Chelsea calls the one person she can count on – long time family friend, Dallas Quinn. Oh, Chelsea! Maybe not a good idea. Dallas Quinn has played his feelings close to the chest for years. And promises to keep Chelsea safe not withstanding, Dallas could be the biggest danger yet.
Still, the two work side by side to unravel the mystery that has upended Chelsea’s life and when the mystery is solved, they must unravel their feelings for each other.
Deception, a contemporary romance, weaves elements of suspense and mystery into a surprising but satisfying story of love.
I have long been attracted to romance novels, primarily for their woman-centered stories. Romances are easy-reading books, designed to leave the reader satisfied. And this, as well, is part of my attraction with the genre.
I have written most of my life: diaries, journals, poetry, and, more recently, romance novels. Looking back on this compilation, I can see that the elements of romance have been present in all of the forms.
In my novels the heroines are contemporary women, strong and independent. They seem well able to hold their own against almost anything life brings. And yet their quirks and vulnerabilities make them easy to relate to. While the hero completes the heroine, he is not the sole driving force for her happiness.
Writing romances gives me the opportunity to create stories where the man and woman always get their relationship right in the end, and where the reader can celebrate the power of love. These life affirming stories can be told in many forms because no two couples are the same, and because how these couples interact, support and sustain each other seems to vary endlessly.
I hope you enjoy reading my novels as much as I enjoy writing them
It’s hard to believe that Deception is this author’s début novel; it read like the work of a seasoned writer. Ms. Knight deftly blends elements of romance and intrigue into a smooth concoction that will delight even those who—like me--are not generally readers of this genre. In addition, the details that bring the characters and the setting to life testify to the fact that the writer is a careful researcher who has really done her homework. I’m not generally a fast reader, but the story kept me so engaged that I had finished the book before I knew it. And it kept me guessing till the end!
Deception was my very first Kindle purchase, and I loved it! I look forward to more from this author.
Excellent read! Fast paced thriller and a wonderful love story between Dallas and Chelsea, with a twist in the story that was completely unexpected. Would love to see a sequel! Highly recommend this book.
