There are several reasons I shouldn’t be nannying for the grumpy single dad.
Jason Sterling’s dazzling looks could turn heads, but his grumpy attitude just as easily freezes you in your tracks. Our first encounter? A disaster. He blamed me and my TV show for wrecking his family, and my interview turned into a shouting match. Needless to say, I didn't get the job on his TV network and vowed we’d never cross paths again.
When I take a temporary position through my mom’s nanny agency, guess who's my new boss? None other than Jason Sterling himself. I decide to quit, but I made a promise to his mother when she hired me. So when Jason shows up with a proposal—to work together for the sake of his kids—I reluctantly agree. Then I move into his house—living under the same roof doesn't make things easier. We clash on nearly everything, yet despite my best efforts, the undeniable chemistry between us becomes impossible to ignore.
As our daily lives intertwine, I start to see a different side of Jason—a playful, loving, and protective father whose genuine affection for his children pulls at my heartstrings. Before I know it, Jason and I are inseparable, I fight his battles and he fights mine. We are not that much different after all. I'm falling helplessly in love with him, his children, and the charming small town that’s embraced me. But my time with him is running out, and leaving suddenly feels all wrong. Falling for my enemy might be reckless, but loving him? It feels like coming home— where I belong.
This is book 1 in The Single Dads of Meadowbrook Series. Each one of these Christian Romances can be read as a complete Standalone. Tropes in Where I Single Dad, Enemies to lovers, Small-town, Forced Proximity, boss nanny, and Grumpy Sunshine.
My 1st book by @rosefresquezauthor and I highly recommend this one! It was such a cute story! 🥰🥹
Where I belong has so much swoon with forced proximity and grumpy sunshine vibes. I had the best time reading and I will definitely read more by Rose.
I loved seeing how Valentina was engaging with the kiddos especially when they have such a hard time trusting. I love that she paid so much attention to details on what the family’s needs were. Having that tension between Jason and Valentina was great, he is closed off and she is amazing so ofc there are sparks! ✨💗💛
Where I Belong is the first book I have read written by Rose Fresquez and I look forward to reading some more. The cover was a little deceiving, I almost didn’t read it because I felt like the book was going to be a little too much for me, but it was fine.
The character development was pretty good. I loved the enemies to lover’s trope. I loved watching Jason overcome his preconceived ideas and Valentina work through some of her past struggles.
The storyline and setting were fun. I loved the nanny storyline.
The unfolding enemy to lovers- romance between Jason and Valentina was perfect. Nothing over the top. Everything was super clean, which I am here for.
The Christian element was really good. Rose Fresquez did a great job intertwining faith throughout the book.
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it. All opinions are my own.
This was such a beautiful romance story between two imperfect people finding Jesus in the midst of their struggles. I love a not so meet cute situation and this book delivered on that front for sure! The faith was woven through beautifully with some serious character growth, especially with Jason. His kids were so lovable and I adored how their relationship with Valentina unfolded! This was my first book by Rose Fresquez but it certainly won't be my last!

*I received a complimentary copy of the book but all opinions are my own.
From the first moment it started, I was hooked. It really helped that it started off with Jason’s POV, and his children were an instant plus. I felt for Jason’s character. One can understand why he was so guarded. And Valentina was right there also having been dealt a rough blow. Jason and Valentina’s story really got me. I loved their romance. I like the faith element. It felt genuine and right in the pages of the book. It felt like an everyday occurrence type of situation. If you like enemies to lovers with a nanny plot, I recommend this book. This is also a clean book with only kissing.
Disclaimer: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
"Where I Belong" was a great nanny/enemies-to-more read.
The beginning of the book was filled with misunderstandings and turmoil that made the main characters really dislike each other. Imagine Jason's surprise when Valentina ended up being the nanny that his mother hired especially in a city as big as New York!
It was so much fun getting to know Jason's children as well as Valentina's large extended family. Each character was well written and lovable in their own way.
I really enjoyed the community that the author created in Meadowbrook and look forward to returning there again for more books in the series.
This was a sweet, clean Christian romance with a few steamy kisses in just the right moderation.
I am very excited and thankful to review this book today!

