Harley believed capturing the djinn would bring peace to the Sanctuary, but fate has other plans. A new, magical plague threatens the fae community—a dark and untamed magic resurrecting the dead and decaying the living.
When eerie, trumpet-like calls awaken her in the night, Harley senses a demon presence chasing ghostly animals through Midway City. With the phantom stampede growing more corporeal and destructive each night, Harley must uncover the source of this chaos.
Her quest leads her to an old circus elephant graveyard, where she discovers a darkling lord tied to ancient, malevolent powers. This darkling, with hellfire in his eyes, threatens to unravel everything Harley has fought for.
In a race against time, Harley sees the shadow of her enemy—the Priest—looming ever closer, preparing to destroy everything and everyone she holds dear. With the Sanctuary's survival hanging in the balance, Harley must summon courage and her inner demon to confront the rising evil in a world where the line between life and death is hauntingly thin.
Will Harley find the strength to protect the Sanctuary and her band of misfit fae, or will the darkness claim them all?
Without a doubt, Anne Rice is my all-time favorite writer. She inspired a new generation of writers and readers of vampire lore. She made them sexy. But I have to say it wasn't her vampire series that launched my mind into creative overdrive. It was her wonderful hero Ramses from "The Mummy" (unrelated to the movie). She brought one of the most powerful pharaohs back to life and put him on a journey that was romantic and tragic. I knew then that I wanted to write like Anne Rice.
I share my chaotic and immortal world with my husband, two kids, an aging bearded dragon, an adventurous hedgehog, and a parrot who loves pizza. I will read anything about ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses, and I am constantly planning my next trip to Egypt.
When unchained from my beloved MacBook Pro, I am usually sucking down a cup of hazelnut coffee and watching BBC America. I am a certified Whovian, Sherlockian, and Trekkie. Not to mention an addict of alien theories and anything Egyptian.
If I could insert myself into any tv character it would be River Song...so I could marry the Doctor (Note: the tenth doctor...David Tennant).
The first two books in my debut series, Age of Awakening, are available: Immortal Dynasty (Book One) and Immortal Dominion (Book Two). Look for Book Three and a couple of short stories in this series to release in 2013.
I absolutely love Harley as a character and this one was spooky! Who doesn't love an elephant graveyard where the ghost of old circus animals are haunting the town every night? Harley continues to grow into her leadership and her powers and I love her inner demon! Jack is one of my favorites and I loved seeing more of his grumpy, introverted self!
