This is a book about different cases of stalking. It explains the different forms of stalking and how important it is to address this obsessive behavior. It talks about celebrity stalking and how stalkers who are in love with celebrities fantasize about them because they believe that they know the famous person on a personal level, the story tells of a young teenage boy who moved to california with his brother who bought him a weapon that he later used on the celebrity he admired. I understand the stories of these stalkers but not who they are because all of the stories come from the early 90's. It also talks about how some abusive relationships form into stalking because the spouse believes that they know their partner too well and that they don't really want to be away from them. one story talks of a girl who came home from college and began to get stalked by a boy in her high school class who liked her. he would stalk her parents too whenever she was away from home. another story includes a man who helped a family but soon became too attached, he would consistently stalk and call the family over 30 times a day. One day the man appeared while the wife was home alone, as she became frightened when she opened the door instead of welcoming him in she invited him to go get the newspaper with her where she then talked to him and told him he needed to leave when she got to the bottom of her driveway. Years later the reluctant man finally moved 8 hours away but would still continue to call their family and ask for money or ask to live with them. i have learnt that stalking is a very important situation and can be very scary if it isn't addressed right away and that it can also escalate depending on who your stalker is.