The Nanny/Boss trope is one of my favorites, and Ms. Fresquez does it so well. I couldn’t help but love Valentina’s independent and caring personality, and I appreciated her strong faith and sense of family. Jason (although initially quite a grump with Valentina) proved to be an amazing father who cared deeply for his children's welfare. Rose writes characters that are real, relatable, and flawed. Valentina and Jason’s journey to their HEA is not smooth sailing, but the author kept me captivated throughout.
I loved reading this book so much that when I was given the opportunity to listen to the audiobook as a re-read, I took it. I loved it just as much the second time. The narrator, Julie Matthews, was fantastic. She really brought the characters to life with her distinct voices and palpable emotions. Brilliantly done. Highly recommended.
This was a wonderful Enemies to Lovers Romance! I’m starting to read Rose Fresquez’s stories and I’m loving them! This one was really good! Valentina Diaz is a beautiful woman with latinamerican origins (like I have), many talents, who is searching for a job at a TV network. When the leader of the company, Jason Sterling, straight-out rejects her without letting her prove herself, because he -misguidedly- thinks Valentina is guilty of ruining his marriage because of the counseling TV show she previously hosted where she helped women through a self-discovery and empowerment journey. Feeling humiliated, Val thinks maybe this is the moment to work for her mom’s Nanny Agency and responds to an offer from a grandmother of 3 children whose single dad is very busy with work. After starting the first day, she discovers that the children’s father is none other than Jason Sterling, the man who turned her down. I don’t want to give away spoilers about the book. Obviously, you have to know that Val end’s up as the kid’s nanny, but you’ll have to read it yourself to know how that goes. It was a beautiful story! I loved the Enemies to Lovers, Grump/Sunshine, and Forced Proximity tropes, they blended pretty well. The plot had a good pace and it kept me want to keep on going to see how Jason and Val would arrive at their Happily Ever After, after some ups and downs. The best part of the story is the character development. I loved how Jason grows and changes throughout the story, how he learns to trust after having lots of issues with this because of his ex-wife leaving them. His humility in asking for forgiveness after his mistakes was endearing. His love and protectiveness of his children was touching, and the way he slowly but surely falls for Val was so sweet. And Val is a strongminded yet kind and compassionate woman. The way she connects with the kids, especially teenage Eden… No wonder Jason falls for her! She’s somehow everything Jason’s ex-wife was not. She has a way of doing what’s important: caring for each member of the family, bringing out their talents, cheering them and understanding their plights, even playing with the kids because it's what they love to do. She’s also gentle in correcting the kids, and very patient (the twins may be a handful). She finally finds a place where she belongs in every sense. A newfound unexpected family! The romance was clean and sweet, just like I like it. And there’s a faith inspired message throughout the story about trusting God in guiding you and showing you the right path. Loved Val’s mami -a single mom- strong faith and how she transmitted it to her children. The secondary characters, like Val’s family of Jason’s mom contributed to make it a great family story too. All in all, a beautiful love story that will leave you feeling inspired!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars Rose Fresquez has done it again! Where I Belong was an absolute delight from beginning to end and another easy 5-star read for me. I am a sucker for a good grumpy sunshine romance, and Jason and his nanny Val delivered everything I could have hoped for. Their first meeting was an absolute train wreck, filled with tension, misunderstandings, and sparks flying in all the wrong ways. Watching their relationship evolve from enemies to something much deeper was both heartwarming and impossible to put down. Jason completely stole my heart. Beneath his gruff exterior was a loving, devoted father doing his best for his children, and seeing that softer side of him emerge throughout the story was one of my favorite parts. The connection between him, his children, and Val felt genuine and beautifully developed. I found myself falling in love with this little family right alongside her. One of my favorite aspects of the story was Val herself. As a Hispanic reader, I loved seeing her culture represented on the page. The inclusion of her Hispanic heritage, family traditions, and especially the food made her character feel even more real and relatable to me. It was wonderful to see those details woven naturally into the story, and I found myself connecting with her on a deeper level because of it. The forced proximity and live-in nanny situation created the perfect amount of tension, chemistry, and sweet moments. Add in the charming small-town setting, wonderful family dynamics, and strong faith elements, and I was completely invested from start to finish. What I loved most was how this story wasn't just about romance—it was about finding where you truly belong. The emotional journey felt authentic, and by the end, I was smiling, swooning, and wishing I could spend more time with these characters. If you enjoy Christian romance, single dad stories, enemies-to-lovers relationships, grumpy sunshine dynamics, diverse representation, and all the cozy small-town feels, I highly recommend Where I Belong. Rose Fresquez continues to prove why she's becoming one of my favorite authors, and I can't wait to continue with the rest of The Single Dads of Meadowbrook series! 💕📚
He Couldn’t Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth … even if it bites
One could say that Jason’s and Val’s first meeting got off on the wrong foot. They waste no time judging each other. They convinced themselves their reasons were valid. Problem is, their judgments came from personal reasons and not based on professional. It’s easy to see why IF looking through each other’s personal lens. Both had suffered unjustly in past relationships and saw the same flawed traits responsible for that suffering standing right in front of them.
