One date gone wrong, and Ashley McClure became a victim.

Seven years later, as a nurse and sexual assault examiner, she gathers evidence against other assailants, hoping to make up for letting hers get away. She wants to fall in love like every other girl, but with her past, no man would have her.

Ryan Stone tanked an undercover operation that left people wounded. He strives each day to be a better cop, but no matter his accomplishments, they aren’t enough to eradicate the stain of guilt.

When Ashley and Ryan are invited to the same dinner party, he pursues, but she’s frightened of giving her heart away. Can Ryan use what he’s learned from his mistakes to be the man Ashley needs? Can Ashley overcome her past trauma and let Ryan love her?

If you adore big-city romance and stories that pluck your heartstrings, this second-chance, cop-and-nurse romance is for you.

Tulsa Town Romances Book Three
Ashley McClure, sister to Heather from Redemption, book two in this series, is a man-hater. Only Heather and Josh know what happened to Ashley seven years ago. And yet, when the handsome Officer Stone comes to the hospital to pick up evidence, her heart wishes she were different and that she be comfortable with men…that man.
Officer Ryan Stone is attracted to the beautiful nurse. If only he could find more time with her besides the infrequent meetings at the hospital. Ryan gets that chance thanks to Ashley’s friend and co-worker, Natalie. He realizes something is holding Ashley back, but he’s not one to give up easily.
A tissue alert goes on this story if you cry easily. But no worries, joy comes. It is a page-turning series with what could be real-life situations that take a lot of work for these characters to find their happily ever afters.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, and I am so glad that I did! I felt pulled into this story from the very first pages. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I finished it in two days. I kept thinking, “I need to put this down and go to sleep.” Nope. I. Couldn’t. Stop. Reading.

The main characters, Ashley and Ryan, feel like friends I want to “do life” with. They are complex people. Wounded and vulnerable, yet fiercely strong and independent. Loveable, yet achingly frustrating. Open and real, yet closed off to the risk involved in loving someone.

Although each book in the Tulsa Town Series can stand alone, I highly recommend reading all three. I guarantee you’ll fall in love with all of these characters - it’s impossible not to. I can’t wait to read more from Kristy Werner!

Tragedy, failure to a beautiful future, this story brings that and so much more! Ashley and Ryan’s story is full of emotion and pasts that they each have a difficult time forgiving themselves for. When paired together, their story comes together so eloquently. Kristy Werner has knocked this 3rd story in this beautiful set out of the park once again! Characters who you will adore and love so much and stories that will touch your heartstrings, this read brings forgiveness, love, caring hearts, and the true meaning of friendship together all so beautifully. I look forward to more stories in this heartwarming series!

While this book may be fictional the story touched closed to home for me. While the author writes fictional stories they are stories that we do encounter in this life. I love reading about the struggles and thoughts that these characters are going through and how once they let go and let God takeover that things work out for their greater good no matter how difficult the situation they are going through. There are great lessons of love, patience, and grace in this book and I loved every minute of reading it.

This was a gritty Christian romance and I loved the protective cop pursuing and loving the nurse who has had big trauma in the past. This whole series was fantastic!
