Captain Walker was in control of his inner grizzly before he joined the Fastlander Crew. Now, having his brother as his Alpha has his animal riled up and fighting everything. When he sees a woman from his past, he knows she has the ability to understand his history, and that chance meeting dredges up the urge to lean on the fragile human. Sloane has changed in the years she’s been gone from Damon’s Mountains, but those changes intrigue him. She isn’t the woman he thought she was all those years ago…she’s more. On the verge of a war with the Holland Pride, the timing isn’t great for bringing a human potential mate into the picture. She’s kicking up instincts inside of him that could get them both annihilated. The good man in him knows she needs to remain untethered to the Fastlanders and all the trouble the Crew will bring, but the monster in him doesn’t care.
Sloane Middleson has just had her life turned upside down, and now she’s back near her hometown trying to figure out her next step. Captain Walker was the boy she had a crush on all those years ago, but he wasn’t a good match. Now? Captain is different. Bigger. Grittier. More dominant…and in many ways, more frustrating. She can’t stop seeking him out though, and she doesn’t know what is wrong with her. She is drawn to him in ways that make no sense to a logical, responsible woman like her. Bringing him into her life is complicated, to say the least, but sometimes life doesn’t have the best timing. She thought her story was ending, but Captain is showing her that the adventure has just begun.
Don’t miss this exciting installment in T.S. Joyce’s new monster-hit Fastlander series—where everyone is C-Team, and the mountains are coming back to life.
****Content Explicit spicy love scenes, naughty language, and piles of sexy shifter secrets. Shifter animal battles and wars for territory lines show up in most of these books, which includes action adventure and some violence. Intended for mature audiences.
T.S. Joyce is devoted to bringing hot shifter romances to readers. Hungry alpha males are her calling card, and the wilder the men, the more she'll make them pour their hearts out. She werebear swears there'll be no swooning heroines in her books. It takes tough-as-nails women to handle the shifters of Bear Valley.
She lives in a tiny town, outside of a tiny city, and devotes her life to writing big stories. Foodie, bear whisperer, ninja, thief of tiny bottles of awesome smelling hotel shampoo, nap connoisseur, movie fanatic, and zombie slayer, and most of this bio is true.
Bear Shifters? Check Smoldering Alpha Hotness? Double Check Sexy Scenes? Fasten up your girdles, ladies and gents, it's gonna to be a wild ride.
This one was so much fun to read because of the connection between Captain and Sloane. I loved learning that they knew each other as teens, even went on a date and while it might have not ended good, it seems like neither really forgot the other.
Captain was so great in helping build Sloane back up and put her ex in his place. He was even better with Ruger and letting the boy know how special he was by his actions alone.
I'm not gonna lie, I was ready to kill Gunner for what he did, for what he almost ruined. I'm so glad that Silver and the other women did something about it.
So glad to see this couple happy at the end and ready to face whatever the future brings them.
Fastlander Fighter is the next book in the Fastlander series and packs a serious punch❣️Captain reacquaints himself with Sloane, someone he had a date with in high school when things went downhill quick at their homecoming. Now years later, she’s returned home, he discovers she’s divorced and has a young son, Ruger, who is in awe of all things to do with shifters.
This one took a turn I did not see but it was a phenomenal read…especially the ending😍 Can’t wait for Wreck’s book next🙌
This was so cute! I love Captain, so I was excited to read his book, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Sloane was great and I thought the two of them were perfect for each other. Ruger is a little cutie as well. Looking forward to Wreck’s story next.
Fastlander Fighter is the fourth title in the Fastlanders series, a strong connection to the entire Damon’s Mountains universe, bringing us Captain and Sloane’s tumultuous romance.
Captain has always seemed almost unreachable. He fights constantly with any crew member, physically with the guys, verbally with the ladies. He’s part of his brother’s crew, not by choice but by force, and it’s the last place he wants to be. A chance encounter with Sloane, a woman he once had a date with back in high school, before it all went terribly wrong, will change Captain in so many ways… finding your mate usually does.
Sloane is so strong, even though her ex-husband has done and continues to do everything he possibly can to make her feel weak and unworthy. I cheered mentally when Captain finally had enough of the crap and pretty much ripped the ex apart verbally and put him in his place, along with his skanky new wife. It was the perfect protection move. I adored Sloane’s young son, Ruger, and his excitement over collecting shifter trading cards… and his loyalty to chicken nuggets. *chuckles* Together, all three make a perfect new family unit.