Jason rejects Val (Valentina) for a job without even giving her a chance during the interview. No way he was going to be face to face every day at work with that ‘home wrecker personality’ he claimed Val had. As for Val, it didn’t take long for her to see a controlling nature underneath Jason’s personality. She even calls him Mr Grump to his face. Hmmm, so much for that job opening that Val badly needed.
To make ends meet while searching for another opportunity, Val decides to take a nanny position. Her education and past experience in broadcasting and psychology was perfect to help out a grandmother caring for her three grandchildren. After all, it only would be for three months while ‘nana’ was away. Little did Val know those three darling children belonged to that Mr Grump,Jason.
Now the tables are turned and this time Val fires herself … the children were sweet and Val developed an instant camaraderie with them…. but no way was she going to answer to Mr Grump. Problem is, Nana only wanted Val to take care of her grandchildren and no one else. She thoroughly had researched Val’s credentials and knew she was just what her grandchildren needed.
Soooo, after Mr Grump and Val murmur out an apology, they decide to try to make it work, after all the children were the top priority.
Enjoy your trip through these pages. They not only entertain but show how we shouldn’t be too quick to judge… after all, who knows if you might be repeating a different kind o vow later on…. one that contains the words, I DO.
I received an advance copy of this book and freely leave my review. Loved this book and the lessons it teaches.
My favorite troupe in my favorite setting with adorable children and two lead characters you can’t help but be charmed by? To say I was smitten from the beginning is an understatement. I felt endeared from the start with the great bond of family evident in both Jason and Valentina’s lives. It’s clear that Jason’s family has been bruised and beaten yet you can feel the love and can sense the happiness that is simmering just below the surface. Sometimes it just takes that special person to bring it to the light.
I adored all the moments, from the snarkiness between Jason and Valentina to the times of family togetherness, whether it be watching movies or exploring their quaint little town together. For me, the togetherness is what really won me over with this story. Not only the closeness with one another but also with the community and even in their faith. It was very inspiring.
This is more than just your typical love story. It wasn’t just about falling in love in a romantic sense, but about falling in love with family. Valentina’s relationship with Eden, Atticus and Felix was honestly my favorite love story of the entire novel. Moments of pure electricity spark from the pages as Jason and Valentina share scenes that are charged and full of promise, the burn slow yet satisfying.
I really appreciated the mentioning of the gratitude journal as it was a powerful reminder for me to start mine back up as well. It really is amazing how much healthier your mindset is when you purposefully focus on the good. I also was thinking about my own family’s dynamic while I was reading about all the adventures and activities the family did together. My family is in a time of transition and after reading this I know that it doesn’t matter what we do as long as we do it together.
This was a fast favorite, and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!
*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher through JustRead Tours. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own.
This story is everything that I was looking for in an enemies to lovers romance, Jason and Valentina from the very beginning, do not get along from their running in to each other at the elevator, to him completely refusing to give her a job, to her getting hired as his new nanny without his approval! But ultimately he caves... needs a nanny for his children. So he goes ahead and allows her to continue to work with his kids, but it takes a long time before he lets his walls come down. But when he does, he starts to notice so many good things about Valentina, so much so, he starts to have a hard time keeping things professional. Valentina has everything that this family has been needing. He's been missing companionship, and the kids have been missing a mom/woman in the home and she fits in perfectly. But once their 3 months are up and she's off to pursue a real career, where does that leave them?!
I loved this story. The enemies part was so entertaining. But then with them being in such close proximity to eachother you knew it was just a matter of time before they truly started to see the other. It was more than looks though, Jason is won over by Valentinas character and interaction with his kids. She's won over by his affection with his family and the genuine things he does to bring his kids joy. They spend so much time trying to push back feelings, but it gets harder and harder to ignore! The faith element in this one is strong, but it fits into the story so seamlessly you walk away with a romance and godly guidance through this book and I loved that about it.
