They say women can't have it all. Maybe they're right. On the outside, I've got a beautiful life. But the truth is, I've got a stalker who pays me more attention than my him.
Everything changes when I hit a fellow stranger with my car. Not only is the foul mouthed man a flipping psycho, it turns out he's to be my new nanny.
This has to be a mistake. Not only is the wounded veteran crude, arrogant and about as stubborn as me—he's about as handsome as a man could get that he could make an angel weep with envy.
He gets under my skin. Pushes all my buttons. And even then, I can't ignore how he looks at me. He might be ten years my junior, but he is all red blooded male. If I don't stop myself, the line between licit and forbidden will begin to blur.
Following my heart—following my lust—could cause nothing short of a scandal. Because one man I can't get to look my way. One won't stop looking at me. Which makes me torn between my vows and uncontrollable desire.
Only thing standing in my way is...my husband.
Paddy is book two of the Sullivan Scoundrels, an alternative history/historical romance. If historical accuracy is important to you, this read you might want to skip. But if you like a feisty heroine, an alpha-hole hero bodyguard posing as a nanny who would do anything to protect her, you might enjoy this taboo/forbidden romance!
This was like 80% smut and that’s a bummer because I thought the set up here was really interesting. At the start, this is an enemies to lovers x bodyguard set up with stalker on the loose. It’s Pretty and Paddy bonding and Paddy getting Elijah to trust him. About 50% or so in, its slivers of plot interspersed with a ton of smut. Like we literally have Pretty dodging an assassination attempt and then like 2 pages later, it’s more smut. I don’t understand why the plot was shrunken this way at all. Also, Elijah stops mattering at this point, too. He’s just always at sleepovers.
I saw a review say the perp was obvious. I didn’t think it was immediately predictable, but the reveal came with more questions than answers IMO. Vernon said he was recommended to Paddy by Moore. Why? Did Moore just think Paddy would fail? Also, that entire set up was giving Tyler Perry special.
Vernon being gay didn’t explain why he just didn’t care about his own son. The set up for Paddy being a father figure to a kid that wasn’t blood would’ve still worked even if Vernon hadn’t been so apathetic about his kid. Also, him siding with Moore at any point was just another point in the column for saying this guy hated his own kid.
There were some typos in this one. The plot was illogical, at times, as well. But the first half of this kept me entertained before it went downhill for me.

Pretty is an older married woman and Paddy is a bad boy Irish gangster. He was hired by her husband to keep her safe but to "calm her pretty little head" Paddy was going to be the Nanny. Going from "Nanny" to body guard to *Daddy* was a time. They started off not really hating each other but they got under each other's skin for sure. Paddy doing it on purpose just because he can 🤣.
Paddys love for her though was everything. He showed her how she could and should be loved and cherished. Pretty wasn't a damsel though which I liked. She was feisty, talked back a bit, and had her own life. Their love was deep and for being an Irish Gangster he had some big feelings that he wasn't afraid to share and had me tearing up 🥹. I love them together.
Like I'm sure other reviews will mention, read the series!!! Grab the next book when it comes out. Ramani Rose knows what they are doing in creating dark and delicious men who are obsessed with their women. You'll be giggling, kicking your feet, and blushing at the things they do.
The second book in the Sullivan Scoundrels trilogy was a study in forbidden romance, love, trust, betrayal and resilience and was very hard to put down once I started reading. This had me up reading until the wee hours of the morning. I liked the heroine Pretty and her son Elijah and how Paddy built his relationship with him and got him out of his shell. I liked that we got to see Cillian and his wife Queenie from the first book and the rest of the Sullivan clan. Paddy is a highly erotic read and has the element of daddy/Dom play. While it’s not my cup of tea I still found the book an enjoyable read and would recommend it in a heartbeat! I was given an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review
I'm not gonna lie it took me a minute to get into Paddy's book. He hasn't replaced his little brother as my number one Sullivan but I truly enjoyed his and Pretty's love story. Can't wait for Bellamy's story!
