The Girl with No Name

Rate this book
Top 5 Amazon Bestselling Author Mickey Miller introduces a feel-good, road trip romance about what it means to follow your heart instead of your head.

Imagine being offered an extra ticket to a music festival and invited on a road trip with two handsome strangers...would you take the trip?

Let's back up. My name is Reed Walker. Yes, you might know me as the mega rock star with the biggest tour of the year and an unprecedented rise to stardom.

But this is a story about before I became the man I am today. It’s about the wildest adventure of my life—one that started with a road trip I didn't want to take.

My best friend dragged me along to a music festival for a weekend, and by coincidence a girl we'd met the night before ended up riding with us.

Charming, beautiful, and mysterious, she didn't give us her name, saying she was in the midst of a spiritual rebirth.

After a weekend at the music festival, with sparks flying, there was no denying I'd become a changed man in many ways.

I had unexpectedly learned several of life's most important lessons about dreams, love, and friendship.
Now I just have to figure out who she is--and find her again--before it’s too late.

This is the ludicrous—but real—story of how I fell in love with a girl in a weekend, and she changed my life forever.

You might think this story is about me. But really?

It’s about the girl who had no name.

The Girl with No Name is a romance told mostly from the male POV with an HEA.

I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC and am very glad I did! I was nervous at first when Mickey mentioned it was different from his others, but he did not disappoint! The music aspect was wonderful and the message of truly living your life and only having one life to live really hit home with me!

The playlist was a fantastic added feature! So many good songs that helped set the mood of the book! The spice level is low in comparison with his other books, but the romance is very much there! Looking forward to the next book to follow!

OMG!!! I was very hesitant about this book when I knew it was different from all of Mickey’s other novels. I loved all of them so much. However, I have to say this is by far my favorite book of his. It is so deep that I couldn’t put the book down, and read it straight through. I love the love story and watching everything develop. The characters were amazing and very well-developed. Amazing job Mickey Miller!!! I can’t wait for your next book. Now I just have to figure out how to get a hard copy of this one. I hope everyone enjoys the girl with no name as much as I did. And also, the soundtrack is amazing.

I do love a good rock star romance story and this one came in shed loads of good vibes. Great characters with sexy Reed and enigmatic girl with no name aka Luna. Easy to read and added in interesting characters plus some nice song lyrics. I wasn’t as keen on the latter part of the story but that could be because I liked the first half so much but I would still recommend it and it did keep my interest right until the end.

Was lucky enough to get this as an ARC and it was really a great read. I had read one of Mickey's books before and hearing that this one was something a bit different from his usual books interested me and made me want to read it. I am so glad I did! I really enjoyed the story, the characters were so likeable and I could really feel the emotions they went through and even if he didn't know her name, Reed loved Luna from the start. I also liked that a big theme was following your dreams and believing in yourself, such a lovely message :)

I feel like this is one that will stick around in people’s minds for a while… so many great moments of just life ups and downs and the trials and tribulations of the human experience included in this extremely heartfelt roadtrip romance that I feel you will most certainly enjoy.

Have you ever read a book that made you rethink your life?
This book was it for me.
I am a huge fan of Mickey’s work, but this one is my personal favorite.

The journey that this book takes you is just amazing.

This book is emotional, funny, and inspiring.

The writing, the plot, and the characters are all just amazing and it’s a magical experience to read this book.

We can relate so much to the characters, their struggles, and their stories.
The side characters are hilarious and made me laugh out loud so many times.

If you like a road trip romance, rock star vibes, and the woman who was his ultimate muse, you will love this.

This is a book about finding your true self, about how the little details can change the whole trajectory of your life.

Thank you, Mickey, for writing this wonderful story that will be forever in my heart. 🩶

As a music lover, once upon a time music festival go'er and lover of books, I am grateful to have received an ARC copy of this book.

While the lesson learned from the story was a great one, your life is too short, not to love it, story itself fell short for me.

Reed and Luna's story is exactly why I read romance, and God bless this crafty storyteller for taking us on such a profound, evocative, life-affirming journey. My favorite thing is to find writers early in their career and watch them grow in their craft, and Miller has leaped over every expectation with this one. It's clear that he left pieces of his soul scattered throughout these pages, and its nuance resonates in the reader's heart with an indelible imprint.

