Jouer les baby-sitters pour une célébrité à problèmes ne devrait être rien comparé à ce que j'ai fait comme tireur d'élite dans les forces spéciales, mais Chris a le don de tout compliquer. Je ne peux m'empêcher de penser qu'il aime quand je le maîtrise.

Mon intuition me dit que Chris n'est peut-être pas aussi hétéro qu'il veut le faire croire à tout le monde. Ce n'est pas mon boulot de faire sortir Chris du placard. Mais quand il vient me voir avec une demande pour le moins inhabituelle, c'est sacrément dur de rester professionnel. Comment puis-je refuser une offre d'enseigner quelques trucs gay à un mec « hétéro » ?

Dans Sa Ligne de Mire est le premier livre de la série des Frères Synn, mais il peut être lu et apprécié dans n'importe quel ordre. C'est une lecture rapide avec peu de drame et une chaleur délicieuse, contre la paroi de la douche, entre hommes. À la fin, vous serez en train de vous éventer et de réclamer le livre #2 !

GR says it's 190 pages, but it felt a lot shorter. And not necessarily in the good way. Too much, too soon, too easily wrapped up.

Not a very credible bodyguard plot. Simplistic writing style coupled with unnecessary euphemisms ("his "finish" on my hand"; "holding my "excitement"") made this author seem very uncomfortable in this erotic romance genre and were distracting.

70 pages of padding.

My biggest issue with this book actually has nothing to do with the writing or story (though those are also pretty glaring), but the formatting. Instead of having an indentation at the beginning of a new paragraph, there is double spacing between each paragraph. There are over 1100 paragraphs, which means there are over 2200 unnecessarily empty lines. This book is listed at 193 pages. At 193 pages, there are 31 lines per page. 2200/31 means that this book has 70 pages of empty space. So, a book that is listed at 193 pages, with a typical read time of ~2.5 hours is actually 123 pages. It took me less than 1.5 hours to read.

Typically, I would just chalk it up to a poor formatting choice, especially since there are a handful of paragraphs formatted with indentations and not spaces. But, this book is a Kindle Unlimited book. And my understanding is that Kindle Unlimited pays per page read. Which of course leads to the problem of page padding. Page padders automatically get added to my list of authors I will not read. So, even if this book was amazing, it would be the last book from Victoria Light that I would read.

That being said, the book was not amazing. There wasn't much in the way of plot, and what plot there was, wasn't good.

Why not have there be a legitimate threat to Chris, instead of him being a borderline alcoholic shit-disturber in need of a babysitter. Why not have Chris closeted to protect his celebrity image, as opposed to making him closeted with internalized homophobia, with brief mentions of being raised by his homophobic mother, but never actually digging deep. I mean, why have a character deal with their alcohol and homophobia issues when they can just be cured by the power of love?

Why did Sylus have had lost and eye? It doesn't serve as any kind of disability or hindrance. The loss of vision in one eye affects ability to accurately track movement, judge distance and depth perception. But, Sylus has none of those issues. So why give you character a disability if you are going to ignore it?

As far as the romance goes, Chris pretty much just falls for Sylus because he is the first gay man he came across. It takes a matter of days for these two to go from disliking each other to fucking. The Synn brothers apparently don't think it's unethical or unprofessional to have sex with their clients. And Chris's boner apparently wins over his internalized homophobia. Then there is the smut, though I feel like calling it smut is being a bit stretch. It's not very descriptive and quite bland. I don't know if it was a lack of imagination or not being comfortable writing sex scenes, but in either case, I would suggest not writing PWP if you can't deliver on the smut. I mean, the blowjob scenes were brief, but I figured that maybe Chris getting fucked for the first time would be better, but it couldn't have been more than a few paragraphs.

So, to sum it up, this is a page-padded book that doesn't deliver in either plot or smut.

I've had such a bad luck with my books lately. Or maybe i've just been easily annoyed. Because this is like the third or fourth book in a row where I really didn't care for one or both of the main characters. I don't know what to say about this one. It felt silly.

Disappointed!!!!
I looooove bodyguard stories, so I couldn’t wait to read this one. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. Maybe my expectations were too high, I don’t know...

First of all the story was way too short. Did we get to know these two men? Not really.

Sylus met Chris, who was drunk and an ass. The only decent conversation they had was at the club when Chris came out to Sylus. And suddenly Sylus was ‘falling for this guy’ (his words). Why? I didn’t know Chris at all at that moment, so I didn’t believe it.
The power of attraction is in the connection two MC’s have. For me they didn’t have one. At all.