And then Gunner, Alpha to the crew and Captain’s brother, did the unthinkable. I’ve “seen” Alphas do stupid things, but I admit, this was the first time I wanted to reach into the pages of this book and strangle Gunner. In part of my mind, I understood that Gunner thought it was the right move at that time… it was the worst thing he could have possibly done. And, sadly, it changed how I viewed Gunner from that point onward, even in the next book. My heart broke for Sloane and little Ruger, but especially for Captain. Frankly, I could not have forgiven Gunner.
War is coming to Damon’s Mountains, the crews are assembling, visions are becoming increasingly more vivid, more imminent… and nothing is going to be the same.
Fastlander Fighter had the perfect build-up to take us into the fifth and final story in the Fastlander series, Wreck’s story. After so many fantastic stories within the Damon’s Mountains universe, Captain, Sloane, and Ruger were definitely in my top ten. If you love a well-written, intense, passionate shifter romance with characters you cannot help but get involved with and root for their happiness, then Fastlander Fighter by T. S. Joyce is perfect for you.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
This is the fourth book in this series. They can be read as standalone books but I think they are better read in order. Captain is being forced to a part of his brothers crew. Captain just wants to be left alone. But no they want to bring him into the fold. Sloane's whole life has been turned upside down. She found out her husband has been cheating on her, they got divorced, and now she had to move to this small town if she wanted to continue to see her son all the time because of said ex and his new wife. She knew Captain from high school. They were friends until they weren't and then she didn't exist to Captain. Now that she is back and sees him again. Those feelings come back. Captain doesn't recognize her at first but it doesn't take much to attract his bear for Sloane. Then the real fun begins. Her ex of course doesn't like that she has found someone new. Especially because that someone pays attention to their son. Then there is the war that they know is coming. Captain is supposed to play an important role and Gunner doesn't want him distracted. Gunner does the unthinkable but it turns out worse than anyone could have expected. Will they be able to fix things before the crew is taken out from within? This book was an amazing read. I couldn't put it down once I started. Fantastic job once again T.S. Joyce. I can't wait for the next read.
Such a great book! It was really great to see the real Captain, and not just the bratty younger brother that he turns into around his brother/alpha, Gunner. Or the man ho he is around girls. Or the poop stirrer he tends to be around Owen and Ace sometimes. We got to meet the good son he is and has always been to his parents, the hard worker he is, the patient mentor he is to his apprentice and to Ruger and the other little kids on the T-ball team. The patient and protective father figure. It is so nice to see the most...immature member of the Fastlanders grow up into such a good man. Also, Sloan is awesome! She's the perfect match for Captain, and a perfect addition to the crew. Ruger is too cute! I adore pretty much every book T.S. Joyce has written, but the Damon's Mountains crews are my favorites. I read the whole series again to get ready for the new homecoming series, and I loved them even more the second time around. Absolutely 5 stars! Every. Single. Time. Can't wait to read Wreck's story. What kind of woman does it take to tame a phoenix?!
Very enjoyable read. I liked the fact these two had history and that they opened up and discussed their past honestly. And that Captain explained what and why he had behaved badly before apologising and meaning it. Captain coaching Ruger and the way he interacted with this six year old though so many diverse situations was wonderful and lovely. And the way he put the nasty ex and company into their place, brilliant. Understood Captain’s reasoning with all that was going on and the fact both Sloane and Ruger were human, therefore making them easy targets. What Gunner did though, oh boy, that was super mean and nearly destroyed Captain. Loved the women teasing Captain b ut also supporting Sloane. Great that nearly ALL the Fastlanders’ went at Gunner about his actions. Loved going to Damon and Clara’s place and what happens. Loved Captain putting the ex-husband and his new wife in their place. But the best was Gunner and Captain not being enemies and even maybe being able to move back towards being brothers. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
I've loved every book in this series and this was no exception. Sloane is recently divorced with a six year old boy and an ex who's a royal jerk. She's been forced to move back to her hometown and is trying to find herself again. A stop at the barbecue place brings her back in touch with Captain. They went to school together and he was her first date until he lost control and changed into his bear. She was startled and he was embarrassed and he never spoke to her again. Years later they're renewing their friendship that turns into so much more. Until Lucia's prophesy causes Gunner to issue an alpha order that will make Captain forget Sloane and her son. It almost destroys Captain until a solution is found. As always TS Joyce takes you on an emotional journey and you get so caught up in the story you can't stop reading. I love this return to Damon's Mountains and bringing back some of our favorite characters. Can't wait for the next book.