If you’re not familiar with this talented wordsmith, you won’t realize that some of Reed Walker's persona comes out of real life, and knowing so will enrich your experience. Reed is a single guy who works an office job in Chicago and writes music on the side. When we first meet him, he has his life all planned out, down to appropriate 401k contributions and estimated retirement age. Then his best friend drags Reed and a random girl to Lexington, KY, for the Railfest music festival. And this is where Reed's foundation is shaken and everything he's planned comes into question.

Music plays a large part in the story, which is as fitting for a musician on the cusp of stardom as it is for the ordinary reader. How many times have you heard a song start playing and it immediately takes you back to a specific point in your life? Or how often have you sought out certain music to suit your current mood? It's so much more than words and notes and instruments, and it connects us.

There's a love story between Reed and Luna, but it's not the main focus of the story. Instead we see life paths questioned, healing and growing in the aftermath of trauma, friendships that are stronger than family, and music that brings strangers together as friends. Lest you think it’s too serious, there’s plenty that's charming and funny and a clever roommate butter war that kept me snickering. It checks all the boxes with just the right balance of elements to make it the perfect romance read. Miller's best work to date and my new favorite, you won’t want to miss this captivating, unforgettable read.

I've been following this author since his debut novel and have enjoyed every book along the way. This is different from his previous books, but I think this is one of his best yet.

Reed and Luna (TGWNN) are easy to relate to, and the supporting characters are just as great. This story follows Reed and Luna and the spontaneous choices they make on their path in life, showing how freeing it can be to just go with the flow and do what makes you happy. Life is not perfect, and there can be some bizarre coincidences, and one little choice we make can change our future, but that's the beauty of life. This book brought that into perspective and got me reflecting a bit.

I love the journey Reed and Luna take to find their true self, and this book shows that it can be in some of the craziest moments when you just let go and live life.

I highly recommend this book with all the feels and twists, just like life brings.

What an amazing journey The Girl with No Name took us on! What started out as a chance meeting, in a bar sent Reed Walker on a life changing trip. I loved seeing the relationship grow between Reed and Luna! She showed him how to live his dream. It had all the feels, laughter and tears along with unexpected surprises. Although this book was different from Mickeys previous books, it was fantastic! I loved it! Mickey you’ve written another amazing book! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next!

Mickey Miller has blessed us with an amazing and heartfelt read. This is more than a Rockstar Romance its a journey taken by all the characters main & supporting.

Reed & "The Girl with No Name" have so much growth and so many once in a lifetime eye opening moments it takes your breath away at times.

While Reed & TGWNN are discovering what their paths are and where they're going. We too sit back and reflect on our own lives.

I wish I could give this book so many more stars than 5.
This story was absolutely beautifully written, with an amazing story but with minimal spice (which does not take away from how amazing this book is). Even though it was from a male PoV mostly, I resonated with both Luna and Reed so much, and realized we all are on our own little journey of healing.

Reed- works too hard and is dedicated to the plan. His big 3. Comfortable life. Getting dragged away to a festival by his best friend and meeting the girl with no name who hitches a ride and their extra ticket might push Reed to break the mold.
The Girk With No Name- she's finding herself again after trauma. So much trauma. She met some strangers at a bar and trusted her gut to road trip with them to a concert. What could possibly happen?

Oh, what an exhilarating addition to the beloved Miller verse!

I was incredibly fortunate to receive an ARC of this deeply moving book, and let me tell you, it captivated my heart from the very first page. The character development was nothing short of extraordinary; I truly felt a profound connection to each character and their struggles. Their laughter became my laughter, their tears my tears, as this book pulled relentlessly at my heartstrings. It evoked a whirlwind of emotions that resonated within me deeply! And the Spotify playlist that accompanied the narrative? It was a beautiful touch, melding seamlessly with each chapter, transforming my reading experience into an enchanting journey of exploration, life, and love.

This book diverges a bit from the usual spice that Mickey masterfully weaves into his stories, yet he still managed to hit it out of the park! I genuinely believe this is his most remarkable work to date!

What an amazing cover that completely encapsulates this story. I have to say it is one of my top reads this year. A fantastic story, that you could tell was wonderfully thought out and brilliantly executed. It would make such a great movie, I could see each scene play out as I was reading. It had so many relatable concepts and those life changing moments where you need to decide if taking a risk is worth it. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

il presente in cui Reed Walker ci da solo un assaggio di quello che sta succedendo;

I dovrei, anziché i vorrei.

