Beau Carter: kingpin, blue-eyed playboy from across town, and the only man I’ve ever shared my secrets with.
And now, my fiercest competition.
I never planned on racing in the Gauntlet, but with my sisters depending on me, winning this tournament is the only way to keep our heads above water. I work for a crew that trades in secrets, and Beau runs the underground races that keep this town alive. We both play on the edge of the law, but getting involved with him? It’s more than dangerous—it’s forbidden.
Five races. Five chances to cross the finish line before him. Five steps closer to the money that could change our lives. But with each race, the stakes get higher and so does the danger. Sabotage, threats, and accidents are piling up, and it’s clear someone doesn’t want me to cross that finish line.
Every race brings me closer to victory—and closer to Beau. But as the final race closes in, I realize not only is my life on the line, but so is my heart.

Penelope Black lives in the Midwest with her husband and two tiny humans. When she's not writing, she enjoys over-the-top action movies, iced chai lattes, and soaking up the sun in her backyard with a good book.
I loved this story even more than the first one. Beau has my whole heart. He's such a cute and golden retriever boyfriend I can't-. 😭💗 Eliose is an independent and strong FMC and I loved her so much(she has the eldest daughter syndrome and I can totally understand her🥺). Loved their sizzling chemistry and heartwarming moments. Loved the romantic suspense angle in the book just like the previous one and I can't wait for the next part already.
Read it if you love : 💗Small town romance 💗 Rivals x Lovers 💗 Romantic Suspense 💗 Grumpy x sunshine
This is the second book in the Avalon Falls series but can be read as a standalone as you only get a few glimpses of Cora and Jasper. I have to say I did NOT see this book coming. I was thinking small town with a motorcycle group like book 1, but Penelope took us on another path, and I am HERE FOR IT! This was like Fast and the Furious in a small town with wonderful characters, intrigue/kind of suspense, and an HEA. I LOVED Beau Carter. His meet cute with Eloise was epic- I felt like I was reading the OG Twister in book form. I hated that they got separated after that but love how Beau kept referring to fate and kismet for them. They just had this insta connection. I am REALLY enjoying the books where the guy falls first and in this one Beau does- and OMG is it so cute when he realizes! I liked the thrill of reading the racing scenes. I liked the found family that Eloise had. Man that woman is a strong one- so protective of her family and putting everyone first. It was amazing to see her get treated like a queen while respecting what all she had been able to accomplish.
Eloise is working her way towards her main goal in life which is providing for her sisters. She only has a small amount of her loan to Seven Pines and Levi left to pay before they are free and clear. She is working through getting custody of her sisters so she can also get the woman called her mother off her back. With all of this in mind, she doesn't do things for herself ever. So when on a whim she ends up at a drive in and has an immediate connection with a blue eyed hottie- she kind of ignores it. But then they go through a crisis together and kind of get to know each other. The time with the unnamed man is the most comfortable she has been around someone in a long time. But she can't hang on to it. So even though they have an earth shattering kiss- she dips without giving him her name. Fast forward a month and Eloise has been entered into the Gauntlet which is an underground race. The winner gets an exorbitant amount of money which is what she needs. She has been trained in this area if you will. She is ready to put her name out there. What she is not ready for is seeing her man at the qualifier. Not as a racer but because he owns the track. He is none other than Beau Carter. Racing royalty. And he seems to have his sights on her. But she has to play it cool. Because now he has entered the contest and is her competition. But she finds herself drawn to him. She finds herself doing things for her and feeling supported by him. She finds herself letting him in more than anyone ever has been. But now they are towards the end of the race and the stakes are high. The owner of Seven Pines has threatened her situation if she doesnt cut ties- but how can she do that when it feels so right? When her sisters even like him. Will she be able to take back what she said before it's too late? Will their kismet come to fruition like Beau keeps saying it will?
Beau is in a bit of a rut. He has always raced and done well at it. But after he got the conditions for his grandmother's inheritance= his priorities have shifted. Now he is on the sidelines and feeling like he wants more in life than he thought he did before. So when he has a fated night as he calls it with a beautiful stranger, the feeling gets stronger. He believes it's fate when he runs into her again at the qualifier for the Gauntlet. And then again at the next race. He can't stop thinking about her. He wants to know everything about her. He wants to have a future with her but first he has to get her on board. He doesn't want to scare her away. He realizes there is more going on than he thought. She thinks her baggage will make him run, but clearly she has underestimated how much she means to him. Because he will do everything in her power for her to be free. He just hopes she doesn't disappear in the meantime.
