So, I did the Turkish one first (a language I have almost no familiarity with) and it was rough.
I decided to try this set, this format, with a language I already had some knowledge of -- Italian.
It's outdated for sure (ref: lira, film, etc.). It still should have the repetition built-in -- my biggest complaint with the Turkish version, and this remains a point of contention (I realize I could rewind but rewinding after every phrase or word is annoying/tedious).
That all being said, it has some good phrase and topic choice. But if you have *no* Italian I really think this format/series is meant for repeated whole session listens; otherwise it's not really helpfu.
This Playaway is about 60 minutes long. It is supposed to quickly prepare you for a trip to Italy.
Overall, I thought the phrases and words they choose to concentrate on were good choices (although see below). However, I would have to listen to this a number of times before picking up more than grazie and per favore.
Some of the phrases were a little outdated, like "I'd like to buy a roll of film." Really?
Still, it was very easy to listen to in the car, saying the phrases after the speakers. I would listen to another In Flight audio if I were travelling to another country.