Then there was the ‘please teach me to have (gay) sex’. Nooooooo! Why not let the two MC’s get to know eachother (so we also get to like them and root for them)?
After two weeks Sylus is gone and Chris comes out on tv (good for him) and says he loves Sylus....No! Not believable!

Everything was so rushed. Why? A longer story with more build up would have been so much better.

And last: when you have only one eye, you lose a lot of perspective. But apparently Sylus is Superman and he did not have any problems. I would have loved it if he had that ‘flaw’.

If you are looking for great writing, a creative plot, unpredictable story and a new angle to the "superstar and bodyguard" trope...
...look somewhere else!
This is none of the above, it is a short and fun story about a (virgin) country music superstar who is hiding in the closet and an ex-military bodyguard who is hired to protect him and keep him from hurting himself and others.
Yes, I have read almost the same story dozens of times before and there really was nothing new or special about this version.
This is one of those books you read, enjoy for an evening or two, put away and forget,
and don't get me wrong, that is not a bad thing, it was exactly what I was looking for and I have (almost) no complaints, it was a nice and welcome distraction and as I got the bundle, I will continue with the other 2 books in the series!

Gosh, I was so close but I really couldn’t. I haven’t skipped so much in a book before. Ever. Everything was “meh”. The sex, how the plot was carried out, the characters, everything. Everything was basic as hell, nothing was amazing.

I have no love for the characters but I dint particularly enjoy the way Audrey (Chris’s friend)!was practically forcing Chris to come out. Coming out is never easy and if you’re not ready then you’re not ready. It should be done on your terms and not on your friend of significant other forcing you to do so.

If this author’s other books are like this one, consider me done here.

A short, but interesting story about two men who have skeletons in their closets, and in pop rock star Chris’ case, it is an actual, figurative, hellish closet. Retired marine Stylus Synn becomes his bodyguard and manages to both get him out of it and to make peace with his own violent past. “We’ve got different mountains to tackle using different tool sets” counsels Synn. The pain of pretending to be someone he is not, fuels Chris’ alcohol addiction; memories of war plague Synn.
Acceptance by family members means everything to one, and rejection taints the other. Working it out together sets them free.

Chris Barker Stevens is a popular but troublesome singer who is so deep in the closet that he should have obtained Narnian citizenship a long time ago. When he gets into trouble shortly before the release of his latest album, for the purpose of a good ad, a new 24/7 bodyguard is hired to keep an eye on him. Sylus Synn, a former military and Chris' new "nanny", turns out to be an incredibly sexy man who immediately starts to arouse a strong desire in the singer. When it comes to light that Sylus is gay, Chris's life turns upside down.

The first thing that I absolutely have to mention at the beginning of this review are the names of three title characters of the series, the Synn brothers. It's obvious that I would like to write a few words about it, as the series, which starts with the novel entitled "In His Sights", is being built around them. Why I'm so crazy about it? Well, because I'm truly delighted with their names. Sylus, Virgil and Bautista are not particularly popular names – or so I think – which made me love them almost right away. They have something unique in them so they really captivated me and made me immediately give this series a green light. Well, these names are really hard to resist.

It's not a secret that one of the great advantages of "In His Sights" is the humor that accompanies the first interactions between Chris and Sylus. Since the beginning of the novel didn't indicate it at all, I was really surprised when Victoria Light put a great emphasis on the humorous side of this story. I admit that I had to stop reading for a little bit a number of times just to give vent to my hilarity evoked by some really funny scenes. Believe me, various characters are suited to each other in so many ways that it would be really hard to name them all, and in the case of this novel the author decided to bet on humor, thanks to which she quickly won my heart. The first interactions between the main characters of this book are a clear perfection, at which point it is impossible to keep a straight face. I don't want to reveal to much of the details and thus spoil the fun you will definitely have reading this book, so let me just say that the emphasis has been placed on the situational humor, which really suits our two protagonists.