This series has been great so far! Both books have had great characters. I can't say that I have read an underground racing book which just added to this one. I liked the found family aspect for Eloise and her sister's. I liked the glimpses into Cora and Jagger's life. I liked the bomb Graham dropped but haven't been able to figure out who he is "being forced" to marry- any one know?? Also love the hints dropped about Mason and Beau's sister- I am calling them as a book in this series! Anywho if you haven't picked this one up already, I definitely recommend it.
Thank you to Valentine PR and Penelope for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This fast-paced story is so good!! We find ourselves in Avalon for book 2, Beau is absolutely swoon worthy! Peach/ Lou/ Louie/ Eloise is a girl who CAN do it all, but after meeting Beau, she realizes that she no longer HAS to!
I loved watching this relationship grow. It's definitely a great book that you should read ASAP!
2.75⭐️ honestly, I struggled to remain interested. I really wanted into love this but it just wasn't it for me, unfortunately. thank you to valentine pr for the arc
I didn’t know how much I needed a street racing romance book in my life until I read this one! Are you kidding me?! This was absolutely PHENOMENAL 👏👏👏 all I could think about was this is small town meets fast and furious and I ate up every single bit of it! Can I stay in Avalon Falls forever please?? 😍
Beau Carter is 100000% top book boyfriend material. You have golden retriever energy with a dirty mouth (sir yes, sir 😮💨), completely head over heels & obsessed with our girl Eloise, he was super protective of her & was giving us all the “touch her & die” vibes. Oh my goodness this man had be absolutely giddy & every time he called her peach, It did something to me 🧡
Eloise absolutely has my heart. Everything she did for her sisters so they could know & live a better life, carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, putting everyone else’s needs above her own and never allowing herself to be selfish and think of her own needs, she really went though it 🥲 I love how Beau slowly took down her walls & showed her she’s also worthy of love & happiness and I just love everything about them!
I loved the racing competition plot line and I loved the twists & turns the story took! This was my first book by Penelope Black & it 100000% won’t be the last! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book ✨
Tropes: - Small town romance - Street racing - Rivals to lovers - Forbidden - Romantic suspense - Grumpy x sunshine
*Thank you so much to Penelope & VPR for the ARC, this is my honest review!*
Who knew that I needed a book that featured street racing…Pen knew. I absolutely loved this one and has taken over as my favorite Pen book ever written. I am seriously obsessed with Beau..he was perfect!
This story follows Eloise and Beau. Eloise has a lot of baggage trying to provide a better life for her sisters, Margot and Vivie, after they get away from their mother. Beau is the like the bad boy of his family and sort of secretly runs the Alley, a racetrack where there might be some shady backdoor dealings. However, when he finds out that Eloise has entered, he decides to enter as well. Beau knows she is involved with some bad characters and the Gauntlet doesn’t show any mercy…he will protect her at all costs.
I love a good romantic suspense and this one I was hooked right from the beginning. The street racing vibes were so much fun and not like anything I have read before. I need more of these vibes for sure! Eloise, I absolutely felt for this woman. All the shit she has been through, putting everyone’s needs before her own and she is still an absolute strong and independent woman. I loved how Beau as able to chip at her layers and make her a little softer and let her know it is okay to be selfish once in awhile. BEAU!!!! OMG That man is absolute perfection. The way he was all in with Eloise from the beginning and literally everything he did to prove himself to her made me melt. And the nickname “Peach”…OMG!! I am in love. He has my whole heart…the perfect golden retriever boyfriend.
Thank you Penelope and team for the eARC.

Tropes: - Small Town - Rivals to Lovers - Street Racing - Grumpy x Sunshine - Golden Retriever MMC - Romantic Suspense
I had SO MUCH fun in Avalon Falls meeting this cast of characters and I tore through this story so fast. I’ve never heard much about street racing and I loved that it was incorporated so well into the story line - it was a perfect setup for rivals to lovers. The main characters’ serendipitous meetups made for such a fun romance and I devoured their slow burn, nicknames and chemistry.
Beau was such a golden retriever MMC to Eloise but also with a side of “touch her and die” Doberman that I couldn’t get enough of. Eloise was such a fiercely independent badass and protector of his sisters and I loved seeing her finally allow herself a little bit of happiness. I couldn’t get enough of this story and I’m so excited for whatever Penelope writes next!
