I've read 3 books in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series so far and I must admit I am kind of hooked. I like how the romance, suspense and psychic/paranormal genres merge in the stories.
Knock, Knock is the 5th book in the series.

I liked the storyline and there was enough suspense (though a bit slow at times) to keep my interested and though I liked the hero I did find the heroine a bit irritating at times. I also felt a lack of chemistry between the heroine, wealthy and beautiful Shay Lassiter, who uses her money to run the non-profit Lassiter Foundation and ex-cop and computer genius Roman Chandler.

I enjoyed meeting up with Maddy, from Maddy's Floor, the 3rd book and Stefan, introduced in Tuesday's Child, the 1st book in the Series. Now, he's an interesting character and I can't wait for his book.

A quick and enjoyable read.

I have received the book from the touring host for an honest review.
This is my fourth book for the author and my first adult book from her, and she did not disappoint. The plot was well layered with suspense as people started to die for no apparent reason other than natural causes.
The characters were interesting and believable as the story unfolds, and soon you are glued to the pages as you learn more about the psyche world and the dangers it can cause. As with everything in life, this too can be used for good or evil, with revenge the main subject of the plot.
We meet Shay Lassiter and her ghost pet Morris right from the start, trapped in a dangerous situation with her fiancé Darren. At the end, this man left her vulnerable and with many trust issues, and it took her a year to get over his unnatural death. Vowing to never trust again.
We meet Roman Chandler, trusted friend on mails, but when they met in person, it was a whole different story. Secrets and trust the central theme between the two as they found themselves in the midst of strange deaths and even stranger circumstances. Trying to figure out the why’s and how’s.
Her good friend Stefan Kronos, is the person that keeps her grounded, allowing her to explore more of her feelings towards Roman, and her own abilities as a psyche. He was her voice of reason, strong, capable and always willing to help. The friendship beautifully illustrated throughout the book.
Pappy or Charles, beloved grandfather and friend, became a play ball in the hands of our killer. His quiet persona and support a continuous strength in her life. He was her past and present all wrapped up in one. His love for Bernice is a touching story of love that never dies, even after death.
Bernice, beloved friend, surrogate mother and mentor died in her arms, when her last breath was relinquished Shay saw something in her eyes that startled her, and she knew she that this was not a typical killer they were dealing with. But to proof it was where all the trouble begins.
The rest of the supporting characters were well defined, unique in their own roles as the various scenes played out.
With psyche abilities, astral projection and becoming one with the universe, it was interesting that the essences of the story were always “Love conquers all.” A great read, well written with enough passion to fill the pages as the killer sow havoc in this woman’s life and her blooming love for a man she hope she can trust more than life itself. Suspense filled with enough drama to keep the pages turning as Shay and Roman find each other.
Who was the killer? Well it came as a huge surprise, I will recommend buying the book, and you will know. 

The fifth novel in the "Psychic Visions" series is pretty much along the lines of its predecessor, "Garden of Sorrow" - an intriguing and well-developed plot; includes a strong and very likeable male lead (Roman), and a so-so female heroine (Shay); a romance that feels one-sided (his); and a couple that lacks any chemistry. Once again, Stefan also plays a major role in this novel.

A matter of contention I had with the story is Roman's angst regarding his relationship with Shay. Instead of dreading or feelings of probable doom of his relationship with Shay when she realizes that she’s the model in all of his painting and sketches he’s created in the last two years, why not just tell her upfront that her grandfather and her godmother sent him pictures of Shay because they were trying to set them both up, especially since Shay knew of their matchmaking plans of setting her up with him? Not only that, after what she went thru with her fiancée, you’d think she’d use her psychic powers to learn Roman’s feelings and intention directed at her instead of just waiting for him to tell her the truth. I just felt that the reasoning behind both didn’t make any sense; that they were really weak excuses to use when it came to their relationship.

Otherwise still a good read. In the meantime, I look forward to the day when Stefan’s story is written.

We meet Shay at the start of this book, she's woken with a sense of dread. Her ghost cat Morris a blue ball of energy at her shoulder. What ensues is a psychic battle with her fiancé. One she almost doesn't survive but with the help of Stefan and then Morris she does. She sees something as the end is near but it was too late to stop the process. Darren and who or what was inside him died. A bittersweet moment as well since Morris was gone too.

