Andrew Craig graduated in Economics and International Politics in 1997. His first job took him to Washington DC where he worked for a US Congressman on Capitol Hill. Since then, he has spent over fifteen years working in financial markets for various firms in London and New York. These have included UBS, Credit Agricole (France’s biggest bank) and SEB (one of Sweden’s largest banks). He is currently a partner at boutique investment bank, WG Partners.

During his career, Andrew has met and travelled with the top management teams of several hundred companies and been involved with the stock market flotation (IPO) of the likes of Burberry, Campari, easyJet, HMV, lastminute.com, Carluccio’s and the Carbon Trust. Andrew does not claim to be a financial “guru”, but he is confident he can help you. At the most basic level his view is simply that you really owe it to yourself to learn enough about money and investment to get your financial house in order. The rewards for doing this are life-changing.

Learning about money is also nowhere near as difficult as you may previously have thought. You can learn how to do a perfectly good job with your money just as easily as you learnt how to drive, for example. Andrew would argue that it is crazy that nearly everyone accepts that it is normal and entirely possible to learn how to drive but most people think that learning about money is too hard or just not for them. Real financial literacy should be taught at every school in the country. To that end, he knows that you will find the information in How to Own the World truly life changing...

As always, Andrew does keep a good amount of optimist in his books. He knows where to pinpoint and explain how important owning the world is Do it little by little while you are young, so your money can compound and return on itself.

He knows how important investing is for your future. Because let's face it, the western states will not provide a good pensions for those under or early thirties (for many reasons, being demographics, one of them...). And the same applies for many other countries in the rich world.

Much like his previous books, this one seems to summarise well the previous books for the younger generation. My favorite personal finance author so far.

Ps.: I don't live in the UK, but his advice does apply beyond the borders of the United Kingdom.

Ps.: I listened the audiobook version ;) it was easy to follow.

I Listened to the Audio book version, I thought the concepts where well explained with a sufficient amount of detail. Sometimes points where repeated which I didn't benefit from.

Before listening to the book, I knew a small amount and was already investing in the market.

After seeing the book recommend and listening to interviews with Andrew, I thought id try it.

Personally felt like I learnt a lot of concepts that are often glossed over when reading online advice. Particularly around the 100 - your age rule and the Dollar cost averaging and goverment bonds.

Overall I'd recommend listening to the book with the caveat it can feel a bit long winded sometimes. But I think it's hard to make pensions particularly exciting.

A really easy read, and nicely written, for my age of audience. Explains key things well, doesn’t condescend, and offers good insight into the various investment platforms. I found it a little repetitive at times, but maybe that is by design - to ensure the point goes in. Would recommend reading.

First of all - Taiwan is not a country! It is part of China, it is only a province of China!

Otherwise this is a good book for young generations. I wish I could have read such book before my 20s
