Where is an extra star when you need it?

Half Breed is a marvelous mix of mostly Urban Fantasy with a drop of Sci-Fi and Mystery and Cori Moore's writing style reminds me of authors like: Ilona Andrews, Diana Rowland, Richelle Mead, Karen Chance.

Fallen is a strong, independent, witty and funny character, that during this book discovers who she is and why she is and acts the way she does with the help of Wraith, in the middle of a chase and pursuit of a magic relic, in the underground of Chuck E Cheese and parallel words.

The book has all the ingredients I love: action, fights, jokes, suspense, teasing and interesting new things to learn. And it made me think every few pages: Why haven’t I discovered this book before?

I absolutely love a book that catches my attention at the start and continues to hold me within its pages till the very end and makes me double check if there is another page, because I can’t believe it’s the end!

P.S. The author said she is working on the next book at this moment, Yuppy!

Note: I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

You never know what your going to get when you buy lesser known or Indie authors. I find a lot of times you get okay stories but there are usually flaws in editing or plot issues. This book had none of those problems. The plot is fast paced and full of action but also has good story development. Fallen is a true to life character who just wants to be accepted within her species. I loved her spunk and fighting spirit, her need to do what's right even if it's not the easiest or fastest solution. I loved Wraith he's just a likable character with his easy smiles but protective attitude. Of course no shifter story is the same if you don't have an over protective sexy Alpha, enter Coal into the story. Love him he just adds another layer to the story that would have been lacking without him. I seriously can't wait for the next book in this series. If you like Mercy Thompson, Kitty Norville, or Faythe (Rachel Vincent shifter's series). You'll go mad for this book too.

Fallen (a great name for this character) is a lone wolf among many. She has a pack but she just does not feel she fits in anywhere. She leaves to live on her own and to make money she becomes a mercenary. Coal is her Alpha and is trying to get her to come back to the pack. At the beginning of Coal's wooing to get her home, she is hired by Wraith to help him find a missing relic.

This job with Wraith has Fallen all over the place and I loved it. I felt sorry for her but I loved that she was still strong without being over the top. The story had my attention from the start. I love the sexual tension and the family bonds in the story. Even though Fallen didn't feel wanted, I think she made it a bit worse because she pushed people away. Wraith enters her life and Fallen really doesn't know what to make of him.

The book had humor something I really needed at the time. I found myself mentally rubbing my hands together to see what would happen when Coal and Wraith met and I loved how the author played out those scenes. There is some sexual tension but there were no sex scenes in the book. Good plot and I will definitely continue to read to see where Cori takes Fallen.

I really enjoyed this book! Fallen is a not your usual female main character. Granted in the start of the book I thought she might be like a lot of main paranormal females. The same "tough guy" attitude can get a bit predictable but, Cori Moore puts in a great mix of humor and mystery to it. Although this is an adult book due to some language it also has some sexual situations In it. But it does not overcome or stray away from the plot. Don't get me wrong it had some parts that held enough sexual tension you might even be leaning into the book pushing for a "scene", but it has a story that never falters away. Wraith is a great easy going character that seems the complete opposite of Coals.
Overall I cannot wait until this author furthers the series! I am excited to see where she takes these characters!

I got pulled into this mystical world so fast. I instantly like the protagonist because she is a, take no crap from anyone type of gal. As the book continued I was drawn to both guys that the story seems to "fall" for Fallen. The book brings a fresh taste to the fantasy realm while leaving you wondering why you can't yet find this author everywhere. I'm still yearning for the sequel, and believe me it's going to be on my nook the day it comes out. I couldn't read this book fast enough but now I'm quite impatient.

I was extremely impressed with this book! We meet the main character, Fallen, while she is working, bounty hunting. In that first chapter, I was having a hard time getting into the book, as she seemed distant and cold, but quickly you learn that Fallen is a very complex character and are pulled into the story. I could not put it down! I finished the book wanting more and I cannot wait to see what this author does next!

First let me say that Half Breed was given to me by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The main character Fallen is a half breed werewolf, a lone wolf really while she does technically have a pack she stays away from them and does her own thing. She cannot shift to a wolf and makes her living as a private detective, the hunt on a case keeps her and her wolf satisfied. Fallen, aside from not being able to shift also can't tolerate the touch of others it makes her skin burn, something else that keeps her separate from normal life within the pack.

Wraith, now he is a bit a mysterious rogue, he initially hires Fallen to help him find a missing artifact and he's not really forthcoming with information. Fallen also has no idea what he is as he gives off no real scent, she knows he's not human, but not what exactly he really is or why he is looking for the artifact. Wraith also seemed to take everything is stride and had a sarcastic sense of humor, while Fallen on the other hand didn't have a sense of humor at all.

The story had turns of action and quite a few twists and turns, there was a lot of humor here too, some really great lines from Wraith. I loved the interaction between the two of them and how Wraith is able to give Fallen what she hasn't been able to have before, a pack and a friend. One thing I didn't like was the character names, Wraith and he had a brother named Shade...hello Larissa Ione anyone. Other than that I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed it.

I gave this book 4 stars only because the epub form I got to review was not written in the same font. Sometimes within sentences the font will change. The story line of this book was well written. There where times where is lagged but as a whole I really did enjoy this book. It is about shifters (paranormal), the story line stayed true to itself and didn't shift from the start. Fallen is the main character of the story she is then hooked up with Wraith the male main character. The relationship with them is a great romance in the making. The third in this is also well written, Cole is the other. I would like to see a sequal to this book. I think there are going to be many more stories comeing from Fallen, Wraith and Cole.
