4.25stars-HUNTED is the first instalment in Chase Austin’s contemporary, adult FBI Agent Aria Hunt crime thriller focusing on FBI Agent Aria Hunt.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Aria Hunt, HUNTED focuses on the search for five missing children, abductions that may be connected to Aria’s past. FBI Agent Aria Hunt has been relegated to the Bureau’s basement in the wake of a disastrous assignment where our heroine was blamed for the loss of lives. Aria Hunt is neuro-divergent, and sees everything in patterns, and it is her ability to see patterns that allows our heroine to solve the crimes that could never be solved but the abduction of five children, all with extraordinary mathematical abilities finds our heroine pulled into a spiral of impossible odds wherein our heroine must solve complete a series of impossible tasks to find the children she is hoping to save but all is not as it appears to be, and Aria is thrown back into the past, into a life she was forced to leave behind.

The world building is detailed, complex and with mathematical equations, patterns, and science-fiction overtones focusing on one woman’s ‘beautiful mind’. As patterns emerge, Aria is able to focus the chaos of her mind, patterns in which numbers reveal the clues to unsolvable crimes.

There is a large ensemble cast of interesting and dynamic secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Agent Ethan Parker whose was too quick to judge our story line heroine; assistant director Katherine Vance, as well as Aria’s former mentor Diana Washington, and several FBI Agents, and law enforcement officials.

HUNTED is a story of madness and obsession, power and control, concept and reality with a slight speculative fiction assertion and theme. The action packed premise is dramatic, dark and imaginative; the characters are charismatic, dynamic and determined. HUNTED ends on a bit of a cliff hanger.

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is a new series which introduces Aria Hunt who following an incident in Denver relegated he to Close Cases in the FBI. For some unknown reason, Parker, another FBI agent, has been sent by Vance, his boss, to enlist Aria's help. Aria has a gift that allows her to see things others don't. This case involves the abduction of children and no evidence has been found at the scene. Parker is not impressed with Aria, but he has no choice. He introduces Aria to his team and they also wonder what kind of help she can provide.

As time goes by, Aria evaluates the situation and provides her insight. Parker is not impressed, but later unknowingly winds up talking to a reporter which winds up getting back to Vance. Aria has gone back to her section, when Parker once more needs her help. She outlines her thoughts as to what is going on and when to expect the next abduction. Based on her information, a trap is set at 3 locations to prevent the abduction and capture the suspect.

The abduction is not successful, but things then take a worse turn. Aria now becomes of a target. Learn what is behind the abductions, what role Aria plays, who is pulling the strings and how it all works out in the end.

The last part of the story will have you on pins and needles and you will find it hard to put the book down. This is a definite winner, don't miss out!

One of the most unique, interesting and 'enjoyable' murder/kidnapping novels I've read in a long time. It involves a demoted neurodivergent FBI agent whose perception of the world is viewed through the prisms of maths and logic. Viewed with suspicion by her new team she has to overcome their prejudice against her 'disability' and her previous actions which they believe led to the death of another FBI agent.
In the midst of the serious manhunt for abducted children with particular skills there's almost a touch of James Bond when the suspect utters 'Welcome Agent Parker, I've been expecting you' For purists the baddy isn't stroking a cat on his lap.

I was impressed by the amount of research that must have gone into the novel as well as its use to produce a crime story that empathises with people who are perceived as subnormal just because they view events in a different manner.
I will admit that my comments on the book are influenced by the fact that I have an autistic grandson.

I received an ARC copy but the views are my own.

The disappearance of 5 children over a period of time requires a different approach and Special Agent Aria Hunt consigned to the archives in the basement of FBI headquarters, is called on to utilise her special skills to help solve the kidnappings. But it is more complex than just kidnapped youngsters. They all have special similar skills to Aria and as the story unfolds Aria finds herself deeply involved and suspects she may also be able to solve the mysterious drowning of her twin brother at age 7, years ago. Aria is allocated to a field team headed up by Ethan Parker and initially Ethan and his team are sceptical of how her unusual skills identifying patterns will assist, but they eventually accept her skills when patterns she has identified are brought to light by the investigations.
There are so many twists and turns in this story that this reader wondered what was going to happen next, and at times emotions connected to the characters and the situations they found themselves in. WHAT A GREAT READ!