I need to read another book by Rose ASAP!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. The review I have written is fully my opinion.
Where I Belong is the first book in The Single Dads of Meadowbrook Series by Rose Fresquez. Each subsequent book in the series can be read as a standalone. I plan to read them all because I am hooked on this series!
Our main characters in this Christian romance are Valentina and Jason. Valentina is confident, smart, family and faith oriented. Jason is a single dad, workaholic, and seeker of faith. Valentina and Jason have a disastrous first meeting when she applies for a job at his office. The meeting has them both unsettled. Then they meet again, this time as Valentina is hired by Jason’s mom to be his kid’s nanny!
The more time Valentina spends with Jason and his kids, the more she understands his issues with trust. Jason constantly questions his skills to be the dad that his kids need. Valentina has love and support from her family, but questions where she is supposed to be at this time in her life.
After a rocky start, Jason and Valentina start to have feelings for each other. I enjoyed learning about them, and the choices they have made in their lives. Valentina’s family brought lots of humor to the story, as well as Jason’s children. Elements of gratitude and faith are woven into the story.
Where I Belong was a joy to read. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are my honest opinions.
Yay! I have a new author to read and follow. Author Fresquez really got me with this story of a love between a broken man and woman. I don't normally like to read about divorces, this one was an exception for me. See I believe that marriage is till death do you part, but what happens when your spouse does not feel the same? This story delves into the blessings of marriage and breaking the cycle of broken families.
Jason Sterling is a man on a mission. That mission is giving his three kids the best life he can after their mother walked out on him and them. He may have placed the blame for his marriage on a TV show, without really looking into the root cause of the issue. In steps Valentina, said star of that show, now looking to hire at his company. Jason is not having any of that and sends her packing.
Valentina had never met a man she disliked so much. And she has had plenty hurt her, including her own father. Now to keep herself afloat, she needs to hire out as a Nanny. Lo and behold, Jason is the children's father.
This was a fun story with lots of fireworks and swoon between two people who do not have the best two first meetings. However, love does funny things and as they get to know one another, their mutual dislike changes to love and the fun is watching it all happen. I look forward to more of this author's works.
I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.
3.5/5⭐️ Right from the start Jason is prejudiced against Valentina and that impacts her interview to join his TV network, Family Sphere Network. As she is still jobless, Valentina decides to help out at her mom’s nanny agency and ends up as nanny to Jason’s three kids for the next three months.
Though Jason remains sceptical, he is soon forced to admit that Valentina is a capable nanny, who gels well with his three kids – Eden, Atticus and Felix. But when an unforeseen event occurs, his prejudice comes back to haunt him. Can he overcome his pride to convince Valentina to forgive him?
Honestly, Jason comes across as a judgmental and an immature person. He messes up multiple times and there is no proper repentance or apology in my opinion. The saving grace comes in how he behaves with his kids. He is an amazing father who tries his best to love and care for them.
Despite their initial fears to jump into a relationship, Valentina and Jason soon decide to follow their hearts and they start to date. I loved their habit of thanking God daily and practicing gratitude. I try to do that as often as I can too, and I hope to start this with my kids when they are older too.
I also enjoyed those scenes where Valentina has lots of fun with the kids. It was simple and yet the kids experience true joy and beautiful memories are created. May we all be like little children and learn to find joy in the simple things in life.
In this compelling friends-to-lovers narrative, the dynamic between Jason and Valentina leaps off the page with raw emotional intensity. Their passionate exchanges and evolving relationship create a magnetic storyline that demands the reader's full attention.
Valentina's vibrant personality shines through her multilingual outbursts and spirited support at sporting events, revealing a multifaceted character who approaches life with determination and warmth. Her ability to navigate challenges with grace and tenacity makes her truly unforgettable.
Jason finds himself completely disarmed by Valentina's genuine nature and familial charisma, creating a delightful tension that propels the story forward. The nuanced portrayal of single fatherhood adds depth and authenticity to the narrative, offering a refreshing perspective rarely explored in contemporary fiction.
The children's roles are particularly enchanting, their innocence and spontaneity captured with remarkable sensitivity. Their presence enriches the story, providing moments of genuine humor and heartwarming connection.
This novel is an absolute page-turner, promising an immersive experience that leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.
