Book #2 of Tess Oliver's 'Years from Home' trilogy
Poppy Seabrooke knows one thing for certain; she would rather die than end up married to the warlock, Angus Wolfe. Thanks to Angus, she is a complete stranger to Cade Tanner, the man she loves, and true happiness seems far from reach. But after Cade saves her from nearly drowning, she senses that he has not forgotten her completely.
Cade Tanner walked out of the jailhouse convinced that something wasn’t quite right . . . as if he’d left something behind. Something he needed badly.
Then an accidental brush with the U.S. Marshal's wife changes everything and nothing in his life will be the same again.

This book went in really unexpected directions. I really didnt see this coming. I though they would be in Montana for the whole of book 2 again. But a lot happened, they traveled to a few different distant places, and the fantasy elements got much heavier. But it was so short :( and I wish Cade and Poppy would have had more time to be together. But the scene near the end was totally heartbreaking and their love is totally epic. I loved that. :) I cannot wait to read book #3, but I dont know how it will work out. Poppy admit that if it hadnt been for Angus, she never would have met Cade. But maybe they will be immune to the changes. When dealing with time travel you can sort of make up your own rules.
Regret number 1....I finished it too soon! Regret number 2....I finished it too soon!
Did i say that one already? This book was just as i had expected it to be...EXCELLENT. I can't remember the exact date i finished the first book but i think i recieved it in January....for the second book to be done in March after only a 2 month wait....i was sure that it would lack something. But No lacking!!!! Tess has such a creative mind....it's just amazing the visions she must have while writing a book. You're amazing Tess....(sobbing uncontrollably) simply amazing. I can't wait to see how book 3 is done. It's crazy because i am the type of person that has a new book every day...but lately i have been slacking. I think the last book i read and finished was actually part one of the years from home trilogy. And since then...i couldn't find it in me to become interested in any other books. But then this book came out :-) And i finished it in a day.
I'm Back!
If you loved Book One people....Book two will have you just as in love :-)
I loved it as it was gripping from the start right through to the end. By the time I had got to the end of the first book I knew I had to buy the 2nd book, to complete the story which I can highly recommend.
"Unbreakable" is a wonderful follow up to "Distraction." Poppy has been living in Montana posing as the wife if U.S. Marshall Wife. However, Wolfe is the warlock who has tricked her into a blood pack of marriage. While she await a decision from the Council of Witches on her fate, Poppy must endure watching the man she truly loves, Cade, ignore her because Wolfe has altered his memories.
Little does Poppy know but Cade's memory of her and their love for each is still intact. He just has not had an opportunity to see her alone to tell her even though on a couple if occasions he has come to her rescue. When Wolfe is forced to return to Salem to meet with the Council, Poppy is left behind. Soon she is danger when three robbers come to town wreaking havoc. In the aftermath of the chaos, it is discovered that Wolfe is not really a Marshall and the town turns on Poppy.
When Wolfe returns to wisk Poppy back to Salem Cade manages to tag along. Both Cade and Poppy will be forced to face more trials and tribulations if they truly hope to be together. The writing in this book is rich with vivid imagery and action. I really could see the progression of growth and expertise in the writing of Tess Oliver. The ending promises more surprises and adventure in the third book. No, I will not spoil it for you by giving you a hint. This is one story you need to read and savor for yourself.
Poppy is a stranger to the small town in Montana, Angus made sure of that, Poppy also is married to the Sheriff of the town. When Angus casted the spell Cade forgets who Poppy was, along with his family. Poppy is still trying to find a way out of her blood pact to Angus when some things start to arise and challenge her on the way. This was really good, I actually wasn't expecting some of the things put in here. My only problem was it felt like it was too short, but it was really good overall. I can't wait to read the next book when it comes out.
