What the hell did I just read?! This was nothing like I had read before. The novella is written all from the FMC’s POV. Both the MMC and FMC are basically description less and nameless (with only a few minor details given) so you can picture them however you want. Also - this does NOT have a HEA so don’t go in expecting one!
The FMC lives alone and is hanging out in her backyard on Halloween afternoon when she spots a man staring at her from her neighbors roof. She’s freaked out but also intrigued. Surprise surprise - same man ends up in her bed when he breaks into her house that night. He promises her one night of anything she would want and then he’ll be gone by morning.
I can’t say what all happens in the book but my mind was blown. I literally said out loud “THAT’S HOW IT ENDS?!?” and my dog stared at me. I then promptly slid into A.R. Rose’s DMs and said we needed another 🤣😭

Short and spicy Halloween novella. This was the first book I’ve ever read where both that FMC and the MMC are nameless and description less. It put me in mind of the “y/n” Wattpad books. But it worked for this books it was spicy and an easy quick read! I stayed up way past my bedtime to binge this book in one sitting. Though I do wish there was more explanation to what happened and just more in general, I enjoyed it for what it was! Definitely would read more by this author!

I loved this novella. The author was so creative in her story. Craving to be with another man and thinking you just might be crazy for what you thought happened. It is Halloween and she watched scary movie. It pulled me in and had me craving for more. Spicy goodness for feeling and craving another in your bed. I wanted so much more!

WOW!! My first read by A.R. Rose, and trust me, there will be a lot more!! So creative! The author wrote in the style where YOU are the lead character! The other characters can be whomever you imagine. Limited, to no descriptions, picture them as you want.
The leading woman is considered a "good" girl, never taking chances, reliable, safe. Until one day she spots a man watching her, enjoying what he sees, and instead of being creeped out she's ignited! She finds herself not only thinking things she never thought she would, but acting on them as well. Suddenly, he's gone, and she's left to her own fantasies.
The same night, the same man shows up in her house in the middle of the night! He's masked, won't reveal his name, but she knows it's HIM! She should scream, she should be terrified, but somehow she's not. She finds that she wants him there! She wants to be touched by him, she'll follow his lead, do what he wants. He takes her on a crazy, sexual ride all night long. Never willing to reveal his name, but he reveals SO much more!
When she awakens in the morning, he's gone, vanished. She's not surprised by that, but she is surprised to find no evidence of his existence in her home! Was it a dream? Is she losing her mind?

With Only One Night, new-to-me author A.R. Rose has written a tantalizing novella that features a lonely FMC and a mystery MMC who may or may not fulfill her dark fantasies for only one night on Halloween (with little resistance from her, I might add). The nameless narrator, who may or may not be unreliable, struggles to distinguish between fantasy and reality until the end of the story, when she and the reader are forced to confront what's real.
While I wish that this novella were a little longer and included a few more details about the characters (maybe even the MMC's POV), Only One Night is a well-written story that sets the mood for Halloween, if only because it demonstrates how the imagination can be scarier than real life. I would love to read a follow-up novella to see what happens to the FMC next.

This novelette is the perfect little spicy and thrilling read for October. Read in under an hour, there were many times I stopped to read sections allowed to my friends and husband. The dirty talk is A+ and the ending is A++! I love how we are left literally hanging and as confused as our mysterious FMC.

Wow…. That was so much better than I could have imagined!
First of all, the spice levels were immaculate. It was well written, well planned, and just fun. Plus there were so many different types of spice scenes, they weren’t all the same but rewritten - they were unique to each other.

In the second half I was actually at the edge of my seat, eager to know what would happen next. I thought it was such an easy, beneficial element that just elevated the quality.

First of all, the spice levels were immaculate. It was well written, well planned, and just fun. Plus there were so many different types of spice scenes, they weren’t all the same but rewritten - they were unique to each other.

This was a trip. Despite reading it a couple of months ago, I am still thinking about it and its twistedness... I honestly questioned my own sanity while reading this—wanting to know what was real, what was fake, what was in her head, and what she was purposefully being led to believe. And I think the most frustrating part for me was that it ended on a cliffhanger and I'm still not sure what to believe about it all.
I went into it knowing it was a novella, but came out of it feeling like it needed more. I feel a bit lost, which isn't my favorite feeling coming out of a quick read.
That said, for those of you who love the spooky, paranormal-esque vibes, this is a fantastic quick read you won't be able to put down.

A.R. Rose grabbed my heart strings and took off running with this one. I am chasing for more because this short Novella is not enough. I absolutely devoured this story and loved every single second of it!!
After a day of lounging poolside watching the neighbors roof workers watch her she was hot and bothered. 🥵 When the sun goes down she finds the mystery man from the roof broke into her home and is now standing over her. She is yet again hot and bothered and longing to see what mystery man does next. Will one might be enough for these two or will they both beg for more? Is mystery man real or was it just a dream? Um, I’m so intrigued & in love with this short story. I’m left with so many questions at the end, but sometimes that’s not always a bad thing and made the ending so much better in my opinion!!
The spice, was SPICING!!!!! I was drooling over my kindle if you believe that’s possible. I love the fact it was so incredibly different in the way that the FMC & MMC didn’t have a name, nor descriptions. How the author left it completely up to your imagination is something I’ve never got to read before and I liked it way more than I thought I would & made it so easy to see myself as the FMC!!

This was a great novella that was short and had the spice to it. There are no names so you can imagine that it was you. Which I thought was what!? But when I read it I was like okay. I get it. The MFC is at home swimming when she notices a guy on her neighbor's roof. Then he disappears only to come back later. He breaks into her house that same night. No names are exchanged and he tells her that they will only have the one night together. He also tells her that maybe next time he would bring his brother too. When she wakes the next morning sore and achy she starts to wonder if she imagined the whole thing. I loved this read.

WOW! and WHAT? That’s what I said when I finished the Halloween novella, “Only One Night” by A.R. Rose. This story is completely unexpected and although I usually expect my romance to end with an HEA, this was a short and quick dark romance that ended perfectly for the spicy plot. Throughout the story, both characters remained nameless and description less, but this one,mysterious, sexy and spicy night was simply too short!! I needed more A.R Rose!!! Pick this up if you want a kinky and spicy little Halloween novella!

A debauchery filled novelette that leaves you asking what just happened? But completely loving how you got there. The characters are really abstract, they can morph into whoever or whatever you imagine, which somehow makes the one night with a nameless, sometimes faceless, man that much better.
A. R. Rose has done a superb job of taking something that is kind of a psychological thriller and making it hot AF. Check your triggers, plenty in here, and then enjoy this twisted Halloween short story.