You get the perfect mix of a grumpy single dad and the sweetest, most genuine heroine, and it works so well. Jason starts off cold and guarded, but watching him as a father completely melted my heart. And Valentina is such a sweetheart. The way she steps into those kids’ lives feels so natural, like it was exactly where she was meant to be. It truly felt like a little bit of God’s divine intervention brought her there, and I loved that layer to the story.
The kids completely stole the show for me. They were precious, full of personality, and you could feel how deeply they were loved. Both Jason and Valentina would do anything for them, and that fierce love added so much depth and emotion.
I also loved how real everything felt. The tension, the growth, and the way they slowly started to understand each other pulled me in. It wasn’t just cute, it had those raw emotional moments that made you feel invested in all of them.
I have to mention the audiobook because it made the experience even better. It was so entertaining and really brought the characters to life.
This one gave me all the cozy, small town, found family vibes with a beautiful enemies to lovers romance woven in. It was sweet, emotional, and left me with the biggest smile.
The book starts off with main characters Jason Sterling and Valentina Diaz very much opposed to each other, despite an initial moment of attraction. Jason would rather avoid Valentina, but as luck would have it, she is the nanny his mother hired for his children. Worse luck, his children adore Valentina and she's good at what she does, so Jason has to reconsider his rejection of her. Their relationship is very much an enemies-to-lovers/slow-burn story. They grew to really compliment each other though, and it was easy to see why they belonged together. There were parts that came off as a little cheesy to me, and I didn't really deeply connect to either character, but I still appreciated the read, and enjoyed the kids' interactions with Val, as well as the faith message that was stronger towards the end. "Where I Belong" is a clean read, reaching only kissing level which were not too detailed or descriptive. If you enjoy the nanny/boss trope, I think you'll love this story.
I was given a copy of the book from the author but was not required to write a review. All thoughts expressed are entirely my own.
Jason is ready to blame everything and everybody for problems in his life except for himself, which causes the rift in his family. He now has two wild boys that need constant supervision and an early blooming almost teenager in the eleven to twelve age bracket that has started the changes of life that every woman has gone through, Eden though has no one to help and guide her since his mother has decided to step back to make him look at himself as a father. Valentina of Guatemalan decent from her mother's side is beautiful but due to her jerk supposed boyfriend, that stabbed her in the back claiming her ideas as his, then sabotaging her efforts to succeed in business, has had to resort to going back to work for her mother's company, of highly trained nannies. Her next job as nanny is working for Jason, and the antagonist sparks that flew at her interview turns to war when she finds who her boss is. A totally delightful fun story that is almost akin to the movie "The Parent Trap" is one of the most enjoyable books I've read. A definite five star.
This is a really good book!! Jason meets Valentina when she comes to his network for an interview to host a new TV show. Jason ends up telling her he won't hire her, so when she turns out to be the nanny his mom hired for his children, he's not happy. When he has to go to her and apologize, and ask her to please come back, he does, though he's not happy. The more time they spend together, he comes to care for her, and realizes he loves her. When he becomes a Jesus follower, he realizes how much God has changed him when he wants Valentina's happiness above his own. He thinks he knows what that is, so he does something without telling her. Valentina's goals change when she falls in love with Ethan and his children. Seeing how things work out between them, the children, and even with Jason's ex, is a great story. The only thing I didn't like was the use of one word in Chapter 27. I think a better choice could have been used.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
When Valentina takes a temporary nanny position, she never expects the father to be the man who accused her of ruining his life. Things start out rocky but they both just want to do what’s best for the children.
Where I Belong is the first book in the Single Dads of Meadowbrook series. It can be read as a stand-alone. This Christian romance is full of sweet moments along with plenty of sassy banter. There are some kissing scenes but nothing spicy or overly graphic.
This one is a bit of a slowburn. The MCs very much disliked each other early on but there really wasn't a lot of angst. I enjoyed seeing the progression of Valentina’s relationship with Jason’s children as much as her romance with him. I think both are crucial to the story.
This is the first book that I have read from author Rose Fresquez but I look forward to seeing where she takes the rest of this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Jason was a single dad to a daughter and twin sons. His mother had been taking care of the kids while he worked. Her and her husband were going on a three-month vacation, so she hired a nanny (Val) for them.
Jason and Valentina (Val) had already had a run-in at his office when she applied for a job. He blamed her for his wife leaving because of what she said on her TV show. He told her they couldn't offer her a position.
