing book. We meet Amberlee at 15 when she is just a sweet, innocent teenage girl. Jeremiah is 21, and her older brothers best friend. Unbeknownst to either one, it was a love at first sight, but due to circumstances at the time, they didn't act on it. Throw in some of Bre's usual twists in, and it keeps these 2 apart for 7 years. These 2 characters were drawn together no matter what, and the chemistry was off the charts. So when they do come back together and face each other again, the tension runs high. The drama unfolds, but the spice between the 2 of them is everything. Book ends with a HEA for now with the possibility of more in the future.

This is a 2nd chance at a 1st chance brother's best friend. Amberlee and Jeremiah were fire together.

She's been attracted to him ever since her brother brought him home one day, but she knows he'll never see her anything other than his best friends kid sister. But what she doesn't know is that he's been attracted to her, but she's to young like 6 years to young and plus she's his best friend sister and off limits, but what happens when thing's change in their life's and their given a 2nd chance 7 years later?

I had read the quick read this arthur had put in an anthology and knew when the full story came out these 2 were going to be so good together even more. They have that type of chemistry that can start a fire. I absolutely loved this story even more. It's about time Amberlee got her hea.

I'm so glad to finally get their full story since i read a snip it in the forbidden desires anthology! Brother's best friend is one of my favorite troupes ! Bre sure knows how to suck you in and ruin you and bring you back ! Hands down a 5 star read for me! But really nothing new when it comes to Bre , she writes it I love it!

This was a brother's best friend romance. Amberlee and Jeremiah were both secretly attracted to each other but had many barriers in their way, she was his best friend's little sister, her age, and the fact he accidentally got a girl pregnant. This story was a sweet romance with a little bit of spice, humor, and a happily ever after. I do wish we found out the gender of Amberlee's first child though. An epilogue would have been nice. I received a review copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

It's Always Been Us is an MF, Brother's Best Friend, Military standalone.

I've beem challenging myself lately and reading books that I normally read and military books goes on that list. Buuuut it's Bre Rose and I just had to read it. This is one of her more sweeter, yet still spicy books. From the very beginning, I was absolutely hooked. For such a short story, it was so emotionally intense and my heart broke at times. Years of Amberlee pining and how forbidden Jeremiah was. This was very realistic and you can literally put yourself in their shoes. It was so good.

A short and spicy forbidden brother's bff military age-gap romance! Rose does a good job of building characters quickly yet thoroughly letting me feel as if I know the characters personally. Her ability to give you so much insight but not overwhelm with detail is a skill I admire. I love the strong strong emphasis on family relationships in this book as well as the forbidden insta-love turned spicy slow-burn. Dual pov, virgin fmc, protective touch her and die big brother, age-gap older military mmc, great character dynamics with an HEA to top it off!

Sooooo gooooddd!

Bre Rose gives everything she promises with this book. We have a light-hearted read about young love that grows with the characters.

Jeremiah is my dream man! He makes mistakes when he is younger, but he makes the most of them. And Amberlee is a girl in love who tries to avoid any more heartache. But together, they are adorable.

The book has the typical ex and family drama but keeps it light and easy to read.

This was a really beautiful story about Amberlee who fell in love with her brother’s best friend when she was 15 years old.
He moved away with a daughter on the way, and a wife. 7 years later they get their second chance. It was a long way to get there, but boy was it worth it. Jeremiah is the picture perfect guy, and an amazing person. Loved their chemistry from the start.
Sweet, fun and easy read. I devoured it in one sitting 💜

ALWAYS AND FOREVER

Superb writing from Bre Rose brings us an angst ridden, compelling romance which was full of feeling and emotion. Testing the boundaries between love and loyalty, I was drawn to Amberlee's vulnerability as she battles her desire for her brother's best friend. The story expertly balances the emotion of past mistakes, the possibility of second chances and the risk of breaking hearts all over again. The well developed and relatable characters and emotionally charged scenes make this the perfect read for those who believe in the power of love, and always knowing one's true love.

This was such a good book and I absolutely loved it. It was so different to have something just so nice and sweet. I was honestly waiting for something dark and sinister to pop up from behind, but it was a very welcome change of pace.

In this book we meet Amberlee and Jeremiah. Jeremiah is the best friend of Amberlee’s older brother. He’s also a really hot single dad and military man. Where can I meet a good man like that? He’s got a job, y’all. And he’s an amazing father and friend. A friend who has been harboring feelings for Amberlee for almost a decade.

This was a really great read.

This was such a feel good, sappy, forbidden romance. Brother’s best friend, slight age gap, met too soon.
And because he couldn’t be with her he made a not so smart choice. Now years later they have a second chance. Seeing their back and forth and how he fought for her was beautiful. I loved their interactions and watching her come to terms with the fact that he did want her. I know I will be re-reading this story. The spice was awesome and the love story even better!
