Raising the Standard: Reclaiming Our World for God

Rate this book
Today, whole ranks of everyday Christians are becoming heroes of faith, by standing against godliness and winning in the fight against spiritual darkness. This book chronicles their bold faith... and shows how you can stand among them! No longer can we ignore the raising hostility to God and his moral laws. We see forces destroying the values on which our civilization, our families, our very lives are founded. The battle is at our doors and our losses are great * false religions in our schools * the barring of Christianity from the public places * countless lives lost to abortion * violence in our neighborhoods * perverse laws that favor the ungodly. We cannot run any longer. All that remains, then.. is to raise the standard and retake our world for Christ!

Again I say, Carman is a great writer. I highly enjoyed this book. It was so informative and eye opening. I complete agree with everything Carman says. Especially nowadays, people need to stand up and raise their standards. I finished it in 2 sittings. I couldn't put it down. :)

Though this book was written in the 90s, I read it anyway. There are still some things he addressed in this book that are still issues even 30 years later, such as suicides, teenage pregnancy. Toward the end of the book, he explained that if we're bold in sharing the Gospel, we'll be amazed at how many people want to hear it and come to know Jesus.

Hard to believe that it's 20 years old. Had the book, but never read it. I' m glad I did. Really thought provoking to tell people to take a stand and stop waiting for the rapture. We got work to do.
