Don't fall in love with your fake girlfriend's sister.
It's harmless when Will agrees to a fake relationship with his best friend and business partner. She needs an excuse to stay away from her ex-boyfriend while visiting her family for Christmas. And the fans of their online show have always wished for them to become more than friends. What better time to capitalize on that than while shopping the show for streaming services?
Chatting with a beautiful woman at the hotel bar the night before...is probably harmless too. Their chemistry is instantaneous, and he's lost to her deep brown eyes.
Lizzy needs one night away before the chaotic week of Christmas, and the stress of dealing with her sister. When the winter storm cuts out the hotel's power, and she finds herself falling for the sexy man whose hands she'd been lusting over. She has the one-night stand she never thought she'd go for.
Their night was perfect, but Will showing up for Christmas as her sister's new man...that was less perfect.
Accidentally Under Your Tree is a steamy, small-town romcom, featuring a one-night stand and being on the wrong side of a fake relationship with a ticking clock to Christmas Day. HEA guaranteed.
Marty Vee is the midwestern gal who is going to banter her steamy contemporary small town into only one bed, time after time. The friends will become lovers, and so will the enemies.
She lives in the Mitten State with her introverted husband, two feral children, the fluffiest house cat, and is the emotional support human to her tender-hearted rescue dog.
She loves singing (constantly) and meandering hikes through the woods.
We’re back in Grand Ridge! 🙌🏼😍 This was such a cute romance with a little bit of spice mixed in, just perfect for a quick, festive read! Thank you for the eARC! 🙏🏼💞
It’s a week before Christmas and Lizzy somehow meets the man of her dreams. She’s on such a high, that she doesn’t think anything can dampen her mood, until her twin sister Rose, who she’s had a strained relationship with for the past 8 years, shows up with her dream man, Will, in tow! Not only that, but Will and Rose have a social media account together and are trying to make it big, so they’ve actually faked their relationship!
Knowing that their relationship is fake, Lizzy tries to navigate her own relationship with Will, but it turns out, she doesn’t want any of attention that their social following may bring.
Is Will willing to give up his show with Rose for Lizzy? Could Lizzy get used to the attention? Or will she further strain her relationship with her twin sister for her chance with Will?
Ahhhh, I already can’t wait to visit Grand Ridge again in the future! 🙌🏼💞
We are baaaaack at Grand Ridge and it was great to see more of the residents in this quirky small town!
The story follow Lizzie and Will as they unexpectedly meet in a hotel bar on Lizzie's way home and really hit it off!
Imagine Lizzie's surprise when Will turns up as her sisters new boyfriend... oops!
I initially didn't quite know what to make of Lizzie as she seemed nice, if a little awkward but over the course of the book my view drastically changed and I could really relate to her.
Will, on the otherhand, he gave me real Labrador vibes! Very eager to please 😆. He was lovely though and really cared for Lizzie.
The story itself is a classic romance so I really enjoyed it as it was a warm, fuzzy, guaranteed HEA book that is perfect for Christmas by the fire.
I first read Marty Vee’s style from “Hazel and Elijah”, and I was excited to be set in the same town with some mentions of characters I’ve already loved.
“Accidentally Under Your Tree” is a play on my favorite trope of fake dating. it was done so interestingly was fun to read! I also didn’t know my heart needed the underlying trope of the sisters working through their things during the holiday season.
the author really nails her character and chemistry descriptions. this book was spicier than I remember “Hazel and Elijah” being, and 🥵🥵 wheww.
the only thing I didn’t love in this is the jumping around between past and closer to xmas, and back to past for a small bit. I love a Dual POV but I think having a linear timeline makes me happier.
I’m grateful for the chance to have ARC read again for Marty Vee. I also purchased this copy because I love the twisted classic fake dating trope!
When the man Lizzy had a one-night-stand with shows up at her mom and dad's with her sister for Christmas, things get...complicated.
But Will didn't know who Lizzy was, and his relationship with her sister, Rose, is a fake, designed to help Will and Rose score a spot on a streaming network for their house-flipping YouTube channel.
Rose and Will decide to tell Lizzy, but now the three of them have a secret they can't share, and Lizzy and Will's feelings for each other are hard to hide.
