It’s been a few years since part of the Lapsi curse was broken, giving Lapsi a chance at community for the first time. While many have yet to embrace this new part of eternity, Cassandra from Troy is determined to recreate the city she lost millennia ago.
Since losing his soul, Jeb lives in seclusion, pilfering streaming services from his neighbors, and watching humanity through his television.
But one night his curiosity leads him face-to-face with a dark conspiracy in Portland. He’s questioned by Cassandra herself, then thrown—literally—into moving traffic, resulting in one dead Uber driver, and an injured bystander named Hannah performing useless CPR on an unconscious Jeb.
Cassandra’s distraction leads Jeb and—consequently, Hannah—even deeper into her plot to take Portland, and they barely escape with their lives. Now Hannah’s life is entwined with Jeb’s, and he has no choice but to house her until he can figure out how to stop Cassandra, or—more likely—how to avoid getting further involved. Without his soul, he can’t bring himself to care. But Hannah, as inconsequential as she may be, has enough soul for the both of them.
How does he fight a plan to take an entire city, though, with no soul, no friends, and only Hannah covering his back? And why does Cassandra seem to be fascinated by Jeb, but even more so by Hannah?
Amelia Rose has a BA in English and Classical Humanities, but barely remembers any Latin. She lives in Ohio with her husband, and fills every moment of her free time with writing, drawing, making beaded jewelry, or constructing cardboard sculptures. She loves dancing shamelessly to all kinds of music, obsessing over musicals, devouring horror movies-the gorier the better--and going to concerts. She never passes up the chance to ride a rollercoaster or get kisses from a dog.
Fallen Idols is Amelia's debut novel, and the first in an ever expanding series called The Fallen Favorites.
Fallen Souls by Amelia Rose is the third book in her The Fallen Favourites Series.
The story revolves around Jeb and Hannah, who meet when he is thrown in front of her Uber after discovering a dark conspiracy in Portland. Jeb lost his soul centuries ago and until now has lived in seclusion, but after this, he has no option but to house Hannah until a plot to take over Portland is stopped. Hannah is a nursing student heading home from a bad date when she is thrown together with Jeb and catches the eye of Cassandra, a Lapsus who is determined to recreate the city she lost millennia ago.
While this book centres on new main characters and a new villain, some familiar faces and favourites from the previous books also appear. I love the update on Colt, Libby, and little Sophie.
While this book can be read on its own, I would highly recommend reading the first two books in the series before you dive in. As this book picks up after the events of Fallen Foes, it jumps straight into the story with the expectation that you know about the Lapsi and their history so some of the worldbuilding you come to expect for a standalone is not there.
This world draws you in, and you can't help but fall in love with the characters and want nothing but the best for them. This is my favourite book of the series so far, and from the story line, plot, and character development, you can see the growth in Amelia's storytelling.
Full of intrigue and conspiracy, Fallen Souls is an edge of your seat, supernatural story that smoothly combines the old world with the modern in this story of vampires and witches trying to overcome the battle to save Portland.
This book really shows the authors development as a writer. It has depth, backstory and a strong overal story.
It's a few years after Danielle broke the curse that caused Lapsi to not bond or form a community. Jeb however still likes his solitude and when he goes out one night for a bite (pun intended) he witnesses something strange. He follows the woman involved who is none other then Cassandra of Troy who herself is a Lapsus. She plans to form a new Troy for Lapsi in Portland. At the same time Hannah, a nursing student is on her way home after a date when the car she's in gets in an accident. That's how Hannah and Jeb meet. During the book they learn a lot about eachother and plan to stop Cassandra. They get help from two characters from the second book in this series and even Riley makes an appearence. Cassandra has a thing for Hannah but she denies her which causes Cassandra to take revenge by stealing something very import from Hannah.
I rated this book 3,5 stars

I enjoyed this book as much, if not more, than the first two. The world that Amelia has created in these books is so interesting and entertaining, it just draws you in. Even though we had different main characters this time around, it was nice to have some cameos from some familiar faces. I really liked Jeb and Hannah. Hannah was resilient, and overcame time and again when others would have fallen apart. And I found myself drawn to and rooting for Jeb right off the bat. He is a different kind of MMC, with his stoic, unfeeling, reluctant to act personality. But Hannah broke through all that, and together they were perfect. I definitely recommend reading books 1 and 2 if you haven’t, especially for the world building and characters. And then definitely add this one to your TBR!!
Brilliant storytelling of vampires, witches, and battling against the odds.
Book 3 in the Fallen Favourite series did not disappoint. Picking up after the events of book 2, this follows Jeb and Hannah as they try to nativagate a Lapsi coup to create a 2nd Troy in Portland.
We also get an update on Colt and Libby and their adorable little one, Sophie.
Like the previous books in the series, we are treated to paranormal, supernatural edge of your seat storytelling. This packs secrecy, intrigue, fate, conspiracy, and a little soul sucking all wrapped up in a vampire romance with a sprinkling of spice🥰
I don't normally start with book 3 of a series, but it wasn't an issue. I was able to jump in without any issues. The story follows our heroes, Jeb and Hannah, and a fabulous villain, Cassandra. While Cassandra was bat-youknowwhat crazy, I actually liked her. *lol* The author has a interesting take on vampires called Lapsi/Lapsus. It's an interesting take on the lore. I found the story interesting and fun to read.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of the book from the author/publisher.
Amelia you brilliant brilliant babe.....okay...let me unpack this for you readers. Amelia is absolutely brilliant by the way she takes Greek mythology, old Bible lore, and flips it on its head, Smashing it together with fantastic lore, then making you go. "No I actually could believe that." The way she brings her world into view makes you never want to put the books down. I am so excited to get the chance to beta read book 4. I freaking love you Amelia. Thank you again for your books. (I know I bought them but I love having your signed copies!!!)
I loved this book. It was different from the first but just as good. I loved the new characters as much, if not more than I loved the old ones. I enjoyed the story line and the action that was in. I especially loved the new baddie as well (not as much as the ones from the first book, they have a special place in my heart but this new one is amazing). I found the book hard to put down and ended up reading it in about 8 hours.
3.5 ⭐️ This book definitely leans more on the plot and action than on romance, which was not a bad thing. However I felt like the romance subplot was a bit underdeveloped in a sense that I wasn’t sure when the relationship truly developed? Overall I think the book had a really interesting storyline and was well paced.
I liked this book and the continuation of the Lapsie. The combing of new the old worlds. Great read if you Ike paranormal that combines characters from Troy to characters of the 17 & 1800 hundreds all with a modern take.
Overall was a good book There was so much happening in the book, with Cassandra take over part of Portland and having an Army of vampire. Jeb and Hannah relationship went from friend to lover was good and they had a happy ending
I loved the book and the mystery, and the bisexuality, and the characters, and the author’s growth. But I loved the first characters more, that the only reason why its a 4.5 for me
Holy bananas! I am never prepared for how much I love this world. This author is a master of her craft. This book is full of steamy spice and great dialogue
