I am an author in the grand old city of New Orleans. I've written sixteen acclaimed books: nine paranormal novels, five collections of supernatural short stories, and two esoteric poetry collections. I am an avid reader and student of esoteric studies intent on examining the "big questions" in life as are my characters. One of my recent novels Treading on Borrowed Time is a love story set in New Orleans which explores the issue of past lives, karmic obligations, as well as other dimensional beings. My latest book, Travels into the Breach: Accounts of a Reclusive Mystic, follows the exploits of a supernatural detective who specializes in psychic attacks.

Ghost Soldier
The Ghost Files, Book 2
By: Evelyn Klebert
Narrated by: John M. Perry
I really liked this psychic ghost hunting book. It is a husband/wife team where the husband is a PI and the wife is a psychic. The husband's cousin is desperate for the couple to get rid of the ghost is a place in Louisiana. They explained that isn't how it works but he didn't listen but they went down there. What they find is frightening. It is very exciting and filled with ghosts and more. Great ghostly read!
The narrator was great, just perfect for this book, did all voices perfectly!

Entertaining horror listening 🎶🔰

Another will written fantasy world 🌎 haunting horror ghost 👻 demon adventure thriller novel by Evelyn Kiebert (The Ghost Files book 2). Ellen and Monty are on vacation in New Orleans having dinner when an old friend of Monty shows up ☝. He tells them about hauntings at th military base near by. The minute they enter the base Ellen feels the hauntings and horror. They manage to kill the demon but Monty loses his friend. I would highly recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of fantasy haunting adventure novels. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening to books 📚. 2022 👒😢😯

Encountering a different author brought a unique vibe from the outset. Before this tale, I hadn't explored this author's work, but I'm now inclined to delve into her other writings. The initial situation could have benefited from more development, as it seemed to reset the characters' attitudes. Initially, they reverted to their starting points: one a staunch skeptic, the other an open-minded believer. The plot is straightforward: they receive an invitation to a place with an ongoing event and are tasked with resolving it.

Ghost hunting in New Orleans—it doesn't get much better!

At least, that's what paranormal investigators Ellen and Monty Drew believed.

Regrettably, their dream holiday is abruptly interrupted when they are summoned to eradicate severe poltergeist activity in a residence.

Severe and horrifying.

The plan goes awry...and chaos ensues.

As the entities retaliate, the Drews are thrust into an unfamiliar realm—a metaphysical plane where they are outmatched.

Fortunately, the Drews have some tricks left in their arsenal.

John M Perry resumes his role as the narrator. Although his style hasn't completely won me over, it has improved since the initial attempt. It seems he has better grasped the characters and adapted his narration. The characters are intriguing, and I'm eager to accompany them on their supernatural escapades.

The second book in this series is a bit better and more entertaining than the first. Each one is written by a different author which accounts for the difference. It was a quick read as it is short and sees the Drews on vacation in New Orleans when they are called to a naval base to deal with ghosts. Monty is still inappropriate and still doesn't believe in his wife's abilities despite his direct interaction with a ghost in the first book. It is an interesting enough premise to have me continue reading but the lack of details about the characters and their exaggerated responses is irritating so it needs to continue to hold my attention.

Ellen and Monty are on another adventure. This time, there are so many ghosts in one house on a military base. Ellen can't understand why there are so many in one place. As she and Monty look for answers, she is sure that there is an evil entity in the house. She just isn't sure what it is. Can they find the answers?

I had a lukewarm reception to the first Ghost Files Book, Ghost College. I liked the premise but I really wasn't into the characters too much. But being a fan of Rain and Nicholson I picked this one up to see where the series was headed. I'm glad I did because this one fleshes them both out a bit more, especially Ellen.

This book is told from two perspectives. First person for Monty but then it shifts to third person for the more Ellen-heavy parts. At first I was a little confused as to what was going on. The first novel was told strictly in first person from Monty's perspective. Once I got into it however I liked the change. I found it a good way to get a better feel for Ellen and what she does. Considering that she's really the paranormal muscle in the series it made sense to get to know her from something other than Monty's perspective.

As far as the story goes, it's already been explained in the book description so I won't go too heavily into that. But there is a twist in the theme of the book that goes beyond 'mere' ghosts that made this one really interesting.

A short read but fun and entertaining. It's pretty self contained as it doesn't reference the first one too much but I would say go back and read Ghost College first and then this one in order to get the full experience.

I admit I've never heard of nor have I read any of Evelyn Klebert before but after reading this I think I'll see what else she's written.

Good fun with some creepy atmosphere and good down to earth character moments, or as close to 'down to earth' as a couple of paranormal ghost hunters can get ;)

Paranormal and psychic occurrences are happening on a National Guard base in New Orleans. In housing that dates from the Civil War and was refurbished following storm Katarina’s haunting and dark events are happening. More and more people are being affected by the dark, despair and miasma that emanates from this house. Monty and Ellen Drew, a former PI and his psychic wife have been asked to see if they can figure out what is causing disturbance and put an end to it. The key seems to be Captain Beale a WWI soldier.

This is book 2 of the series and my initial sense is that this series should Read-in-Order. There was little background to the story, I felt dropped into a discussion that had been going on for some time. Though I found the different scenario of paranormal events intriguing and different than I have read before. What a twist!

This is the second story in the Ghost Files stories. This is the first time I have read a series where the author are different for each of the three stories. I wasn't super crazy about this one, but it was ok.

Ellen and Monty are in New Orleans on a vacation. Monty decides to get together with a family member while they are in the same area. They are asked to look into some suspicious activity on a military base. They find a house full of spirits and there is an overwhelming sense of sadness and depression that permeates the premises.

It is an interesting story, but as I said not really my cup of tea.

Nice little Ghost hunters short. Ellen and Monty are called in to New Orleans to investigate a house on a Military Base where something definitely evil is going on.

I love this series. It's a nice, lite paranormal read. If you enjoy the ghost hunter type shows, these books may appeal to you, except they take it to the next level...because it's fiction.

I enjoyed this tale and its ghostly subjects. it was a quick and fun read. Plenty of paranormal and intrademensional activity. However, it did seem to end abruptly and could have continued to a better resolution. But then again sometimes. life leaves us with a similar act. For a fun read, I highly recommend it. Now onto the next ghost files.

Second of the "Ghost Files" series which I got as a free download of the set of three. Again, interesting and well developed characters, fun read. Didn't like the plot quite as well as the one in the first book/ novelette (?) but very readable.

As the second Ghost Files book, I found both Ellen and Monte a little easier to deal with this time around, but I have to say, I feel this installment ended VERY abruptly. I won't leave any spoilers, but I was definitely left wanting more... Moving on to Ghost Fire as we speak!

It was an ok read but it had potential to be better. I didn't like the changing of the viewpoints from Monty to the third person and I almost got the impression that Ellen was there also. I also thought the end was somewhat abrupt.

Not quite as slow as the first

The first in this series was slower and took longer to get to the actual story. Because we already know about the characters, it was quicker to the plot. Much better, I felt.

I love NOLA ghost stories, and was super excited about starting this one. There wasn't anything wrong with the book I just didn't love it like I'd hoped. Still quick and easy and fleshes out the characters from book one a little more.

Really Short

Up
It was ok. Not as good as I had expected. And seemed to be really really shorter than usual.