This was such a cute read! Will and Lizzy are red-hot. I loved the small-town holiday activities. And a sibling reconnection story is always a winner for me. I wanted more from Shay, Lizzy's friend! And I hope we get more Lawrence in a future story!
After ARC reading Hazel & Elijah Find Out back in April I was so incredibly excited when Marty reached out to me about ARC reading this book and I had the absolute best time! I have been looking forward to getting some more festive reads in during the lead up to Christmas and this book was perfect for it, the whole story from start to finish was so cosy yet full of tension I just couldn’t get enough! I never wanted to put it down not even for a second I was desperate to know what was going to happen been Lizzy & Will as well as how the fake dating storyline between Will & Rose was going to play out in the long run for the book 📕
My favourite thing about this whole book was the way that every single character brought something to the table; Rose was witty, Lizzy was caring, Will was protective, Lawrence was broody & Shay was fierce I loved them all so much especially when all of them came together I adored seeing the mixture of personalities and getting to watch them interact with each other it gave the books an extra layer of spark to it which only intensified as we learnt the backstory behind why Rose & Lizzy fell out, the tension really was hitting 👀
Overall, this book was so good I cannot find a single fault in it everything about it had me hooked from start to finish and the read completely filled me with joy & festive cheer! A little note to my future self if you get into a relationship with someone who doesn’t fight for you the way that Will fought for Lizzy you need to dump him and find someone else because the way that he refused to give her up even when he was fake dating her sister was indescribably hot I have read about determined men before but when it came to keep Lizzy in his life as “his” he was on another planet and I LOVED it 🌍 I am so incredibly grateful to have been given this ARC to read and I cannot wait to read more of Marty’s book in the future, I want to say a huge thank you to @martyvee for reaching out to me I appreciate you trusting me with your phenomenal book! 💚
Accidentally Under Your Tree was a really fun Christmas romcom. I enjoyed it even more than I was expecting! Lizzy and Will meet at a bar and have an instant connection. They enjoy a fun night together, not realizing who the other really is. Will works with Lizzy’s estranged twin sister, and is supposed to be fake dating her.
Lizzy and Will had wonderful chemistry and I loved how honest they were with each other, even with the fake dating complication. In addition to the romance, I loved the side characters and the small town vibes. The dynamic between Lizzy and her sister was also interesting and added a lot of depth to the story.
If you like romcoms that are both steamy and sweet, and that have a great supporting cast of characters, you should enjoy this one. It was a fast paced, quick read, but didn’t feel like anything was missing. Although, I would love to know more about Lizzy’s sister!
Will (aka Bill) and Lizzie (aka Anne) meet and for nd instant attraction that can't be contained. The next day, Bill learns that Lizzie is his best friend's sister he's only known as Anne. Lizzie knew about Bill, so she is just as surprised to find that he is HER Will. Crazy, right? This whole 'situationship' could have only worked because, even though Rose and Lizzie are twins, they're fraternal rather than identical, and both Will and Lizzie are called different names by Rose (making it easy for neither Will nor Lizzie to make a connection with Rose...until he arrives with Rose, as her boyfriend, for Christmas with the family). Convoluted? Absotively posolutely. Interesting? Absotively posolutely. Sweet and romantic? Even more absotively posolutely. Enjoyable read? How can there be any doubt?!
Cute holiday read. If you’re like me you can read it anytime of the year. What would you do if you met the perfect man? Spend the night with him of course. Lizzy meets Will and they hit it off. Next question what would you do if said man was “dating” your twin sister? Rose and Will aka Bill are in a fake relationship. They need to do it for their show. Lizzy finds out about Rose and Will when they show up at their family home for Christmas. Rose and Lizzy are not close like they used to be. Lizzy and Will can’t stop gravitating towards each other. Rose and Lizzy try to repair their relationship.
A twist on my favorite trope! Will and his best friend Rose agree to pretend to date to boost their chances of their Youtube show getting a streaming contract (because the fans are clamoring for it), but a few days before Christmas, Will has a one-night stand ... with Lizzy, who it turns out is Rose's estranged twin, who will also be home for Christmas.
