Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty are just some of the classic fairy tales you'll enjoy in The Tall Book of Princesses . Eleven beloved tales, illustrated with Aleksey and Olga Ivanov's richly detailed artwork, make this a treasured addition to every child's bookshelf.
Lovely illustrations accompany this collections of eight standard fairytales and three from Japan, Greece, and India I’d never heard before. A great book to read aloud at bedtime or anytime you want a short story. The Little Mermaid has a happier ending than Hans Christian Anderson wrote.
We finished this last night and I liked it almost as much as my daughter. There are mostly the common fairytale stories but the difference is the stories aren't the same old, same old that you see in the Disney movies and the usual books. Almost all were slightly to severely different and I know I enjoyed that part. The stories aren't very long either. I think there are 11 of them all together and one I had never even heard of. They're about 3 to 4 pages on average and you can tell by the cover picture that the pages aren't that full. The illustrations were nice too- Julia got a kick out of the long-haired men with high heels with bows on their shoes. :)