A year later, Shay is looking forward to meeting Roman Chandler, they connected through their grandfathers who are close friends. She already knows his twin brother Ronin, a detective in Portland. However, hadn't lived here until recently. She didn't know what their relationship could be but she does want to find out.

Shay runs a foundation and uses her ability to read energy to be sure what is on paper matches the intent of the person requesting the grants. Beatrice Folgrent, her godmother, also runs a similar foundation and they often compared applicants to see which foundation they would be better suited to. It's a grand fundraising event put on by Beatrice that Shay finally gets to meet Roman in person. Aside from the immediate attraction something else happens at the same time.

Things start to go a bit crazy after this. It appears someone is targeting people who run places funded by Shay's foundation. Even with all that going on, the attraction between her and Roman is growing. He's hiding something and that scares her. She's afraid he's hiding things like her now dead fiancé.

Roman wants to share his secret, but he's afraid of her reaction. He's beginning to get a reputation as an artist and it's his 'model' that might get him in trouble with Shay. He's been painting her for years with no face showing. She's his muse, he's tried other media but they never work for him.

Once again it's Stefan who helps get that ball rolling in the right direction. All that and tracking down the person responsible for the attacks. Ronin is also helping with Roman handling her security and computer work.

Plenty of intrigue, some laughs, some sizzle and yes, I even cried in this one.

Shay Lassiter is wealthy and beautiful and spends her time running an organisation called the Lassiter Foundation, but all that meant nothing when her fiance tried to murder her. Now she is far more cautious and uses her knack for reading people to save herself heartache. However, when people connected to the foundation start dying in slightly unexpected or mysterious ways she needs to depend on help from the new man in her life. Computer specialist and ex-cop, Roman Chandler has s secret that could ruin his relationship with Shay. Can he get her to trust him and learn more about him while saving Shay when the killer sets their sights on her?

This was definitely a clever psychic mystery wrapped up into a romance between Shay and Roman. There were parts of this story that I found long-winded and monotonous, and there were parts that I really enjoyed (hence the rating). It was well written and very enjoyable to read. The way that Roman rescues Shay at the end was very clever.

Keep your friends close.....

...and your enemies closer!
Although they have never met Roman knows Shay, she is his muse, his passion, the other half of his soul, but they both have secrets. Roman's secret may cost him his future with Shay, but Shay's secret could prove to be deadly as her past comes back to torture her and ultimately cost her everything. Roman is the only one who can save her, the only one who can pull her back, but to do so he must embrace his dreams and the skill he never knew he had.
Betrayal, revenge and a need for power are motive for murder but can they identify the darkness that tries to claim them.

Super scary thinking this is possible, it really made me think. Bad people using gifts to cause such devastation. Full of suspense and action as well as a budding romance. Depth of character is great and interesting, Roman with his gift of art, and Shay with quite a well developed mix of them. I liked the added ghost cat, I have a few of them around myself, the comfort they can give even if I can't visibly see them, feeling one laying against my leg is wonderful. Quite complex in the plot, there is a whole lot going on but it's intriguing as well. Very detailed, it gives readers a great picture of what's happening. Extremely enjoyable story.

Fast paced and entertaining. The couple has more of a romance in the book then the other stories have, but it still on the fringe of the story, rather than the main story. The psychic component had the villain(s) with strong physic powers be introduced an idea of a psychic attack which was fascinating.

Seeing the respect for Stefan and how they all bound together to protect the kids was a great connector of this story to the series. The writing is colorful and the story imaginative. Can’t wait for the next story!

Shay runs the Foundation giving millions to support the work they do.
Checking with their aura’s and energy if they are honest in what they want and how they will be spending the money.
She has closed herself off after her fiancé tried to kill her isolating herself in work. A year later people associated with the Foundstipons mysteriously die. Shay is attacked by a fog, will she live through it, someone is determinded to kill her. A love interest with Roman, of whom has been painting her for some time. Interesting of reading about people’s energy.

Revenge is a killer

Took me a while to get into this story that is why it is 4 stars not 5.
You know it has to be a sibling of ex-fiancé because of revenge as the motive but a total surprise on who it turns out to be. Very sick personality but considering the sibling relationship and how sick Shay's fiancé was really no surprise there. Roman was a little confusing in his attitudes because of his friendship with Stefan and his own gifts. Looking forward to Stefan's story.

