"“Forget him. Forget everything.” His low voice against my ear. He brushed a soft kiss against my lips, barely a whisper. His lips searched mine and the familiar pressure sent a shock through every nerve in my body. A flood gate has opened and all the memories were rushing out, drowning us."

It’s been four years since Adrian left for Oklahoma City, leaving her with nothing more than empty hopes and promises. Now, four years later, Avena is ready to start fresh, and when her long-time boyfriend proposes to her, she accepts his offer of engagement. Just when things are beginning to fall into place, Adrian shows up in her life for the last time. When his return sparks the buried feelings she’s been holding in for so long, she is forced to come to terms with her past and also her future. Can they undo the past and start all over again? Will she be able to finally let him go?

Things don't look promising for a happily-ever-after. From the blurb, it implies that Avena and Adrian have went their separate ways and are now living their own lives. In this sequel, L. Jayne takes you on a journey fuelled with passion and relief as these two fall in love all over agaib.

I hardly review books that I've read, but I just needed to talk about Chasing After Infinity and its amazing sequel. It is one of those books. It had fantastic romance that didn't skip right to love and HEA. Instead, the main characters have to go through a lot of turmoil and obstacles to obtain their rightful HEA.

L. Jayne draws two differing personalities and reveals each of their strengths to the other. This book has a lot of heart and drama as both Ave and Adrian are complex individuals with that are filled with sorrow and loss. Even though they have been through more than most people their age, they have still managed to overcome their insecurities and find love within themselves. Finally, the self-declared player Adrian Huntington has learned to love. And even though it's shorter than the first novel, it has all the heartstopping romance that I love.

I think I loved Chasing after Infinity more than the sequel but the sequel has its perks too! It explains the history behind Ave and Adrian's relationship and how even though they are separated from each otehr, their love never truly died out.

After Adrian left her, Avena is left in pieces. She graduates from high school and enters Columbia University and there, she meets her soul mate, Lucas Williams. He is calm, cool and collected and in his comfort, she tries to forget about her tumultuous past relationship.

In a few chapters, the author gives us a peek into Lucas and Avena's relationship and they do seem to have some chemistry. But all of that is ruined when Adrian comes back into the picture.

Startled and completely thrown, Ave tries to deny her old feelings for him. They have that push and pull thing again but this time, it's more intense because their love is on the line.

Overall, I actually really liked this sequel because it gave me the backdrop to what occurred during those four years they were apart. Really nice!!

I know this is going to be good, I want to read the Kindle edition now. Only wait a few more days until it comes out, yay.
From Chasing After Infinity, Adrian has left Avena to search for his birth mother. They had a tumultuous and passionate relationship back in their high school days and it seems to me that in the sequel, L. Jayne will wrap everything up and answer some of the unresolved questions from earlier. And who's the "longtime boyfriend?" :D
BUT STILL COME OUT ALREADY!

I was actually surprised to find myself liking this novel. After reading Chasing After Infinity, I immediately bought the sequel and was fangirling the entire time to see whether the two starcrossed lovers actually end up together.

All in all, nice but not overwhelming read. The author wraps up the loose ends of Adrian's past, him dealing with his birth mother and it was satisfying to see things from his POV for once. Avena is still the same whiny, stubborn protagonist we saw in CAI, albeit a more mature version of herself, and we see her still struggling with her feelings for Adrian. When two worlds collide again, BAM, sparks fly.

Of course, I was waiting for the happily ever after portion of the book since L. Jayne cruelly leaves us hanging in the previous novel. And although the ending's not quite what I imagined it to be, it still left me pretty content and satisfied with the way things turned out.

The only thing I have to say is thank god it was only 113 pages. It wasn't bad, it just irritated me. I absofuckinglutley loved chasing after infinity, it stuck in my brain for weeks afterwards, and is still there. This did not compare at all. I bought it like a month ago and just read it. Its been 4 years. Years.!!! And avena is engaged, then adrian comes back. We learn that he found his birth mother, and she didn't want him. But what the fuck was he doing for 4 years after that. Avena started eating someone like a year after he left. I felt really bad for this lucas guy. He wssnt a bad guy, he did nothing wrong, and he wasn't even a closet dick. He didnt give us any reason to hate him. But Avena fucked him over. Bad. And she cheated on him. Then at the end when she broke things off, he didn't say anything. Fuck you Avena, I liked you better in book one. Adrian is gangster now. I love him, but I want to remember them how they were. Then they have that cop out kidnapping at the ending. Logically speaking, wouldn't it have just been easier to take adrain, instead of avena. There were five guys. Even he's not that badass. But they fake him because he owes them money. So how Does he afford the apartment he rented on a whim? Or bills? Cmon. Then she gets stabbed. (Groan) then he says the doctors say she might be unconcious from blood loss. Really, he thinks? Because she didn't just get stabbed, what the fuck else would she be unconcious from? The rope? God. I did like the proposal though. And the part where she flash backed to when she almost drowned. And he said he wouldn't go after her, but she said she knew it was a bluff, he would always follow her. Overall I think that this a let down compared to one. And I prefer the high school them. I think I'll go reread chasing after infinity. And I lijed the engagment ring.

I read Chasing After Infinity a while ago, and to be honest, I wasn't entirely impressed by it. However, I picked up its sequel with a curious heart and I was pleasantly surprised! The story follows Adrian and Avena's journey into self-healing as they navigate their lives and learn how to finally escape their demons. I found Lucas, Adrian's competitor to be quite two dimensional but thats just my opinion.
However, I found the overall story to be quite entertaining and fulfilling :)

I'm pretty psyched for this one. In the previous novel, the author left a lot uncovered and I really want to see what happens to Avena and Adrian after these years. Will they reconcile? And what will happen to the bad boy? Looking forward to it, especially the part where it says that Avena is now engaged.

EEEEPPPP!! I absolutely loved it! I felt as if she was just skimming the surface of the story and she could have gone a lot more in depth with it.