And now, let's get to the next advantage of "In His Sights", which is Sylus himself. I admit that I quickly fell in love with him, thanks to his personality and a few traits that I hadn't expected him to have when I had started this novel. Let's start with the fact that he doesn't "do" a typical celebrity babysitting or deal with Chris's moods in a patient, stoic manner. Sylus simply does his work in a very direct and sometimes brutal way, and I really liked it. There's no way for him to be gentle and it doesn't matter if the said gentleness would be innate or forced by a social status or his profession. If Sylus has to use force, he uses it, if he has to tie someone up, he ties them up. Tell me, is it even possible not to love him? The advantage of this character's creation is also a reference to his past, emphasis put on his relations with his brothers and a widely explained Synn Curse. In short, the author really hit the jackpot by creating Sylus and making him who he is.

I think that the way in which the author presented Chris is equally important. I admit that at the beginning I was afraid that he wouldn't be a valuable enough character and he would bring the whole book down. It turned out, however, that Chris is a much more complex protagonist than I initially thought. I admit that the subject of his psyche and events that influenced the development of his personality are not expanded and presented in detail, but nevertheless the readers are largely able to combine the information they gain during reading and thus they come to conclusions essential to this character's understanding. However, this is barely one side from which we get to know this protagonist. It is worth adding that it is thanks to Sylus that we discover this other side of Chris, the one that is more sincere, true and surprises even him. I won't hide that I liked it very much, as Chris's newly discovered tendencies make this story even hotter.

In conclusion, "In His Sights" is a nice and light novel that can improve the reader's mood right away. The characters are easy to like, and the chemistry between them is almost addictive. I admit that when you finish this book, you want to start the next volume immediately. So I hope that the author won't make us wait too long for the next installment of this series.

Kiedy mężczyzna pakuje się w kłopoty na niedługo przed wydaniem najnowszego albumu, z troski o dobrą reklamę zostaje mu przydzielony nowy ochroniarz, który ma mieć na niego oko 24 godziny na dobę. Sylus Synn, były wojskowy i nowa „niania” Chrisa, okazuje się niesamowicie seksownym mężczyzną, który momentalnie zaczyna budzić w piosenkarzu silne pożądanie. Kiedy na jaw wychodzi fakt, że Sylus jest gejem, świat Chrisa po prostu staje na głowie.

Pierwszym, o czym bezwzględnie muszę wspomnieć zaczynając tę recenzję są imiona trójki tytułowych bohaterów serii, a więc braci Synn. To właśnie wokół nich budowana będzie seria, którą otwiera „In His Sights”, toteż na samym początku chciałabym napisać kilka słów na ten temat. Dlaczego? Otóż dlatego, że jestem szczerze zachwycona ich imionami. Sylus, Virgil i Bautista raczej nie należą do grupy szczególnie popularnych imion – a przynajmniej tak mi się wydaje – co sprawiło, że bardzo szybko je pokochałam. Mają w sobie coś wyjątkowego, co naprawdę mnie urzekło i sprawiło, że od razu dałam tej serii zielone światło. Tym imionom naprawdę ciężko się oprzeć.

Nie będę ukrywać, że jedną z ogromnych zalet „In His Sights” jest humor, który towarzyszy pierwszym interakcjom Chrisa i Sylusa. Jako że początek powieści wcale na to nie wskazywał, naprawdę byłam zaskoczona, kiedy Victoria Light położyła duży nacisk na humorystyczną stronę tej historii. Przyznaję, że wielokrotnie musiałam na chwilę przerwać czytanie, aby odreagować wesołość, jaką wywołały we mnie niektóre sceny. Wierzcie mi, różni bohaterowie mogą do siebie pasować na tak wiele sposobów, że nie sposób wszystkich wymienić, a w przypadku tej powieści autorka postawiła na humor, dzięki czemu bardzo szybko podbiła moje serce. Pierwsze interakcje między głównymi bohaterami tej książki to perfekcja, przy której nie sposób zachować powagi. Nie chcę zdradzać Wam szczegółów i tym samym pozbawiać Was dobrej zabawy przy czytaniu, więc powiem tylko, że nacisk został tu położony na humor sytuacyjny, który naprawdę idealnie pasuje do dwójki naszych bohaterów.