I’m so grateful to @authorpenelopeblack and @valentine_pr_ for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of Foresaken Oath - it’s out today (12/4) so RUN and grab this one 🫶🏼
I loved Elouise and Beau so much! This story was different from things I’ve read before, but hello illegal street racing 🤭 it was so fun and full of suspense and twists and turns! I loved Louie’s protectiveness over her sister and how she always put them first. I loved how strong she is and hello?? She’s a driver too! I loved that! Beau is suchhhh a cutie! He has golden retriever energy but definitely a bad boy with a dirty mouth! He was so head over heels for Elouise and I just loved every time he called her “Peach” 🍑 A very honorable mention goes to Margot because that girl is witty and hilarious! I would love to see more of her because her character was the best! Overall, I absolutely adored this and can’t wait for more in this series! 💖
Thank you Penelope for the e-ARC to read and review!
If you ask me how I would describe Forsaken Oath, I would say, it reminds me of a small town Fast and Furious. And you can NOT convince me otherwise. Not to mention Beau has dark blonde hair and blue eyes... like HELLO. He IS Paul Walker! My millennial heart is so full with this one!
I absolutely adored this one! I loved how different this book is from anything I have ever read. I haven't read a street racing romance before so I was so intrigued by the story. But what I loved most is Beau and Eloise. Beau has to be one of the sweeter MCs ever! He is such a sappy golden retriever but also has those touch Eloise and you die vibes. It's honestly the perfect combination of everything we love. And the way he calls Eloise Peach or baby, I turned into a damn puddle.
My girl Eloise, I felt for her being the eldest daughter and just trying to survive. This girl has really gone through it. She takes care of her two younger sisters and puts everyone's needs before her own, until she meets Beau. The way Beau softens her, and makes her realize she deserves happiness to made me melt. They were so perfect for one another.
And in true Penelope fashion, do expect some twists and turns. She writes the romantic suspense so well. This one is slightly suspenseful with secrets that are revealed as you read. I think her books are like a puzzle. You get pieces of the puzzle as you read to put it all together, which is absolutely love!
I love this world that Penelope has created so much! And I can not wait for the next book. The real question is, which Carter will fall in love?
You should most definitely read this book if like you: - Small Town Romance - Romantic Suspense - Rivals to Lovers - Street Racing - Forbidden - Man Obsessed
* Thank you so much to Penelope Black and Valentine PR for allowing me to read Forsaken Oath as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review.
I could reread this book over and over again, that’s how much I loved Eloise and Beau. Their meet cute in the beginning was everything. It had me kicking my feet I was so giddy! Beau is such a sweet guy, like a golden retriever that is a little dirty on the outside to show he’s rough and tough but then all sweet on the inside. I loved how selfless Eloise is. Always doing everything for her sisters and making sure they are safe and healthy. And I mean taking them out of that house and taking care of them when she was just a child herself?! So fucking strong and selfless. She didn’t think she was deserving of happiness but Beau was there every step of the way showing her she definitely is! He was an amazing character and his unwavering support for Eloise and the girls was perfect! I’m such a sucker for MCs that have such amazing chemistry, and these two had it all. It made their banter and angst and together time soo much better! Their fun banter back and forth was amazing. Eloise, Margot and Vivie are forces of nature and I loved them to pieces. They are girl gang to the max and those sisters would kill for each other!
Laughter. Tears. Heart eyes. Just all the emotions. I can’t say anything bad about this book. It’s one of my top 5 reads of 2024.
I loved the thrill of an illegal street race adventure plot! So much fun. And the fact that Eloise (FMC) wo is also a driver in what you'd call the Gauntlet Competition was an unexpected badass addition! Beau (MMC), definitely gave me a lot of Paul Walker vibes with his dirty blonde hair and Vin Diesel with mysterious ways and tattoos.
"Peach Baby" - Loved the nickname. I found it endearing and cute in a sexy kind of way. Thanks Beau!
I was so intrigued by this series after book one but now I'm hooked. I love a good romantic suspense and this one was captivating all the way through. The street racing vibes was fun and and different from a lot of the other contemporary romances I've been reading and I have to say, I like a good bad boy!
Let's talk about Margot for a second. I loved her, she was my favorite. Eloise's sister is a vibe and I'm obsessed with her blunt commentary and direct banter. When she texted Beau I was dying laughing. She deserves her own book! I need more of her!!!

Thank you @authorpenelopeblack for an ARC of this I had the absolute best time reading about Beau and Eloise. Their story was fun, engaging, full on banter, hilarious and lovable side characters.
