LOSAW is book one in the Wynera Kingdom Series, a Tragic Romantic Fantasy that spans over five books and one novella.
The first 60 pages of this book were rather slow but I am SO GLAD I kept going. Once I got over that hump, this book ripped me inside of it and did not let me go. AJ has created such a beautiful world and plot that I am fully invested in. I love Vale. I love Edyn. I love the wolves 😩 It’s all perfection. But can we talk about that cliffhanger?!? The next book can NOT come soon enough!
It's definitely worth the read. Perfect for someone who loves the dark fantasy world of the fae, dyres, and other mythical creatures.
You follow along with the main female lead as she tries to remember who she is, where she came from, and why she's here.
There's an underlying romantic tension going on in the book, but not enough to call it a spicy book. It's a book that has some spice, and when you finally get there, you'll be satisfied. Haha.
The main complaint i have is that the author left us at such a cliffhanger..."to be continued". How rude lol. 😆
4 ⭐️/5… I really loved the world-building and the unique take on the Fae in Land of Shadow and Wolves. The lore and atmosphere were captivating, making it an immersive read. However, I have to admit—the extreme height difference between Edyn and the other characters was a bit distracting. Visualizing the intimate moments, especially between Edyn and Vale, was a challenge since he’s 8 feet tall and she’s only 5 feet. It sometimes took me out of the story, making those scenes feel a bit unbalanced.
That said, I’m fully invested in where this story is headed. The ending caught me off guard in the best way, and I’m especially curious to see if Edyn ever regains her memories. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN!! AJ is a literal genius and did such a great job with her FIRST novel. I’m obsessed and can’t wait for the second book to come out!
Spoiler free. I found this author at a local event over the summer and have been itching to get through my TBR to read this and it was fabulous!!
I love that this isn’t exactly like every other fantasy book I’ve read recently. It feels familiar in a comforting way but fresh and new at the same time. I appreciate the world building at the beginning of the book it helped me see everything play out in my mind as I read.
I love the push and pull between the main characters and the tragic reality of the others. It all comes together in a beautifully crafted story that I can’t wait to read more of!
If you’ve stumbled upon this review, then take a chance on this book, and you’ll fall in love with the characters just as much as I have.
I had the privilege of being the Alpha reader for LOSAW and I love this book. Unique characters, an interesting and mysterious world, a cliffhanger of an ending. This book is full of enemies to 🫢, betrayal, fight, and trying to find yourself in a world full of unknowns. The ending had me screaming and I can’t wait to devour the second book.
Love love love! I thought the characters in this were so dynamic and multidimensional (especially with their interactions with one another)! And I really loved the plot and world building! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book and how Edyn will harness the *SPOILER* powers of life and death!
First off, omg. That cliff hanger was insane! This book is amazing and super hard to put down once you pick it up. AJ does a great job at putting you inside the Wynera Kingdom with the characters. I'm super excited to see what Book 2 has in store for us!
Think of this book as if avatar (yes the tall blue people) met fourth wing and had a baby.
Edyn is a simple human who wakes up with no memories nor any idea where she is. She is immediately thrown into danger and makes a split decision to save her life.
Some memories come back, but for the most part she has no memory of her past life before coming to the kingdom. The king and queen believe she is the savior for their world. She spends months training and learning to fight, and proper court etiquette. Her battle trainer is quite morally gray and she’s convinced he wants her dead. But does he really? Why does she feel this strange pull to him?
Edyn finally sets off on her journey for saving the world she was thrown into with her trusty trainer, whom she starts feeling feelings she can’t quite put into words. Can she really do it? Does this kingdom really rely on her? A simple human?
This is book one of the series, and I will say it is AMAZING! This was the authors debut novel and I will say she blew this out of the water! There is a cliffhanger, and I’m not going to lie my book did fly across my bedroom at the end. Here’s to waiting not so patiently for book 2!
Land of Shadow and Wolves hooked me from page one! Edyn’s lost memories, impossible quests, and a world full of magic kept me glued to the story. And that morally gray love interest? Let’s just say I’m still thinking about him days later.