It’s Captain’s turn for a chance at romance. But he’s not sure he can commit to her, not when she’s human and they have a war on their horizon. The best way to keep her safe is to keep away, only he can’t convince his bear of that. This is a very hot and cold romance while Captain wars within himself. There’s a lot of running away and switching back and running again that goes down, and conflict from outside the couple to boot. Sloane… she just needed someone by her side and supporting her for once, and helping to fight her battles. Captain boosting her and showing an interest in Ruger really lent a sweetness to the story that allowed you to forgive Captain his indecisiveness. The third act breakup in this is devastating. I think it’s the most brutal of any in this world without someone dying. There is a redemption piece about it, but dang it’s hard to forgive the culpable party (I’m trying to not be super spoiler-y).
T. S. Joyce doesn’t miss!! Captain, Sloane, lil Ruger and My fav crew are back and had a girl emo👏🏾tio👏🏾nal!!
I wanted to stay mad at Gunner but he saw the error of his ways and owned it. He stay messing up but he is trying. I appreciate the lil moment between him and Cap.
Sloane and Captain 🫶🏿 period! That girl said I didn't fight for my marriage because there was nothing left to fight for but that man right there, I'm gonna fight for him. And I loved it!!
Wreck's beast was finally revealed and didn't see that coming! Nice!! He misunderstood, feared and alienated. Wants to feel included, but he's as cuddly as trying to hug a porcupine.
Ruger the next ALPHA PHOENIX HECK YEAH!! That's why T.S.J. is undefeated. That vision board is already set for three series from now.
Always love it when Damon makes an appearance ( this time Clara came too!)
"Theres a Dragon on your house" ...
If Them mountains don't do nothing else, they gone get-together for a party!
Since then, Sloane Middleson’s moved away, returned, married and divorced plus become a mother to six-year-old Ruger. Sharing custody with her vicious ex and his sniping new wife make things harder than necessary and take every chance to wallop her self-esteem. Treating herself to lunch, Sloane saw Captain Walker working the grill and tried to avoid catching his eye. They’d had one high school date and he never called again.
When his clan mates notice Sloane avoiding being seen by Captain, they blast him for treating her badly. Unaware what the mates think he’s done, Captain approaches Sloane and the relationship neither was ready for as teens begin to develop. Their budding romance angers Sloane’s ex and the fact she’s human causes issues in Captain’s clan especially with war on the horizon and a vision forces Cap to suddenly break their romance off. Rating: 4stars
Fastlander Fighter (Fastlander’s book 4) by T.S Joyce is a 5 ⭐️ read. Single mother Sloane has moved back to her hometown because her ex-husband decided that he wanted to live there with his affair partner turned new wife, the man is not making things easy for Sloane and her son but running into her old high school crush might just be the turn around she didn’t know she needed. Captain used to be in control of his bear but now all he wants to do is fight until a human woman from his past shows up at Mooney’s and starts to settle him until his Alpha makes an order he can’t refuse. I always knew Captain Walker’s story would be a good one right from the first book in this series and I was far from disappointed.
Captain and Gunners story aren't by fast for me. I wanted this story to be longer and more complete. Lately, these stories are not as fulfilling as earlier series by this author. I keep coming back to the next book in her series, hoping we will get back to the great stories she would write for in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, these are a nice read, but if you have read everything this author has written, like I have, then you would understand how you could crave stories to be similar to the Boarlanders, etc. It has been the last year where things have changed. Still hoping for longer and more complete stories. Captain, Sloane, Ruger and the crew are great characters... they just need more time and a more complete story. This whole series does.
Captain,Sloane and Ruger! Awesome story about our Fasterlander’s Crew. Captain is so in love with Sloane, an old high school flame who is human. This book is T S Joyce at her best. The right amount of sugar and spice. The right amount of angst with a dash of kick ass for the ex husband. The right amount of revelations that move the story forward on Damon’s mountain. War is coming with several surprises in store, Looks like the last Fastbender, Wreck will be up next. Such a well written, fast paced, and deeply involved book. Truly enjoyed reading Fastlander Fighter.
This is book four of The Fastlanders series. I’m reading all of them but unfortunately not in order, by accident. This series is good and I like the journey of this new crew. Every book keeps the whole crew in the mix which is why the series is good. The book feature couple is Captain and Sloane. They are the sweetest and knew each other in high school. Captain was Sloane’s first kiss. There was an event and Captain didn’t speak to Sloane again until now many years later. Sloane is divorced and runs into Captain in the best BBQ joint in their small town. Sparks fly again with these two. Read On!
The only thing I know is once I start reading one of T.S. Joyce's books, I can't stop until I reach the end. Now I am reader for Wrecks story. Joyce never disappoints, and I am glad. Captain's story as told in Fastlander Fighter is complex, chaotic, And filled with hope and good feels. The lady shifters demonstrate loyalty, determination, woman power and live. The make shifters demonstrate an innate understanding by their animals and a fierce connection to the mates and crew. T.s. Joyce just does not disappoint.