This was DELIGHTFUL. It was steamy and sexy and also had family reconciliation and getting snowed in, and of course Rose was secretly still in love with her ex and had negative-100 chemistry with her fake boyfriend, who couldn't stop mooning over Lizzy.
Holiday romcom This is a full length novel set over the Christmas season with a family get together, a fake dating arrangement between co-workers, a perfect night between strangers, a strained relationship between sisters, wonderful humour, witty banter, great chemistry, small town community, a roller coaster of emotion, high chemistry, drama and romance. The characters are easy to relate to, and I had my fingers crossed or Lizzy and Will the whole way through. I’d love to read more about this group of characters in the future, especially Rose, Lizzy’s sister.
Accidentally Under Your Tree By Marty Vee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lizzy goes out to a bar for some alone time before the holiday chaos ensues at home. Next thing she knows she has sparked a conversation with the hottie next to her. When the power goes out they cling to each other and end up sleeping together. When Will agreed to fake date his business partner, the last thing he expects is to find out that her sister is Lizzy. He shows up at their family home for Christmas and now he’s stuck pretending to like her sister while trying to act uninterested in Lizzy. I loved watching the complexity of the situation unravel while Will and Lizzy try to sneak around without family seeing them. This holiday book was full of Christmas cheer, spice and family drama!
I loved Will and Lizzie’s meet cute! And then there’s the awkward situation that comes after. Neither one of them is expecting to see the other when Lizzie’s sister brings her “boyfriend” home for Christmas, especially when they had hit it off so well and were hoping to start something together. This was a great Christmas story with a fake dating situation that no one was really comfortable with. Watching Will and Rose be a couple was painfully hilarious. I loved that this was just as much a story about Lizzie and Rose’s relationship as it was about the start of Lizzie and Will’s.
Will and Lizzy, Bill and Rose…this fun romp through a fake and very real relationship for twin sisters at Christmas is a fun read with humorous and tender moments. There’s a lot to love here. My only disappointment was the unresolved - Streaming? Lawrence? I hope we see more of this group in a future novel or bonus scene…
Marty is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! Accidentally Under Your Tree is the perfect RomCom with some added spice. I fell I’ve with all of the characters from the very beginning and I was immediately invested in following Will and Lizzy’s holiday romance journey!
💡The lights go out in the hotel bar where Lizzy is staying, but before they do, she noticies the beautiful rough hands of the man sitting next to her. It’s like catnip for her. One thing leads to another, and the two are drawn to each other in a way neither were expecting.
🎄They certainly weren’t expecting Will to be the fake boyfriend arriving home for the holidays with Lizzy’s twin sister Rose who she doesn’t get along with.
🌟It’s hard for Rose and Will to keep up the ruse when he’s so taken with Lizzy, and Rose in turn can’t keep her eyes off her ex, Lawrence. Maybe the time together with Will can help them all face some truths.
📚I have read of few of Marty Vee’s books and they have so much heart ❤️ I really enjoyed the way Rose and Lily and their family handled conflict in this story. They accept their children for who they are and have the foresight to look at the bigger picture, appreciating how the sisters are reconnecting. The sizzle between Lizzy and Will is so good, and the dual POV keeps things real.

For those seeking the insta-love warm and fuzzies this holiday season, "Accidentally Under Your Tree" is perfect for you. Like your favorite holiday cocktail, it's a mix of spicy, sweet, sassy, and a whole lot of humor. I've truly enjoyed Marty Vee's writing, and this Christmas treat is another wonderful addition to her collection. Sit back as we revisit new favorites and old friends in Grand Ridge.
Lizzy is determined to find a way to mend her relationship with Rose. Their rift has gone on for too long, and it's time for it to end. Easier said than done. To muster up the courage and take a break from the sheer insanity of her new life, Lizzy decides to blow off steam at the local hotel bar, only for the power to go out! What should have been sheer terror turns into a pleasant surprise when the gorgeous stranger she noticed at the bar attempts to comfort her. She should have just said goodnight and gone back to her hotel room, but there was something about this stranger that made her want to let loose, just this one time.