When he got home and saw who the nanny was, things didn't go well. She left. Would he have second thoughts after his mom talked to him? Would he ask her to come back?
As always, Rose's books are based on Christian values. If this is the type of reading you like, you will definitely want to read this book.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
Words cannot express how much I loved this novel. The character development was excellent and it was obvious to the reader that a lot of thought had gone into the characters. I enjoyed the plot and the climax of the story as well. I have reached the point in my adult life that I would prefer to read books that are happy and I don't want to read something that is going to run down my emotions. Novels are an escape. This book definitely provided this. I also enjoyed the aspect of Christianity that was included and it spiritually uplifted me. The author also sent a bonus epilogue for those who receive her newsletter. It really helped pull the story aspects together more and was enjoyable! I will happily read the rest of the Meadowbrook Series as was hinted at in the back of the book. I also am planning on using the gratitude journal that is included at the end as well!
3.5 stars. This was a sweet story. I liked how they met, and then re-met! It was a fun start, and the transition from enemies to lovers was great. I did think Jason should have addressed his quick temper more, but I was glad Val helped him with his overparenting. They did really well building their relationship slowly, and I liked that the faith elements were so seamlessly woven into the story. I also liked that the side characters were developed pretty well (Val's family and Jason's friends). There were a few typos, and a few awkwardly worded sentences (in dialogue) that I had to reread to make sense out of, but mostly the writing was good. I would try another book by this author.
Content: references to adultery/cheating (not graphic).
I received this book free from the publisher/author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Jason has to learn not to judge a person by someone else’s actions, and Valentina learns first impressions are definitely not always right. You must see beyond the outside to the heart before you can know someone. The twins and Eden make the story complete; I could feel the twins’ energy and ached with Eden as she struggles to come to terms with her dysfunctional mom. There is a HEA with a hint of the next story in the final epilogue.
There is a strong scriptural presence in parts of the story and Jason’s salvation makes the story endearing. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.
I love the enemies to lovers trope, but I don't think I have read any books where the heroine is a nanny, so that was something new for me! I thought that the author did a wonderful job of moving Jason and Valentina past their preconceived notions and past experiences to learn to love. The character development is wonderful. I also love the message of faith that is woven into the story, since they author did a wonderful job of making it natural. This is the first book I have read by Rose Fresquez, and I look forward to reading more by her! My only complaint is that the cover makes the book look like it isn't a clean romance, when it very much is. I received this book from Just Read. This is my honest review.
This book was a lot of fun to read. I liked how Valentina came into the lives of the Stirling family. She reminded me of a modern day Mary Poppins, always trying to find the good in everyone and teaching them to be grateful everyday for what they have. I enjoyed watching her change Mr. Grumps into a better man and father to his family. It was a remarkable journey with many ups and downs along the way. I liked that their faith and church were a big part of this book. I also liked the 30 days of gratitude bonus at the end too. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Amazing book! I love the strong characters Valentina and Jason are! It’s just so sweet how their love story unfolds with the family as an inseparable unit! I enjoyed every second of this book.
I usually don’t like the faith based stories but this one was done well and it didn’t feel like it was overwhelming amounts of religious talk. Just enough to support that that is a major part of their life. I really loved that.
I also thought the cover of the book made it seem like the book would be more spicy but it was definitely a clean sweet romcom. Which was right where I like my books to be.
I am looking forward to the next book! You can’t help but fall in love with everyone in the book!
This just might be my favorite book yet from this author, and I’ve read almost all of them. Thoroughly enjoyed this front row seat as Jason and Valentína meet and due to preconceived notions do not hit it off. Yet God works in mysterious ways to get us where we belong. I loved the themes of a single day finding his way and putting his family first even as his job as CEO is demanding. I loved the themes of doubting if he was a good enough father because it showed his heart. I loved the themes of healing and forgiveness, of releasing the hold the past has on us to embrace our future. So good all around.
This was a sweet, Christian contemporary romance. It’s the beginning of a new series of single dads (of which we see quite a bit in this book). Our grumpy hero has a bit of a kerfuffle at the “meet cute.” The three children are a wonderful part of this series bringing parenting to the front of this book. Our hero CEO has our heroine as a nanny in this slow burn romance. This romance is lengthy and thorough. There was divorce, bullying, and more. It was a very nice read. 4.5.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