Eloise is a single guardian to her sisters trying to give them the life she didn’t have, when her sister enters her into an illegal street racing tournament she comes face to face with Beau, a mysterious stranger she spent one unforgettable night with two months ago. But now he’s the competition. But Beau just finally found his dream girl again and he’s not going to let her go that easily.
I love how fast paced and action packed this is in between the beautiful romance. We get a tournament style racing filled with sabotages and rival gangs. It kept me so interested through the whole thing. I love watching Eloise dominate a male centered event and how badass she was. She is one of the strongest heroines I have read about and I found myself rooting for her to finally find her happily ever after. I love how gentle Beau is with her knowing how high her walls are. And how is willing to wait until she’s ready going at her pace but also wanting to protect her and want her to win.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series I just know this is a new favorite author for me!!
* Small town * Rivals to Lovers * Grumpy x Sunshine * Romantic Suspense
Where do we start. We met Beau in Broken Pact as Cora brother. What we didn’t know that he’s basically a badass who runs a secret underground racing ring. What you also don’t know, he’s reining champion of the biggest racing event of the year.
Eloise, a women who had to grow up way to quickly, who choose her sister over everything, but who also loves fast cars.
What neither of them expected, were to meet each other on more than one occasion and fall hard for each other while competing for the same competition.
Beau is fiercely loyal, extremely protective, extremely spicy mouth, grumpy but a hopeless romantic. Concern him in your top 3 book boyfriends.
I am so in love with this series! Forsaken Oath is fast paced and action packed from beginning to end. Penelope knows how to write the most amazing and complex characters, and men that will leave you swooning. This one gave off Fast and Furious vibes and I loved every minute of it! There was such a unique story line where both of the main characters were street car racers. Paul Walker was my top celebrity crush for as long as I can remember, so this book was seriously made for me. The way Penelope describes Beau’s physical features even reminded me of him. And Eloise is such a fighter and the way she took care of her younger sisters is so admirable. Her sister Margot was my favorite, she has so much personality. The way Beau and Eloise connected made this story so addicting, and I didn’t want it to end. And the suspense! It was all fantastic. I seriously loved everything about this book, and can’t wait for the next!

arc review: penelope is over here making me fall in love with a BLONDE MAN. this is criminal honestly. but beau carter is definitely in my top book boyfriend list now….
I love all of the aspects of this book: independent girlie who does want it takes to survive, the street racing, beau being a total simp.. the list can go on. this is easily a 5 star read for me. I got sucked in and couldn’t put it down when I started reading (honestly had to remind myself I have a full time job lol).
forsaken oath is an interconnected standalone releasing 12.4! yall are gonna eat beau and eloise UP.
This is the second book in the series but is a standalone. Beau and Eloise's story was amazing. What happens when you are trying to win a race to help pay to keep your sister and you alive but meet the small town's bad boy? Well, I'm not telling you need to read it to find out but I will say fast cars and hot guys is the best way to spend the night. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Holymoly, Penelope has absolutely smashed it again with this small-town romance! I wasn't quite sure what to expect between these two characters as we barely knew of Beau and Eloise, but damn i was hooked from page 1!
The story gripped me from the start and had me devouring the pages & I immediately fell in love with Eloise and her protectiveness. Beau hot damn what a man! 😍😍 He has me swooning hard.
The twists, turns, and unknown really leave you second guessing what's going to happen!
Eloise and her sisters damn, they are just everything together, and Margot is so friggin badass!! She literally has me howling throughout with laughter!
The ending had my jaw on the floor, I just have no words. I honestly LOVEEE this couple beyond words!
I am absolutely LOVING this series!! I just can't get enough!
This book was so different than what I was expecting in the best way possible. It was fun and sweet and the perfect amount of spice. I loved Beau’s possessiveness with Eloise and I loved her sweetness and her love for her sisters!!
I loved this! I am already giddy to read the first book of the series, and impatiently waiting for book 3!
Beau Carter was it! As a girl who grew up in love with Paul Walker in the Fast and Furious franchise this book was even better 🔥🔥. Seriously this man! The cute nickname, the touch her and die, the worship the ground she walks on, and the patience to let his girl deal with her baggage and support her however he must. I love a man who is not afraid to fight for his girl and wreak havoc in his wake to protect her but has a heart of gold for his woman. And Elouise! My heart broke for this beautifully broken heroine. First child problems trying to take on the world and make it better for those she loves while sacrificing herself. We share a lot of similarities which made me feel an even deeper connection to her. And finally, as someone who grew up on racing video games and dreamed of being a street racer this book was everything I did not know I needed.