After DNFing book 4, I gave book 5 in this series a crack. DNF at 15% in, the psychic battles aren't my thing plus the regular reference to the h height was - to me - stupid. She is a little under 5'9", which is about 2 inches taller than average. Not exactly a height that 'scares off men' or would allow her to see over the heads of others in a crowd.

A series that just gets more intense with each addition!

Not to be missed, a definite must read, this series delivers! Creative, inspirational, and unexpected, a love conquers all evil ending! The books in this series can be read as a single title, but don't be surprised when that single book drags you into Dale Mayer's world of A Psychic Visions!

This is a good series. I just wish the author could come up with some different descriptive phrases for the villain ( it's the same in each novel as you will discover if you read them ) and also the same phrase for the male love interest is used throughout each..

Enjoyable paranormal suspense…

Shay Lassiter runs a charitable foundation that helps those in need including animals. She has psychic abilities tied to energies and reading people. A year ago her fiancé tried to psychically kill her but with the help of friends she survived and turned the tide against him. She has been guarded ever since and questions her abilities after they failed her in truly seeing who her fiancé was. She meets Roman and is stunned by what he makes her feel but there is a wall around him, something blocking her from reading him and that is a serious concern.

Roman Chandler is an ex-cop who is now a computer security specialist and an artist. He’s had a relationship with Shay via computer for a while and has been looking forward to meeting her in person now that he is back in town. She has been his muse and his paintings are of her though he painted them without a face. He wonders how to tell her this and how she will take it as their relationship progresses. He has had no psychic dealings before and has much to accept to be with Shay; for it is a part of her, it is who she is.

People that Shay knows are dying, one close to her, others acquaintances and something about it really doesn’t feel right. Shay reaches out to her psychic friend Stefan as well as Ronin Chandler, a cop who she has had dealings with before and the brother to Roman. Together they seek the person behind the dark evil energy that is causing harm to those that Shay cares about.

This was an enjoyable paranormal suspense with a compelling storyline which will have you suspending your belief system. An open mind is needed as there is much of the psychic in this book. There are multiple points of views which heightened the mystery and intrigue. My attention was captured from page one and kept until the end. This reader did not see the twist in the identity of the perpetrator coming. The romance between Shay and Roman was sweet, they are the life partner that each has been waiting for. The romance was a bit overshadowed by all the action in the story. You do not need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one.

One thing of note, this book could have used an editor, noted 28 errors which were distracting.

I liked this one a lot, but the grammatical errors are annoying which knocked down the rating. It starts out pretty dramatic and it took a while for me to figure out the villain, but the one thing that is consistent about these stories is that it isn't easy for the police to solve without a large leap in faith, and even those who are similarly gifted struggle with locating the person behind the crimes.

Shay is a strong character. Even after the betrayal she suffers, she has her beloved grandfather, close friends to lean on who are like her, a rewarding career, and a potential new love interest. She isn't completely trusting, but she is still open to a certain extent. Roman is someone that her family and friends believe would be good for her. Their grandfathers are close, she knows and has worked with his twin brother Ronin, and she has been communicating with Roman long distance for awhile. However, things get a little dicey when the people around her begin to die and she knows Roman hasn't been completely forthright with her.

I love the connection that slowly builds between Shay and Roman. He's a good guy, but she's been burned so it takes her some time to come to grips with her feelings for him and whether or not she can really trust him. He knows he wants more with her, but even he is unaware to what extent he cares for her. It was funny to see others can see what he plainly did not.

Overall, one of my favorites of the series. Looking forward to Ronin's book, then Stefan's.

Skip this book, SKIP IT. Let me start by saying that I've read several other of the books in this series, and I enjoy them. They're generally great guilty pleasure reads while running on the treadmill, kinda hokey, but entertaining. This one, however, was as if it was written by an entirely different person, and was maybe one of the worst written books I've ever read. I stuck it out and finished, but I still don't know why. The heroine of this book, Shay, supposedly headed a charitable foundation and was allegedly an intelligent person responsible for handing out money and overseeing the workings, yet for some reason, the author chose to have Shay speak like an uneducated 14 year old. The book was written entirely, Shay's dialog as well as the general narrative, in valley-girl colloquialisms and descriptions that made me cringe. Some of my favorite examples, "The doorbell rang like five minutes too soon," "...eyes turned completely black, as in no white. At all." and "she so was not going there with him." The over and unnecessary and inappropriate use of the word "so" was glaring on what felt like every page. There were even several "nots" throughout, as in, "Sure, she'd love to go to dinner. Not." Just terrible. We all may speak like this to some extent in casual conversation, but I expect a bit more from what I'm reading. Everything in this book, the characters, the plot, the whodunnit, the actual prose, was heavy-handed, and just flat out bad. I don't need every novel to be award winning, and I'll say it again, I enjoy these types of books here and there, but this one was a HUGE miss in every way.