For Will, it was supposed to be an easy favor for his friend and co-star: give the audience what they want by pretending to date Rose, head back to Rose's hometown for the holidays so she doesn't have to face her ex-boyfriend alone, and land a streaming deal with Netflix. Easy, right? What wasn't supposed to happen was meeting the woman of your dreams at a hotel bar, having an incredible night together, and then finding out that this woman is your now fake girlfriend's sister, and you will all be under the same roof for a week. How could everything that felt so right and perfect less than 24 hours ago turn into complete chaos?
This story is adorably cute. As mentioned before, it's perfect for individuals who love that insta-love connection between the two main characters. For those who need more time for the connection to flourish, they may grimace a little at the strong lead-in. I'll give a friendly reminder that this is a holiday romance, so just call it "holiday magic" and accept it for what it is. A wonderful blend of humor, romance, spice, and holiday cheer, the timeline moves forward and backward over the course of the week - jumping from the night Will and Lizzy meet to various days before Christmas, depending on how the events relate to their initial encounter, all leading up to a countdown to Christmas morning. Marty does an excellent job pulling the reader into the holiday spirit while maintaining a little dramatic undertone from what's going on in Lizzy's personal life.
The overall chemistry between Lizzy and Will was undeniable, from the moment she noticed his hands to the moment he used them to calm her when the power went out. It just escalated from there. Their one night together was at Marty's signature level of heat, and essentially any scene with these two was destined to light up the pages.
Having visited Grand Ridge during Hazel and Elijah's story, it was wonderful to return to the eclectic mix of characters. While they remained in the background, allowing more focus on Rose, Lizzy, Will, Shay, and Lawrence, it was a delightful treat to have quick check-ins with old favorites.
Full of sweet moments, warmth, and festive cheer, Marty Vee once again proves she can make us laugh, sigh, and swoon with her ability to capture just what her readers want and love about her work. With fully developed characters, a whimsical town, relatable drama, and just the right amount of spice, "Accidentally Under Your Tree" is a holiday treat for anyone looking to add one more book to their winter reading list.
The premise for this book was definitely eye-catching and the start of the book had me committed, however there felt like some huge gaps with a lot of things left unresolved between multiple characters. I have a feeling this is because of future books for the series but I felt it made the storyline a little wishy washy. One thing I did enjoy was the way the author conveyed the connection between the two MCs and how the MMC fell HARD. This was a cute Christmas read with a bit of spice.
3.5 ⭐️ Cute Christmas read and followed on from Elijah and Hazel. Thanks for the eARC copy. A great little Christmas read with some spice and angst. Xx
Lizzy & Will’s story was definitely one that had me very invested.
Lizzy & Will meet at the hotel bar the night before she’s supposed to welcome her sister & her new boyfriend home for Christmas. They have a very fun night together & plan to keep in touch. But when Will walks in the door with her sister the next day….things get messy.
What Lizzy doesn’t know is that Will’s relationship with her sister is fake. Will tries to deny his feelings for Lizzy but it becomes unbearable. He tries to make Rose see that telling everyone the truth is for the best but fate intervenes & tells everyone for them.
Afterwards Lizzy is a bit hesitant to try a relationship with him now that the truth is out but her sister convinces her that it would foolish to miss out on this opportunity.
This was a sweet book that definitely had me interested & intrigued about how it would all play out.
What a wild situation! Lizzy and Will meet in a hotel bar on a stormy night a week before Christmas and share an incredible night together. Lizzy had to move back home with her parents after losing her job and now trying to start her own business. She also had a falling out with her twin sister (not identical) and they have barely spoken in 8 years but are about to spend Christmas together. Will is trying to boost his online show with a streaming service by having a fake relationship with his co-star. He has no idea that his co-star happens to be Lizzy's twin sister. (This is why it's important to learn people's last names🤣)
🔥: Steamy and passionate! These two are so hot together. We get most of the details in slow-paced scenes. 😆: Sooooo much dramatic irony, I love it!! You're likely to have a few giggles thanks to it! 😭: No tears!
This premise is so good and I had a blast reading it! I love holiday romances and this one is a must-read. I love the fun twists and turns!