Thank you so much @valentine_pr_ and @authorpenelopeblack for the opportunity to receive an arc to read and review ♥️
Men written by Penelope Black will always be superior! Beau Carter might be one of my favorite mmc's of the year! Golden Retriever vibes while being a bit of a bad boy and possessive, turns out that is what I need to like golden retriever mmcs! Normally I am not loving on FMC who push men away and cause a little rift... but I didn't hate it this time! I actually really enjoyed how learning about Eloise, and watch her grow, and watch stuff get real for her!
Eloise and Beau meet on a chance encounter (with a little help from mother nature), and the infatuation begins from the start (more with Beau). But while the two assume they will never see each other again. It takes the prelims at the Gauntlet, the street race Eloise is competing in, for Beau to come out of retirement to move heaven and earth to be close to her again.
I will knock out my erk really quick, I felt like the end was a little rushed, I wanted to enjoy it a little more, and it was just like okay we are done. I think a lot of that comes down to I enjoyed them soo much as a couple, I didn't want it to end. I just wanted more and more of them!
I loved the cameos of Cora and Jasper, but also seeing little easter eggs of what is to come in the next book. Right when I thought I knew what was going to be the next book but Ms. Penelope said NOPE! I want so much of this world and series and I am happy its not ending anytime soon!
The slickness of oil coated his fingers, and the smell of gasoline soaked into his jeans. The engine purred to life with a quick twist of his keys and he sat there and listened to the roaring power. His heart hummed in tune with the car, but something else consumed his thoughts… well, not something… someone.
Forsaken Oath is a dual POV romance following Beau and Eloise. Eloise is trying to get by and keep her sisters safe from a dark past, while working for a dangerous crew of people. Beau owns and controls the local racing scene and can’t keep his heart from roaring to life every time he sees her.
Wow. Five freakin stars. As soon as I started this book I knew it was a winner and I love that feeling. Who knew that I’d be head over heels for street racing?! Loved it! Beau and Eloise were perfection. The street racing was edgy and suspenseful. The danger of Eloise’s past and the shady people she was tangled up with… nerve wracking! Definitely didn’t want this story to end and I can’t wait to read more in this series.
If you’re looking for a romance with Fast & Furious vibes and these tropes: touch her and die, he falls first, rivals to lovers, and small town with some heightened suspense… pick this one up ASAP!

Ok its official Avalon Falls is my favorite small town series of 2024 🖤 Broken Pact was my fave ARC I’d read and i loved Forsaken Oath even more!! Penelope you made something special here, I know you know it too. People you Have To Read this! Small town romance with a touch of spice & danger you know you won’t be able to stay away!
Where to start?! I love everything about this story, Beau is just what my dream teenage boyfriend looked like in my head, the fact that he’s on the edge of bad but has the biggest heart is the cherry on top! The banter & flirtation was so much fun! I smiled all the way, and teared up a few times. 🤍 The way the story flows and melts with its characters is exactly what I love in romance novels. The fact that this was Fast&Furious infused was just delectable 🤌🏼 I LOVE those movies so much, I think we would be great friends you & I P🤭
I need to add a special mention for that FNL ref cos Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t loose is a golden quote & that’s how this book made me feel! Eloise is sassy and strong, she’s got wit and character & her love for her sisters melted my heart! Also Margot is just the MVP! I wish she has her story at some point but I’m gonna venture and guess that Graham is next 🫣
Thank you for giving me the opportunity of reading this early, I’m really honored to be part of the team & hope to stay in your crew 🖤
I loved Broken Pact so much I wasn't sure how it could be topped, but Forsaken Oath quickly took the top spot for me. I'm not sure what it was aviut Beau, but I was drawn to him so quickly and he's my end game. And that's without the impressive driving (why is a man driving so sexy?! 🥵), the going out of his way and calling in favours to make life easier for Eloise.
✨️✨️✨️
“I want you so fucking much I can barely think straight. I just—” I exhale slowly, trying to find the right words. “I need you to be sure, Peach. Because once I have you, I’m not gonna be able to let you go.”
✨️✨️✨️
Eloise is my new girl crush and I won't hear a bad word said about her. As the eldest of three sisters too, I felt an instant kinship to her, and would have done the same thing she did if I'd been in her shoes. The sacrifices she made must have been so tough at times. She's so selfless, and always thinking of others first, I'm so glad she found Beau to finally have something special for her.
