Beholder starts in Station One, a vast hub of a world in miniature, where the strictly regulated establishment has decayed badly over the years. Now it is riven by criminal organisations, not all of whom are outside the governmental structure, and years of intrigue and manoevring lead to a critical situation.
The human Imperium stretches across space and abuts the Delh Triumvirate, an alien empire which tolerates mankind, but whom mankind can never hope to wholly understand. Is it strength, or is it weakness, is it a logical conundrum, or is it a game?
And within the Imperium, rival corporations are battling to create a fully functioning sentient A.I., something that within human space has never been achieved.
All these forces come to a head in a fast-paced epic space opera of a story, stretching from Station One to Earth, from the Imperial Senate upon the Moon to the pirate base at Pro Nexus.