Przejdźmy teraz do kolejnej zalety „In His Sights”, którą tak naprawdę jest sam Sylus. Przyznaję, że szybko przypadł mi do gustu, a to za sprawą swojego charakteru oraz kilku cech, których wcześniej nie spodziewałam się u niego znaleźć. Zacznijmy od tego, że nie bawi się on w typowe niańczenie celebryty, czy też cierpliwe, stoickie znoszenie humorów Chrisa. Sylus po prostu wykonuje swoją pracę w sposób bardzo bezpośredni i miejscami niemal brutalny, co niesamowicie mi się spodobało. Tu nie ma mowy o łagodności, czy to wrodzonej, czy wymuszonej pozycją społeczną, bądź zawodową. Jeśli Sylus uzna, że musi użyć siły, używa jej, jeśli musi uciec się do wiązania, wiąże. Sami powiedzcie, jak tu go nie kochać. Zaletą przedstawienia tej postaci jest również nawiązanie do jej przeszłości, podkreślenie stosunków rodzinnych z braćmi oraz szeroko wyjaśniona Klątwa Synnów. Krótko mówiąc, autorka naprawdę trafiła w dziesiątkę tworząc Sylusa i czyniąc go taką, a nie inną osobą.

Istotny wydaje mi się również sposób, w jaki autorka przedstawiła Chrisa. Przyznaję, że na początku obawiałam się, że nie będzie on reprezentował sobą zbyt wiele i tym samym pociągnie za sobą w dół całą książkę. Okazało się jednak, że Chris jest postacią zdecydowanie głębszą, niż początkowo sądziłam. Przyznaję, że temat jego psychiki oraz wydarzeń, jakie wpłynęły na rozwój jego osobowości nie został rozbudowany i szczegółowo przedstawiony, niemniej jednak czytelnik jest w stanie w dużej mierze samodzielnie połączyć informacje, jakie zdobywa podczas lektury i tym samym dochodzi do istotnych dla odbioru tej postaci wniosków. To jednak tylko jedna strona, z której poznajemy tego bohatera. Warto dodać, że drugie oblicze Chrisa, to bardziej szczere, prawdziwe i zaskakujące jego samego, odkrywamy dzięki Sylusowi. Nie ukrywam, że osobiście bardzo mi się to spodobało, jako że świeżo odkryte skłonności Chrisa nadają tej historii pikanterii.

Podsumowując, „In His Sights” to całkiem przyjemna i lekka powieść, która potrafi poprawić czytelnikowi humor w przeciągu jednej chwili. Bohaterów łatwo polubić, a wyczuwalna między nimi chemia jest niemal uzależniająca. Przyznaję, że kiedy już przeczyta się tę książkę do końca, ma się ochotę od razu sięgnąć po kolejną część. Mam więc nadzieję, że autorka nie każe nam zbyt długo czekać na kolejną odsłonę tej serii.

i read this book as part of an arc program. this is the first book in a new series about three brothers. In this book, Sylus is a former military special forces officer and he recently left the military. He now works for his brother at his security company. Sylus has been hired as a bodyguard and babysitter for country singer Chris Barker Stevens. Chris has a habit of drinking and fighting and getting away from his previous bodyguard. Chris has a new album coming out and the record company wants him to stay out of trouble, so they hired Sylus to live with him. Chris is not happy about the arrangement and when Sylus takes away the liquor and makes him stop drinking, Chris really wants him fired. Sylus is gay and is attracted to Chris, but Chris is straight, or so Sylus thinks. Chris is gay, but grew up hating himself and his desires because of his family. When Chris drinks and fights, he is really fighting who he is. Chris is best friends with Audrey and the world thinks they are involved, she knows his secret and plays along to keep it. When Chris asks Sylus about being gay and asks him to teach him how to be gay, Sylus agrees because he knows how hard it is fro Chris to accept himself with no one to confide in. Soon they are in a relationship, but Sylus will not hide who he is and wants Chris to come out. Chris doesn't want to hurt his career and admit who he really is to the world. I really enjoyed this book. I liked Chris and thought he needed to realize he could be himself and he was worthy of being loved. I think Sylus was a good guy and wanted to be with Chris, but couldn't hide it. This was the first book i read by Victoria and i will be reading more. I also look forward to the next book in this series.

I found this MM romance to be a short heartwarming, enjoyable read & an excellent start to the series “Brothers Simms Series”
It is about: an ex-marine sniper (Sylus Simm) who has joined his brother’s security firm (Simm Services), he is hired by the manager (Denny) of a country singer (Chris Barker Singer) to be a bodyguard/babysitter to the singer and from here the story begins.
I found the story-line & plot well-thought out & written, it certainly kept my attention. The main characters are quite interesting & display realistic emotional feeling as they continue to develop throughout the story-line with good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a controlling ex-marine bodyguard (Sylus), his two brothers (Virgel & Bautista), a spoilt brat country singer (Chris), a caring friend (Audrey), mild twists & turns, drama, memories, confrontation, anger, defiance, attractions, challenges, perplexity, mischievousness, emotional turmoil, teasing, desire, verbal banter, longings, public declaration, happiness, contentment, love, some steam & a well-deserved, satisfying ending.
I really enjoyed reading this MM romance & look forward to future books from this author.
I definitely would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading this genre. I doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.