Old Soul from Chicago, vi consiglio di cercarla su Spotify.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this! Thank you Mickey!

I really enjoyed this book! I loved that he tied a playlist in and each chapter represented a different song!

I hope we can see where Reed Walker & Luna ended up!

Such a coming-of-age story! If you liked "Almost Famous" you'll be sure to enjoy this. It gives such a sense of nostalgia!

I rate this book 5 stars all around :)

This is a book unlike any I’ve read before. The themes run deep. It’s about Reed and Luna by some miracle crossing paths. They’ve found each other in an unlikely circumstance and attend a music festival with Reed’s best friend. Reed and Luna have some truly deep self reflecting conversations over the weekend of the festival and he NEVER GETS HER NAME! Their love story is something that you’d never imagine could be real until you experience it.

This book was outside of my realm of typical reads and man am I glad I took the leap of faith and picked this book up. It made me laugh and cry simultaneously. I hit a broad range of emotions during this read. Mickey really said “you think you know romance? Try again” THIS is romantic. THIS is truly what it means to “see about a girl” prepare for quite the ride when you read this book. You will fall in love so quickly. I found it so amazing that I had to personally message Mickey on tiktok (which is where I discovered him!) and I’ve gone ahead and put that below for you to see. This is truly a magnificent book and quite possibly my favorite read of the year. I’m certainly buying a copy when this book hits the shelves because he deserves the love and support.

“Hi Mickey, this is totally out of character for me but I just had to tell you personally. Your book “the girl with no name” is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. I absolutely loved it. I feel so extremely privileged to have been able to be among the first to read it. It had me hooked from the very first page to the last. Idk what else to say besides thank you for writing such a masterpiece!”

The Girl with No Name by Mickey Miller is a journey of two people discovering themselves. Set by a humorous road trip to a music festival. The road trip invites readers on their journey of self reflection, summer love, and the different choices along the way that might change their destiny.

Reed Walker is a young ambitious corporate tech guy working in a high-rise office building in Chicago. He thinks he has it all, a good job, the woman of his dreams and his future is all figured out. Luna, AKA the girl with no name, is on a spiritual rebirth journey to find her real self and to make changes in her life. Charlie Dunn is Reed’s best friend since high school. He is that impromptu guy and on his own little journey. Mason is Reed’s roommate in Chicago and they met each other in college. He is the inconsiderate snarky roommate. CC is the rowdy mischievous country boy trucker that Reed, Luna, and Dunn meet along the way.

Romance, road trip, music festival, summer love, and a rockstar are all rolled into this book. The author’s writing style is descriptive and captivating. He is a true wordsmith. The book’s structural elements are well laid out and the flashbacks are placed perfectly within the book.

The Girl with No Name, Mainly a male POV. Is a fun, road trip romance. The whole journey of this book was captivating, I couldn't put it down. I laughed plenty of times and in parts I started to tear up, honestly just got me in my emotions. The author's other books are so different from this one. You can tell the author poured his heart and soul into this book. Don’t miss out on not reading The Girl with No Name.

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Mickey Miller is an auto buy author for me and I was so excited to read this new release! This book is definitely different than his other books, but I really enjoyed the realness and in-the-moment vibes this book gives the reader.

This book starts off with Reed's every day normal life. His love for Chicago. His future and aspirations. But each and every person has dreams they would love to live. Most of those dreams don't come true. Reed, with the push of his friend and a girl with no name, suddenly finds himself in an incomprehensible situation.

I found myself jealous of these characters a lot. Living life by the seat of their pants. Just living in the moment. No obligations. No responsibilities. Not that I could live that lifestyle, but it still made me yearn for something like that.

Reed and Luna's journey was inspiring and showed that the most unexpected things can happen in the blink of an eye. It gives readers hope that the right path will eventually come our way, it just might take longer than we want. We might be stuck in our everyday normal, but sooner or later we can get that right moment to really live our passions.

I'm thankful Mickey Miller wrote this deep and thoughtful novel. I wasn't expecting it since I've read his backlist, but I was truly surprised by how much this book impacted me after going through a rough two years. Definitely read this book - I think everyone will really love it!