✨️✨️✨️
He looks like some kind of bad boy fantasy brought to life. The kind of disheveled that makes women do stupid things, like fantasize
This was my first street racer book and wow I have definitely been missing out🤩
I was hooked from the very beginning…Beau was just utter perfection. He was probably one of the most sweetest MMC I have ever read. And my girl Eloise, she was a spitfire who loved to go head to head with Beau. And we can just talk about how they met 🥹 it literally made me so giddy 🥰 I was on the edge of my seat patiently waiting for them to get together. Beau was the protector Eloise and her sisters needed and he stepped in flawlessly.
Offfff course the suspense in this book was just enough to keep you guessing but never guess right😭 oh and can we talk about the angst 🫠 lordyyyy did these two have chemistry. It made me want to jump into the book grab their hands and put them together so they realized they are MADE FOR EACH OTHER.
I * HIGHLY* recommended starting with Moonlight Temptation so you get a feel for this town and all the secrets that go along with it 😍 but of course you can always just start with Beau 😉

Eloise Hawthorne just wants to keep her sisters safe after a troubling upbringing. After taking some interesting jobs from her friend in Seven Pines, she bumps into a stranger named Beau Carter. They are instantly intrigued by each other if circumstances were different but her mind is on the care of her sisters. When Eloise accidentally gets entered in the Gauntlet, an underground racing challenge held in Avalon Falls, she just might see Beau again and need his help to survive it! Can Beau keep her safe? After all this race is in his world. Wow, from the prologue to when these two first meet I was intrigued and wanted more. These two underdogs and their worlds collide in the most perfect way. I loved Beau and his charisma. Eloise is such a strong heroine I’m here for it! Beau is also Coraline’s brother from book 1 but this can be read as a stand-alone. Hold on and get read for a strangers to lovers ride you won’t be able to put down! So swoon worthy with plenty of action too! Told in first person and dual POV.
This book was everything. My goodness, I loved it SO SO MUCH! I adored Broken Pact, book 1 in the Avalon Falls series but this book was honestly next level. I was so absorbed in the story and the main characters Beau and Eloise were both perfection. Rivals to lovers… definitely a new favorite trope.
I cannot with a boy obsessed & Beau was just that 😍 They way he called her Peach, so dang sweet 🥹 The two of them were drawn to one another and kept meeting in the most random places— it was honestly so fun to read. When they finally gave in to the insane attraction and chemistry 🙌🏼
Eloise is such a rockstar. She puts her sisters well being above her own and does whatever she needs to in order make their lives better. She is such an independent, badass and I literally adored her character. When she finally let herself be happy and fall for Beau I was internally cheering her on 👏🏼❤️🤭

Thank you so much Penelope and VPR for the opportunity to read this as an ARC for my honest opinion & review!
I LOVED this book with my whole millennial heart 🖤 this gave me fast & furious vibes so hard. & he gave Eloise the sweetest (no pun intended) nickname…Peach 🍑 I am a sucker for a good nickname in a book and this one was perfect!
Pen has quickly become an auto buy author for me. Pen writes it, I’m reading it. No question about it. I thought I loved the first installment of the Avalon Falls series, but this one tops it for me. Eloise is raising her 2 sisters, after leaving their crappy mother behind…well for what they could. When Eloise has a chance run in with our boy Beau at a drive in theater one night, kismet brings them back together 🖤 They are both street racers but they aren’t just racing to win the gauntlet, they’re racing to win over each others hearts too!
I 10/10 recommend this book by Penelope Black. She didn’t miss on this one. It gave small town, complicated family past, sacrifice for loved ones, swooney boyfriend, taking chances…if you don’t jump you, you can’t fall.
Thank you to Pen and Valentine PR for allowing me to read this amazing story in advanced. I can’t wait for what comes next in book 3 🫶🏼
ARC Review ✨ First I would like to say a big thank you to Penelope for letting me be apart of this ARC Team! Rate: 5/5⭐️ Spice: 1/5🌶️
What to expect when reading Forsaken Oath; -Small town -Rival x Lovers -Grumpy x Sunshine -Romantic Suspense
The way Beau was with Eloise was swoon worthy! I love an independent woman, because she is such a strong person, but I love a man that is okay with that but is there as backup! At first I wasn’t sure where the story was going to go when I started ready but it got so good! I loved the growth of the story. Eloise has her hands full between keeping her sister safe, working odd jobs to support them, dealing with some people and then you throw the Gauntlet into the mix… how does she balance it all. The chemistry her and Beau have was everything, especially since he has that rough exterior but is a golden retriever with her. I can’t wait for book three!