First, full disclosure, I received an ARC, advance reviewer copy of In His Sights from the mailing list of the author.
So, this is the first of the Brothers Synn novels. As a first in the series it is a solid start. And going by the character descriptions, I look forward to reading Bautista's story.
This story focuses on Sylus Synn, a former Marine sniper and Chris Barker Stevens, a popular country singer.
Sylus has come home and joined his brother's private security firm, Synn Services. He is one of three brothers, all of whom are gay. And all the brothers are unlucky in love. He is hired by Chris's manager in order to rein in the singer's destructive behavior. While attracted to Chris, he won't hit on a guy who is a client and straight.
Chris is an unlovable charcter at first and reason is that he doesn't like himself. Raise by a homophobic mother, Chris has learned to hide what he is by drowning in alcohol. The drinking leads to public fights that are a nightmare for his manager. So his manager hires him a babysitter in the form of an one-eyed ex-Marine.
There is tension from the start and a fair bit of steamy encounters making this an enjoyable read for the length.
There are parts of the story that could be filled out a bit more. I would have liked to see Chris deal with the emotional turmoil that his mother had placed upon him. Sylus could had have more fleshing out about his departure from the military.

I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.

It took me a couple of chapters to really get into this story, but once I did I was completely hooked. Chris starts out as more than a bit of spoiled brat, but once he starts to accept himself (and his attraction to Sylus) he becomes a much more likable character. I wish we had gotten a bit more depth for the Chris's background, there are bits and pieces but I felt like it could have been a bit more to offer a better look into his thoughts. Sylus comes with his own issues, though they don't come across as central to the story as Chris's issues. Sylus has a great appreciation for his connection to his brothers. I liked that as Chris's attitude changes in the story, the way Sylus deals with him also changes. The romance is very quick (insta-love), but there is a sweetness to Chris and Sylus's relationship that makes it work.

I'm looking forward to seeing what is in store for Sylus's brothers in the rest of the series.

Chris is a musician who is in need of a babysitter, I mean bodyguard.. to keep him in line instead of fighting bigots who call him gay. Being in the closet, he is very sensitive to what others say about him. But the tempting Sylus Synn wasnt what Chris was expecting in a bodyguard and neither was the fact that the protective, aggravating and oh so sexy ex military man is also gay and willing to teach the closeted gay man a few new tricks.


In His Sights is the first book in Victoria Light's Brothers Synn series. It is an amazing start to the new series.
This story is entertaining and fun. Some sweet moments and sexy times. I love Sylus and Chris and definitely was rooting for them. A satisfying read that makes me anxious to see what the rest of the series brings.

Chris is a closeted singer and musician who is sacrificing being his authentic self to success. However, he is not happy with this choice and it shows in his self destructive behavior. He keeps seeking punishment for his choices in reckless behavior. He is assigned a bodyguard to save him from himself and he gets Sylus who has been in special forces and realizes that the way he has lived has worked but he does not want to continue that way. Meeting and spending time with one another helps both of them really come to realize what is important. They are both at a crossroads. Loving one another helps them figure out what is best for themselves. This was a strong first novel in the Synn brothers series and I am looking forward to the next installment. May it be as emotional and steamy as this one was.

This is a great start to a new series and I really enjoyed it. It is well-written, I love the storyline, the contrast between the two MC's is intriguing and I love the characters. Sylus and Chris have an interesting start to their relationship and even though it develops very quickly they have a strong connection and smoking hot chemistry. I wish there was more background information about Chris's relationship with his mother and more about Sylus's military career as well. I like the secondary characters and they add a lot to the story. The family dynamic of the Synn brothers is my favorite part of the story and I can't wait to read the next book in this exciting new series.

This first book in the Brothers Synn series was very well done. You could feel Chris’ fear and pain. He doesn’t want anyone to find out he’s gay and will deny and lash out at anyone who hints at it. He obviously carries a burden of shame and guilt due to his mother. I liked Sylus so much, especially how he wouldn’t hide who he was. These two burn hot and finally, Chris has to take a stand. Boy does he do it in a grand way. I applauded Chris’ BFF Audrey for her encouragement. The only thing I would’ve liked is more insight as to what exactly tipped these guys over the edge from lust to love. That would’ve added the last little pinch of perfection for me.