Reed has is life in order. He has a good job and making 6 figures, a stacked 401k, and a woman he loves and is going to marry. He is as straight and narrow as anyone can be.
Reed’s friend dragged him to a music festival. Reed didn’t want to go because of work but he finally gave in. A woman overheard they were going and asked if she could tag along. They guys agreed. She was a charming, beautiful, free spirited and mysterious. She stated she was in the middle of a spiritual rebirth. Reed called her Luna and they all three set on the road trip to this music festival. Sparks were flying between Luna and Reed. She helped Reed see things in a different view. He learned a lot about himself that weekend and came back a changed man. When they returned the guys dropped Luna off and never got her number or her name.
Will Reed change his life? Or will be continue to be the straight lace always safe man he has always been? will he ever see Luna again?
I really enjoyed this book. It isn’t very spicy but it had a good message about learning to love and trust yourself even after being hurt. Mickey created a playlist for this book. I have never listened to a play list related to the book I’m reading. I did for this one and I’m loving it. Mickey knew how to pull at the heartstrings with this book and can’t wait for his next book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you, to the author, Mickey Miller for the opportunity to read this book.

I decided to go into this book completely blind, especially when I saw on Mickey Miller’s social media that this book was going to be unlike anything that he had ever written. And it was the best decision. I have zero regrets because this book was incredible, a five-star read, and one of my best reads of the year thus far.

Mickey has a way of developing his characters where it is subtle but powerful. Reed and the “girl with no name” (Luna) both had their trajectory, that was intertwined with each other, and their journey was one for the ages.

This review is so hard to write without giving anything away because the storyline is so good that I just want to talk about it. While this is classified as a romance book, the romance part of the story is more of a sub-plot and I enjoyed that aspect. It added to the story but it was not the whole story which is something that appeals to me as a consumer of almost solely romance books.

And let’s just talk about the lyrics within the book… so powerful and they add so much to the story. I highlighted so many lyrics and passages in this book and I cannot wait to buy my hard copy to annotate in the future.

I was honoured to receive an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

The girl with no name is based on a girl who has had to deal with too many things in her past so she is trying to re-discover who she is. She ends up with the nickname Luna.

Reed likes structure in his life and this includes having a life plan for everything from when he is going to marry someone & what sort of money he should be earning by a set age. Reed doesn't cope with any type of change.

Luna, Reed & his friend score some tickets for a festival that Zach Bryan & the Red Lemons are headlining. Reed is such a big fan of the Red Lemons. There are several things that happen at this festival.

One of the things I loved about this book is that it's realistic, to the extent that you actually feel like you are there. All the characters deal with everyday issues.

There are plenty of authors that can write in the form of text. However Mickey has gone above and beyond this. Not only has he taken time to associate every chapter with a song but he also includes certain lyrics to these songs - including some really incredible ones that he himself has written and performed.

I would definitely say this is more than a 5 ⭐ book. I was hooked from the start.

Wow, Reed & Luna's story is probably my favorite book of the year & I've read quite a few! It was such a wonderfully powerful journey of self discovery, self doubt, an incredible music festival with an amazing song list & the most amazing chemistry any two characters have ever had! This was also a chance for one last hurrah with his best friend Dunn, whom I absolutely loved!
Reed has everything all mapped out & is sure that his life is set on the right track. However, his girl is two thousand miles away & doesn't seem too keen on moving back to Chicago.
Luna's life was going great until tragedy struck, oh & she has terrible taste in men! She is on a rebirth journey to find herself after a devastating break up throws her off course.
Heading to a music festival with two strangers doesn't seem odd to her at all & what a crazy ride it becomes! The spice level wasn't what a Mickey Miller book usually has, but it was just what the characters needed!
I absolutely fell in love with this story & couldn't put it down. I literally read it in one sitting! I hope you find it just as entertaining. Enjoy!

While this book has romantic aspects, it’s about a man with 401(k) projections, a timeline for his life and a plan he does not stray from. It will inspire you to take a breath and maybe stray from your life plan a little. After all, you may become a rockstar or fall in love.

Reed works in cyber security and excels at what he does but he doesn’t love his job. His long distance relationship with his girlfriend Samantha seems like the perfect relationship. They have shared interest, are both ambitious and they make sense to Reed.

When Reed is invited to a music festival out of town by his friend Dunn that requires him to miss work, he obviously says no. That’s not part of his plan!

Eventually he ends up deciding to go to the concert with his best friend, a random girl who we affectionately call Luna. This small choice has the opportunity to change Reeds life completely.

Throughout the book we learn about Reed and Luna. We see who they once were, who they want to be and what choices they’ve made along to way to get there.