Another fun little ride in a world where those with psychic abilities find themselves drawn together and the bad guys can do things that no one should be able to do. With Stefan as a touchstone and mentor/friend to the various psychics, they've all come to rely on one another when times are tough.

This time around, we have Shay -- wealthy, independent Shay who finds something terrible in her fiance when he tries to kill her -- at the center of things. She's smart and driven and she no longer trusts herself when it comes to relationships because she failed to see the darkness in her own fiance before he tried to kill her.

Meanwhile, Roman is the perfect complement to Shay but the secret he's hiding keeps Shay on edge. Throw in a series of mysterious deaths and danger that is relentless and Shay and Roman are going to have to work hard to make something of their budding relationship.

While I can't say that the bad guy was a total surprise, I found myself second guessing my conclusions more than once. The showdown was big and bad and the bad guy definitely got what was coming to them.

And the psychic community keeps on growing. *thumbs up*

*received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*

This read was okay, but it definitely left me wanting. Roman and Shay were pretty cute, but with the villain slinking around (and not doing a very enticing time of it) their romance felt a little lacking. I loved the way they came together and his secret regarding Shay and his art pieces, but that's about the highlight of their relationship for me.

The eerie presence wasn't very creepy. I was mildly wary when the black eyes appeared, but after that, it seemed dull. It wasn't as exciting as the previous installments, but since the last book was the BEST I've read so far, I can't entirely blame this story for being out-shined.

The writing was pretty good, but it was lengthy at some parts and it did a lot of 'energy' info, which took away from what creepiness I could get out of it. At times I'd find myself skimming through every other paragraph, and I don't like that so I tend to reread, which is why it took me so long to finish it. I recommend this to those who like a good suspenseful read with psychics, but because this theme was more business-like (last book starred a gardener) I personally couldn't find much interest beyond the psychic aspect and murders.

I know what I like and I like this series, actually scrap that, I LOVE this series. Each book draws me deeper into a world where all is not as it seems, with believable characters and interesting plots that are not what you would expect. Shay has serious trust issues, and after what she's been through who could blame her? And Mason has a secret. Combine that with murders of the mysterious kind and a vengeful killer and you've got one hell of a book. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really love the fact that there is one central character that is a mainstay through all of the books (the enigma that is Stefan), and although each book highlights two different characters each time, (who have nothing to do with the other characters) he is the glue that binds them all together, and in this book we can see where the plot could take us when Stefan gets his own story. I can't wait. Another hit for me from this author.

'Knock, Knock' was an intense, thrilling and suspenseful read. The storyline was well written and well thought out. The paranormal aspect was very creative. The way the storyline played out had me on edge quite a few times. I wasn't sure how it would unfold. The characters were amazing. Stefan and Maddy were an integral part of how the scenarios 'that let all hell loose' ended. Shay is quite powerful with her capabilities regarding her psychic and made a great lead. Roman was iffy for me at first. Once I got to know his personality and his reasons for doing what he did, I fell for him. I look forward to reading more of this series. A great add to your tbr list.

I TRIED HARD TO LIKE THIS BOOK, JUST COULDN'T. IT WAS A LITTLE SLOW AND REPETITIOUS BUT MOSTLY I REALLY DISLIKED THE MAIN FEMALE CHARACTER SHAY, SHE WAS JUST TOO UNSURE OF HERSELF. I FOUND THAT VERY ANNOYING AFTER AWHILE IF SHE SAID "WAS SHE MISSING SOMETHING" ONE MORE TIME, I THOUGHT I WOULD SCREAM. I MUST SAY THE KILLER IN THIS WAS FRIGHTENING, TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT TO INNOCENT PEOPLE. I DID KNOW WHO IT WAS BECAUSE OF A CLUE THEY (the killer) GAVE. REVENGE IS A TERRIBLE THING ON ANY LEVEL, EVEN MORE DANGEROUS ON A PSYCHIC ONE, NOW THAT WAS SCARY. ;]