I’m new to this author and I have to say I’m quite impressed and very pleased. Reading this book was fun. Our heroes, Sylus and Chris are terrific. Chris a little cocky and Sylus a little serious but together they bring out the best in one another. From closeted to out and in love, this story’s writing was good, the telling of the tale was very enjoyable and the experience, between these pages, was very pleasing. The conclusion was touching and romantic. I found it easy to lose myself in the story and was disappointed when I had to say goodbye. A job well done with the eager anticipation of the next in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

The first of three books in the series gives us some background on the three brothers who make up the brothers Synn. This book centers around youngest brothers Sylas, a former Marine sniper, and Chris, an out of control, closeted, country rock star.

The plot is on the thin side and there are so many unrealistic elements but I did feel a connection to and empathy for the MCs which says something about the writing (though it’s rather simplistic) and the character development. According to my own rating system if I can connect with the characters and want to know more, it make this book a 4 star (good/very good) read.

Sweet and fun romance about accepting and finding yourself. i found both MC's likable and i enjoyed watching them find themselves. Sylus and Chris have such different worlds, yet they have so much connection. i enjoyed the supporting characters and look forward to more.

i am looking forward to the next book in the 'A Brothers Synn Novel' series. I enjoyed meeting the brothers and look forward to seeing them find their happiness.

It took me the first chapter to get into the story but after that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Sylus is a strong caring bodyguard so sexy and Chris's attention seeking is a cry for help, it was easy to love these guys, I enjoyed their steamy scenes. I also enjoyed Audrey a true best friend to Chris. You also got to read a bit about the other brothers of Sylus's and can't wait to knowing their stories. I can honestly say I recommend this book.

Sylus and Chris

First book great start. Sylus, an ex-marine, with a family curse, working with his brothers in the security business is asked to bodyguard a celebrity. Sylus is a likeable person when first introduced, plus I loved the way he meets his charge. Chris, a self loathing self destructive celebrity in need of oversight. You can tell there's something bothering Chris when he first appears but not sure what or where it comes from. The two together make a great team. I like Chris' best friend Audrey, she's a woot.

Enjoyed this starter of the brother Synn series. Got it free as part of an ARC in exchange for an honest review. And I can honestly say I enjoyed and liked the book alot. The in the closet rock star desperately wanting to explore his hat side hires the out private bodyguard and boy does things change. Chris manipulates Sylus into becoming intimate and when they do the interaction is hot.
The characters of sylus and chris you grow to love. You get to meet the future books leads and once finished you have that HEA feeling.

Hidden your true self for entire life must be taking a toll on Chris, not only he's lonely but he kept denying himself. Drown his sorrow in booze and looking for trouble everywhere. His management hired him a new bodyguard, Sylus, ex marine special force.

From Sylus he learned that your weakness can be your greatest strength but he's afraid to come out to the public and Sylus won't be a secret even for Chris. They ended their agreement, Sylus isn't his bodyguard anymore.

Chris feels lonely more than ever and ready to be true to himself. The way he come out is so beautiful and sweet!

Interesting

One man with a family curse that him or his brothers will find love and be loved. After leaving the marines, Sylus, returns home to and starts working for his brothers security company. Then he has to be a body guard for a a country music singer, Chris. He is not only sexy but so far into the closet you need to send a search party to find into or gossip. See how the break the curse and heal each other.

Good story

Ok, I was really into the story until the author used a term that is very demeaning to the LGBTQ community. The author used the word “preference.”

“Being a Marine for so long, it doesn’t take long to develop a sense for when someone is acting different around me because of my preferences.” page 94

I took offense to that because I’ve been told that being gay is a preference. A preference to me is top, bottom or versatile.

I received this as an ARC. I truly liked the premise of the bad boy musician needing a babysitter/bodyguard. This is a very short , sweet, quick read. Sylus and Chris are so very likable and I wish it would have been a little long for more character development. It makes you want the next book in the series right now! Can't wait for the other brothers stories!

Surprising

I picked this book up for free not really knowing much about the author but I thought the blurb sounded good. I was surprised when the book turned out to be really enjoyable. Sylus was alpha but not in a douchy way and Chris was vulnerable and hurting and was just what Sylus needed. I'm looking at the other stories in the series now too.