This is a new genre and the start of a new series for this author. And for his first attempt, it was an incredible ride. The story started out slow for me as the plot foundation is established. The last quarter of the story picked up its’ movement at an incredible pace! I had no option but to cling to my seat, and turn the pages at a record pace. Twists and turns, taking me off guard added to the thrill of the story. To enhance the pace the author had short, quick chapters as one of the protagonist goes through timed tests. This tactic was brilliant in keeping me involved, and invested in the characters’ welfare. This story is not an easy, cozy read, but an intense, gripping, highly cerebral and unusual adventure. And when I thought it was over, still more drama followed. I received a complimentary ARC, but I am voluntarily offering my personal opinion.

Chase Austin brings us with one of the most intense thrillers I've ever read!

As a consequence of a previous mission, FBI Agent Aria Hunt is now working in the basement of the FBI building with previously unsolved files. It turns out that she is quite successful with her new job. Regardless, this position is considered to be one where former agents are stuck for the rest of their career.

But then she is drafted to "assist" lead Agent Ethan Parker in a stunning case of five missing young children who have vanished without any leads whatsoever! But Aria has built-in senses that allow her boss to bring her surprisingly into the new case.

This is an outstanding adventure in watch you watch Aria and Agent Parker right up to the thrilling an unexpected end! Heads up: HUNTED by Chase Austin is truly difficult to put down once you start reading!

Hunted: Aria Hunt FBI Crime Thriller (FBI Agent Aria Hunt Book 1), my first read from author Chase Austin, a 558-page FBI thriller that grabbed me and kept me reading until finished. Totally unputdownable, I don't know why it took me so long to read I own 8 of his books with my first acquired 5 years ago! “I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with Monk Assassin: Axel Monk Thrillers Book 1 already on my TBR list and then I'll have to read Blood Hunt: FBI Agent Aria Hunt Thriller when it's pub lished next year. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

WOW!! This is my first Chase Austin novel and I'm completely worn out. I feel like I was holding my breath through the entire book. The tighter the action, the faster I read. It's definitely a read that has you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the shoe to drop. This is not your normal FBI procedural. There is non-stop action, which engages the mind immediately. Aria Hunt is an autistic FBI analyst, who has the unique ability to see patterns enabling her to predict a kidnappers next location, but as she's hunting the kidnapper, he's hunting her. I' definitely looking forward to the next novel in the series!!

Intense and gratifying!

“Hunted” portrays:

A remarkable story that defies the odds.

Character development that delves into the extreme.

A scientific exploit that twists the inevitable into a heinous crime.

Personal enlightenment that nurtures friendship and respect…all wrapped up in a new series that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

There is so much to ponder here as you teeter on the edge between what is fictional and what is possibly real…I am grateful for having the opportunity to read and provide an honest and voluntary review.

I love this new series Chase has started starring FBI Agent Aria Hunt. Who is teamed up with Agent Ethan Parker to save 5 abducted mathematical brilliant children. This is a page turner full of twists that are very suspenseful and lots of family involvement in Aria's history is discovered. No spoilers here. So I'm just going to say this is another gripping, nail biting thriller from Chase that you don't want to miss.
I highly recommend this book. It's a must read.

A very good first book in this series. The mathematical and pattern recognition aspects of how Aria's mind processes the world is particularly fascinating, and is very well described throughout the book. The plot twists and turns frequently with links to the past also emerging as it progresses and the individual characters are well described and relatable. Aria seems likely to be an increasingly interesting new character as her story develops in future books.

From the start this was totally different from anything I had ever read. It held my attention from start to finish. The story is about five children that had been kidnapped and the FBI is trying to solve the case before more are abducted. The lead person in the story is Aria Hunt, a person with unusual skills. Aria sees every in mathematical terms with uncanny precision. I won't spoil it with details but this is really worth reading. I am looking forward to reading more of Aria's stories.

Hunted is a well written intense high speed thriller that takes you on a roller coaster ride to the riveting ending. When the tension reaches its peak the short chapters are clever to keep the action moving.
A great beginning to a new FBI series and development of new characters, especially Aria Hunt and Ethan Parker. Looking forward to more.

Captured my attention.

Difficult to put down. In fact I had to stay up late to finish. Had to know the ending. With several family members with autism I really identified with those of us who don’t think like they do. Yet they are so bright and add so much.