Paddy is book two in The Sullivan Scoundrels series by Ramani Rose. Ms. Rose gives Paddy a tighter scope in terms of the narrative and action. The story is more of a mystery with less concentration on the mob aspects of the Sullivan lifestyle. I was gratified to catch up with all of the Sullivan siblings, especially Cillian and his wife, Queenie. They are still very happily married, very much in love and with a growing family. The tropes of enemies-to-lovers and forbidden love are ably utilized to tell this raunchy but heart-tugging story. Former soldier Paddy is the enforcer of the Sullivan family but also moonlights as a bodyguard. He is tasked with the job of keeping renown actress/singer Pretty safe from a stalker. Pretty is married with a young son and a neglectful husband. She is struggling to write music, take care of her son and hold her faltering marriage together. The last thing she needs is an arrogant, gorgeously dominating man masquerading as a nanny! But I loved how easily Paddy inserted himself into the lives of Pretty and her son. Pretty and Paddy are both broken but in different ways, she is weary of always having to be in control and being taken for granted while he is tired of hiding his pain and hiding his truth in plain sight. This story had many levels, and Paddy was an exceptionally complex hero, he had a rough exterior but was so supportive and loving where it counted. Pretty struggled with her sense of worth and was just too noble in her desire to do right by her marriage and her family. The mystery of the stalker was totally unexpected and I was surprised by the outcome! This book was an excellent entry in the Sullivan family saga, I look forward to Bellamy’s story next. https://theretiredreader.com/f/paddy-...
Paddy oh my goodness Paddy! This book had me clutching my invisible pearls. I thought Cillian was hot but Paddy was hotter. I absolutely loved this story. It was refreshing to see an age gap where the FMC was older. Pretty is an amazing plus sized character that knew what she wanted and was trying hard to get it in the wrong places and once Paddy enters her life she blossoms in the most spectacular way. This book had me going through so many different emotions the action and the twists and the turns and the spice were everything. Paddy is a must read! Ramani Rose knocked it out of the park with this one and I can’t wait for the next book.
Something about that Sullivan Family Curse makes me want to abandon my morals! Paddy and Pretty's story was a great follow-up to Cillian. I loved how their dynamic gradually shifted from combative to inseparable. They were just what the other needed to truly heal. I can't wait to read to the next book in the series.
I loved this book and the characters. Pretty and Paddy were made for each other. Their love was unexpected but it was needed. I understand their trauma and how it feels to have someone see you for you.
"I know what it's like to feel like you lost the biggest part of you. Because you know if you lose it, ain't no chance of you finding another one. Men like us, we don't always get our path to be happy. We're the lucky ones, remember?"

Pretty crashes into Paddy’s car, and from that moment, her life is never the same. Paddy Sullivan — arrogant, dangerously charming, and ten years younger — somehow ends up being her son’s nanny. Though his demeanor screams gangster, Pretty can’t deny the pull she feels toward him. With her marriage crumbling and Paddy making her feel visible again, their forbidden connection simmers with tension and heart.
While I struggled with his initial arrogance and flashes of misogyny, as the story unfolded, I began to see him as a scarred, tortured hero carrying so much shame about his disability after being discharged. That vulnerability made him complex, and I loved how gentle he was with kids — especially Pretty’s son, Elijah.
An emotional, gritty romance that proves even the most flawed heroes can win you over. After falling for Cillian, I was curious about Bellamy — and finishing Paddy has me even more eager to read his story and uncover his past.
"We both had an itch that we needed to scratch, and We both had an itch that we needed to scratch, and we accomplished that. But I don’t think this should happen again. I'm going to go out for a smoke. Feel free to see your way out.” Did Paddy the Tin man not just make Pretty skip to my loo down the yellow brick road! WTH... Omg that man. Paddy Daddy with his slick mouth but fine hateful but lovable ass is the epitome of deviantry. Dont assume you know until you read Paddy And Pretty story. The FMC may had moments of wilting but stood on business. Ramani Rose did her big one have me switching up, Cillian no longer my fav paddy daddy IS! Omg, we catch up Cillian and Queenie too ok yall have a glimpse get the book to get the swooning jaw dropping experience. Nah he didn't, paddy was 🔥 throughout the book.
Five Blazing 🔥⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐for Paddy the Sullivan Scoundrel Enforcer❤
😍😍😍Paddy the Sullivan scoundrel enforcer with all of my beating ❤🙌. Just when I thought I couldn't love any Sullivan more than Cillian, Paddy comes in with all his swag, rizz , & 💯alpha dom deliciousness & blows my mind!!!😯Paddy's flaws, self doubts, military injuries & torturous childhood at the hands of his evil father emits a gamut of human emotions throughout the entire story😥He gave his whole heart to his wealthy goddess, "sweet girl" Pretty Washington- a famous mixed -race singer -song writer , & her son Elijah - swoon😍The mystery & suspense of Pretty's deadly stalker kept me glued to this📗 at the expense of my IRL responsibilities😅. I only wish the epilogue was longer as I wanted more of Pretty & Paddy! Happy Reading🍷
Sometimes a girl just needs a Daddy, and if she's Pretty, she gets a Paddy! Paddy is the second book in the Sullivan Scoundrels series. Book 1, Cillian, is an excellent book with endearing characters, and I couldn't imagine that being eclipsed by the next brother. Wow, was I wrong! Paddy and Pretty are two lonely souls, hurt and adrift. One of my favorite tropes is hurt/comfort; add the Daddy trope and I'm done. Both characters have been hurt by life and hide their pain behind a strong and in-charge demeanor. The sparks fly between the two. She needs his dominance, he needs her submission The spice is chef's kiss. That limo scene? Yummy. I was weak in the knees" after that. I am enthralled by the Sullivan Scoundrels! Each one gets better and I can't wait for Bellamy and Tadhg!