I have enjoyed going back to Damon's mountains to get know some of these characters as adults and meeting news ones. When I stated the Fastlander series, Captain was my least favorite character because he was just so arrogant. Now that I've read his story, I'm a changed reader! This story really put perspective on the Captain character, but not only giving some of his back story, reading the change that comes slowly into his character. This really is a great book in an amazing series! There is explicit language and scenes, so mature audience only.
Love these stories and I like this one. Captain meets his high school girl whose grown up and divorced but a wreck while her ex plays games and her son has to share his time. With the looming war, Gunner makes the mistake of using his alpha voice to command his brother to forget, but the mate bond is already there deep. It causes a lot of pain, but the girls step forward and help out Sloane so she gets her man in the end, joins the crew and it leads quite nicely to the title of the next book in the series. I really enjoy reading these stories, they are entertaining and fun to read.
I liked the MFC’s son and his relationship with the MMC. The baseball games were fun. I loved how the kid helped his mom get away from the nasty ex.
It was good to get some insight into why Gunner and the MMC don't like each other as we've been watching their relationship for several books. The synopsis of the conversation that the MMC had with his parents was interesting, although a bit confusing. I'm not totally convinced that the MMC would submit to his brother being alpha, especially after the order he gives him that messes with his head.
Captain has taken a back seat to his brother most of his life. He is a fighter amongst his own crew and then he sees Sloane and remembered her from high school. Sloane is recovering from a divorce and concentrating on her son. This is another great addition to the Fastlander series. Reading about the growth of members of the crew and their struggles really pulls me into Damon's world. So enjoyable!
T writes up these stories in this little world she created and it honestly doesn't matter what it is.. her mind is the best place to visit ☺️ they are automatically added and read the day they come out and then I'm drooling over the next one and stalking her page for updates. (Plus she's just amazing 🤩) 100/10 would recommend. But trust me and start at the beginning. Love love loveeeee seeing old characters and all the intertwining.
Caps and Sloane's story (let's not forget Ruger) have all the elements we have come to love in Damon's Mountainside Fast landers crew. Several appearances of past characters just made the story richer. As Joyce leads us to war we are presented with more of Wrecks story, wow is he going to be a special one and I can't wait. So, get on the bus and enjoy Caps story, I know that I did. Kudos to another excellent shifter bonanza!
The story really starts to heat up! I'm not one for second chances, because I'm too stubborn to forgive. But I cried and I laughed and I felt the healing in this book. "Ooh, this man" you know you're hooked when you read that line! The next book is going to be EPIC and Joyce has a much bigger plan, that she is drip feeding to us between, incredible love stories that you will never stop thinking about.
*Spoiler alert* DO NOT READ unless you’ve read the book!!!
As always T.S. had me in alllll of my feelings with this one! I love that Sloane picked the lioness but a little disappointed that we didn’t get to read of the two meeting for the first time. I’m curious about her lioness’ personality is all lol. I am so proud of the brothers talking finally! That part made me cry ugly lol. Can’t wait to read Wrecks story!! I give it 5 hearts!!!
When Fastlander Fighter was released, I resisted (barely) the urge to read it immediately, as I usually do. Instead, I went back and started reading Book 1 of the Fastlanders for the 2nd time and binge read all the way through Book 2, 3 and now this, Book 4. As all of T. S. Joyce's series are - it's one big epic story. How will I survive waiting for Wreck's story? Oh wait, I'll go back to re-reading Joyce's other series like I already was. That's how. 😄
Captain deserved an epic love and he sure got it! Didn't really like Gunner in the last series, he sort of redeemed himself in his book, but so far not super impressed with his alpha choices. Definitely feel like he should've gotten more flak from his crew, especially his mate. There's no way he didn't realize they had a mate bond going. Guess we'll see how he does under some real pressure in the next book!
Sloane only moved back because her ex and his new wife made her because of her son Ruger. When she goes to moosey's to get BBQ she sees a face she hasn't seen in years Captain. When Captain brings out her food he doesn't recognize her. So when Hallie tells him to do better he talks to Sloane and everything comes back to him. Can he live two different lives to keep her and her son safe from the up coming War? Great read
I have read everything T. S. Joyce has written, and this one got tears from my eyes. Gunner is a good alpha, even if he doesn't believe it himself. What he does to Sloane and Captain was his way to keep everyone as safe as he thought he could. Captain falls for Sloane and Ruger. Sloane finds her strength from the way a real man treats her. Can't wait for Wreck's book next.