I re-read this book in preparation for Bellamy's book release date. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I couldn't see how Paddy and Pretty could have a HEA but they did. Paddy has a lot of physical and emotional trauma that he was carrying around like a stone around his neck. Pretty is a woman that is grossly unappreciated and unloved. So of course these two were going to bump heads when they first met. But opposition grew into something more and how they managed to navigate that made this book such a great read. I'm anxiously waiting for Bellamy's release in a few days and Tadgh's story. Oh, and it's best to read Cillian's book first.
Paddy gave a refreshing twist highlighting the mmc’s physical insecurities as opposed to the typical portrayal of female characters.
Once again the Sullivan family shows how deeply loyal they are to those they love. I absolutely cherished how tight-knit they all are. Just as in book 1 with Cillian, Paddy is no different in how hard he loves even with incoming strife.
Pretty’s character showcases struggles many woman feel, when burdened with carrying the weight of family with little to no support. Seeing Paddy show affection to the things about Pretty that she is hesitant to embrace about herself was beautiful.
Paddy highlights love, family, support, and acceptance.
They're "meet cute" was a fender bender during which he cussed at her, threatened her, told her women shouldnt drive because they have periods, then said "oh bu the way, I'm your nanny." And miss too stupid to live got in a car with him and os going to let him raise her child? Worst mother ever woth no respect for herself and he's too much of a jerk to be let near any person, let alone a woman. Paddy's father is abusive physically and mentally, yet he blames women for all his problems and clamors for his fathers approval.
I loved how this brother had a completely different spin on it and how the author touched on the challenges folks faced as a civilian and soldier (military). The characters were well thought out and I'm hoping we get a story about the rest of the fam. Next is Bellamy's story which won't be released til the end of the year!😢. What is a reader to do while we wait?????!!!😉😁 lol! Please read the series! Its great!!!
I was pretty bored by this story. It was ok but nothing thrilling or interesting. The stalker storyline was pushed to the side until the very end of the book and I didn't appreciate the choice to make a likeable character the villain. It seemed so out of character, it was jarring.
The spice was boring mostly as well. The constant use of 'Daddy' and 'sweet girl' wasn't my thing. I just will never be a fan of 'Daddy'.
2.5 Stars I really didn't like the writing in this one. It was partly due to the time that the book was set during and the characters slang based on their backgrounds, but there were a lot of errors as well. And while the story takes place in the past (somewhere around the 1940-1950s?) I didn't like that the characters were so chauvinistic. I needed more interactions with Elijah, especially because paddy was supposed to be his nanny, and because they both had fathers that were lacking and could have really connected over it. Just overall, the story and writing were lacking for me.
As usual it's a well written story. My favorite thing about this book is just the overall story line Looking forward to continue the series. I totally recommend to anyone interested Looking forward to continue the series totally recommend to anyone interested in A unique love story.
The author did a good job with this one. It was funny, sexy and heartbreaking. I somehow knew the identity of the stalker very early in the story as well as the reason for the conflict but I was still surprised by how it unfolded…no spoilers folks but if you want an interesting series. I would recommend reading this one.
Ramani Rose does it again with these sexy cursed Sullivan's. When Paddy is hired to become Manny/Bodygaurd he thought it was business as usual. Paddy didn't expect to be so attracted to Pretty, his Boss's wife. With Pretty's Husband away from home more than he's there, she and Party find themselves in compromising positions. 🔥🔥
In the words of DJ Khaled another 1 this book was really good I fell in love with patty and pretty story I really empathize with him and his past trauma and how he was trying to get past it to find love and this was just an amazing read I can't wait for Bellamy to come out and if you have any other ones thank you so much for writing this book
This was a great read Paddy and Pretty together was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🔥🔥🔥 Looking forward to the other’s. Bellamy’s next. I would also like to see Órfhlaith’s story. If not a part of the series then as a stand alone. Keep writing 💝💝
Hi early the author kicked it out of the park again. I love the characters, the storyline, THE PLOTWISTS, OMG THE PLOTWISTS. This is definitely my favorite mafia series. I will scream it from the rooftops brb
I have enjoyed this series so far. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy Paddy but he got me hooked. I would recommend this book and can't wait for the next book
